Yoshinaga Yumi, Togirama Hyuuga & Ryu Reinhard

"Heh, heh, heh," Yoshi laughed awkwardly and uncontrollably.

He thinks I'm his mother, I've damaged his brain! she thought as the young Hyuuga babbled unconsciously.

When Ryu's healing jutsu was finished and Togi's eyes opened, Yoshi got to her feet.  He was not dead, and he seemed to be okay.

"Thank goodness you're okay.  I, uh, threw my water canteen at you.  That's why you're on the ground," Yoshi explained, still sounding awkward.

Yoshi took a step backwards to give the boy some room to stand up.  After the boy got up and dusted himself off, Yoshi was surprised to see the boy bowing an apologizing.   

"Er, you don't have to apologize.  Uh, I should not have thrown my canteen at you.  I should be the one apologizing.  I'm sorry I hurt you.  You were only trying to show us your technique and did not know it was flawed.  But, uh, the n-next time y-you try the Transformation Jutsu make sure to give yourself c-clothes.  Even if you don't know what they're ... w-wearing." Yoshi told Togi.

When apologies and explanations were said, Yoshi let out a long audible sigh.  Being a Genin was much more difficult than she realized.  And how was she ever going to being a Jounin?  How was she ever going to lead a Genin team of her own?  Yoshi tried to compose herself and move on, but she had never before been so utterly embarrassed.  The young girl wished to flee the scene, but she forced herself to stay.

"B-better to mess up now, than to do so when preforming the jutsu for the proctor at the academy.  Had you not preformed it for us, things could have turned out badly!"

"You really clonked him hard, huh?" Ryu said jokingly towards Yumi as he let continued letting chakra flow into the top of Togi's head. Probably best not to ask him about any of what he just said, he must have been hit really hard, he thinks Yoshi is his mother.


Ryu didn't answer the question of why he was knocked out, he let Yoshi steer that conversation. Well I'm glad everyone has apologized and clothed. The genin tried not to look at Yoshi too much during her conversation as it may have embarrassed her further.

"Yoshi is correct, it is better to make mistakes now than during the test." Come to think of the genin exam I'm pretty sure Togi mentioned not knowing the substitution technique. Beckoning the young ninja over Ryu looked confused as the boy didn't move. Oh, yeah hes blind. "So, Togi have you learned how to use substitution yet?

"Ah I see that explains why my head feels a little sore..." Togi replied calmly before realising that Yoshi had asked if he was ok. "I am quite well other than a little soreness but I must admit I have endured a lot worse when trying to master th use of my chakra" the young Hyuuga replied.
 
"Thankyou for accepting my apology senpai but you have no need to apologise either" Togi declared. A thoughtful look then appeared on Togi's face. "That is indeed quite the conundrum... you see I can not sense your clothes, only you... I shall have to give this some thought..." Togi declared.
 
Togi then gave a small smile "Those were my thoughts exactly and was entirely the reason that I wanted to first show someone else my jutsu before I demonstrated them for the instructors at the academy" Togi replied.
 
Togi then turned his attention towards the sound of Ryu's voice "I have studied the jutsu senpai but I have not yet had chance to perform the technique. The hand seals are fairly long for this one I believe they are Tiger, Boar, Ox, Dog, Snake" Togi replied as he slowly ran through the hand seals with out applying chakra. "If you could perhaps throw something in my direction I could perhaps give it a go... though I would suggest not aiming for my head" Togi declared with a small smile in Yoshi's direction.
 
"If you could just give me a moment I would first like to run through the hand seals a few time..." Togi exclaimed as he brought his hands together "Tiger, Boar, Ox, Dog, Snake. Tiger, Boar, Ox, Dog, Snake. Tiger, Boar, Ox, Dog, Snake" Togi repeated out loud untill he was happy with forming the required hand seals in a string.
 
"Ok I am ready..." Togi then declared as he waited for someone to throw something at him.
 
As soon as he sensed the throw Togi began to perform hand seals while moulding chakra, his seals were accurate, precise and well formed however he only got to the third handseal when whatever was thrown slammed in to him causing him to let out a small 'oof' in surprise.
 
"Hmmm I do not appear to be doing my handseals fast enough could we please try that again..." Togi requested politely before taking a ready stance with two hands pressed together.
 
Once something was thrown again Togi immediately began going through his hand seals trying his best to go faster than before and indeed he did... however not fast enough. This time Togi reached the fourth handseal but did not complete the jutsu.
 
"It seems I was correct I do indeed need to work on my speed..." Togi declared with a frown "Could we try that again one more time please" Togi then asked again.
 
On the third throw Togi had an intense look of concentration on his face and his performance of the seals seemed to go a lot quicker and a lot smoother. Just as Togi was about to be hit there was a burst of chakra smoke and the young Hyuuga was replaced by a nearby log. Togi meanwhile appeared a short distance away with a wide smile on his face beaming with pride.
 
Happily marching back to rejoin the pair of genin Togi retook his ready stance once again. "Could we try that one final time there is something I would like to try to make sure I have properly learnt the technique." Togi requested with a small smile at the corner of his lips.
 

As soon as one of the Genin made the throw Togi quickly ran through the hand seals while moulding his chakra and once again as he was hit the young academy student vanished as was replaced by a nearby log. This time however when Togi had finished the handseals for the substitution jutsu he had immediately begun the hand seals for another. When Togi reappeared there was therefore not one of him but three identical copies and they were all surrounding the genin who had made the throw. The three identical hyuuga then dropped down low in to the opening stance of the gentle fist.

Yoshi took out from her person a leather-bound ball and tossed it up in the air before catching it again. 

"We can use this if you like.  It is merely a leather ball," Yoshi told Togi.  "Though like my canteen, I doubt it has a chakra signature.  You will have to react to my throw.  Sense how fast I move my arms while I throw the ball at you."

When Togi was ready, Yoshi tossed the ball at him much slower than when she had threw her canteen at him.  Yoshi also made sure to not aim for the poor student's head.  Further injury was not what young genin had in mind.  But as expected, the blind Hyuuga was not fast enough with hand seals.  This reminded her of the day Salzem helped teach her the technique.  She too wasn't fast enough, but Yoshi had her eyesight.

If only I knew how to infuse my chakra into the ball.  That would make it easier for Togi to see it, Yoshi thought as she threw the ball for the student for a second time.

"Remember, watch my movements.  See how I use my body to throw the ball?  The ball will travel wherever my hand goes on the follow-through.  Watch for it," Yoshi said trying to offer Togi some encouragement.

Yoshi threw the ball again and this time her words seemed to sink in.  Togi was faster and seemed to react to her movements.  In a puff of smoke, Togi was replaced with a piece of log.  When Togi wished to try the jutsu again just to make sure he had it down, Yoshi smiled.


"Of coursre.  Here it comes."

Yoshi was impressed with the boy's determination.  She could feel his desire to succeed.  This energy made her anxious.  The two ninja standing before her were talented individuals.  If she did not train harder than them, she would get left in the dust!  

"Very good, Togi-san.  I believe you've grasped both techniques.  You'll graduate for sure.  Just, uh, remember to add clothes," Yoshi said to Togi.  Then she turned to Ryu, "Well I think that is sufficient for today. I'll see you around!"

Yoshi waved goodbye to both Ryu and Togi and ran home.

Ryu watched as Togi made the seals, as each one was correct the only thing the academy student really needed to work on was his speed and chakra control. He'll definately be a genin before long. We can do missions and stuff as a team. While Ryu was wrapped up in his own head he noticed something flying into Togi's direction. Oh, no. Not again. Even if Ryu attempted to stop the flying object it would be too late, so he only watched as a ball smacked lightly into the ninja's chest. A ball? He looked at the placement of Togi's hands and finally came to the conclusio he was performing substitution. And here I thought it was a metal canteen.


Watching the rest of the training going on between Yoshi and Togi, Ryu decided to sit on the ground and observe. Upon, seeing the determination within the young ninja to get the jutsu right he knew at that moment Togi would succeed at that moment and just as predcted the ninja disappeared. "Sweet." Ryu said sending a thumbs up to the ninja.

After the ninjas second attempt at the jutsu, Togi took up an odd pose. "Whats that?" Asked Ryu quizzically as he had never witnessed the form before. Looks like its for taijutsu. I'm not very good at taijutsu, so he could probably show me more about that, but its getting pretty late. Ryu yawned and mid-yawn Yoshi told Ryu she was leaving. Ryu said his goodbyes and let the kunoichi wander off. "Make sure to pass the genin exams, so that we can form team Yotory." Ryu said to Togi looking over the student. "You've got what it takes now you only need to apply it. You can call me whenever you need or just come over to my house." With that Ryu waved oblivious once again that the boy may have not seen it. "Later!"

Togi smiled to himself  pleasantly surprised at how well prepared that Yoshi was in having a leather ball that could be used for substitution practice he was also pleasantly surprised that when the Genin threw the ball she threw it fairly softly so when it invariably hit him it did not hit him that hard.

Togi then listened carefully to the advice that Yoshi gave, it was good advice but the young hyuuga already had a method of working out the location of objects that did not contain chakra.

Once he was done a wide smile spread across Togi and the two clones' faces. All three then simultaneously bowed. "Thank you for your kind words Yoshi-senpai and thank you for all your help I feel that I have learnt a lot and I shall put it to good use" the academy student. Togi then chuckled "Yes senpai clothes are important I shall remember that!" Togi added with a smile. "Thank you once again i hope to see you soon senpai" Togi called out as the girl made her exit.

"Thankyou Ryu-senpai I shall do my best and thankyou for all your help aswell" Togi declared bowing once again. A puzzled expression then appeared on the young Hyuuga's face as Ryuu dashed off. 'He did not tell me where he lives how does he expect me to come to his house?' Togi silently questioned 'Unless thats a test though now that I have memorised his chakra signature I am sure I could find it...' Togi silently added.

With his training over for the day Togi decided to jog home.
