The road to genin (NK, training)

The rain was falling heavy and sideways, with high winds whipping across the mountainous training ground Ryuuzaki currently inhabited. The time approached when Ryuuzaki was due to take the genin exam, he was in top physical shape as always, keeping up his daily routines. However now he needed to improve his ninjutsu to become a full-fledged shinobi. First, he was going to work on achieving the clone jutsu. Ryuuzaki had trained to control his chakra and be able to call it forth at will, and through the use of hand seals perform jutsu, but he had yet to actually learn any.

Ryuuzaki started to slow his breathing focusing his hands into the sign of the ram, hands together vertically with the left thumb on top and slightly above the right hand. As his breathing slow and his concentration sharpened, the wind and rain started to fade away, he was focused inwardly, drawing out his chakra. The process he was going through took several seconds, no use in an actual fight, but he knew it would improve as he trained more in the arts. However for the purpose of the genin exam, this would do nicely, he would concentrate on doing it slowly and methodically, but get it right instead of trying to rush things. When he had gathered the small amount of chakra necessary Ryu moved his hands into the next sign, snake. Putting his hands together interlocking his fingers with the left thumb on the outside, the stored chakra started to flow from his core throughout his chakra system. Moving to the next hand sign Ryu extended both of his forefingers, leaving the others interlocked while moving his thumbs straight up and level. Chakra continued to flow through his system until it reached his hands, once here he began to picture his appearance, moving from his gear to his clothes, furthermore, he pictures his features and body type, picturing the image in his minds eye as he released the chakra.

the whole process took around twelve seconds, but Ryu had managed to make a decent clone, however as he looked towards it standing there he realised it had a few minor defects, he released the jutsu as started over again, this time concentrating less on the build-up of chakra and more on the image of himself, as if he was looking at himself in the mirror. appearing to his left the clone looked perfect, he had taken only a few attempts to get to this stage, but now he had to work on making the process quicker. Over the next few hours, Ryuuzaki continued the process of forming hand seals, building up and consequent release of chakra, several hours passed until he reached a point where he was happy he could perform the action in adequate time, even though he had not planned to get to this stage for the genin exam, his martial pride had taken over. An added bonus to the repetition was that he could create two clones instead of one.

A few days had passed since Ryuuzaki had worked on the clone jutsu, the rain had faded away and left a humid sunless vacuum behind. The heat had evaporated the water and the training conditions were more appropriate, not that it had bothered Ryuuzaki who only strived to enhance his abilities. Next, he was going to focus on the transformation jutsu, allowing himself to transform into the appearance of another being with similar body restrictions, a useful tool in infiltration and espionage, two skill Ryuuzaki lacked in at this point in his development, but something he would work on in the future to become a well-rounded shinobi.

Ryu had improved his chakra moulding skills of late so the process of drawing out chakra and moulding it in the correct amount had comealong nicely, he could now perform the jutsu he knew quick enough to be used during battle, but not under extreme time constraints. Ryu began to mould chakra and made the hand signs for dog, boar and ram, and allowed his chakra to flow outwards. For the transformation jutsu he needs a clear image of something to turn into, other than his own image he had spent the most time with his master, so could easily picture what he looked like, making it easiest for him to transform into Tendo. allowing a few seconds to pass Ryu then turned to a mirror he had brought along for the purpose of the training and looked himself over, as he did he allowed his chakra supply to be cut off, thus ending the jutsu. "I see, I need to continue the flow of chakra to keep the transformation," he said out loud to himself, as he was left looking at himself in the mirror.

Ryuuzaki took a deep breathe as he regained composure, allowing the chakra to flow through his body once again, this time building up a lower amount at the start of the jutsu, but keeping the flow constant. Ryuuzaki noted that keeping the jutsu going under stress must be extremely difficult, especially on something like espionage in enemy character, he would need to improve his mental agility to use this effectively, the one area in which he lacked discipline. Ryuuzaki was happy with the result and authenticity of the appearance, however, especially the time required for him to take on the form. Over the next few days he worked on maintaining his flow of chakra consistently and started training to keep the jutsu active while undergoing stress, he began doing his daily physical training while in the form of various other people, sometimes even changing appearance in between reps of activity.

Ryuuzaki allow himself to relax on a cliff edge, his legs hanging off the edge staring up into the mild sky, he was nearly ready, the time of the genin exam would soon be upon him, he would be ready, only the top of his class would satisfy him, he hoped the test would involve physical exertion.
