In Good Company (P, Yaju)
Thu Feb 20, 2020 12:18 am
The secluded cabin had smoke curling lazily from the chimney, drifting upwards into a cloudless noontime sky. The cleared woodland around it had a thick aroma wafting through- he was currently smoking some meats for later. Zan exhaled heavily to himself. The living room of his cabin had been fully repaired from the incident a few weeks ago- and on the small table lay a bottle of fine aged sake, purchased quite a while ago for an occasion such as this. An old acquaintance was coming to visit- one Yaju Hayate- and, well, let it not be said that he was a bad host. His bedroom and bathroom were still trashed, of course, but hopefully that wouldn't be an issue. Yaju must've suspected that there was some unseen force that troubled him. He made no effort to hide the Entity's influence over his life. He clenched his fist as he eyed the meats in the refrigerator- freshly hunted and skinned. Perhaps if their meeting went well, he could prepare something for dinner? A shrug. He wasn't a particularly fancy cook, but he knew how to make a pretty good steak.
He stretched hugely, placing two shot glasses on the table before heading outside. Chuunin exams were coming up, and he was grossly unprepared. In truth, he had no idea what to do to prepare, and... Well, maybe Yaju would be willing to part with some knowledge? Most of his weapons were hunting grade, yes- but against other trained ninja, who likely could use chakra based jutsu infinitely better than he could... Well, he was at a loss for words.
He sat down on a wooden rocking chair with a sigh, resting his head in his hands. In some ways, he preferred his old life in the pits- much simpler. Chakra was not an issue, and... well, he was often times the boss of himself. He didn't exactly care for many of the higher ups in Kumo. Most of them surrendered when the new guy took over- what did that say about them? What did that say about their character? Despite being entered into the Chuunin Exams, he couldn't quite find it in himself to ask the jounin or chuunin of Kumogakure for help. Perhaps Yaju would have some advice? He seemed to know his way around. Even so, he wasn't what one might call excited for the upcoming festivities. Showing off wasn't something he appreciated.
After a moment, he'd stand up and stretch. Hopefully his old friend would arrive soon.

There was something to be said about the current state of the world when someone needed his help. The ex-Kage had been enjoying his time in his old home for what it was worth. It allowed him some form of clarity to his ever turbulent mind and also allowed him to bring closure to some of his past. In the meantime he also had trouble figuring out his own path in life. He was no longer a Kage. He held only a responsibility as a Sage. His son had been somewhere out in the world but his summons were looking into that. In the meantime he found himself standing at the base of the mountains to visit someone he had considered a friend, one of the very few he still had alive. It wasn't a lie to say that Yaju was not the most helpful in certain situations, but he was an ear to listen to them. If it was something that dealt with in the past, and that list is endless, he would be able to help without an issue.
As he walked through the forest he relied on his ever powerful sense of smell to flesh out the cabin, the fresh plumes of smoke hitting his nostrils which turned him in the right direction. It took him a few moments to get to the cabin, his small hands rapping upon the door in a set of threes before waiting for the owner of the cabin to show up. He knew Zan would probably not recognize him in this form, but it was a guise he took a liking to while wandering the village. No one would recognize him as what he used to be, but now as a simple child wandering about. Once the door had opened he would look up to the towering male and smile with those wolfen teeth," Heard you were looking for me old friend? If you are seeking me out then you are definitely in a shit show. What is it ya need?," of course the look wouldn't give it away, but if Zan had used his Chakra to perceive he would see who it truly was.
