The ebony haired student took her time on the obstacle course, analyzing how to tackle the course as she watched the red haired boy go first through it. It was a pretty smart tactic, allowing one to observe where there was difficulty and how to overcome the challenges with relative ease after watching others overcome them. Once the dreadlock clad student finished the course, she took her chance. Instead of dashing straight across each obstacle, she took her time to maneuvered swiftly and stealthily across the platforms. She might not have moved as quickly as the other student, but her method was calculated and just as precise.

She followed the students with her gaze as they went through the many demonstration areas, the boy attempting everything they had to offer and completing them with apparent ease, showcasing his fine chakra control and ability to learn lower ranked jutsu immediately due to such control. The dark haired student, having arrived late to the first demonstration, was unable to properly learn the first technique and failed at her attempt. Hikari was about to go over to ehr and help her practice it, when the two moved on to the next area to practice. Eventually they came across the taijutsu specialization area, which the boy immediately hightailed it out of there, while the girl remained, her eyes intently focused on what the instructors were performing. It made her smile softly to see a student take interest in taijutsu, a specialty close to her heart due to her clans doujutsu and Gentle Fist style of fighting. Not long into the demonstration, the student who had been currently fighting was switched out for the young girl, a look of surprise crossed her visage as if she had not been expecting to fight. Hikari watched her intently to see how she would react, and was pleased when she dodged the kid’s sidekick with ease. The girl had it in her to be a specialist in taijutsu, it was becoming more evident as the demonstration continued, the black haired kunoichi circled her opponent and chopped at his wrist when he attempted to grab her. She was able to break free from his grasp and distracted him with an uppercut while she went in for a gut punch, landing it and causing him to be knocked back slightly. This gave her an opening and she took it, grabbing his ankles during his jump. Her move caused him to fall, hitting his head on the ground, and once he regained his senses, he admitted defeat.

Next on her list of places to go was the Genjutsu section, where the young man from before was currently watching. She found where he was and stood beside him to watch what took place. Soon the young boy was selected to participate, and she stayed to see how he did, although it didn’t take long for him to break free from the clutches of the genjutsu. Once they finished there they moved on to the Fuinjutsu area, each of them listening and practicing what the instructor taught. The redhead picked it up right along, seeming to have a knack for seals, and the girl was aided by the instructor to try and learn how to do the technique. It was then that the boy introduced himself to her and placed the mark seal on her hand, earning him a lesson of etiquette from the older shinobi. He showed her his gratitude by bowing, and then began to form the half tiger hand sign, concentrating chakra somewhere, she presumed it was his fingers but for what reason, she wasn’t entirely sure. Seconds later Allegro broke the seal and took a seat on the ground, exhaustion evident across his features with his shallow breaths and slightly flushed face.

She mentioned not minding the mark seal being placed on her, which seemed to be a relief to the student, although she couldn’t tell for sure from his expressions. While she spoke he ran his fingers through Kuro’s fur, the mighty beast allowing the child to do so as he didn’t mind them attention. Allegro laughed lightly as he pet Kuro, perhaps surprised that the wolf didn’t growl or try to harm him. Her canine companion knew the right situation’s for such kind of behavior, and in the presence of children was not an accepted time to act like the predator he is.

After her discussion with Allegro and the moment he plopped on the ground, the raven haired student greeted them, introducing herself as Suzume. “It is nice to meet you as well, Suzume.” Her gentle reply came, a soft smile gracing her lips in hopes of creating a warm and kind atmosphere.

It was shortly after when Allegro looked up at the snowy haired kunoichi , a joyful tone lacing each word as he stated the two of them had been working really hard and that he wanted to become a strong, dependable shinobi. Hikari’s gaze softened at his innocent ambitions, and she smiled at how pure his intentions were, “You’re very welcome, Allegro. I know both of you will be excellent shinobi, the kind our village will be proud of.”

In the potentially silence that ensued, Allegro glanced around the area, lost deep in thought, until he caught the eye of the surrounding instructors. Their eye contact didn’t last too long as he broke free and met her gaze again, removing his headphones with a serious glint in his eyes and a stern expression across his visage. He inquired if they had enough potential to take her on, in a two versus one spar. Hikari’s eyes widened slightly at the suggestion, unprepared for him to request a spar of all things.

“I think the two of you might be able to take me down together.” She mimicked his sign of confrontation, awaiting his first move while she thought of a strategy. It was her first time sparring anyone in months, and even longer sparring against people with less experienced than herself. It reminded her of the times Salzem used to spar with her, how he would show tough love to improve her skills. She was becoming the Salzem to the students in front of her, the thought of her taking her brother’s place made her heart swell with mixed emotions; sorrow, grief, joy, love.

Kuro moved off to the sidelines, allowing Hikari to face them alone for he had no jutsu nor any special abilities, he was just a regular wolf that could only harm others with his fangs and claws. While she waited for Suzume and Allegro to come up with a strategy or decide if Suzume even wanted to do, she activated her Byakugan, the veins around her eyes bulging as chakra flooded them. She doubted she would need her doujutsu, but it was a precaution and if nothing else, the students would be able to see her eyes in action. Not many actually got to see kekkei genkai up close, to learn how they work just by watching them, so it would be a real treat for the two students to witness. After the two shinobi discussed, the red head focused chakra into his palms until they were enveloped in an all too familiar blue hue. Sadly for the child, she knew exactly what technique he was performing and knew with his low chakra, which she could see with her Byakugan and feel with her Chakra Sensory, that he didn’t have enough chakra to harm her with that particular jutsu, and perhaps he knew that, planning to use it as a distraction for his real move.

Allegro began dashing around her, trying to pinpoint a moment when she let her guard down in order to try and absorb her chakra reserves for himself. He managed to create four loops around her before suddenly dropping low to aim at her feet. It was a relatively smart move for him to go lower, as she would either need to jump out of the way or take the hit, with neither option being smart for her to take if he had been an enemy shinobi, but then again she wouldn’t have let him get so close if he were. Allegro would find his hand to make contact with her leg and the moment his chakra enveloped appendage landed on her, she activated her clan’s famous Eight Trigrams Divination circle and due to his close proximity, Allegro was in perfect striking range for her Gentle Fist: Tenketsu Needle technique; however, she would refrain from actually using her clan’s taijitsu on the young shinobi, it would hardly be fair to the young boy. Thus instead, as he dropped a low swipe at her, her own hands glowed as her chakra became dense in that area, and no matter if he rose again after trying to absorb her chakra, but failing to do so for the power of his technique was not strong enough to overcome her health, or if he remained low to try and continue zapping her chakra without noticing he had not succeeded, she would try to land her right hand on his shoulder or other limb that was safe to touch. Should she succeed, he would feel a slight twinge of lethargy as his energy/chakra left his body, not enough to harm him but enough for him to feel the slight pull of his chakra “vanishing”.

Due to the expended amount of chakra the boy had used and potentially lost, and the fact her eyes and ability could give her a rough estimate as to the remaining reserves he had, she would deactivate the Chakra Absorption technique and begin to speak, “I do not want to push you too far, you’ve both used up quite a large amount of energy and chakra today. I will, however, give you some pointers if you’d like?” She paused for a few seconds, giving them enough time to respond. If they said yes, she would continue, “Allegro, it was an excellent idea to aim low with the Chakra Absorption technique, it put me in a predicament and left me vulnerable. Regarding the technique itself, you were very close to getting it right. If you had had just a little bit more chakra focused to your hands you would have been able to siphon my chakra. You have amazing chakra control so I know with a little of practice you’ll be able to gauge how much chakra is necessary in order to execute this technique perfectly. There isn’t much more I can teach you regarding this jutsu, you’ll have to spend time practicing with others or just yourself. When you successfully perform this, you will feel rejuvenated and full of energy instantly the moment you absorb someone else’s chakra, and they will feel a draining effect and become tired depending on how much chakra was stolen from them and how much they had to begin with.” If they had said no, however, she would nod her head and accept that they did not want her assistance on matter.

It was then that a messenger hawk cawed from above, flapping its magnificent wings and gliding through the air to land on the Hyuuga’s shoulder. She unraveled the note, her pupilless eyes scanning the contents quickly while the bird flew off, its mission accomplished. “I’m so sorry, Koaru and Suzume, it seems the Konoha Hospital urgently needs me. I’ll have to cut this lesson short, but maybe we can make it up later!” She smiled softly at the two students and waved before turning on her heels with Kuro, sprinting off to the hospital to aid their teacher in healing the large amounts of patients they had just received. It was never a dull moment as a medic, thee were always people in need of healing, and Hikari wouldn’t change her dedication for the world. She loved being able to save lives, and devoted her life to becoming to stronger in order to accomplish just that. She had not been strong enough to save Salzem during the war and vowed, along with seeking to avenge him, that as long as air filled her lungs she would never allow another comrade to cruelly perish like her little brother.

While she dashed off, an instructor from the academy brought over juice and snacks for Koaru and Suzume to help replenish their energy as most of the instructors had been watching the two spar with Hikari, and were quite pleased with how they had both performed throughout both the day and during the short spar.

The young academy student put on a flashy display of speed before Hikari once her wolf companion moved to the side. It would appear like a whirlind, and the shape of the student who was the cause of the whirlwind was slowly bending with speed. To the academy students, the speed would be blinding, however to the Hyuuga who had just activated her kekkei genkai, Byakugan, this would be nothing more than a cheap trick. She had not even flinched at the sudden movements of the young Uzumaki. He watched the thick veins forming on each side of the kunoichi’s face, localizing around her white pupil less eyes. He had finally been able to see it. The kekkei genkai of the clan that claimed to be the strongest in the Leaf village. Before charging in from Hikari’s blind side, Allegro looked back to catch the glance of Suzume-chan. It seemed she would sit this one out. Allegro smiled, hoping that she would still root for him. The other students would and even some instructors would gather around. It was a spectacle seeing an academy student with enough balls to challenge a chuunin rank ninja.
 
The all seeing white eyes of the Hyuuga clan gives the user a near three hundred and sixty degree field of vision. There was also the range of vision that spanned for kilometers. Rarely anyone knew about the rare blindspot directly behind the user. It also allowed the user to literally see chakra and the network by which chakra flows throughout the body, the Chakra network. What a ridiculously useful special skill to have. The user would be able to see all jutsu used on him or her without surprise. Allegro had only learned of it in class, so this was his first experience with it in combat. He dropped low for a fierce sweep to her legs. It connects, and yet the ninja did not even budge. Allegro would attempt to follow up with an uppercut cloaked in chakra. However, it was futile, Allegro had been handled in a way that he landed square on his back. Hikari’s palm thrusted firmly on Allegro’s shoulder. Allegro could only watch as he went down against his will. He was not strong enough to counter the move, and his speed was no match from the chuunin. In terms of skills and abilities, Hikari was Allegro’s worst nightmare.
 
Allegro hit the ground hard under the kunoichi’s might. As his body recoiled against ground, saliva left his mouth, leaving him to gasp desperately for air. His chakra cloaked hands met with Hikari’s, struggling to free himself. He would soon give up his struggle, though, because his strength was swiftly leaving his body, down to the tips of his fingers. Damn. The jutsu he was planning to execute had been executed on him in return. And he had not even noticed until it was too late. But how? First Allegro approached from Hikari’s blind spot and she hand blocked the attack as if she had seen it coming the whole time. Then she used the exact same technique as him though Allegro had not visibly cast the technique. Allegro had come to realize just how thorough the Byakugan’s ability was. Hikari was one ruthless chuunin. That rank was definitely not given out for no reason. 
 
The dust that rose after Allegro’s body hit the floor had finally settled. The students crowding around the scene had all gasped, having finally grasped what had happened in the flurry of speed. To no one’s surprise, the chuunin kunoichi had won the bought and the dreadlock clad student had barely put up a fight. The boy looked up into Hikari’s white veiny eyes as she spoke. She let him know that she had taken it easy on him, and even offered to offer some pointers for the future. Allegro listened carefully. It was just as she said, Allegro’s execution of the technique was lacking. Their difference in strength had allowed Hikari to use the same technique while being unscathed by Allegro’s rendition. The technique could be resisted if the opponent had enough durability. It was then that the student realized that his technique did not have enough chakra to overpower her durability. He had no choice but to admit defeat. When he was finally released from Hikari’s grasps, he stood up to face the kunoichi and said
 
“Thank you, Hikari sensei. That Byakugan of yours is really something. Please continue to look over my training”
 
   
It wasn’t long after that a hawk let out a shriek from the afternoon sky above them. It had circled around in the sky, flapping its majestic brown colored wings before it eventually descended calmly onto Hikari’s shoulder. On the bird’s talon was a secret compartment with a small parchment tucked away in it. HIkari sensei was being called to the Konoha Hospital to tend to some of the patients. It was apparent to Allegro that Hikari was also skilled as a medical ninjutsu. He would have never guessed from the way the Hyuuga had pawned him in the small taijutsu match. But, it did explain how Hikari had become to be such a master of the Chakra Absorption technique. Its ability to let the user drain the targets chakra could classify it as a medical technique. Allegro would be sure to keep that in mind, just in case he was ever in a medical emergency. He wondered if he himself had any medical ability. Nah probably not. However, he knew that there was a lot of money in the medical field. And where there was money, there was opportunity for business. There was a shortage of good medical shinobi in Konoha, which would allow Allegro to make decent profit if he had a good enough business idea.  That was a matter for a different day. Allegro gave a slight bow as the Hyuuga took off, just before joining the other students for snacks and refreshments. He just smiled awkwardly as the other students bombarded him with questions and comments.

Suzume did choose to take up the challenge to spar along the side of Allegro against a higher up, even finding it to be an honor to do so. She wanted to experience what fighting a much more powerful shinobi would be like anyhow. And, what an experience it was! Once it ended, Suzume was huffing for breath and was sweating so much she decided to call it a day. "Mine too! Nice to meet you, goodbye!" she would say after Allegro, bowing as well. She tagged along with him to the refreshment stands, getting lost in the crowd while she attempted to get close enough for some water.
