Loss of Humanity (Ascendance)

It was the darkest night Salzem could imagine, shadows creeping closer like black, sentient walls. Darkness... a ninja's best friend now his worst menace. It seemed to want something from him... demanding without words or pattern. His blood boiled in the night and his stomach turned. A full moon whiter than ivory hung in the abyss of the night sky. Salzem hadn't noticed it yet but that didn't matter. His body reacted on it's own. It was as if his active mind had faded into a place of static.... Everything felt like a dream, even as he transformed into his white-wolf form. It felt like a dream as his stomach turned and tossed. It felt like a dream as a hefty portion of his chakra congregated and seemed to solidify in his gut. His lower body seemed to expand, taking on the shape of a woman 8 months pregnant in a matter of seconds and it only got larger. The weight of the bulge caused Salzem to fall over on his expanding stomach before flopping on his back, heaving like a cat with a hair ball in its throat. He thrashed about on the ground, chest heaving off the sand, fingers clenching and clenching, eyes bulging out of their sockets. Slowly, the bulge inched up from Salzem belly it his chest, still getting larger and larger still, threatening to split the flesh of the werewolf in half. farther and farther did the lump climb until it filled his throat and mouth. His mouth held a great weight, almost as if he were attempting to swallow an anvil but, as his tongue was forced to caress the strange mound within his mouth, he discovered it felt something like... cloth...? how could that be...? Salzem tried to open his mouth, to force out the strange bulge from his body but he just couldn't force his jaws open wide enough. In a desperate act, Salzem forced his jaw open with his hands, dislocating it from its hinges. With a growl of pain, he attempted to hurl up the substance spawned from his body yet again. This time, Salzem was able to cough up the lump, causing it to splat on the ground not 5 feet in front of him. Salzem rolled onto his belly, heaving and gasping, feeling much weaker than before. It was as if someone had torn his strength to shreds and handed him the remains. Salzem got to his feet (or rather, back paws) attempting to change back like normal. He looked confused, normally only needing to think about his base form to return to it. It just wouldn't....... work....? Salzem looked down at his wolven form, confused, before motion ahead caught his eye. About 5 feet in front of him, the lump, covered in his saliva started to move. Previously obscured by the darkness, now rose to some humanoid shape. Salzem looked deeper and saw that, standing before him just as confused as he was, was him.... A human version of himself stared back at him, sanguine eyes meeting sanguine eyes. He wore Salzem's clothes, had his mask, his weapons... It was as if Salzem had created a complete and perfect copy of himself... For just a moment, Salzem tried to make sense of this. For a moment, Salzem tried to think through what had just transpired and that he had just vomited himself up. Then, everything went black.
When his senses returned to him, the moon was no longer in the sky. When his senses returned to him, blood dripped from his mouth and from his claws. When his senses returned to him, he was kneeling over his gored and gutted human self. Strange... Salzem didn't feel anything for what he had done. Nor remorse, no guilt, no satisfaction. Salzem had simply.... just done it and there was nothing more than the reality of the situation. Salzem stood slowly, only the enticing smell of human blood dripping from his mouth being the only thing his senses would detect, and with eery accuracy. Salzem stood over the corpse of his human form, as if contemplating whether or not to finish what he started. His new brain contemplated this slowly, still not quite registering that he, by definition had committed suicide (killing one's self) The sanguine eyed wolf mumbled a few words, checking if he could speak. He could... He picked up the corpse of his previous body, one arm holding the legs, the other wrapped around the neck. He disappeared into the sand beyond the village, intent on finding a grave for his deceased form. Although his new mind couldn't quite understand why, something small inside him demanded the deed. He didn't quite have the energy to resist, so he might as well comply. It didn't really matter where so Salzem began digging. Using his claws, he carved mound after mound of dried earth, carving a small cylindrical hole upon the center of the dune. Within a quick hour, the white wolf had dug an unmarked grave for his deceased human form. He silently placed the human body inside the grave and covered it quickly. Satisfied, in a macabre sort of way, Salzem the werewolf prowled back to Sunagakure.
