[Training] Attack of the Clones (solo)
Thu Aug 13, 2015 11:21 pm
"Ram... Snake... Shit, what was the last one again?"
Shika, the justice-pursuing wondernin, was attempting to learn her first jutsu: the clone technique.
"Was it... Dragon?" With a brilliant burst of light, she most certainly brought something into existence with her chakra. It... Just was not a clone.
"DEAR GOD, WHAT THE HELL- DIE, YOU GENETIC ATROCITY!"
Needless to say, it was not ending well for her or the summoned 'clones'.
Shika sighed and reopened the old scroll. She had found it in the wreckage of the village, and the dust and mold had obscured most of the writing. She, being either incredibly stupid, overconfident, or probably a combination of both, had decided she was going to learn the jutsu anyways.
BOOM.
Big mistake.
She scratched the back of her neck and sighed in irritation. This was what came of never formerly attending a ninja academy. What was she doing wrong? She had ample amounts of chakra for someone relatively inexperienced in the arts of ninjutsu, so clearly that wasn't the problem. Therefore, the real issue lay in the hand seals. Which would have been a heck of a lot less irritating if the hand seals were actually legible.
The first two were clearly the Ram seal and the Snake seal. The last one was clearly not a Dragon seal.
"What other seals does that leave...? Uhhh... Boar... Screw it, let's give it a go."
Her fingers twisted and twisted as she began to pour out chakra. Was it... Actually working?!
BOOM.
...I will take that as a firm no, she decided, dusting the ash off her face and shoulders. Well, Boar and Dragon have been (not-so) safely eliminated. Maybe it was just the Ram and Snake seals, and the rest was just side notes?
She braced herself as she performed the respective seals. With an audible crack, a nearly perfect clone popped into existence. Yes, she had finally-
BOOM.
"Oh, screw this!" Shika cried in irritation. "Is this some kind of divine retribution?!"
A few meters away, crickets began to chirp. She repeatedly facepalmed. The universe must really hate me.
She picked up the musty old scroll warily, re-reading it multiple times, before placing it back down on the grass.
"Ram... Snake... Ram?" A half-human monstrosity came into existence and was immediately dispatched, thanks to a few well-placed jabs to the neck and back of the head. Haha, nope.
"Ram... Snake... Monkey." Nothing happened.
"Ram... Snake... Dog." Her hands sparked menacingly.
"Ram... Snake... Bird?" A nearby squirrel made a strange noise and fell over. Serves you right, you squirrel bastard.
"Ram... Snake... Tiger?" Slowly but surely, she had completely depleted her chakra reserves trying to summon a clone. She sighed and facepalmed herself so hard that her head rang for a few seconds.
I... Think I'll rest a bit before going back to work, Shika decided. When she opened her eyes, she saw a perfect clone standing in front of her. It... Really was the Tiger seal all along?
Little did she know, in her frustration and impatience, she had channeled too much chakra into her clone.
"I can't believe I finally-"
BOOM.
[le exit]
Yep, this is a ~500 word (I think the grand total of words is around 538) post for training the E-rank clone Jutsu. Fabulous, I know.
