The Kage Summit - Page 4 Empty Re: The Kage Summit

Tue Sep 25, 2018 3:09 am
His attack was cut short by him suddenly no longer standing. Followed by immediate pain. He wouldn't cry out, partially due to not quite realising what had happened, and part of not giving Valen the satisfaction. He was not done yet though. "You don't deserve to be Kage..." he said quietly. 'My time may be near...' He thought to himself. 'But I'll be damned if I die here...' He may not have use of his arms, but he didn't need them for what he was about to do. The following actions happened at the same time, which was as Valen raised his sword to try and finish Kotetsu off. A barrier of snow would completely cover Kotetsu at a speed of 190, 2 inches above Kotetsu and starting at the closest point between Valen and Kotetsu. As well, 19 spiked chains would shoot out of the ground in a 5-meter wide circle, centered on Valen, while 19 spears of ice appeared directly underneath the Hogokage. Several of them form to pierce his feet and ankles, immobilizing him, while the rest were angled up and towards his center of mass. While all of this was happening, Kotetsu would teleport to Arctis Tor. Naturally none of his attacks would hit himself in the process.

The Kage Summit - Page 4 Empty Re: The Kage Summit

Tue Sep 25, 2018 9:46 am
“You don’t deserve to be kage.” The teen would say, the finality of the teens voice giving Valen a sudden recollection of what he had tried to do when they last fought. The sudden assault of techniques from all angles that caused him to need to phase. This sudden recollection would occur as Kotetsu himself had his own mental process. As such Valen would decide not to go for the downward slash that he had planned for, but would instead simply launch his arm blade at Kotetsu. His arm having been resting at a point over the teens body to allow the blade to be pointing directly at his heart. As such, Valen wouldn’t need to move the blade at all in order to aim the attack. The blade would fire downward, crossing the foot and half long distance between them at a speed of 197. The sharpness of the downward firing blade being 229.

The Kage Summit - Page 4 Empty Re: The Kage Summit

Wed Sep 26, 2018 2:18 am
Valen had paused at his words, and then tried to shoot him in the chest. 'You don't get to decide how I die, traitor...' the Winter Knight thought to himself as he formed his snow shield immediately over the point of impact, since he could sense the blade being launched. The blade would break through the barrier, but the snow itself would reduce the effectiveness of the blade to the point where it would bounce ineffectively off his armour.

His original Ice attack wouldn't really change. 19 Chains and 19 spears would spring out of the ground in and around Valen. While most of the spears of Ice would be shot upwards from underneath to keep him penned in, some of them would be aimed at his right side, effectively trying to destroy his entire right half: sword, arm, and his right eye. Because the chains had a further distance to travel, the spears would potentially hit well before the chains would. Regardless of whether his attack hits or not. He would look at Valen with nothing but contempt, and say something just loud enough to for everyone in the chamber to hear. "I hope Xyxer kills you, you worthless coward. May your death be more meaningless than mine..." His final words would match the contempt in his eyes. He had done nothing but work hard and protect the village whose leader had just betrayed him in the worst way, and it cost him his life. For what? It was a robbery of the worst order, and as Kotetsu's life left him, he hoped that karma would return to bite Valen Akari where it would hurt him the most. 'Perhaps this means I can see Sanae again...' It was the last thought he would have before passing into the void.

Without Kotetsu alive to continue it on, Arctis Tor would fade to nothingness, forever lost to the world. As would any of his techniques that he had personally discovered, as they had not been written down anywhere for someone else to find.

The Kage Summit - Page 4 Empty Re: The Kage Summit

Thu Sep 27, 2018 12:10 pm
The falling blade, against a barrier of snow. The weapon managed to puncture through, but the barrier managed to absorb the force of the blow and the blade merely fell harmlessly against the chest of the dying teen. Valen’s eyes would narrow as his sensory ability felt the creation of multiple spears and chains of ice. All of them attacking him at once if he didn’t manage to do something quickly. An attempt at the Kage’s own life by the black haired teen this time. Valen was prepared for this to happen however, knowing exactly how the teen would react when he had nothing else to do. So beforehand the kage would activate his armor’s buff, in order to increase the defensive properties of the protective gear. This would cause the spears that would come up below his feet to simply propel him upward at a high speed. The kage would launch into the air, the force of the spear carrying him above the incoming chains that intended to end his life.

Except one.

A single chain, sailing aimed higher than the others, would tag him in the right arm, right at the halfway point. Metal shattered into the shards as his prosthetic arm was destroyed immediately, the force of the blow ripping the upper half of the arm out of the socket. The blow would jar him harshly, sending him flying, but not before he caught his blade by the hilt in his other hand. He’d use his own wings to land safely, luckily not having many issues with control despite his lack of an arm now. He’d hear the teens final words, a cold shrug being the Hogokage’s only response to the teens words as the life finally left the Yuki’s eyes. Valen himself would waste no time, moving toward the sheath of his sword and kicking it into the air and allowing it to fall onto his sword, enclosing it safely within its case as it slid over the blade seamlessly. He couldn’t exactly pick the damn thing up after all. He’d stride back toward the table ten meters or so away. His eyes never leaving the only other male kage standing. “Let’s get back to it then. I assume there shouldn’t be any issues with us taking the body? He was trained as a shinobi in our village after all and as such could possess information I do not want to get out. I’ll gladly send his parents back to Konoha if necessary.” He would say, now gray eyes meeting those of the Mizukage. He wouldn’t really flinch at the loss of his arm, it wasn’t the first time after all and anyone with eyes could’ve seen it wasn’t his real one anyway.

The Kage Summit - Page 4 Empty Re: The Kage Summit

Thu Sep 27, 2018 11:47 pm
What had potential to become interesting quickly devolved into a heavy atmosphere, each kage standing up. Komori remained seated, a silent observer as long as the battle was kept away from him, his hand sliding to the sheath of Nuibari, withdrawing the blade by three inches. The mist that threatened to cloud his view was dispersed as quickly as it appeared, apparently being sucked into the bandaged blade on the Mizukage’s back. Komori arched an eyebrow before his narrowed eye shifted back towards what unfolded before him. Upon Valen’s transformation, Nuibari found itself held lightly in Komori’s right hand.

The battle ended nearly as quickly as it had begun. The child of runaways lived up to his parents and tried to flee at every opportunity he had, but his mentor refused to allow him. A slew of jutsu were used from both parties, allowing everyone else in the room to see their capabilities. It wasn’t enough that the teacher was struggling against his own pupil, he had to go all out in order to do so. A sheath was kicked into the air as it landed on its sword, causing Komori to stifle a chuckle at its absurdity. The child then had the gall to request for the body. It seemed that Valen misunderstood. The entire reasoning behind what had just transpired was due to the boy’s belonging to Konoha first. The notion that he would be able to keep the corpse of his former guard was a foolish notion indeed. A foolish notion for a foolish boy.

“Is this how your village functions?” His voice would project itself, making sure that everyone in the room would be able to hear him clearly. Komori averted eye contact with the target of his speech, instead focused on the three foot long blade Nuibari, slowly twirling between the fingers of his right hand in a diagonal manner as to let the blade spin without anything in its path. “You said that boy was your student yet you cut him down without a second thought.” The blade came to a stop in Komori’s hand, the tip of the needle pointing downwards as the Raikage slammed it into the table. His hand remaining on the handle, Komori now stood with the rest of the kage as his chair scraped the floor behind him. His eye drifted to the mangled corpse of a boy who had gotten in over his head. “And now you just want to move on as if you didn’t murder one of your own?” Komori scoffed. “Weaklings like you always lack honor.”

“It seems that this summit has reached its peak.” Komori pulled Nuibari out of the table, sliding it back into its sheath. After such a disaster, they could not be expected to sit down and hold a civilized discussion. The smell would permeate the room before long. He grabbed his hat from the table, fitting it onto his head as he spoke, “Perhaps we could discuss the details of joint chuunin exams over correspondence.”

Depending on the reactions he received, Komori would begin to take his leave. Looking towards the Hokage, Komori would give a half bow respectfully. “Hokage.” He would then turn towards Xyxer and repeat the bow. “Mizukage Gyojin.” Komori then nodded his head towards Nobu, making eye contact with Komon who had appeared by the door. Komori would pause as he passed a boy standing where a kage should have been, still facing forwards. “King of Cowards.”

Unless he was needed, the Kumogakure envoy would exit the room.

The Kage Summit - Page 4 Empty Re: The Kage Summit

Fri Sep 28, 2018 4:22 pm
Situations such as these were rarer than a day of peace in a ninja's life. What was quite possibly the greatest taboo unfolded before the men of high prestige as a Hogokage viciously dismantled his own student. Xyxer hadn't even drawn his katana. The words of the Mizukage combined with his steps had caused one of the greatest sins in the known world, and for a moment Xyxer pondered if Valen understood the weight of what he was doing or if adrenaline was the drug that caused his inevitable doom. He'd heard Hoshigakure was renowned for its variety of religions, yet he doubted many of them would have a treacherous leader go anywhere but the most dreadful of hells.

It was over almost as quickly as it had begun, the former shinobi of Hoshigakure ushering a few words from his rapidly weakening body, wishing Xyxer fortune in a pursuit of violence against Valen. Perhaps, in the end, the bodyguard had truly defended the life of his kage by being sacrificed by him. The traitor had lost an arm in the conflict against his student, either a sign that he'd taught the boy too much or he himself wasn't much higher in skill than his pupil. Further accentuating his youth, the boy had the audacity to kick the sheath of his weapon onto his sword. Some would see this as a display of finesse, yet to the member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, it was nothing but disrespect to the sword that had claimed a life. Those who don't respect their weaponry deserve to have it used against them.

After Kotetsu had ushered his last sentence for the privilege of the Kage, Xyxer started to focus on the one-armed boy of Hoshigakure.. yet he was almost looking past him. His empty gaze pierced through the fatigued Kage, no words left his lips. The Jinchuriki in the room would be able to hear the faint buzzing of whispers emanating from the 8-tails as the Bijuu conversed with its host. If Valen had not struggled against his student so much and became damaged in the process, perhaps Xyxer would have cut him down.. yet his honour would not allow him to kill a Kage that was already so weakened.. in the end, the bodyguard truly did save Valens life. The sound transitioned to almost be comparable to the buzzing of flies, before fading into silence just as Valen spoke about the corpse of his peer. Redirecting his gaze towards Valen, briefly shaking any influence off from his psyche, he shook his head in response. In truth, he didn't believe he needed to explain the reasoning behind this as it was as clear as the backstabber in the room; wary be those who turn away from him. Yet, given his lack of understanding on the atrocity he just performed, Xyxer spoke out towards him, "The body is going back to Konoha, where it belongs. There'll be no further discussion about that, miscreant." Xyxer almost spat the last word, the untrustworthy Kage remaining the highlight in his vision. The Leviathan hated Missing Shinobi, yet he loathed those that turned on those they were supposed to protect even more. Sins such as those could not be wiped off, nor forgiven.

The Mizukage moved his gaze towards the snow white haired bodyguard of Risako, gesturing towards the corpse of Kotetsu with his hand. "You, carry what remains of Kotetsu back to Konoha and ensure his identity is validated - his body, items, and mind untampered." Xyxer instructed the girl, shooting a glare at Kotsuzui so that he'd know this task was Hikari's and hers alone. Xyxer was a notorious man of honour, and if his words weren't carried out as prescribed, then people often found themselves in unfortunate positions."Leave now, Hogokage, while I still permit you to do so with your life. Send the parents and anyone else with history of our villages back home, or there will be consequences." Xyxer addressed him once more. Regardless of the atrocities the boy had committed, he was still a Kage by the law of his land and he would be called as such. Xyxer's body remained loose and ready to move into action should he not appreciate the rebuttal, yet he didn't hear one before the Raikage announced his own distaste for the actions he'd witnessed. He stepped backwards slightly to keep them both in his vision. He noted the peculiar weapon that now flourished before them, a wire wrapped around the hilt.. it was more like a needle than a sword, truth be told.

His clan member's words carried weight, and it earned him a semblance of Xyxer's respect that he felt so strongly about deception, just as he does. Xyxer returned the slight bow of the Raikage. Once Komori had finished speaking, Xyxer called out towards him regardless of anything else that would unfold during that time, "Raikage Hozuki, that weapon you carry looks awfully familiar. I'd like to inspect it, if you don't mind." He attached the sheath of his katana to his hip, advancing towards his clan member so longer as he didn't object. To Xyxer, his position had been made clear in this summit.. the Hogokage had simply been a tool to further how the villages viewed the power of the Leviathan.

The Kage Summit - Page 4 Empty Re: The Kage Summit

Mon Oct 01, 2018 9:03 pm
Honor? What a foolish notion. They were shinobi first and foremost, people trained from an early age to kill and to use any means to do so. Honor is a merely another tool in the trade, something to be used when convenient and discarded when not. Besides, who was one to say what happened here did not have honor in its own right? What’s better? To be cut down like a dog in front of everyone by a man you don’t even know. Or be killed by someone who will actually remember you? Valen himself would barely repress a scoff at the Raikage’s words ‘Last to arrive, and the first to try to leave. It seems he hasn’t changed much. I pity Kumogakure if that’s the quality of its leader.’ He would think as he allowed his mind to take the matter of Kotetsu’s body in hand. He didn’t like giving it up, the teen had trained in his village, fought for his village, and devoted a life to his village. So his parents took him away from the original one when he was younger. That should have no bearing on the child’s fate. Yet Valen knew, if he hadn’t have taken matters into his hands, then Kotetsu would still be dead. But if killing the children for the sins of one’s parents was the type of honor that Xyxer Gyojin lived by then Valen honestly wanted no part of it. For as he had killed Kotetsu, he would mourn him, and remember him. Valen doubted a soul in this room could say the same thing.

The casual dismissal, combined with a threat to send the boys parents to Konoha angered the teenage kage. But he wouldn’t let it show, and couldn’t truly make a fuss over it. Not without his other arm. Nor would he want to with this blade. The very blade that had emerged with him from his sealing. The very blade that he had found in that dark cavern, and purified with the help of Hikari. The very blade that he cut down his student. He wouldn’t allow it to do so anymore, no, when he returned home he would do something about the sword that he had used. For now though, he had other matters to attend to. The Raikage’s last words would be lost on deaf ears. For why should anyone listen to the words of a hypocrite? Calling him the King of Cowards when he himself keeps running away. Leaving his owns kinsman in the middle of another village just because he ‘wanted to go home’ was such an act of selfishness that it once again prompted Valen to wonder how the Lightning Shadow had even gotten the position in the first place. The ashen haired teen would turn toward the Mizukage and nod his head. The man’s orders to the Hokage’s own bodyguards not truly surprising Valen. It proved the man was the true ruler of Konoha. However the man’s words that the body and mind be untampered with made the kage feel at least a bit better. If the Mizukage kept to his words, then Kotetsu’s body would at least be treated to the respect the dead earned through their lives. “Very well then.” He would say, him not being in any place to debate the issue without an arm. “I’ll send his parents to Konoha upon my return.” He would say simply before inclining his head toward the three kage. “Mizukage-dono. Hokage-dono, Raikage-dono.” He would say, giving the proper respect to all three kage’s as proper decorum required.

At this, Valen would turn toward the door, opening it if required and leaving. Intent upon finding Kenshin so he could teleport them both back home, for Valen had work to do now.

The Kage Summit - Page 4 Empty Re: The Kage Summit

Wed Oct 03, 2018 8:49 am
It wasn't the Hogokage's right to determine if Kotetsu lived or died, but he exercised it nonetheless. The blood stains on the carpet signified the potential loss of knowledge the body guard held, and to Risako any hope of finding his parents was gone. Her eyes left Valen's form for all of a second as Xyxer began to speak.

At least she wasn't alone in wanting to take Kotetsu home. Of course from one perspective, he held knowledge on both villages, and obtaining whatever information possible regarding what was assumed to be a new enemy was an invaluable asset, should they be able to extract the information from the corpse in time.

From her own, to her own, he deserved a direct burial. Any attempts to dismantle the body in an attempt to get an edge would be met with objection from Risako, fruitless as it may be. Desecration of the recently departed wasn't up her alley.

Once Valen was gone, she relaxed her posture to appear much more civil. Finally, she spoke. "We'll be taking our leave then, unless there are any objections?" She questioned, raising her brow at Xyxer. For the first time, she had noticed the man was quite the physical specimen. Fine, as some may put it. If there were none, she motioned for Hikari to follow as she made her way out.

The Kage Summit - Page 4 Empty Re: The Kage Summit

Wed Oct 03, 2018 9:50 pm
The boy formerly known as the Hogokage seemed to try to stop himself from making a noise, but alas, he merely let out a scoff while trying to contain himself, blowing into his hand and releasing a soft noise that resembled that of flatulence. He then proceeded to stare ahead and just take everything that the superior Komori had said to him, merely standing there and accepting the verbal assault with a stoic expression on his face. Luckily for Hoshigakure, their village leader was such a profound thinker and spent most of his waking moments talking to himself via inner monologue, lest he accidentally appear as anything besides an emotionless coward. Komori’s words were heard by everyone besides those without selective hearing that attempted a misguided sense of self justification.

The Raikage was rather disappointed in the lack of reaction from the false ruler. He merely kept up his facade and acted as if he was an innocent man caught up in a series of affairs. At the words of the Mizukage, the bitch tucked its tail between its legs and began to flee. Komori, attempting to restrain himself from outright killing the traitor to his own kind, gave Valen one last expression before he departed, “You’re just a mutt without any bark or bite.” He would then allow for the coward to leave.

---

As the boy departed, the Hokage also took her leave, her lack of a presence nearly catching Komori off guard. Regardless, she gave him no acknowledgement before her own departure, unless Xyxer stopped her for whatever reason. As the Raikage himself prepared to depart, he was called by name, prompting him to turn to the source. He watched as Xyxer equipped his sword to his hip again before inquiring about Komori’s sword. Interesting. As he did not know the legend of his weapon, there was nothing preventing the one eyed kage from allowing this. Wordlessly, Komori withdrew the 3ft needle as Xyxer walked forwards, turning it over in his hand. “I don’t see why not.” He extended the handle outwards towards the Mizukage, standing five feet apart, the length of the blade covering the distance.
