Coming in late from her training Love would wait until the next morning to share the news with her little crew. After they had got washed and dressed, tidied their sleeping areas, and were cleaning up their morning meal Love had the boys line up in front of her. "I have something to tell you." She paused to make sure she had all of their full attention. "Last night I heard word of the battle between Konoha and Kiri ended... Of course, there were casualties on each side but our village still stands." She would hold up her hand to let them know not to interrupt before finishing what she had to say. "I don't have all the details but there are some Kiri ninja that linger. Whether a compromise was made or if we're being assimilated into their nation is unclear. However, the fighting has stopped which means it's safe to go home." The end of her monologue would be telling them that they'll leave promptly. There were no questions that she could answer so she wouldn't accept any. The boys were expected to gather their things, say their goodbyes, and return home.

Atarashi Senju nods and tries to check to see if he has all of his stuff. When you say that there were casualties Atarashi starts to worry and he hopes that his dad isn't one of those who died in the fighting. he goes to ask a question but stops when Love raises her hand. Atarashi also worries about the lingering Kiri ninja. Even if something has been worked out there still exists the possibility that something could go wrong, and either side could be responsible. Either lingering aggression from Konoha could cause a violent uproar or some of the Kiri ninja could start to act violently towards the citizens of Konoha. Atarashi still doesn't know who won so his speculation death spiral is forced to a stop there. Atarashi gathers any stuff that he might have forgotten and heads out with Love. As they go along, Atarashi makes marking in a random direction that is not the path he's travelling along and not the opposite direction and not perpendicular to the direction he's traveling along. and he passes through a particularly dense patch of forest he sees the strange tree that's been plaguing him recently. He wonders what the tree could be and why it seems to be following him around. He can't stop to study the tree as he has to follow Love. However he considers that maybe later he'll try to ask her if she knows anything about the tree. If she doesn't know than maybe he'll have to go looking for it. Maybe his father will know something if he's still alive. That thought causes Atarashi to start thinking about his dad again. His dad wasn't the greatest ninja so he hopes his dad didn't try to fight someone he couldn't win against. After a little bit of travel Atarashi splits from Love for a moment to make another mark in the general direction of where the last mark pointed. When he's done he meets back up with her. After a little bit more he goes to make a mark closer the where they're traveling. The purpose of this is to make it look like someone is moving in a zigzag away from where the path he and Love are traveling on is. He makes disturbances in the area around them to draw eyes away from any accidental disturbances that pop up on the path Atarashi is traveling on. Like a magician making a large motion with one hand to distract the target away from his other hand which is what does the real action.
