Kira nodded her head in excitement before the boy could even finish. “YES! an adventure!” She yelled, throwing her visit into the air. “And a chance to also search for my parents! You got yourself a deal Sally!” Saying that the Uzumaki was pumped was underestimating the way she felt. She had come to love Suna and all, but she was dying to leave the village and explore the vast lands, especially now that she was stronger. Being stuck on that small island when she was younger had always given her the craving to explore and become the next Dora The Explora! When she had washed upon the shore, although having the opportunity to, The Uzumaki found a safe haven in Suna since she was still quite weak. Now that she could fend for herself, and could find a travel buddy in Sal, maybe it would be a good time to ask Koroshi to let her venture out.
Once she had asked, Sal had complied to show her. He bit hit thumb, sending shivers down Kira’s spine. Inflicting self pain was something that just gave her the shakes. The Uzumaki memorized the three hand signs he performed before his hand was engulfed in blue chakra. The aura healed hit minor wound in seconds, leaving Kira absolutely flabergasted.”Whoa.” The slow learner that she was, she didn’t expect to get it quite quickly, but she though it was worth a shot. The Heterochromatic eyed girl too the boy’s tip before preparing to do the jutsu herself. Pulling out a kunai because she was too much of a sissy to bite herself, she pulled out a kunai to get the job done. The small wound sent blood down her finger and reaving dark droplets on the warm sand. It seemed like she had possibly cut a little deeper than she planned because boy was it a gusher! She quickly formed the hand signs in a panic that she was seriously going to pass out from blood loss! Dog, Boar, Rat. She focused her chakra with all her might that she thought she was going to pop a blood vessel and drop to the ground! Just another way to die in Kira’s book of a thousand ways to die in a minute!
The blue chakra formed in her hand and Kira freaked out! Not because she had performed the jutsu, but because her thumb was now engulfed in thick blood. What the hell had she done? She could have sworn she just poked it with the tip of the kunai! Kira looked up in Sal and squinted her eyes. YOU. She said to herself, practically blaming him for her own error. It was technically his fault that she was poking herself with kunais in the first place. Now she will be known as the pretty suicidal chick from down the block. Refocusing her attention to the wound, Kira pressed the aura towards it, and watched it heal over the course of a few seconds. It was like the wound was never there! Well, except for the vast amount of blood on the floor looking like someone has just been murdered. Kira squealed in excitement as she now learned something new. She threw her arms around Sal’s neck as a thank you hug before poking herself again with the kunai and doing the technique once more. She was like a little boy who just got a new action figure. And the cycle started once more. Let the blood run.

He seemed to have made her day, offering her a place to travel beside him and teaching her the medical technique. He watched as Kira stabbed her hand with a Kunai to draw blood. This was dangerous as it threatened death by blood loss, but first, she would go into shock, painful and unpleasant. She managed to avoid it on her first run, drawing ample amounts of blood before she started the healing process. If course there'd be a few glitches. Even as the light blue glow formed around her palms, the healing took a bit longer, letting the wound bleed a while more, blood now gushing over Kira's hand and onto the golden sands below. She glared at Salzem with venom, as if he was the one who caused this glitch to happen. Salzem simply held up his hands and backed off a step, showing that he really had no intention. She was no longer paying him any mind though because as her wound healed, she was mesmerized by the jutsu. Just as Salzem thought she was literally hypnotized, she embraced Salzem in a hug. Surprised, he stiffened, then relaxed slightly and hesitantly returned the hug. Breaking off, Kira started stabbing and healing herself again. This would be fine, if she only did it once or twice more, but blood loss was still a factor and she was loosing a lot. Around the 5th-6th time she'd done it, Salzem reached out and grabbed Kira's knife hand, preventing her from doing it again.
"Kira, you can still die from blood loss." He said slightly alarmed gesturing to the small puddles around their feet. "You've already lost a lot, about enough to make you lightheaded an nauseous. I might be best if you stop, my lady..." his voice trailed off, realizing that his hand was clasping hers. He awkwardly pulled his hand back, wiping Kira's blood on his black pants.

Kira had lost all control for herself. Realizing that she can now heal minor wounds, she was feeling absolutely invincible! One time, two times, three times! She just kept cutting her finger practically open and healing it, not realizing the amount of blood that was being spilled. At this point, she had practically gone numb from it. After cutting her finger for what seemed to be the thousandth time, a hand reached out and grabbed her arm, preventing her from cutting herself open like a suicidal teenager. Kira looked up, her somewhat psychotic smile fading as the boy informed her that she could still die from blood loss.
The Uzumaki digested the information before looking down towards her feet and seeing the blood that made the immediate area look like a scene of a massacre. There was blood everywhere. Now that he mentioned it, she was feeling quite woozy. The heterochromatic eyed girl blinked several times to try to get a hold of herself, but the only reason she was still standing was because Sal had a hold on her. After he let go, it was everybody for themselves and plop, she would fall onto the blood ridden sand. “I need something to eat..” Kira said, pretty sure she was going to pass out any moment now. She could die any moment now, but her mind was only thinking about a nice hot bowl of chicken spiced ramen. Mmmmm, ramen. That would hit the spot right about now, That was, if she didn’t completely pass out.

Kira's expression as he grabbed her knife almost made Salzem flinch. The expression of pure madness and pleasure out of stabbing and healing expressed in her face was disturbing (to put it lightly). Kira appeared to be "In the zone," working automatically, knife heal, knife, heal. At least until Salzem stopped her. Her expression then seemed to clear as he explained to her how blood loss came into play. Her body seemed to relax and as soon as Salzem let go of her, Kira's face blanked out again. It wasn't as if she had fallen back down into her pool of madness, no, her body was feeling the effects of all the blood she had spilt. Her legs began to give way and the color in her face began to fade. Salzem acted quickly, wrapping one of Kira's arms around his neck, keeping her from falling into the blood splattered sand below. Salzem looked around frantically for a clean surface to set her down on. A small bench was nearby. It would have to do. Dragging Kira away from the bloodbath and gently set her upright upon the wooden seat. As he did so, he heard her mumble something about eating. He smiled, despite himself and dug around in his pack for some food and water.
His efforts didn't come up completely fruitless, though it wasn't exactly desirable. Salzem held in one hand, some old crackers, and in his other hand, a half full canteen of water; all part of his rations when he left Konoha. He offered the canteen to Kira first, then a cracker. If Kira refused the food he offered, Salzem would have to insist. If she was passing out, she needed all the food and drink she could get. If she ate, Salzem would sit down next to her, watching, ready to take her to a hospital if she passed out, regardless.

Salzem broke the girls fall, putting one of her arms around his before proceeding to take her to a nearby bench, What Kira felt at that exact moment was pretty close to like feeling intoxicated, or really high. Everything just seemed like a blur and she was pretty sure she was sipping in and out of conciseness. “I see the light!” Kira said dramatically, not realizing what she saw was just the beaming sun that was going to leave her with a nice sun burn in the morning. That was, if she even woke up in the morning! At this rate, she’d be dead by nightfall! Hell, come to think of it, it was a surprise that she even thought she saw the light. If anything, she’d see the blue flames and Hades waving a “Welcome Home” flag as he pointed to his ding dong. Now that’s a thought to give you the creeps! Just imagine it now, a blue, fat man, with a flaming hot cucumber. Just imagine the third degree burns. Now that is true hell.
As much as one would like to write that Kira landed onto the chair gracefully, she did not. She’s actually pretty sure that she flat out missed the chair, but Sal would have probably helped her out with that. Kira squinted her eyes and looked around before her eyes befell the canteen offered to her. As if posses by an evil spirit, Kira grabbed it and chugged, chugged like there was no tomorrow! As soon as she saw the crackers, she went for those next, before drinking some more water to balance out the salt. With that, she magically felt rejuvenated and back to her old self. “ahhhh much better!”She got up and stretched her arms, before seeing the pool of blood, looking like Carrie’s period. Not paying any mind to it, Kira face back to Salzem, sitting back down next to him. “Say Sally, can I ask you something?” She inquired, her voice soft. If he had agreed, she would have slowly continued, her words coming slow. “So, you say you lived in Konoha right? Well did you know anyone from the Uzumaki Clan?” She asked with a newly established trust with the boy. He did after all save her life.

Kira took his canteen from him first, almost draining all the life-giving water down her throat right then. She decimated the crackers next, gorging them down followed by the disappearance of the rest of his water. He was surprised by the vigor with which she ate. He expected he'd have to help her eat it or something like that. Was she messing with him again...? This time, it wasn't funny. He legitimately felt fear for her life. Salzem said nothing as Kira obliterated his rations, lost in his own thoughts. Kira, having righted herself up on the bench so she was sitting next to him, asked him if she could ask HIM a question. Salzem shrugged lightly.
"Have at it." He responded. The question Kira asked was did he know any Uzumaki from Konoha. Salzem opened his mouth to say "no". No he did..... wait.... Yes there was one kid...
"Yeah. I knew one." Salzem responded, stressing on the word. "His name was Reddo. An appropriate name. He was a good kid. A nice kid..." Salzem's voice began to crack slightly. "He was my friend for the one day we saw each other. After that day, he was never seen again, either by me, or his family. He was assumed dead a little while ago." Salzem took a long, shaky breath. Before turning to Kira.
"That's about all the Uzumakis I know."

Kira interior person, you know, the one that you always talk to when your by yourself and realize you have no friends, yeah that one. Well, her interior person filled with glee with the knowledge Salzem presented at first. So far, she was two for two so there we’re definitely some Uzumaki’s in Konoha, but it seemed that Sal was only familiar with one of them by the name Reddo… Hmm well that was Ironic. Uzumaki’s have red hair, the guy’s name is REDdo. His parents must hate him dearly. Though, The Uzumaki regretted thinking that when she heard of the boys sadly departure from this very earth. It seemed like the grim reaper had gotten his Uzumaki’s mixed up and took that poor kid instead of Kira. She wasn’t sure whether to be happy, or sad about that fact.
A chill went down Kira’s spine. A dead Uzumaki huh? She only wondered what could have happened to the poor kid. Could he have been abducted, killed for his bloodline? The thought make Kira ask him out loud. “Do you the skilled ninja you told me about earlier had something to do with it?” Kira asked, inquiring about the missing ninja who seemed to be allowed to roam free through konoha, killing their skilled warriors. It was quite the sickening though, but if Sal truly though it could be interconnected, it only made her realize it was all the more reason to head to Konoha as soon as possible. If her family was truly there, then they would be at utter risk.
The Uzumaki stood from the bench, putting one of her hands under her chin and walking back and forth. She wondered how much information was too much information shared. If the boy wasn’t thinking it already, he would soon be wondering why she was inquiring about the clan. Besides, she did have the stunningly beautiful red hair that’s practically a trademark to the clan she was trying to hide origins from. Maybe she would die her hair soon.. maybe a barbie blonde, or a sophisticated brunette. Decisions, decisions. Kira peaked towards the probably curious Sal before reverting her attention back to him. She had one more question that could possible lead to a thousand more. “Besides the one you knew, we’re there others? and how long ago has it been since you left?"

Salzem forced his grief down into his stomach and regained his composure. He'd deal with those feelings later, when he's not in public. When Kira asked who the killer might be, Salzem shrugged.
"It could have been another jealous Konoha ninja. It could have been a missing ninja. It doesn't matter now. He's dead, and has been for a long time. I have no leads to his location if he IS alive, nor do I have any leads on his killer if he was murdered. Reddo Uzumaki... is dead." Salzem spoke firmly, loosing all the warmth he had demonstrated before. His smile was just as dead as his friend was, and all that remained was a twisted upside-down reflection. It did strike him as odd why Kira, a Akudachi, would care at all about any of this. Perhaps his earlier suspicions about her were correct and she was hiding her real last name. There was no real point, as she didn't go through any effort to keep her trademark red hair and blue eye a secret. Kira asked if there were others Uzumaki in the village and Salzem replied with nothing more than a shrug. He didn't know. He didn't care, not now anyway. When Kira asked how long it had been since he'd left, Salzem shrugged again.
"I don't know. A week?" Salzem lazily probed his mind for something that would give him a more accurate date. "A week and-a-half just about." Salzem stared at Kira for a moment silently before proposing his question.
"Why do you even care? You told me you were an Akudachi, or was that a lie?"

The tone of the conversation had dropped as if someone ties a wrecking ball to it and it’s poor little wings could not handle the weight! The boy’s insight on the short life of the Uzumaki boy didn’t help her one bit, and left her even more confused than she already was. Not only that, but he was ignorant to the fact of the presence of any other Uzumakis in the village. Bummer. It really was. Even though there was a slight chance her family was there, the percentage seemed to have dropped more than the conversation. She let out a deep sign of frustration, feeling ultimately defeated to the lack of knowledge that she had. It had been about six months since the incident, how could it be possible that she still hadn’t heard from them? With every passing day, she grew more certain that they were indeed dead.
When the boy shrugged to her following two comments, Kira became slightly agitated. Especially towards the one about there being other Uzumaki’s. Assuming Sal had lived there for most of his life, how could he not know of others there? It didn’t make sense. Even if he didn’t know others, surely Reddo’s parents were Uzumakis and they must still be in the village right? So they could possibly know something about her own parents. One could only hope. It hadn’t been long since Sal had left Konoha, so the fact he knew little info of any newly arriving Uzumakis could be taken as a bad sign.
Just as Kira was finally going to reveal her true identity, the sass level brough by the pale man was so strong, Kira did an immediate illegal U-Turn. She didn’t like the tone the boy was giving her, and his manner of speaking was almost like a challenge. A challenge that she would accept. Sure, her hair was red and made her pretty much stand out as the pinnacle of an Uzumaki, but just because she had red hair didn’t mean she was an Uzumaki! Just took at Gaara and Sasori, who were also from the Sand Village and ALSO had red hair. Unless they were secretly Uzumakis, people with red hair could exist without having ties with the clan. “I am an Akudachi.” Kira responded in a melancholy manner, using her impressive drama skills. “I had a friend, just like you who was an Uzumaki. I met her back before I joined Sunagakure. We split ways and she told me she was headed for Konoha. I’m just worried about her.” Kira responded with a raspy voice, as if on the brink of tears. Although she was faking the story, her emotions were quite real, as her thoughts were on her family, specifically her sister. “Her name was Seika, Seika Uzumaki.” Although Kira wouldn’t reveal her own identity, she would reveal that of her sister’s. If he happened to cross paths with her one day, maybe he’d point her towards Kira. One could only hope.
The Uzumaki wiped the little lonely tear the rushed down her face. Her mine was struggling between two very distinct emotions. One being victory over the questioning sassy Sal, and other being defeat over her lost family. It was emotionally exhausting really. Though, she managed to change her demeanour fairly quickly, hitting Sal with the big questions instead. “If you left Konoha, doesn’t that make you a Missing Ninja?” She placed her hands on her hips, as if scolding Salzem for hiding such a truth. She took everything he had said so far as evidence to her accusation.

Re: Upchucks and Little Ducks (IO/NK)

Salzem's internal self continued to freeze, layer upon layer of ice blocking any kind of passage into his heart. Hearing Kira's story, feeling the emotion within it, had the opposite effect of what appeared to be intended. Instead of his heart breaking and feeling Kira's sorrow with her, Salzem only sat silently, alone in his dark, ice caverns of a chest, feeling little more than the hollowness he allowed to form. Salzem never could handle the emotions of other people well. Whether it be his mother, a friend, someone he's never met. He always drew into himself to escape the onslaught of emotion directed his way. This isn't to say he never felt it. He just liked to pretend he didn't. It aches less that way. He had enough pain without everyone else's pouring into him.
He stared at the single tear that collected in Kira's eye. He watched as it traveled down her cheek, beckoned by gravity. He watched as it plopped down into the sand, creating a wet spot for only a moment before the moisture was absorbed into the hot, barren earth below. After that unusual display of real feeling towards Salzem, Kira attempted to mask it with another question: Was he a Missing ninja? Salzem knew this was coming. In fact, he expected it. Despite this, however, he couldn't help but feel slightly offended. Missing Ninja referred to a ninja without a village. What it didn't tell you, and what is silently understood, is that they are criminals who prey on other villages and each other. Even being associated with them was offensive. Salzem's glare burned to life with the fuel of outrage. He locked onto Kira's eyes, almost as if his attempt was to pierce them with his own.
"I'm not a criminal, if that's what you so graciously implied." Salzem quipped with no impishness in his tone. "I left because the Hokage couldn't do his job. I don't prey on the weak." Salzem's voice began to rise with his rage. "I don't hurt people because I want whatever they got. I am a Missing Ninja in the sense that I. Have. No. Home. I'm not a criminal!" He held her gaze for a moment longer, anger rising steadily. Just as the fire appeared to reach it's peak, Salzem turned his head away, eyes falling back to the sand.
"I'm sorry..." He mumbled. His inner ice wall began to crack. When fire meets ice, ice always melts. A few lonely tears dripped from his eyes and down his cheeks, eventually joining with the sand as Kira's had. Even though he was a trained assassin, seasoned fighter, and proclaimed criminal of the leaf, Salzem was only 15. No matter how tough he acted, and no matter how many extreme his feats of strength he showed off, he was but a child. A hurt, lonely, and abandoned child.
"I'm sorry..." He said again, slightly louder. He didn't even know who he was saying it to anymore. Kira, his parents, his living friends, the deceased ones, himself? Maybe he was saying it to all of them. He didn't know and apologizing only made him ache even more.
