Crazy Cat Mission

Sakana had never realized this before today. He was broke. He spent all the money he had earned over his life on his weapon package when he first became a gennin. Everything he had bought after that had been from Kaigo's money that he was technically allowed to spend since it was technically his money too. He didn't feel right with that though. Sakana realized he needed a job. He couldn't have a full time job as he still at to work at the restaurant. And Sakana definitely was not becoming a chef. He hated that job with a passion. So he needed a quick way to earn money. Sakana had gotten out of bed, threw on some clones he did not care about in case his job had him getting dirty. He then ate an apple and was ready to leave. He was kind of excited and scared at the same time for his first real job. He left his house after getting ready and set out in search for a job. 

Sakana walked around for a while and he couldn't find any work. Pretty much the whole village was employed so he did not know where to go to make some money. He finally saw this board in the middle of the town square. He walked up to it seeing what was there. This board was covered in everything imaginable. There was bunch of different listing, mostly for services like mowing the lawn or "girls for hire" Sakana even saw a business card for Kaigo's shop. After a minute of looking through the business cards Sakana finally found what he was looking for. A ninja job listing board. Sakana grabbed the first card he saw and went off.

This job was going to pay him one thousand ryo and all he had to do was rescued some lady's cats. He figured this would be easy money. I mean Sakana figured that he knew B rank jutsu how could this be any harder than that? It really couldn't because cats are small animals that he should not have a problem capturing. The card said he had to register that he was taking this job with the ninja in charge missions. So he made his way over to the desk and talked to the bored looking chuunin who obviously didn't want to sit there. He would hate to have that Job, sitting there all day. That chuunin was basically the customer service person for the kumo ninja. But anyway Sakana needed to talk to the man so he opened his mouth and He told the man his name and rank and he was approved for the job. 

Sakana's next step was meeting the woman who's cats needed rescuing. Her house was kinda secluded in the corner of the village. As Sakana was walking he noticed the ground change on his path. Instead of the dirt roads he was used to, this path was cobblestone and felt hard under his feet. He did not really like it but he sucked it up and walked across the corse path on his way to this woman's house. Once he arrived he made some observations about her house, he noticed that Her house was kinda small but Sakana figured that was ok because she was just one old lady with some animals. So Sakana walked up to the house that had its pink paint peeling off from how bad it's been taken care of. Sakana knocks on the door. Sakana wasn't expecting what happened next, a fat old lady that looked like she weighted more than the house opened the door in nothing but a bathrobe. Sakana was super weirded out by this but he knew he needed the money.

"Exc... excuse me Miss are you the woman who's cats ran away." Sakana said trying to keep eye content and not the robe that started to open and show her bulging stomach.

"Yes I am. My five cats ran away from me yesterday. Are you going to bring them home? I don't know why the ran away they all loved me so much." Said the old woman.

Sakana thought to himself that the reason they probably ran away was because she ate all their food but he would never say that. Instead he said "Yes miss I will bring your cats home. Do you have any idea where they could be?" 

"Well I remember a long time ago I found find them around the village ponds because they liked to hunt fish. You have to be careful though they will are fast kitty's and are kinda mean to" she said kinda laughing at the situation. 

"Well miss I promise I will bring them home." Sakana said this and started out the door. He got out fast because the fat old woman's robe opened enough that Sakana could tell she wasn't wearing anything under it and he almost threw up.

Sakana grabbed the five cat cages beside the woman's house and headed to the village ponds. Sakana knew of four ponds in the village so he wondered if two of them would be together or if he would have to search hard for the last cat. When Sakana arrived at the first pond, he walked around the area for a second. He saw the orange cat sleeping in a tree. Sakana walked up the tree, and grabbed the cat. Sakana then placed the cat in the cage. He thought this job was going to be super easy and quickly headed off to the next pond.

 When he got to the next pond he saw a black cat dipping its head into the pond trying to catch a fish. So Sakana walked up behind the cat and went to grab it. Then the cat did something Sakana did not expect. It turned around and bit Sakana's arm causing his arm to bleed. After the first cat was so easy to catch he thought this one would be the same but now he realized that each cat would react differently to a stranger trying to pick it up. His cut was startling to bleed.This really hurt so Sakana decided he needed to do something about it. He did not have an bandaids but he remembered hearing from one of his fellow ninja that basic medical ninjutsu could heal small wounds. All Sakana remembered was that the chakra could close the wound. He didn't remember any specifics so he figured he might have a hard time with this jutsu. As his arm was bleeding he did the hand signs Boar -> Rat -> Snake. Sakana was hoping this would have closed the wound but he must of did it wrong because blood shot out of his arm at a faster rate. He was panicking now because he was losing a lot of blood from just a small scratch. So Sakana tried the hand signs again: Boar -> Rat -> Snake this time he saw the chakra glow from his arm. The first thing this jutsu did was stop the blood from shooting out of his arm. The next thing that it did was it slowly started to close the  a wound. Sakana had learned basic medical ninjutsu in just a few minutes. Now this was a helpful skill he would have forever.

Now Sakana was mad. This stupid cat ripped up his arm. He thought about trapping the cat in a water prison but he figured that would be over kill. So instead he used his wit to catch the cat. He caught a fish from the pond and threw it in the cage. The cat started to look for the fish and made its way to the cage. Once it steeped foot in the cage Sakana quickly shut the door and locked it. Now there was only three cats left to catch.

Now Sakana had two cats with him and he needed to find three more. Sakana went to the next pond in the village. He did not see any Cats around so he walked for a while and looked. He tired the same thing he did with the other cat with trying to lure it out with a fish but it did not work. This disappointed Sakana because now he would have to look really hard for these next few cats. The cats he did Gaga with him meowed the whole time and it annoyed Sakana to no end. This was not a huge deal though because Sakana was used to having pets around his house. He always liked animals and wanted to get one soon. He figured it would be a great companion for him. He actually wanted to buy Julie one for her birthday because he knew she liked animals too, and this would give him an excuse to come to her house more often. Anyway he was getting of track. He had a job to do and he still needed to complete it.

So Sakana headed to the final lake in the village. With the other two cats with him he arrived at the pond. He was amazed at what he saw. Not one but two cats sitting there. The were sitting beside each other eating some fish. One of these cats was while ghostly looking color while the other one was brown and lovable looking. Sakana carefully approached the cats. He went to pick one of them up but even as he approached them they started to hiss at him. He did not know how to go about this mission. The cats were already eating fish so he figured that tactic would not work again. He started thinking of alternatives. Chasing the cats would most likely be ineffective. Waiting for them could take forever. He did not want this mission to take any longer than it had to. He thought this was going to be easy money but he had his work cut out for him. Sakana started brainstorming ideas. Non of his current jutsu would aid him in catching these animals. But what about a new jutsu? Yes he thought he read about a jutsu in his book. It was a simple jutsu called haze clone. This was superior to normal clone because he could make like ten clones. That is also the reason he did not use water clone. Because with water clone he can only have two clones and with haze clone he could have more. He decided that he would surround the cats in a circle to make it seem like there were a bunch of him. This would scare the cats and the real Sakana would be able to grab the two cats and place them in their cages. 

Now for the hard part. Sakana had never done this jutsu before and he needed to learn it quick. He looked it up and his book and he figured out the hand signs. The hand signs were the dog sign and the tiger sign. This technique was described as a exactly copy of the user up to ten times. The clones are made of nothing so attacks go right through the clones. Sakana was relying on the cats not realizing that though. This was a D rank technique which means it should be easy enough to learn. Well Sakana figured he only had a few shots at this. Sakana started by doing the normal clone technique just to make sure he remembered how. Sakana had two identical clones beside him. Now Sakana had to do the clone technique but he has to use the water to make the clones. Sakana got into his ready stance and tried not to scare the cats. He did the dog then tiger hand sign and tried to complete the jutsu. It kinda worked but not really. There was a resemblance of a clone made out of water. So he needed to try it again. He figured he can not rush it so he tried again. This time he tried to make one haze clone. So Sakana did the dog and tiger sign and made one identical clone made out of water. This was great because he was making lots of progress. Sakana was then ready to make the then clones he needed for this jutsu. So Sakana got into his ready position and started to make the hand signs again. He formed the dog and tiger hand signs and pictured the scene in his mind. He visualized ten haze clone that were identical to himself in a circle. These clones would be surrounding the cat. So Sakana finished the hand signs and the jutsu worked. The cats tried to run away but were scared and fooled by the clones so they thought it was a trap. Sakana quickly summoned two water clones to grab the two kittens from behind. Once they grabbed them they placed them safely in their cages. 

Now Sakana was only missing one cat. He had checked all the ponds in the village and now was lost. Sakana and his water clones brainstormed ideas on where the final cat could be. They thought of the lake but they figured it was way too far for the cat to go. One of the clones remembered something Sakana had seen on his way to the fat old woman's house. There was a fountain statue that was filled with water. They figured that was the most logical place where the cat would be so they decided to go there. The two clones carried the cat cages to the fountain. 

As they were walking to the fountain they were all on lookout for the last cat. And sure enough once they got there they saw the red cat sitting on top of the fountain. Sakana knew he had to be careful to get this cat. Because if it jumped off the top of the fountain it would get seriously hurt. So the water clones stayed with the other four cats and Sakana climbed up the fountain. One he got there he kinda just stayed at the top for a minute. Staring down the cat as the cat did the same to him. Sakana then tried something bold. He put his hand out and started to pet the cat. This actually worked and the cat started licking his hand. Once the cat was comfortable Sakana gently grabbed the cat and placed him Inside the cage. 

Now Sakana had all five cats with him. He took a few minutes to reflect on his day and the events that happened. He thought of a short summery of his day. First he woke up and everything was normal this was no surprise because nothing interesting ever happens at Sakana's house ever. He lived in the most boring part of the village. Then he wondered around for a while looking for a place to make some money. After a long long long time of searching for a place he finally found a shinobi mission board that had all sorts of missions for kumo ninja. Looking back on it picking the cat mission was a bad decision and some of the other missions probably would have been way easier but that's not something to worry about at this point. He accepted the mission and then had to make his way to that desk with the boring chuunin who looked like he hated his job and everything about it. Sakana then had to get his mission approved so once it was approved he had to make his way to the cat woman's house. Once he got there he was rudely greeted by an overweight woman who was wearing an almost open robe which disgusted Sakana. Then he headed to the various lakes to catch the cats. The first cat was easy to catch as it just sat there and did nothing so Sakana was easily able to grab it and put it in the cage. The next cat was the troublesome cat. This is the cat he approached and it cut his arm open. This was when Sakana had to learn basic ninjutsu while his arm was bleeding really bad. He learned it, closed his wound and grabbed the cat and threw it in the cage because he was really mad. The next pond had two cats which was also an issue. He chased these cats around for a while and he could not catch them. This is when Sakana realized he needed to learn another jutsu on the spot that would aid him on this mission. He needed to learn the haze clone jutsu. After Sakana had learned the haze clone jutsu he used it to surround the cats and the real Sakana and his water clones grabbed the cats and headed on their way. Sakana then headed to the next lake which was empty so he then scrambled to find where the last cat would be. Eventually he thought of the fountain and headed there. He found the cat on top of the fountain and decided to take a civil approach to getting this cat safely. He went up to the top of the fountain and sat there with the cat for a while, while the cat started to trust him. Once he had earned the Cats trust he grabbed him and brought him down the fountain and safely got the last cat into its cage. That is pretty much the whole summary of what had happened so far.

He headed to the old woman's house. Once he got there he dispersed his water clones because he did not want to talk to this woman any more than he had to. Sakana knocked on the door and the woman opened it. She was still in the same bathrobe she was in earlier but it was still as open as it was earlier. Sakana told the woman about where the cats were and what he did to catch them. The woman did not even thank Sakana and said she guess she had to pay him. She was unhappy it took so long though. Sakana wanted to argue with the woman but he really just wanted to get his money and get out so he stayed silent. Sakana will never forget what happened next. The woman reached into her bathrobe and pulled out the one thousand ryo. This grossed Sakana out because where was she keeping the money inside her robe? He didn't want to think about it so he just thanked the woman for the money and headed out the door and wanted to go home. 

Sakana realized as he left that he needed to write his mission report and tell the ninja in charge of mission about the mission. So Sakana wrote a detailed mission report of the events that happened but he excluded the part of his arm getting ripped up and all the other parts that made him look bad. Once he was finished he headed back to the ninja desk. The same bored chuunin was sitting there again. Sakana walked over and said he had completed his mission. The chuunin congratulated him and asked for the mission report and once Sakana handed it to him he glanced over it and saw that Sakana did not have an easy time with this mission. The chuunin said the mission report was detailed in the events that Happened but vague in the nitty gritty stuff, this was fine but since he was bored he made Sakana tell him the whole story. 

After Sakana went through everything that happened that day, even his arm getting cut up the chuunin told him how he thought learning the med jutsu on the spot was really smart and probably saved him a trip to the hospital. He also admired Sakana clever tactics when cornering the cats with the haze clone jutsu. The chuunin said Sakana has an eye for strategy and should look into getting and actual team to go on real missions instead of just doing stuff around the village. Sakana said he would look into it but expect him back here to do more small missions in the mean time. 

Sakana dragged himself home after he handed in his mission report and the mission was cleared as successful mission. Now he had one D rank mission under his belt and he had one thousand ryo to spend on whatever he wanted. Sakana got into his house. There was fish on the grill and they made Sakana sick to even look at because of the cats. All Sakana wanted to do was sleep to get the image of the nasty old woman out of his head. So he headed upstairs and threw himself on his bed.

Sakana realized that this a  was pretty good day. Not only did he complete his first ninja mission. And not only does he now have one thousand ryo. Sakana had also learned two jutsu in the process of this day. Sakana was happy that he had accomplished so much on this day.
