Runner's Hike

"I hope I have high chakra reserves," Zyxis said in response, "I specialize in Ninjutsu, so it would be quite embarrassing if I didn't. I'll try not to disappoint you, Jounin-san." The white-haired boy watched every word that came out of his mouth. He knew that Nobunaga was someone who was higher ranked than him and stronger. In Kumogakure, there was a belief that those who were above you in rank and more powerful should have respect. There was nothing wrong with this law, Zyxis didn't think that one bit, he just tried to be more formal than he was with others like Hoshi and Natsume.

As the Hiyu continued to speak, Zyxis would nod every time he finished his sentence to let him know that he was paying attention. Usually, when he talked to people, he looked them in the eye. He was trying over and over again to do it with Nobunaga, but it was hard for him because he was so big and scary. Although it was respectful to try and look people in the eye when you're talking to them or when they're talking to you, so he continued to meet his gaze. He was somewhat disappointed when he realized that he couldn't teach Zyxis today, but it wasn't surprising. What was more surprising was that Kyson and Royalty had the time to instruct him, he expected it to go like this.

His eyes brightened at the prospect of the Hiyu teaching him skills, though, "Just the offer alone is excellent, Nobunaga. I'll gladly accept that, especially if it will help me in the Chuunin Exams," He listened to him as he explained. As he unhooked his weapon, he slightly stumbled backward but righted himself when he only sat down. Why was he so anxious, he usually wasn't like this.

The boy sat on the cold ground opposite to his superior. Each description he gave he implanted in his mind, running through them multiple times. Zyxis' eyes slowly closed out of their own accord, his experience with chakra manipulation speaking for itself. The ping of chakra went out and connected with his, sending it right back to him. It was like echolocation. All of a sudden he could see everything around him, every leaf, the blade of grass, even the wind carried traces of chakra. Nobunaga wasn't lying at all when he said that everything had chakra.

"I think I got that one," Zyxis said patiently and quietly, waiting for the next lesson.

With the two of them now seated in silence, all that could be heard was the this, cool, gentle breeze of the high mountain winds brushing against them and the surrounding rock. Watching the Uchiha before him close his eyes and focus at the task at hand, Nobunaga would place both his hands on the knees of his crossed legs, each hand on the knee of the same side as he reached out with his chakra. Now sensing everything around him, the Hiyu did so so that he could feel the chakra of the Genin seated before him. He could feel him molding and manipulating his chakra, attempting to reach out with it just as the Hiyu had instructed him to do. He was a good listener and it appeared that he was a fast learner as well for in no time at all Nobunaga felt him successfully reach out with his chakra. The chakra he managed to mold from within was now reaching out and detecting the life essence of everything around him.

Slowly nodding his head in approval as Zyxis readied himself for the next stage of his learning, the perfectly postured Hiyu would start the next lesson. "Next, to suppress your chakra you will have to do the exact opposite of what you just achieved. Where before you reached outwards, now you will need to push inwards. Here, reach out to my chakra and I will show you." Now that the Uchiha was able to detect other people's chakra signatures, he could detect Nobunaga's. Being able to detect the Hiyu's, Nobunaga could actively suppress his chakra and let Zyxis feel the Anbu's chakra vanish from his sense. The Hiyu would do exactly that as he went on explaining what he was doing. Slowly, as his chakra began to fade from the senses of the Uchiha seated before him, he would explain "Now, I am molding my chakra and forcing it to recede. I am burrowing it back to its original source, back to where it came from. By doing so, slowly you will begin to sense less and less of my chakra till there appears to be no more." 

Once he said that last word, Nobunaga's chakra signature would completely vanish from the chakra sensing capabilities of Zyxis. "My chakra still flows through my body, but it is hidden from you. Now young Zyxis, do as I did. Mold your chakra inwards, force it back and hide it from my senses." With back strait, chest up and shoulders back, the Hiyu remained seated. Deactivating his suppressed chakra and refocusing on his chakra sensing, the Hiyu would reach out to Zyxi's chakra, waiting to feel it disappear.

With the explanation of how chakra works and his new skill of Chakra Sensing, he was able to see how Nobunaga's chakra as if it was somewhat constrained. The blue aura seemed to be pulled in and condensed. All of a sudden he wasn't able to see it nor sense it. "That's cool," He muttered to himself. "Thanks for the advice" He brought his chakra back to him and began to do the opposite. Instead of sending it out, it was if he put it in a sphere and began to shrink it. 

It took a bit for him to constrain such a significant amount of chakra on his first try, but little by little he was able to pull it back into such a minuscule sphere it was as if nothing was there at all. The white-haired boy stood up and bowed, "This was a valuable session, Nobunaga sensei. I'd be glad to do some more training when I reach Chuunin if you are free. Do you mind escorting me back to the village now?"

If he could, the two would head back together. If not then he'd travel home safely alone.

With crossed arms and legs, the Hiyu patiently sat with perfect posture awaiting Zyxis to perform the task at hand. Sensing the young Uchiha's chakra to study him while he attempted to suppress his chakra Nobunaga would analyse him do so in silence. Moment by moment, bit by bit Nobunaga could sense Zyxis' chakra slowly diminish in size. Like a mountain of sand slowly being blown away by a gust of wind, Zyxis chakra vanished and was now suppressed from the Hiyu's own chakra sensing. Slowly giving a nod of approval the Hiyu would only say "Good." once the Genin completed his task. Perhaps Nobunaga was a great teacher and gave amazing advice or perhaps Zyxis was just a prodigy student for he had learnt both techniques quite quickly, techniques that were quite advanced in nature. Now with both techniques that the Hiyu said he would teach being taught, it seemed their little unplanned session had come to an end.

Uncrossing his arms and reaching out with his right the ground the handle of the massive great sword that rested beside him, the Anbu Operative would get onto his feet. Raising back to his full height and swinging the sword around his right shoulder to hook it back onto its chain link. "If I am afforded the luxury of time then I will aid you in your training post Chuunin exam." Calmly placing his hands into the clone seal, a cloud of puffy white smoke would erupt to his left soon revealing an identical Shadow Clone. "I cannot escort you for I must get back to my route. My clone will escort you instead." With a grunt and a nod, Nobunaga would proceed down the mountain and make his way to the next outpost outside of the Lightening village while his trusty lone escorted the young Genin back to the village, exploding and dispelling itself once making it back to the village safely.
