The Sacred Kekkai Genkai, A Bitter Storm (private)
Thu Mar 21, 2019 7:33 pm
Jakku was waking up to his father leaving. He looked out the grimy, dirty window. Jakku rotated his skull, pointing his eyes toward the ceiling. He slowly stretched his neck, recovering from the spar he had with his friend last night. Jakku looked outside again. He saw a storm brewing. It was an ugly, murky storm-gray color. One of those storms where it just drains the energy out of you and you don’t feel like doing anything. But he knew he many laborious tasks to do.
The black-haired Uchiha gathered his dwindling resolve and got up from his bed. He came downstairs, eating a few slices of beef jerky as breakfast. He put his feet into his sandals and opened the sliding waxed paper door. Jakku came outside and felt the wind whipping through his jacket. The wind tumbled through the street, blowing many things around. He turned into an alley so he could find shelter from the wind.
As he entered the alley, he saw two bandits there. One of them was pretty tall, and he looked like he was much in need of food. The other one was short and like the other one, looked to be very hungry. One of them drew a katana from a sheath on his left hip, while the other pulled a long, blood-covered knife from his belt. Jakku immediately tensed to be ready for the easily foreseeable fight. The tall bandit said, “No need to worry little boy. Just hand over all your money and we might not kill you.”
Jakku replied, “Stop trying to destroy Konoha’s peace or you won’t be going anywhere.” The Uchiha’s single-mindedness started to set in and he was even more willing to kill these two trouble makers without hesitation. The shorter bandit ran at Jakku with his knife in hand. He made a quick stab at Jakku. As the Uchiha jumped up, he threw a shuriken. The shuriken cut slightly into the thief’s neck, knocking him out.
As the tall thief approached him, katana in hand, Jakku pulled a kunai from his belt and ran at the man. The bandit swung his katana back, prepared to bring it downwards in a devastating blow. Jakku slid to the right, avoiding the sword as it came arcing down. He felt the air whip by him as the bandit’s sword hit the ground. The thief said to him, “It seems you’ve avoided my attack. But can you dodge this?!”
All of a sudden, the man that Jakku thought he had knocked out lunged forward, blood-covered knife in hand. Jakku simply sidestepped and slide his kunai into the man’s throat. He heard the sickly sound of blood gushing out as the blade cut through the trachea and esophagus. The other bandit, seeing the devastation that had been delivered to his teammate, smartly ran away into the distance.
All of a sudden the Konoha Police showed up and were immediately surprised as the boy with the blood-soaked kunai knife stood above the dead man. They walked up to Jakku and said, “Young boy! Did you do this?”
“Ummm, yeah.”
“Why did you do this?”
“He threatened my life.”
“But why kill him?”
“Because, if you beat someone once, they’ll come back again.”
“And?”
“You have to beat someone so hard that they never come back again. Ever.”
Jakku walked away, leaving the police officer bewildered. The Uchiha wiped his knife along his pants, leaving a stain of blood there. Jakku walked towards the Academy, very slowly. He paused at the Academy, looking at the forest of muted-green colors behind it. He came in the front door and proceeded down the hall to his class. As he walked down the oak-floored hallway, he felt like he had done something for Konoha today. Something useful. He had stopped a bandit. Even though it might have been one and one only, it was still a step towards a better Konoha.
Jakku walked up the stairs, talking off his damp jacket. He opened the door to his room and plopped down on his bed. The Uchiha threw his jacket aside, adding more to the mess that his floor was. To be fair, it had been a long day at the Academy. He started to think. As his thoughts wandered, he come upon something. This storm was special for Jakku. It had been almost two years ago when that day struck. That horrible, dreary, no-good day.
It was the day that made him feel empty inside. It was the day that destroyed who he loved most. It was the day that he wanted to shrivel up and die. It was the day that he wondered why he lived. It was the day that he wondered the point of existence. It was the day that made him want to give up. It was the day that destroyed a world. It was the day that Jakku felt consumed by darkness. It was the day that he felt like he couldn’t do anything. It was the day that he thought there was no hope. And Jakku wasn’t the only affected by it. His neighbor, Sora Uchiha, had much the same feelings.
Those feelings of emptiness. Those feelings of absolute despair. Those feelings of questioning your own existence. Both Sora and Jakku knew these feelings. Both knew death like the back of their hand. One of Jakku’s younger brother’s died, and all nine of Sora’s siblings were dead. They all knew the blackness. They both wondered, if they could obtain this point, would their Susano’o’s be black? Once in a spar, Jakku was controlled by a Nara’s shadow jutsu. The boy had said to him, “Now you’re controlled by darkness!”
After that spar, Jakku realized he would have to work alongside his darkness. He would have to live with it. But that still wouldn’t make the dead come back to life.
Jakku climbed out his window and climbed onto the roof. It was a typical tile roof, and it was built in a sweeping fashion. He decided to climb along the ridge-line of the roof, sitting down at the very edge. He meditated, hoping to figure out how he would live with his darkness.
After several minutes of meditation, Jakku suddenly slipped, falling downwards along the roof. As he neared the bottom, he knew what he had to do. He had to activate it. But first, he would have to remember. He would have to remember the day in which he had felt empty inside.

(Out of character note, flashback has started)
Jakku was at his friend’s house, all the way on the other side of the village from where he lived, the Uchiha district. They were playing Strongholds and Smokebreathers. Jakku was the currently the Stronghold Keeper at the moment. He and his friends were in the middle of a campaign. When they had last left off, they had left a dark, dreary stronghold and they were now coming to their king, King Azan the Viper.
He was a mighty ruler who had stopped the warring states period which had been raging for centuries in this land. He had bested all of the generals and beat all of the clans. But now, Emperor Xyxer the Water Dragon was entering this land, hoping to annex this territory to broaden his empire. Jakku started to narrate the events when his friend's mom came into the room. She announced, "Sorry boys, but a pretty gnarly storm is picking up and it might give you all a thrashing if you don't leave soon."
They all sighed and packed up the game board. His friend who had been hosting the event said, "Make sure to leave all the dice with me."
They all left the dice there and headed out. Jakku took a left, traveling through the village. After a brief walk, Jakku decided to duck into the grocery store. When he entered, he looked around for what he was gonna buy. He pulled his items off the shelves, paid at the cash register and walked out the door. The black-haired Uchiha zipped up his crimson jacket due to the quick wind that had picked up. No matter how much windproofing material that Jakku integrated to the outside of his jacket, it always couldn't stop these major winds. Well, no matter. These storms didn't come very often.
Jakku looked up to the sky. What he saw was a large surprise. When he had felt these winds, he had thought it was only a wind storm that was brewing. But now, it appeared as if there was a large thunderstorm as well. The sky was a churning murky gray. Jakku decided to hurry home. As he ran along the dusty gravel streets, he looked out at the muted greens of the forest that gave this village its namesake. He saw a few human-shaped forms flash through the trees.
All of a sudden, the tallest tree in the forest was struck by a blinding flash of plasma. The lightning brewed just like one of his father's Chidori. Jakku was unnerved by all of this and ran home. He just managed to keep his groceries from spilling out of his hands as he came home. As he opened the sliding waxed paper door, he noticed his mom and his dad were gone. Usually, at this time of day, his mom was home. He called into his brother’s room, “Hey dude, do you know where mom is?”
Jakku didn’t hear a response so he opened the door to his brother's room. It was empty. The black-haired Uchiha was surprised by the absence of his brother. He usually was taking a break from training right now. Jakku looked around the kitchen and saw that the bread was left out on the counter. As his stomach growled, he realized that he was starving. He grabbed the whole loaf of bread and just tore away at it. Once he was full and nourished, he decided to go next door. Jakku ran through the turbulent rain, tumbling wind, flashing lightning and rolling thunder. He ran around the corner and under Sora’s house’s porch.
The black-haired Uchiha knocked on the paneled wood next to the door. There was no response and the seconds slowly ticked by as Jakku waited for him. As Jakku waited, he heard a slight noise coming from the house. Jakku knocked again. The seconds ticked by, again. Jakku pressed his head against the door and listened more closely. He couldn’t identify the noise.
All of a sudden, it clicked. Someone was crying. Jakku decided to open up the waxed-paper door. He saw Sora, crouched over something. The tears were definitely were coming from Sora. As Jakku approached, he realized who Sora was crouched over. It was Sora’s father, Kizuna. He had a metal, steel-gray kunai stabbed through his heart. Jakku ran over to Sora, and Sora looked up at Jakku. Sora had a look in his eyes. There was something special there.
All of a sudden, Sora’s eyes turned red and they formed the one-tomoe form of the Sharingan. But they didn’t stop there. All of a sudden, a second tomoe formed. Jakku started to stutter as he was shocked at the exponential growth of Sora’s Sharingan. He was about to ask how it happened when he felt a change. The sadness of Kizuna’s death washed over him. Jakku felt something unlock inside of him. Something was different now. Jakku looked in the mirror beside him, and he saw he had activated his own Sharingan. It was still only a single tomoe, but it was the Sharingan none the less. He had awakened the Kekkai Genkai of the Uchiha clan, the Sharingan.

Jakku’s eyes formed the Kekkai Genkai of the Uchiha, the Sharingan. With his improved sensory skills, he managed to grab onto the edge of the roof. He precariously dangled on the edge of the roof. He climbed back up onto the roof and went through the window to his room. Jakku thought about what happened. It was simple. He was falling off the roof, he needed the Sharingan to save him, and the Sharingan saved him.
He came to a conclusion. Even though the Sharingan came from a dark place in his life, he still needed it. Jakku realized, he had to live with darkness. The Uchiha laid down on his bed and fell asleep.
