Sakura Corp. Halloween Ball Costume Contest

The snowy haired woman watched the contestants before her strut their stuff down the runaway, her nerves swelling as the crowd cheered loudly for each. Soon it would be her turn, soon she would have to walk down in front of everyone wearing a costume that wasn’t nearly as glamorous or interesting as some. In fact, she had decided to play off of some cliches rather than be magical or mythical, although she should’ve guessed that originality would’ve been better.

Oh well, there is always next time for us. Came a sudden burst of optimism she hadn’t experienced in months or years, since she had lost her reason to stay positive. Perhaps it had been the gentle and warm display of the golden haired woman and child that had taken the stage by storm and were slowly walking away, signifying the end of their turn and the start of hers. She took a deep breath and made her way to the part of the stage that the audience would see, her midnight furred companion following beside her as they were now standing together at the base of the runway.

This was their moment to shine.

And shine they did, as the duo waltzed down the medium length walkway. Kuro the wolf looked rather adorable in his wooly, fluffy sheep costume that somehow covered his six foot long and four foot tall frame, his crimson eyes scanning the crowd while his fangs protruded a couple of inches from his muzzle, in a way that Hikari found absolutely adorable and thought the rest of the party would as well. The play on words with his species was quite the ingenious move on the Hyuuga’s part if she did say so herself, and in all honesty his costume was far better than her own. She wanted to partake in a twist on the stereotypical bunny girl outfit, wanting to remain a little modest despite showing so much skin, and thus she wore a white tuxedo-esque back on the outfit that flowed almost to the back of her knees with a little bunny tail at her tailbone area. In her snowy white hair, which was not in its regular ponytail but cascading freely down her back, were two white rabbit ears clipped securely in place, and she wore four inch tall white, closed-toed heels to match her snowy attire. The normally black bodysuit was replaced with a bodysuit the same color as her hair, and to keep from showing her bare legs she wore black tights. Lastly, a cute bunny girl needed accessories, so Hikari had adorned her outfit with tuxedo cuffs on both her wrists, black bows tied around both her biceps, and a frilly, white garter around her right thigh.

Halfway down the runway the duo stopped in sync, the bunny turning to the right, blowing the audience a kiss with her left hand on her waist as she bent her body towards the audience, and the wolf to the left, giving the crowd a soft, but still fierce, howl.

Then they made their way to the center, all eyes on them as they prepared for the biggest part of their act. To start off this section of their routine they both spun around once before Kuro took a predatory stance behind her, fangs bared and a low growl emanating from his throat, as if he was about to attack. Hikari feigned innocence and bounced from side to side in the center and acting as cute as a real bunny in her gestures, as if she couldn’t hear the creeping wolf behind her before it was too late, turning around right as he lunged forward. A second before he was going to hit her head on with his sharpened claws, she dropped to the ground and rolled away, with Kuro landing on the very edge of the stage, saliva dripping from his opened mouth and daggers flying from his glaring eyes.

The people on the front row gasped, some having moved out of fright at the beast coming at them. A slow clap began to circle the room as Kuro went back to his normal guise, nuzzling Hikari as she climbed up from the ground and onto his back, her legs dangling over his right side, a grin painting her face as she waved to the crowd who had begun to shout and cheer loudly.

They had done it, pulling off the stunt smoothly, and the audience loved it more than they had anticipated. The duo took a bow, Kuro showcasing his strength by steadily bowing his upper body with the petite woman still on him, and turned on his heels. They were blowing kisses, winking, and howling towards different sections of the audience as they headed towards the exit, smiles and happy looks upon their faces at a job well done. The hardest part was over and now all they had to do was wait for the results while watching the rest of the contestants. Even if they didn’t win they had a hell of a time together.
