Volunteering at the Academy (Yassin; Open)
Thu Nov 03, 2016 7:48 pm
Sitting at home thinking about all that has changed in his short time so far in Suna, Nobu realizes that he hasn’t been as involved in stuff going on around the village. His worries for his allies had stolen much of his motivation away from doing much other than sitting around at his home. It was rather sad, to see someone who was so driven and passionate to fall into a slump, ignoring most of his training and duties. How could he ever aspire to be the best when he wasn’t training to be the best?
“Wonder how those kids at the Academy are doing. Haven’t been back for any follow up on their progress.” Nobu walks over to the fridge and pulls out some cool water in a bottle. Twisting off the cap, he pours some water into his parched mouth, twists the cap back on, and wipes his mouth with the sleeve of his cloak. Refreshed, he heads out and walks around the village.
Sunagakure as a whole felt… quiet. Not much had seemed to be going on. It felt like a stark contrast to the bustle of when the Festival had been going on. He had hardly seen any shinobi in the streets anymore, and those that he did notice seemed to be fairly busy on official village business. Even the Kazekage himself had seemed to be swamped with paperwork or such. He had barely been seen in the village as of late, and Nobu couldn’t help but worry about the well being of the man.
Casually making his way through the peaceful village streets, he winds up near the Academy building. His thoughts shifting back to the kids that he and his team had trained, he walks in and wanders the halls. The security felt surprisingly lax, but since the village was currently at peace and the Leaf shinobi in the village were trusted allies, it made sense. Nobu would walk around and look in the various classrooms by peering through the glass on the doors. The students seemed to be fairly happy, and the teacher was laughing about something. These folks were lucky. They were being taught by someone kind and supportive. The odds of them going through any life threatening training was minimal. It was a rather pleasant experience, though they might not see it that way.
A smile would cross his face and he would head out to the area behind the building that was used for recess and physical training. Sitting down in the shade of the wall, Nobu would pull out his water bottle and take another sip. He would wait here for the students to come out with their instructor and ask if he would be able to practice with them. Considering his focus on Taijutsu, some physical conditioning with the kids should prove to be a simple task.

Yassin sat in class as his instructor continued his lesson on the history of Suna, but Yassins mind was miles away. He was beyond ready to get out of here and be free from this place, able to move forward with his life and become the powerful ninja that he so strives to become. But sitting here in this class listing to this lesson was boring him to death. He had heard this lesson more times than he could count and could tell the story of the village as if it was written on the back of his hand. He sat in the back right corner of the class, as some would say out of sight out of mind and being the quite person he was he was invisible anyway so what did it matter anyway.
The sunlight streamed in from the window illuminating the room. For a moment he just stared out of the window at the training area where he really wanted to be. Much rather be there than here, there he could actually do work and actually focus. That is when he noticed the robed figure leaning against a tree towards the back of the training area. Now this was something that sparked his interest. Who was that out there? He knew he could sneak out unnoticed if he really wanted to but question was if it was worth the trouble if he was caught.
Yassin made up his mind and once his instructor had his back turned Yassin quickly slipped from his desk and crept for the back door. No one turned or even noticed his movement, as he silently opened the door and slid out closing the door just as quietly. He quickly but quietly made his way down the hall to the door to the outside. Luckily no one had been patrolling the halls today or he would have had to get real creative on his escape. As he reached the end of the hall to the door to the outside he looked around him to make sure he wasn't being followed or watched and when he was sure he wasn't followed his slipped out the back door.
Once outside he made his way to where he saw the robed figure leaned against the tree and thankfully whoever it was they were still there. As he walked over he tried to make out the person but there face was covered by a hood but they looked to have the build of a man. Once he was close enough Yassin spoke saying. "Hey mind if I join you?" He tried to sound kind but at the same time not venerable.

Enjoying the his water, Nobu notices what looks like a student sneaking out of the building and making sure not to make any loud noises. Of course, without any headband there was also the chance that it was a foreign shinobi or other criminal here to try and steal village secrets. Unsure as to what exactly he was witnessing, Nobu would sit and wait to see exactly what was happening. Were they attempting? Nobu would ready himself to spring into action if necessary.
But then they started to approach Nobu….
Upon closer inspection, they didn’t seem to be threatening and they looked to be more native to Suna than Nobu had been. Casually approaching, the person that looked to be a youth from a distance had actually been slightly bigger than Nobu himself, likely a tad older. This wasn’t too much of a surprise to the Genin. Both Sunaga 7 members besides himself were a few years older than Nobu. Looking up, Nobu would lower his hood and meet his gaze as he spoke.
“No, I don’t mind if you join me. Here sit down and enjoy some water. You look a tad parched.” Nobu had realized that Suna in general was just full of people that weren’t hydrated enough. That is why he tends to bring a full pack of water everywhere he goes. He motions for the boy to sit down nearby as he offers a bottle of water from his pack. “I was planning on helping train the students a bit, mostly in physical conditioning. The kids’ bodies just aren’t ready for much Taijutsu training beyond it. What brings you here today?” Nobu would take another large gulp of water from his own bottle before returning it to his pack.
Realizing his rudeness, he apologizes “Sorry, for my rudeness. I’m Nobu, and it is a pleasure to meet you. Might I ask your name?”
OoC Fun Fact of the Day: Nobu is only 12 :p making Yassin slightly older than him. Also, I made the thread open so anybody can join in if they wanted.

Ryou was walking around town, seeing sights that he has seen is whole life. Suna was a beautiful place and he loved the place and people. His aunt was the only person he really knew and the kid Eisaku from the academy. "Hey I havn't seen him in awhile, I think i'll go see him." He told himself now walking to the academy.
Ryou enters the building and looks for the class room he was at last time and where he meet Eisaku. He looked but to no eval, no one was there. "Strange." Ryou walks out and leave the classroom and building. He was a little disapponited that he was not there, he was the one strange friend. Ryou sighs and sees two boys his age talking one had a headband and the other didn't,meaning he was of the academy. Talk to them He tells himself, But that's weird. Finally the "Talk to them" side made him go over.

Yassin accepted the water greatfully and was shocked to find that robed figure was a boy only alittle younger than himself. He returned the water as the boy gave his name and Yassin responded with. "Well it is very nice to meet you Nobu my name is Yassin" Then he was asked what he was doing outside and to that he responded with. " Well to be honest since i was entered into the academy at a later age than the other students I am older than everyone else and have been able to pick up the lessons faster and class just is boring me to death." He said this with a laugh.
"If you dont mind me asking what bring you here to day Nobu? I only ask because it isnt often that students that graduate come back here." He said with a smile. Was the smile to much? Was it needed? He sucked at the whole conversation thing, but he couldn't give up. He needed to make himself more involved and less invisible or he would never become as powerful as he wants to.

Nobu would listen as Yassin spoke of his boredom in the class. Being a fast learner has its perks, but it seems to have a downside as well. Nobu hadn’t experienced much of this boredom during his training, mostly because it had almost entirely been hands on. “I was going to wait for…” Nobu stops in the middle of his sentence as another person approaches, remaining surprisingly silent as they do. Were they also sneaking out?
“Are you a student as well? I haven’t seen you around Suna before.” Then as they get closer, he noticed the headband under their hair. “Ah, no you seem to have gotten a rank up. Ah, now where was I?” Pondering for a moment, Nobu remembers what he had been saying and continues. “I was going to wait for a class to be let out so that I could ask the instructor if I could help with some training. But, if you are as bored as you claim, I could train you a bit. It will hopefully prove to be far from boring.” Shifting his gaze over to the quiet newcomer, Nobu also adds, “You can feel free to train with us as well. As a shinobi beyond the Academy I am not sure where your level of ability falls, but I have no issues if you wanted to join. So, may I ask your name? As this guy here just learned, I am Nobu, Genin of Sunagakure.”
Standing up and taking a quick stretch, Nobu makes sure to loosen all of his muscle groups. It had been a while since he had trained and he would hate to have to be forced to stop because of something a little stretching can help prevent. “I specialize in Taijutsu, and so I had figured I would aid the students during physical conditioning and education. Did you want to practice some Taijutsu, or maybe the Basic Jutsu I hear you need to know before graduating? Or, if you are as advanced as you say I have no issue with you practicing other techniques or skills. I am an able bodied opponent, and practicing on another person that moves and reacts is much more effective than a training dummy.”
Downing another gulp of water, he sets the bottle next to his bag. “If at any point during our training you need to stop and get something to drink feel free to take some water from my bag. I brought plenty for all the kids.”
Finishing his stretches, Nobu waits for their response.

Yassin noticed as Nobu stopped mid sentence and looked behind Yassin so he looked back as well to see someone else walking up, but they were not a student they had a headband. Yassin turned his attention to Nobu as he continued to talk. Yassin listened as he spoke and tried to figure Nobu out. So he is a Genin and seemed to have some superior air to him, was he part of a great family or something? Then when Nobu had finished Yassin responded.
"Well the basic jutsu I have down with no problems its just merely waiting for graduation so I can finally get out of here and become a Genin. So taijutsu would probably be more favorable to me, I mean as long as you dont mind that is."

Ryou makes it to them and says his greetings, "Hi I'm Ryou and no I graduated a few months ago." Then he gets to his point after they got done talking. "Excuse me, Do you guys know Eisaku? He goes to this academy." Then thinks about they obviously academy student. "And aren't you supposed to be in class?" He says putting his hand on his hip.

Yassin then looks to the one names Ryou and listens as he talks and responds with. "I dont think I know Eisaku but the name does a sound familiar and my name is Yassin." Then Ryou asked if he wasn't he supposed to be in class and Yassin realized his disappearance must have been noticed by his instructor which was rare anyway and with a scratch of his head he said. "Uhhh yea haha but to be honest they are not teaching me anything I dont already know therefore it is pointless for me to even be in there."

Hmm. Eisaku. It doesn’t ring a bell, though Nobu had not been overly familiar with all of the students at the academy. “I afraid I don’t know this Eisaku that you speak of. He is welcome to join us as well if he’d like, though. I’m more than willing to practice Taijutsu if that is what you’d like. I’ve finished stretching, but I suggest that you do the same before practicing any Taijutsu techniques. A limber body is an effective body in regards to the martial arts. Plus, you wouldn’t want to end up with any injuries. Torn or pulled muscles can be quite painful.” Nobu addresses this before stepping back to roughly five meters away from the other two.
“Did you want to learn any techniques, or did you have mock combat in mind? I suggest you learn a couple of techniques first, that way you can practice them during the spar. Ultimately, I will leave it up to you though.” Nobu would say, leaving the decision on how they should train in their hands. It made no difference to him, and he didn’t like the idea of telling them how to train. Would he correct any mistakes in form or technique while they practice the moves? Yes, of course. But each student learned better in different ways, and Nobu only sought to teach them as best as he could.
“Ryou, if you are a Genin I am sure that you have an area of expertise. If you don’t mind me asking, what is it? It will help me think about how I can best aid in your training exercises. Plus, if you are adept enough at Taijutsu I can show you some of the more advanced techniques. I’m afraid I don’t know much in the way of other specialties like Ninjutsu or Medical Ninjutsu as far as jutsu, but I’d be more than happy to aid by allowing you to practice moves against me.”
So Ryou had just graduated a month ago, and this Yassin guy was still in the academy. It would likely be best to let them practice Taijutsu sparring against one another. It would be a more fairly matched practice, and the two of them could end up pushing one another to new heights. Of course, Nobu could watch over the event and make sure that nothing gets out of hand. Watching other folks practice wasn’t the first thing he had in mind when he brought up training, but it would probably be best this way. Plus, you really learn something about the other person when engaged in a battle. You learn who they really are, what they are made of. They will also likely learn how the other fights, and that information will be useful for the second phase of the training – both of them engaging Nobu in a spar.
What? He couldn’t let them have all the fun.
OoC (Hints/tips): If you detail your stretching out it can add in some words to your post that are related to training, therefore helping you net stats/justu. Obviously, you don't have to do this but I figured that I would inform you folks.
