Training In a Hidden Field (Private/Solo)
Mon May 09, 2016 6:23 pm
Takamitsu's eyes open, staring up at his bedroom ceiling, rays of light filtering in from his thin bedroom blinds. He sits up and stretches, sleepily reaching over to his bedside table to grab his headband. Passing the Genin Exam wasn't some far off dream, it was as real as the bed he was lying in and the headband that he held in his hand. He sleepily tied it to his forehead as he got dressed, preparing for training. Takamitsu, despite just becoming a genin, wasn't going to take any time off to celebrate. He was going to learn the Body Flicker Technique, something he had already decided on the night before. He had seen it done before by his former instructors and fellow ninja, and now it was his turn to try and learn the ropes of this new technique.
He dashed out of his house and ran along the rooftops of the village, headed for a set of open fields outside the village. It wasn't a place he had been to before, he had only heard about it from the ninja that had helped out around the academy, so half of his training time he set apart today would likely be purely trying to figure out where he was going. The wind whipped through his hair as his feet planted on the side of the Konoha's walls. Using his chakra to attach to the hard surface, he began to run parallel to the ground towards the gate. As he moved, he formed the hand sign for the Body Flicker Technique, attempting to use the chakra to speed him up. Instead of getting the boost of speed that he hoped to, his feet sent small cracks through the wall. His feet detached, leaving him to freefall towards the ground, narrowly rolling to soften his landing and avoid major injury. He formed the sign again as he approached the gate, and although he felt like he went slightly faster, it was likely just his mind playing tricks. He jumped up to the trees, putting his hands together once more to no avail.
He sighed, taking a deep breath. A few beads of sweat had formed on his forehead, he had been running at nearly top speed for a long time now, and it was starting to wear on him. Takamitsu grabbed onto a tree branch, swinging up to stop his momentum. He looked up at the sky, thinking about how far ahead most ninja his age are compared to him. His teeth clenched slightly, it wasn't out of frustration or anger, he was feeling competitive. Takamitsu wanted to prove that he would become a more skilled ninja than the others that had left him behind, and he'd need to subject himself to even harder training than he has so far. After thinking about this, he worked through his growing fatigue and attempted the jutsu one more time as he headed towards the training field. He felt as though he made slight progress, but he wasn't positive. With the fields fast approaching, Takamitsu dropped to the ground and walked forward, completely out of breath. He lied down in the grass, panting, waiting until he regained some sort of stamina before continuing to train.
When he finally rose to his feet, more than an hour had passed, and he spent all of that time lazing about and looking at clouds instead of thinking of how to improve his technique. Takamitsu took a deep breath, reforming the hand sign that the Body Flicker Technique required. He took his process step by step, analyzing each step and thinking of methods to improve individual sections of the jutsu. He was able to pinpoint most of his problems on the chakra control, and in further attempts he'd try to more evenly distribute the correct amount of chakra around his body. Additionally, he noted that he was likely using too much chakra, and due to the uneven distribution, this chakra was being wasted instead of serving any sort of use to him.
He started to run down the open field, forming the hand sign. He couldn't do the jutsu from a dash, he likely would be unable to do it from a standstill. Takamitsu began to take a necessary amount of chakra and spread it through his body, attempting to increase his speed. Much to his delight, he was able to hasten his pace, though not quite to the extent he was hoping. He was able to run just a tad faster, not enough to serve any tactical advantage and a plain waste of excess chakra. He tried it again, putting much more emphasis on better control of his chakra. Takamitsu, for a few seconds, gained a rather large burst of speed, he was making progress.
After several more minutes of rigorous training, Takamitsu was now exponentially increasing his speed from a full speed dash. On his way back to the village, he was hoping to be able to perform the jutsu from a standstill, and to be able to reach speeds he was still unable to. He turned towards the open field's tree line, taking in the lush green scenery. It was going to be one of the few times today where he was still enough to admire the natural beauty that the Land of Fire had, so he took a few moments to observe the forest around him. He looked up at the branches before quickly leaping to them, running through the leaves on the way to Konoha. He took a deep breath before bringing his hands together to form the hand signs, preparing to use the jutsu again. He could feel his increased ability as he quickly moved from branch to branch, leaving small puffs of smoke in his wake. The wind heavily picked up as he moved, leaving him to have to put more effort into his traveling. After several minutes of traveling, he found himself outside of the front gate, dripping with sweat and with a small grin on his face. He approached the village, forming the hand sign. Takamitsu seemed to disappear, leaving several small, bright blue sparks behind him.
