Curiosity Killed the Cat

There wasn't much for Alice to do at this point concerning Hitsuyo Aku. Her orders from Kazuo had been, well, she hadn't actually received any orders from him exactly. She knew he had plans to overthrow the current hierarchy controlling the Black Market, but he hadn't mentioned how or when. Of course, having taken on a promising young protege, she could spend her free time teaching the girl everything she knew, but there would be plenty of time for that later. Now, she had something she wanted to do. It had been a long time since she had visited Fire Country; in fact, she hadn't been back there since finally ridding herself of her parents. Growing up the way she did, Alice never once even came close to thinking about going back. Now, however, it seemed that spending all this time with Kaz and the other members of HA had made a significant dent in her cold, emotionless personality. She couldn't stop the curiosity lately, the feeling of wanting to see where her parents had grown up, of the village that had turned them into monsters. It was like an itch she couldn't quite reach. Luckily for her, Konohagakure was less than a day away from the Land of Iron where she and the rest of Hitsuyo Aku had been hold up. So, of course she decided to make a short visit. Besides, if she was needed Kazuo could always contact her telepathically and she had more than one way of reaching him instantly.
So, the young Nara packed her gear, left a note for Brooke telling the girl to continue her weapons training, and headed out early in the morning when everyone was still asleep. The eye patch she had worn for so long, a useful tool for diminishing her chakra signature to that of a civilian's, was hidden safely inside of a sealing scroll along with four sets of falsified documents, five shuriken, ten kunai, and her only other scroll specifically designed to hold a corpse without decay. She had thought about sealing away Royal's Edge as well, but decided against it in favor of practicality. It was highly unlikely she would be discovered, but just in case she was it was better to have the weapon ready at her side.
By the time anyone realized she was gone, Alice would already be at the gates of the Hidden Leaf village.
