Come Out to Play (Amaterasu, Inv only) Empty Come Out to Play (Amaterasu, Inv only)

Mon Jan 07, 2019 11:46 pm
"Sir would you care to explain yourself?"

"I've already told you. I didn't do it and the person responsible is currently running to the east...Better get running."

The sound of two bickering voices somewhere out in the distance of the inn where he took shelter for the night. The proprietor and the male were arguing about the choices of a certain someone, who had simply stolen some 500 odd ryo from him which was...not too often judging from their argument. The male had nothing to do with it and simply watched the act occur, which caused great duress to the owner. After all a man could only act when he was going to get paid to apprehend a criminal...not do it for free. Luckily this wasn't the case and yet he had simply been a wanting a little adventure of his own until the male had been caught by some lousy do gooder. After a few minutes of arguing the make sighed and shook his head, tucking his arms and smiling," See the issue was resolved without me raising a hand so if you would excuse me I have somewhere to be."

A small smile followed by a bow from the white-haired male as he stepped away and made his way down the road, throwing the tail of his jacket into the air to signify triumph over the grumpy business owner- count your wins as they come. Toshizou began his stroll down the street looking into the many windows that he passed intrigued by their wares and where they got them. Were they a legitimate business or were they procured in a more underhanded way? The many questions that came with such an adventure meant that he could answer them any way he saw fit. The male eventually passed the ramen shop after turning down the owner who thought they could get a quick ryo out of the male because he looked naive- when he was anything but. Most would think he had been some official due to his attire, but in reality he had simply been wearing what his nomadic family had considered "normal" in their minds. The longer he walked the more he gathered about the place, his favored cigarette touching his lips as he began to smoke rather happily.

Moments passed before the doors? Swinging doors? Of the run down establishment opened and he stepped in. Looking around with a small derpy look on his face he stepped in, smoke trailing from the corners of his mouth and from his nostrils as he began to walk in looking for a seat. One of the first things he had always done was scope the area before taking a seat, there had always been a benefit to doing so, either a new meeting or perhaps even the best seat in the house. A small stroll revealed a single seat across from the bar that had been unoccupied, signaling his retreat to it. With a small smile he sat down and propped his feet up on the table since he had been there alone, and slowly smoked the self rolled tobacco in silence. Maybe he would be graced with company or maybe...just maybe today would grace him with something more. Only time would truly tell.

Come Out to Play (Amaterasu, Inv only) Empty Re: Come Out to Play (Amaterasu, Inv only)

Amaterasu Meijin stood a few feet behind Toshizou, watching the scene unfold in an eerily quiet manner. Her eyes trailed between the two figures as they discussed a stolen amount of ryo, flickering uneasily as she reached for her own ryo in a small leather pouch. She personally didn't see what the big deal was- she had five hundred ryo on her right now, and it was basically pocket change- she's pickpocketed lots more than that before, and nobody seemed to care a bit. Maybe they were poor? After a few moments, the culprit was caught, and the amount returned, though the argument persisted. She looked down at her feet, curiously. Maybe she should just take the money herself and be done with it? That way she wouldn't have to listen to that old fart ramble on... The instant her older brother figure mentioned leaving the scene to find somewhere else, her head perked up. A few strands of brown hair fell into her eyes as she did so, but they didn't seem to bother her. As the man began walking away, she turned around to face the business owner before giving a charming smile, filled to the brim with sympathy manufactured for the moment. She gave a short, subtly mocking curtsy before following Toshi.

He gazed at several shop windows, apparently deep in thought, and she found her eyes trailing after his. There were a few jewelry shops, which she wouldn't trust as far as she could throw to have legitimate wares, a few woodworking shops, even a blacksmith. She vaguely wondered what her old parents would've thought- they would likely have been disgusted at the state she had been living in. Not that she'd care. She never really understood that emotion herself, but she was pretty confident in her ability to fake it. She tilted her head, considering her relationship with the man she was following. She wasn't foolish enough to think that she was capable of familial love or affection in the traditional sense, but there was some form of connection between the two. She gained attention, something she desperately craved, and he gained company- it was more like a business transaction than a functioning friendship. When they ended up arriving at a ramen shop, she found herself trailing shortly behind him as usual- it was run down, with swinging doors and foggy windows. She decided then and there that she'd be more satisfied if she didn't know what was going on sanitation wise, much less what happened in the kitchens. Toshi's cigarette puffed fat plumes of smoke, and she watched the curling shapes trail skyward.

After a few moments, she took a seat next to him at the bar, eyeing his shoes which had been placed up on the table. She looked down at the table, placing her hands on it. They were pale and relatively uncalloused. She clenched her fists slightly. Barely noticeable trails of smoke drifted up from between her fingers. There was no fire or no fire jutsu to speak of, of course, but her body had odd tendencies. Sometimes, there would be sharp rises in internal temperature, not unlike an intense fever, which left her feeling better than before. Sometimes, smoke would leave her mouth or pores, despite not participating in the smoking of any form of drug. Sometimes, a faint glow would emanate from her irises- something that was fascinating to the twelve year old. She exhaled through her nose before waving over an employee of the establishment. Amaterasu pointed to the corner of a menu displayed in a dilapidated fashion above her head. "Can I have kitsune udon?" she ordered. She slid a handful of ryo across the counter. The thought of fried tofu and noodles made her salivate. Although her favorite food was fish, she had a weakness for anything even remotely unhealthy.

She swung her feet under the table a bit before turning back to her partner in crime. "I've been practicing some fire jutsu recently," she spoke simply. "I can make needles now, and explosions." her interest and affinity for fire ninjutsu was definitely something that Toshi would be aware of- given her propensity for talking about it almost nonstop, as well as the purchases of various fire jutsu scrolls that she frequently spent her pocket money on. She wasn't informing him for the sake of telling the man what she'd been up to, however- she wanted to see what he thought of it. His attention and respect was a resource she intensely valued, and one which she'd be willing to do some rather unsavory things to get. Generally, though, she just stuck with simple conversation and feats until she had the skills to back up her petty crimes. She never really cared about money itself when pickpocketing ryo or other valuables- it was all a massive ploy for attention.

She looked up at him, waiting for the man to respond. Although she didn't really care what kind of attention she received... she did enjoy positive attention more than negative. That was likely the main reason why she wasn't too outwardly cruel. She knew from experience that her innermost personality tended to drive people away- if it drove her mother and father away, people who were supposed to unconditionally love her, she didn't want to see what would happen with someone she'd known for just less than three years. Suddenly, a steaming bowl was placed in front of her, and a faint smile graced her lips. She broke apart her chopsticks nearly immediately. She poked at a chunk of suspicious looking fried tofu, which she honestly should've expected given the state of the establishment, before taking a tentative bite. It was decent- there were no immediately jarring flavors that would key her in to food poisoning later on that day, so she decided to continue. She picked at the tofu, fish cakes, and udon noodles alike, leaving the scallions alone (vegetables, ew). She spilled a small drop of nearly boiling broth onto her skin, but she didn't feel the burn. It slid down her wrist before falling onto the table. She looked back up at Toshi. What was he thinking, she wondered?

Come Out to Play (Amaterasu, Inv only) Empty Re: Come Out to Play (Amaterasu, Inv only)

Thu Jan 10, 2019 2:16 am
A hushed breeze would run through the alleyway carrying the will of the various agonized souls that failed to escape the clutches of the overbearing sadist within his primal onslaught. Bodies possessed by bloody cuts and purple bruising would saturate the alleyway as a petrifying yellow gleam followed the wind as it ran in fear. The figures lifeless glare featuring an ominous malice would move with an almost tranquil pace, keeping it’s same movement speed despite the human obstructions that laid in its path. Despite its efforts, the figure would catch up to the breeze as if it carried too many souls begging for their lives and became overencumbered, colliding with the wind as it withered away upon contact and dispersed as Kutari Uchiha emerged from the dark clutches of the alley, triumphing over his opponents in every field.

Wiping away a smudge of blood across his left cheek as it laid within his field of vision, his meek expression would downplay the utter chaos he just recently concluded as a lack of remorse or guilt would be as clear as day within the wake of the night. Slashing his arm with a quick motion through the air to rid his glove of the excess blood which attempted to slide down his arm, Kutari would focus his intention upon walking down the bleak street, the night life within the black market close to empty, shopkeepers and owners paranoid of potential robbery and criminal activities as it was the norm of such a world inhabiting rejects of lawful civilizations. The teen could barely blame them either, as even he’d be willing to sink to such a depth despite understanding the various positions they may be in, under the “protection” of criminal rings and forced to pay out of pocket for a lousy service, sometimes even hosting parties for people they barely know and house criminals. If Kutari understood correctly, the goons he just got done defeating were from a family similar to the one described, getting into a bit of trouble as he dipped into their zones and getting cornered in an alley late at night, it was unfortunate to learn they greatly underestimated Kutari and his own strengths. Though what once was an exhilarating way to pass the time throughout his days beating on cocky individuals and partaking in devious plots no longer held the same level of excitement as it once did; Kutari was beginning to become bored of the life he lived for the past few months, his strength growing but the opposition never following his progress. The acts that once made his blood pump excessively and adrenaline soar well beyond their previous limits would only express a dull sensation of the same flatlining quality he’s felt for days now, his name gaining infamy in these parts causing many to stray from his line of sight, the only fools willing to rustle his feathers falling quicker then the previous challenger.

The broken cobblestone pavement would be lit thanks to the occasional flickering streetlight, the town too poor to invest in an abundance of new streetlights to better illuminate the streets during the night. For this reason, the streets would typically be dead during such a timeframe, which allowed Kutari to go into a deep thought as he attempted to figure out what happened to him. Relaying his time day by day to pinpoint when it started to crumble down, he slowly realized that this all began quite a while ago, though he continued his antics as he had no real reason to stop or saw any people that gave him a reason to reach for higher goals and such. This all changed however upon his most recent robbing job, namely recalling the two faces of a young girl traveling with some idiotic boy during the woeful night, the demeanor in which she carried herself sprouting the concept of suppressed strength before her. From the words she spoke and how she reasoned with Kutari it seemed she was rather fond of her traveling partner and wanted to protect him from harm's way, and therefore forfeited her ryo as he did as well, though the matured Uchiha could tell she complied for that sole reason, otherwise he possibly would of had an intriguing battle partake in the wreck of a village. The thought of having a decent opponent caused his heart begin to beat quicker, his hands itching to grasp upon the handle of his blade and cut deeply into a worthy foe. A euphoric sensation would implant itself within Kutari’s being, the excitement and nerves just before a battle has begun, his vast imagination tailoring itself to Kutari’s wishes as the warrior revelled in the atmosphere of a battlefield, it being one of the few things which brought him joy anymore and kept his deeper emotions at bay. Not only this, but the thought of potentially stronger opponents hailing from these apparent villages which that girl originated from made him look towards the imaginative possibilities, wanting to sink his teeth into this tempting exquisite fruit that beckoned him over. The collection of thoughts and desires within cried out to him, begging the boy to leave behind this repetitive life he currently lived and follow his true purpose, though where would he go and how? Having little to no information on the outside world, he was nothing more than a twisted killer with a deft hand for luxurious items, though as he thought more such a reality traveling around came off as much more interesting then his current days beating those at the bottom of the food chain.

As he remained in thought, the teen would be brought out of his trance as he happened upon a familiar tavern that he’s happened to pass by on multiple occasions but never seek its hospitality, aware of the trivial acts he’d usually partake in to pass the time and cause a bit of mayhem, or at least what he used to find himself doing. Eyeing the swingable doors as he considered his options of continuing his walk in darkness or potentially finding something entertaining to do, his immediate answer inclined with his nature would be choosing the latter as he entered the establishment and looked around with a cool gaze. A typical tavern with little to no defining features, you could find the usual amount of people at such a time of night drinking with their coworkers or brothers in arms and telling stories amongst each other, or isolated alone and pondering the very concept of life after commiting a sin that a strong drink could never wash away. There’d be people of many backgrounds and beliefs though it all inhabited the same load of individuals in the end, reviewing this same image in his head many times. As heads turned to look at the newly opened door, a few would recognized the havoc bestowing titan and avoid making eye contact with his person, in which Kutari chose to ignore as it became a regular occurence ever since his most recent job, it bolstering his popularity amongst the folk in his area on top of what he already had done previously. What he previously took advantage of to heckle people when they avoided his gaze he’d now find no reason in partaking in. As he observed the insides of the tavern he’d focus on a table in the back as he explored around, expecting to see drunkards and confident oafs occupying the seats, though instead he settled his eyes upon a larger looking man with wild white hair and a relatively small looking child that was surely out of place in the setting of a tavern eating what looked to be noodles. A very peculiar duo as they stood out the most within the tavern with their odd clothing styles and acts taking place, focusing in more on the little girl, though sadly Kutari has witnessed much weirder in the past.

Taking his time to walk towards them, he would eye the two and overlook the expressions they were giving and their overall demeanor, dressed to the occasion of being formidable foes or at least housing the possibility, though at this exact moment Kutari had little patience to wait for the likes of them to grow in strength after losing his opportunity to combat a matured foe days ago.

As he neared the two unknown faces he’d introduce himself as he typically did, feeding into the usual persona he knew so well as it had been his main method of communication for so long, though he lacked the energy and thrill to fake a sadistic face as he so naturally summoned before, replaced by a cool expression as if he was legitimately inquiring about their whereabouts rather then heckling the duo. Focusing first on the older man as he almost ignored the girl’s presence as she ate her food, grabbing a nearby chair and pulling it over to their own table, allowed the wooden chair to graze along the already damaged wooden flooring as it slightly chipped apart during his destination. He’d plop the chair in front of the table and proceed to sit in it facing the two people sitting side by side, more tailored towards the man as he had a clear view on his face and could easily see what he was up to. Resting his right arm on the top back of the wooden chair as he got comfortable and relaxed, he’d begin to question the man about his actions and presence in the tavern itself, all with a silver tongue as it rolled around easily looking to cause trouble.

I didn’t realize just anybody can treat the tavern’s property like it’s their own. Surely you got some reason to have your dirty boots up like that and bring such a young girl in a place housing criminals and demented individuals. I haven’t seen your face around these parts, or at least enough to where you deserve to do what you want. So refresh my memory, who exactly are you again?

His words would be of a regular vocal volume and be quite monotone but immersed nonetheless in the story he was attempting to portray, obviously ignoring the many people that were doing a similar action with their feet throughout the establishment, obviously targeting the man before him. Kutari had little to no clue why he was heckling the man other than trying to bring a dead horse back to life, attempt to see whether he could revive the lost interest that fueled him for quite some time now, fearing what would come if the only thing keeping him away from his darker thoughts suddenly vanished. Though as he spoke, he felt nothing, the exact same sensation as before, a numbed feeling as if each previously nerve and exhilarating sensation was coated with a thick goo that nullified all senses. He watched the man waiting for his answer or something close to it to make things interesting for himself, or else he may die of utter boredom. His left arm would dangle in the air as he considered his options, wanting to feel something once more.

Come Out to Play (Amaterasu, Inv only) Empty Re: Come Out to Play (Amaterasu, Inv only)

Fri Jan 11, 2019 1:01 am
As the ashes slowly fell onto the floor beside him, his eyes closed only for a moment as he thought of his next movement. Of course he had a little sister like figure to look after even if he wasn't sure why she had followed him around still. Speaking of little sisters he parted his feet a bit to see the voice that had been talking to him, the voice belonging to none other than the person he had been thinking of. He knew their situation was less than ideal since he didn't really really pay her any mind most of the time, but that didn't mean he didn't care for her. Taking care of someone that had no blood relation to him was just something foreign to him..It was simply something that took time getting used to. As she explained what she had done as far as an accomplishment there had been a small smile on his lips before he pulled the cigarette from his mouth and blew a small cloud of smoke into the atmosphere," Good job. Keep it up and you'll be able to do something far greater." He didn't know if his words would inspire praise or just idle words.

As he slipped the cigarette back into his mouth he remembered his own affinity with the element the younger female had been talking about. Something they had in common besides the homelessness they also shared in common. She could have been his adopted daughter if things had actually went right in another life, but in this sad world one couldn't hold onto things such as children or siblings and survive. Yet the calm male kept his usual look and closed his eyes. As the scrapping of a chair began to ring through the tavern effortlessly, his eyes would open slowly and the crimson orbs looked over toward the uninvited male with curious intrigue. Whoever they had been they thought of themselves as higher than himself which bothered him only slightly, but he wouldn't show it. He had been far too calm and in control of his emotions to let someone intimidate him, but he would need to be careful just in case.

As the male questioned why he had his "dirty" boots on the table and why he treated said table like it was his, Toshi simply gave a small smile and removed the cigarette from his mouth once more to answer," Surely if the tavern keeper had such a problem with someone putting their "dirty" boots as you so aptly put them, then he would come over himself and express his disdain for my actions. Yet he stays behind his bar and minds his own so long as I do not destroy his property. Which brings me to the second point you so tried to make. Judging a book by its cover just because it is a young female. Even a girl as young as her can be as dangerous as any criminal or demented individual in this tavern. Thirdly, I don't think it quite matter who I am because you aren't someone I answer to in this life," the weird thing about how he responded was that he didn't raise his voice. It kept his calm and leveled tone throughout all of it to the end.

His crimson colored eyes never left the male in question as he looked over his attire and the over to Ama who would have still been there still eating. She was his responsibility, but he also knew the young female could take care of herself probably better than he could himself. Bringing his attention back to the male he offered the same smile before taking a small hit off of the cigarette," And who might you be to play the inquisitor of this quaint little tavern of criminals and low lifes?," basically he had been asking for the males name since he had interjected himself upon their table and asked questions.

Come Out to Play (Amaterasu, Inv only) Empty Re: Come Out to Play (Amaterasu, Inv only)

Fri Jan 11, 2019 7:40 pm
She nodded to herself at the praise of her older brother figure, satisfied with her progress. Of course she'd naturally be able to do far greater than what she accomplished now- a lesson she'd learned three years ago pointed to this as well. Not all people were created equal. Heroes never won- the people who came out on top were those who lied, cheated, and stole their way into power. That was why, in her opinion, she was better off than most thought- she simply didn't care about other people. They only had value in their use to her, present or future. Broken tools were meant to be discarded, loose ends were meant to be cut. Of course, some pillars were built to stand the test of time- Toshizou, for one, was someone who she could easily imagine making the brutal and bloody climb to the top with her. Interestingly enough, an unpleasant feeling churned in her gut when she imagined stepping over him. It was easier to see him by her side. She wasn't foolish enough to call this emotion actual affection of course- she hadn't felt such a thing before, and she doubted that she had the capacity. Not that the budding sociopath minded. She slipped on the masquerade of a younger child seamlessly, a gleaming light in her eyes flickering for a moment as she heard someone approach from behind. She very carefully didn't allow her muscles to tense, but she was ready to send wisps of flame towards the stranger's more sensitive appendages should he try anything remotely threatening. Fortunately enough, either for her or for him, he began to talk to the man next to her. As he scolded Toshizou for his behavior, she turned around, eyes wide. The stranger held himself dangerously, and the way he spoke reflected his own apathy. This was someone who wouldn't care who he had to go through to get what he wanted. This was someone who was dangerous. He must have started his climb up the chain well before her.

As Toshizou made his retort, she found herself oddly quiet, taking in the surroundings as well as the undertones of the conversation. He stated that the tavern owner didn't care- something she suspected was true. Much more disgusting things had been on these tables than a pair of shoes. His point on the relative level of danger compared to her youthful appearance was on the nose, of course. Her strength came not from her power, which was about average genin level when compared to village ninja, but from her willingness to fight scrappy and without remorse. She didn't care about the wife and child her target had at home. She didn't care about the donations to charity supplemented by the person quivering before her. Of course, when harassing other people, she generally took on other appearances, using the transformation technique- no need to let things get traced back to her that would negatively affect the young Meijin later on. She waited quietly for him to finish, acid yellow eyes furrowed slightly in her analysis. Amaterasu tilted her head to the side. Should the young man deign to answer, she would listen to his reply. Should he not, she would nod to herself. Names were dangerous, after all, and having the wrong person know yours could spell out future disasters.

Though he wanted to stick around and continue the festivities, it donned upon him suddenly he had other business to attend to. Much more deadly and impact then simply residing in a bar, he ignored the man and his questions assuming he was all talk and trying to act tough, rising from his seat and heading out without another word. The same thoughts would continue to run along his mind as he returned to his previous grounds and retrieve what he had lost, and pay a visit to the fools that dare tried to cross him, in time getting money out of it as well. There were many other actions he had to prepare for during the night, including learning more about the villages and the shinobi they housed and begin to exit this location he was awfully too well known for to continue his mischief.

Amaterasu scratched her head as the older dude left. Well, some things couldn't be helped, she supposed. She gathered up her things and eventually left a few minutes later. Maybe she and Toshizou could find something interesting to do later that day...
