Looking for a home

Dante had finally made it to the gates of the leaf village. It was raining and his cloak was soaked but he kept it on so his clothes wouldn't get wet. He knew this was his chance for a new start. As the lightning flashed across the sky, he stepped through the gates and stopped only a foot through the gates and patiently waited. He knew someone would eventually show up.

Today started just like any other day for Jace. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary at all. He woke up early in the morning, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes. Stumbling half awake, he made his way into the upstairs bathroom to shower and brush his teeth. When he was finished he made his way back into his room to get dressed. He managed to pull on his normal black pants, mesh undershirt and white jacket with the Uchiha symbol stitched into the back just between the shoulder blades. Ending his morning routine, he tied on his shinobi headband to cover his forehead. Today was a big day for him. He had been assigned to gate guard duty. It might not seem like a big deal but it was Jace's first official 'mission' since he had become a Genin. 

After a hearty breakfast consisting of pancakes, bacon, eggs, a banana and some orange juice, he made his way over to the gate and took his place in the booth. Some tired looking jounin had been keeping watch over the gates until Jace had relieved him. After taking his seat, Jace pulled over the clipboard that listed the names and ranks of everyone appointed to guard duty and signed in before pushing it aside. 

The hours passed very slowly for Jace. He hadn't realized how boring it was to sit in the booth and sign travel papers all day long. Nothing interesting had happened at all. The weather was even gloomy here. The sky was dark and the roar of thunder could be heard loud and clear throughout the village. About noon, there was a boy that had walked in through the gates and just stood there. He looked like he was waiting for something. Doing his job, Jace put on his best smile and waved at the boy. "Hey there! I need you to come over here and fill out the paperwork before I let you int-"

He had started on his usual lines that he had rehearsed and used on every other person coming through the gates today, but something was off about the boy in front of him. Jace felt like he had seen him before. His demeanor changed from one of friendliness to a serious tone. "Who are you?"

Jace listened as the.boy spoke. He said something about having a twin sister who was in konoha. Apparently her name was Sephy or something like that. Jace had never seen or heard of her before. He continued to say he was from the volcano village. He had said he had left his village a while back. Jace didn't see a headband on him either. Jace's eyes activated on instinct, feeling that something was off. The brilliant see of green swirled and began to change into a beautiful crimson laced with a single black tomoe just outside of his iris. The boy seemed to be a missing ninja seeking refuge. Jace quickly got up from his seat behind the booth and walked to stand in front of the booth facing the boy 5 meters away from him. He let his eyes wander over the boy, picking up every detail possible. 

[b][color=red]"Do you have any paperwork for your travels?"[/cor][/b Jace would ask the boy. He knew at this point the answer would be no but he still had to ask. The boy didn't seem to harbor any ill will toward Jace or the village but he couldn't be sure. The protocol for missing ninja was vastly different from that of ordinary citizens or ninja from other villages. In fact he was most likely going to have to detain the boy for questioning by the large or an anbu member. Jace stood there watching the boy as he waited for an answer.

Well that wasn't good. This kid was definitely a missing ninja. Unfortunately the protocol for dealing with missing nin was much different than that of ninja from other villages with the proper paperwork or even returning Konoha natives. Jace would have to take this Dante kid to be detained until he was properly questioned. This was not something he felt ready to do. Jace didn't think he had enough training and skill to do this without any harm to himself if the kid decided to fight. Man he was really hoping there wouldn't be a fight. 

"I see. Well, Dante, unfortunately I'm going to have to take you into questioning before you're allowed to freely roam the village. We've had trouble with missing ninja in the past so this is just a precaution. I don't want to fight you if I don't have to so please just cooperate so we can get this over quickly and you can go about your business." With that, Jace would wait to see how the boy responded. Hopefully he would just cooperate and things wouldn't get too messy.

It seemed violence would not be necessary after all. The one called Dante agreed to come willingly with Jace. The young Uchiha would smile at the other boy, somewhat apologetically for the circumstances. He sent word for a replacement while he took the boy to the jail where he would wait until he was questioned by either a member of the ANBU or the Hokage himself. They didn't have to wait long before a leaf Chuunin came to relieve Jace of his post. Finally, he would turn to Dante and tell him to follow Jace. After a few moments of silence as they walked through the village, they arrived at the jail. Jace led Dante inside and filled out the paperwork and put Dante in a holding cell for the time being. Once all of that was taken care of, Jace would leave the jail and send word to the official channels to send someone to question the boy. Since the Chuunin had taken over for Jace, he decided to play hookie for the rest of the day. Maybe he could meet up with Snow or Ita. Who knew?

Its cool, I apologize for my absence, loss of internet and such. Thank you for not killing me, I have noticed others around here are usually not so kind.

Approving the imprisoning, hope you get free soon Dante. <3
