Is THIS Your Card?! (P, NK)
Wed Oct 21, 2015 5:31 pm
"Gather 'round folks for the greatest display of magic you'll see this side of the Wind Country!" Hato exclaimed, shamelessly promoting himself in the most crowded of places in Sunagakure, the training grounds! While he may not get desperately needed money from this display of pure skill and wonder, or any of them as a matter of fact, the joy that he brought to the faces of the masses was more than enough to make up for it. "Witness the impossible as I effortlessly guess the correct answer to any and all questions you may have! As long as they're lead up to by me." He said as a wandering ninja was listening in "What was that last bit?" the ninja asked. "As I effortlessly guess the correct answer to any and all questions you may have, I said!" He said pointing out to a nearby ninja who happened to not be all that occupied with what he was supposed to be doing. "YOU! My first volunteer! Come, come!" He yelled, motioning for the young ninja to come up to his clearly poorly built stage, looking as though it would collapse any second now. "Um," The young ninja replied "Now then child," He said as he reached down and grabbed the young ninja by his collar, lifting him up onto the stage. "For my first trick, I will answer anything you may ask of me correctly! Go on then, ask away!" He yelled in his standard loud, alluring voice which still somehow managed to be quite annoying to most. "Um," The young ninja said before a brief pause "What's my favorite color?" "Incorrect!" Hato yelled at the child, pushing him off the stage lightly "That is the wrong question. Now, for my next trick!" He said, pulling out a deck of cards, a small crowd of younger ninja gathering around by now and all letting out a sigh of disappointment as he brought the deck of cards from his sleeve.
"Fret not children, for this shall be a trick you have never seen before! A variation of my own on an old classic!" He said, the children clearly beginning to lose interest in his show after just one trick! The ungrateful bastards! In a moment of slight desperation to keep his crowd, he managed to do one of the many tricks he learned to do with cards over the years as a simple warm-up to the incoming magnificence of his next one. The cards in his hand sprung into the air in a perfect arc over his head, landing in his other outstretched hand, one of the rigged cards actually setting ablaze unintentionally in the air. Uh oh he thought as the card went up in flames just before the rest landed perfectly in his hand. Surprisingly enough, it was followed by applause from the young ninjas surrounding his make-shift stage. Apparently they enjoyed the flashier tricks rather than the tricks of the mind. Noticing that, he decided to lay off the "IS THIS YOUR CARD?!" trick and figured he should quit while he was ahead. Wait, no, he decided to garner even greater fame with another trick of his own design! His best trick, a trick that even the greats couldn't possibly match! "Now that you have seen my prowess in the art of magic, I will show you my greatest trick! No... my greatest ability!" He yelled,Fully releasing his power-level taking off his top-hat and tossing it into the air while simultaneously tossing all fifty one cards up. After throwing all of the objects into the air, he quickly twirled his cape in front of himself and ducked down, quickly opening a make-shift trapdoor while the crowd was focused on the objects in the air, falling inside and closing it long before any of them came to the ground. This was the epitome of crappy magic tricks; the disappearing act. From the little hovel he had beneath the stage, he listened in on the young ninja just outside of what essentially was a wooden box. Some were less than impressed, other less intelligent ninja stupified by the trick and clapping furiously. I have succeeded. I am now... famous! He thought from his crouched down position, waiting for the crowd to disperse before going out to retrieve his things, making sure none of them touched his hat. That thing was expensive damn it, and he wasn't going to let one of these kids take it. Fortunately, none of them were total pricks and left his things alone. He waited for a moment to make sure nobody was watching when he exited the stage to grab his things and then came out, grabbing his top-hat and leaving the cards. Not playing fifty two card pick-up today. Er, fifty one

Kyofu was walking around the sand village with his kefr hand out forward rotating invisible chakra above his hand to get control of both the wind and himself. This practice was required in order for him to learn the Spiraling Ring jutsu. He thought the practice was intelligent as it helped the user in alot of ways."Gather around folks for the greatest display of magic you'll seeon this side of the wind country " said a booming voice coming from Kyofu's right. Deciding that he had nothing better to do Kyofu would go into the direction of the voice to see a oncoming crowd that was quite rowdy as if they were expecting this "magician".
Kyofu was sure that even if the man knew how to perform magic he was only using his chakra. Making his way forward in the crowd to get a better view the man would scream again saying "Witness the impossible as I effortlessly guess the correct answer the any and all questions you have. As long as they are lead up by me " Kyofu turned around finally realising that it was just another one of those knock off ninja who thought they were something else." You my first volunteer come come " said the man. As Kyofu walked he saw people staring right into his eyes. He turned around and saw that the man was pointing directly at a kid next to him. Kyofu let out a sigh of relief thinking he was gonna be one of those oddballs.
Kyofu decided to turn around seeing as he did not want to get picked next. The kid that was next to him ran up to the guy as the guy said "Now then child " grabbing the kid by the collar of his shirt as if he was some kind of kut hoisting him upon the stage in which he stood. The man had told the kid to ask a question with the kid replying with "What's my favorite color " said the kid. The man gave the child a slight push off the stage making the kid fall directly on the back of his neck seeing as his momentum was not steady. Kyofu at a accelerating speed would appear right behind the kid who was now crying." Are you ok kid " said Kyofu as he raised the back if the kid's head up not wanting to hurt him. The people around him looked down as the kid nodded his head. Kyofu would hand the kid to a nearby adult and face the magician.
Or whatever the hell the man was who thought he could just throw around random people." Who the hell do you think you are doing a innocent kid like that " said Kyofu as his hand were slowly moving towards each other.

Hato looked about at the crowd, seeing another young ninja that was different to the others, mostly in that he actually showed even the slightest compassion for a person whom had taken a minor strike to the head. It was hardly Hato's fault, the kid was just clumsy, and besides, he didn't ask the right question. "Who do you think you are?" was all Hato heard before spinning his cape in an overly dramatic fashion and looking off into the distance. "I am the one, the only, Tuxedo Mask! Hato Nagatomi! The greatest magician to travel these lands, or streets rather. I come from the far off land of monks and nature, bringing with me their secrets and wonders to the poor bored souls of Sunagakure!" He said. He had been waiting all day for someone to ask this; no, all his life! Finally, the chance to tell everyone who he was without sounding like a self-absorbed prick, though he was also exactly that. "Are you my next volunteer?! I won't toss you off the stage, promise." He said quiet enough that most of the surrounding ninja wouldn't hear him. He didn't have an especially large number of tricks that involved volunteers, but he didn't see any reason why he couldn't do another if there were a willing victim volunteer. He motioned for the boy to come on stage, hoping that his firey attitude wouldn't cause too much damage to his props were he to show that attitude on the stage. "I've got just the trick for you!" He exclaimed as he thought of what he was going to do next. Nothing was actually coming to mind, so he figured he would just wing it if it came to that.
Hato wasn't often considered to be a mean person, and he never thought himself to be one. He did, however have a penchant for tossing people off of his stage when they didn't go along with his tricks. He weren't actually good enough to go with what the volunteer did, which was something he worked on in private, and so would comedically throw them off. He didn't take into account that he were doing this show for a group of ninja who were still mostly pre-pubescent, however. He certainly weren't feeling any remorse whatsoever though, considering he was far too into the act to even notice that the kid he tossed off the stage was hurt. This show is going quite well He thought, clearly not reading the crowd as well as any normal person would have been able to.

As soon as the boy made his I am the one and only line Kyofu would say "I don't want to know who you are". He saw that the crowd was slowly leaving seeing as the so called magician did not know what he was doing. Only Kyofu and the boy who revealed himself as Hato was still here."Now you can look and see that the crowd that was once here knows you are nothing but a lie. A ninja trying to be a Magician?" said Kyofu angrily. If he was not so impatient he would have already raised his left hand and shot a legion of threads right at the man's spleen. But he remembered his promise to Koroshi. Kyofu did not want any people on his back as of yet. If Kyofu did not do something yet he was sure that he would burst into anger.
Slowly he would say "Let's settle this out with a duel. User can use anything in their arsenal". Of course Kyofu was already 5 meters in front of Hato so if the man tried something funny Kyofu would surely have enough time to react and avoid the man's attack. However Kyofu also wanted to see what the man was made of. Surely he wasn't all bark and no fight.

A duel! The perfect chance for Hato to show just how capable a magician he actually was and win back his crowd. What gave this kid the idea that he could go around ruining a man's magic show anyway? Hato was certain that he had done nothing wrong, and aimed to prove that no matter what this ninja said, that he was the greatest magician to cross these lands! Well, except for that one guy that actually seemed to be doing real magic back at the monastery. Still, he was the best Sunagakure had ever seen for sure, and nothing would convince him otherwise. Doing a sort of flourish where he spun his cape around dramatically, he looked directly into Kyofu's eyes from the stage. "I accept your challenge, my gracious volunteer." He said with a smirk on his face just before hopping an oddly long distance away, some thirty feet in the opposite direction of Kyofu, showing that even though he weren't exactly a great magician for now, he were still a competent ninja. With the stage between them now, he put a hand into the air. "Come one, come all! Bear witness to the greatest spar this side of the Wind Country!" He yelled, advertising with essentially the exact same spiel that he used for the magic show just a moment ago. "As is custom, my challenger shall have the first move. Come at me!" Hato yelled, still using his announcing voice as though he were showing the crowd a trick.
For all Hato knew, Kyofu were at the most a new chuunin. There weren't all that many chuunin that actually got the rank at such a young age, but seeing as he thought he could best the greatest magician this side of the Wind Country, he had to be at least somewhere around his level of skill and grace, though matching his grace was impossible. Moving away from the performance personality for a moment, Hato actually watched his opponent carefully, studying his body and eye movements as best he could to get a read on what exactly he were going to be doing to start things, unless of course for whatever reason he decided that it would be best to simply wait and see what Hato would do. That would just be boring though.

Kyofu would only ignore the male and say " you know what I don't have time for this and I have a tournament to train for so I'll talk to you later " said Kyofu as he turned around and began running at the speed of 68 while simultaneously raising his left hand and pouring chakra up above it so he could get a feeling on what the spiraling ring jutsu felt like.

Of course. How could Hato have possibly expected a man to actually so much as attempt to outdo him? Obviously the only explanation for what the ninja said in response was that he realized he would only embarrass himself if he were to duel Hato in front of this crowd. "I apologize, I should not have accepted your" Was all Hato managed to get out before the ninja dashed off at an incredible pace, causing Hato to simply stand and stare for a good five seconds as he let his cape fall from the sudden gust of wind, his pointer finger in the air and his mouth still open as though he were speaking. "Challenge." He finished, putting his arm down and wiping the dust and sand from his tuxedo. "Well, that's all for today folks, no box sawing, no disappearing. I've got to find out what kind of trick that was!" Hato yelled to the crowd before hopping off the stage and moving at a brisk jog towards the village, accidentally dropping one of the sets of flowers he had in his sleeves as he did so. Hato didn't care for that though. He always seemed to have flowers up his sleeve, even when he distinctly remembers not putting them there. This was no time to be worrying about flowers anyway. He needed to get to work on new tricks to surpass that whole being fast thing that the young ninja did to get away from his overwhelming greatness. Nearing the village, Hato found that he still happened to have a set of flowers in his sleeves somehow and pulled them out with a small puff of confetti, tossing them into a crowd of swooning women, or at least what he thought was a crowd of swooning women. In reality they were just a bunch of women surprised at what some shop keeper was showing them, turning around staring oddly at Hato as the flowers landed. Hato didn't see this part, as he was already on his way back to his home and was out of sight by the time he was calm enough to look around again. Slamming his hand into the door of his home and making it smash into the wall rather loudly, Hato yelled to the others he expected to be inside. "Oh have I got something to show you two! Watch and be amazed!" He yelled as the door slowly closed and his two brothers who were in the middle of eating let out a sigh.
