That’s all Zeref could hear as his alarm blasted him awake. It was around 8am when the alarm went off. He had a late night and wasent able to sleep much. He knew by the time he would wake up it would be somewhere in the afternoon, but that wasent acceptable today. Zeref had a mission he wanted to accomplish today and he wasent going to let not getting enough sleep hold him back. He had immediately got up, shutting his alarm off in the process. He quickly got dress and was ready to head out the door. From the rush that Zeref was in you would of thought something was wrong, he couldn’t help but have a frantic look on his face. The type of mission he would be going on wasent ranking one but he still thought being late was unacceptable. 

Zeref  greeted everyone as he rushed to the board by the village gates. He made sure to greet everyone that did the same to him. Even though he was in a rush his father had installed manners in him, not allowing him to disrespect someone by not returning a greeting. Today would be his first official team mission and he dint want to be the last one there. On a normal day Zeref would never be caught coming somewhere late and he wouldnt tolerate anyone making him wait , but he knew everyone was human and that somedays there had to be exceptions to the rules. Nobody was perfect and Zeref wasent one to make it seem like he or anyone else is or was. As he arrived at the n locations he had seen that no one was there, it made him wander. Was he actually earlier that what he was suppose to be. He pulled out a copy of the mission details and was shocked. He didnt realize that they were going on such a high ranking mission. It made him feel stupid for mis reading the details the first time he looked at it. At the same time his excitement grew.

He had never been on such a high ranking mission before and the fact that he was doing it so early in his genin life made him feel like he was destined for something great. He also realized that he was early to the meeting spot, Zeref then released a sigh. He had to make sure he was getting the right amount of sleep because the mistakes he made today was something he couldnt make a regular thing. Had he been out in the field and wasent able to think straight due to lack of sleep someone could of gotten hurt or even worse killed and Zeref refused to let someone die because of him. So while he awaited the arrival of his sensei and team mates he decided to read the details of the mission and possible think of a good way to start the mission off , but then decided it would be best to just wait untill everyone is there so he could just discuss it with the team,

Youta woke up early that morning and made sure to put on enough gear so that he would be ready for anything the mission threw at him. He was excited to work with his team on a mission. He could not wait to find out what they would be doing today. He finished getting ready making sure to put his headband on tight, from what he heard getting a new one would be a pain in ass. He did not want to deal with that anytime soon. He went downstairs and ate a well balanced breakfast. He grabbed some lunch and other food to snack on during the day. He would finish eating his breakfast as fast as he could because he was so excited to get this day started.

He would wander around town. Youta hated being late it gave him anxiety and caused him to panic. Since Youta was mostly raised by the elders of his clan and only visited this village on breaks and holidays he did not know the village all too well. He remembered what time and what the name of the place they were supposed to meet was but did not remember the directions that his father told him. He would continue to wander for a bit till he finally decided to ask someone for help. After they told him “that it was just a little further up then a left and go about three blocks.” Youta looked at them and thanked them profusely. He would run to the spot which upon arriving he would see Zeref there.

“Hey Zeref, how have you been doing lately? It has been a minute since we have seen each other. Have you seen or heard from the others yet?” Youta would then get distracted seeing the mission details and ask “Are those the mission details? Do you mind if I take a look or should we just wait for everyone and discuss this as a team?”

Another day and another letter delivered to the wilderness cabin of the young wolf. It mentioned meeting the team at the gates for some sort of mission. This was good, for it meant that Doctor Akabayashi would be there. The last thing that Sebastian would want to happen would be to transform against his will around the others, for that would likely spell the end of his days as a Hoshi shinobi and start his days as a prisoner or worse.
 
After finishing his pitcher of water, the man would toss on a loose fitting shirt and some dark breeches. He would refrain from eating anything, not because he lacked hunger but because he would need to check his traps for more small game and simply didn’t have the time to do so and still make it to the gates on time. Wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, he would get up and finish the outfit by wrapping his headband around his upper bicep then make his way outside and start his trek to the gates of Hoshi.
 
The walk was a fairly pleasant an uneventful experience, most folks giving him more than enough room and some avoiding him altogether. He had hoped there would be at least some details regarding the mission to think on, but the letter was surprisingly lacking in any details. Maybe it was some sort of security risk? The wolf would simply shrug and finish his walk to the gates. He would see that he was the third person to get there, and the Doctor wasn’t yet in sight. A sense of concern would crawl its way into the back of Loghain’s mind, uneasy about a handler not being present. He would have to hope his training to keep his condition in check would pay off here.
 
“Good day to you both,” Loghain would say as he approached the pair. “At least we aren’t meeting in the hospital again.” The wolf would crack a grin, recalling how unusual their first time meeting together had been. “So do either of you have the details of what we are to do today, or were those only given to our team leader?” He figured that one of them must have it, he just wasn’t sure if it was any of the Genin.

The doctor was woken up late in the night to go to the borders. It was strange, but he had work to do he would throw on his clothes in a hurry his hair everywhere from having just woken up. When he arrived at the scene the sight was gruesome. Apparently, the small cottage belonged to a local merchant named Mayuri Cato he sold jewelry and occasionally sold some things found in a different type of market based on previous arrest reports the ninja were passing him. "We think it was two attackers one killed Cato's wife, but he managed to kill the guy before he was taken. We called you because this is more your area of expertise tracking people on the borders."

Kneeling down Akabayashi would look at the body of the woman she had a stab wound on her chest she had been attacked in the front and she tried to stop the attack with her hand but the force was enough to go straight threw and into her heart. "Where is the man Cato took down?" A chuunin showed Akabayashi to the body, but something was off. The man had multiple stab wounds and was holding a knife in his right hand. The hand was solid from sitting for so long, but something about it didn't feel right. "Why is the knife in his right hand? The blade came in from the left." He would check the mans left hand which had no blood on it from what he could see. Leaning the body over he could see the body had been dragged here based on the dirt and grass stains on the man's back.


"Could you guys send a letter to my team we have a merchant to find." The doctor would continue looking around the place for some clue on where Cato could have been taken, but there were none. The wanderer's instincts told him whomever "kidnapped" the merchant would take him down Meteor  and trail through the desert heading toward an old bandit camp that was owned by the Jaws of Grimma before they had been wiped out. He knew based on the knife wound whoever had killed Mrs. Cato was no ninja the blade had force behind it, but not as much as a ninja could make. He could hunt his prey slowly and enjoy it for the time being.

Akabayashi would come shortly after Loghain, but from the same direction. "Morning, I just got back from the merchant's house. He was kipnapped last night from the looks of it and we have to find him." He said kidnapped with air quotes. "I think they are going to an old bandit camp, to the West." He would then begin heading in that direction. Pretty sure he caught his wife cheating on him, but if he is going where I think he's going he probably will be kidnapped when we get there.

As Zeref waited the arrival of the rest of his team he couldnt but happen to notice how beautiful of a day it was in the village, more so than normal in his opioion. Not to much longer after he had started to day dream slowly one by one his team started to show up. First it was Youta , he didnt really remeber much about him besides he didnt want to mess with the dead body. As Youta got next to Zeref he asked about the mission details and attempted to make small talk. Not being one for much small talk Zeref kept it simple, " Ive been fine and the other shall be here shortly , yes i do have a spare copy of the mission details here ", Zeref said as he handed Youta his copy. Normally there wouldnt be an extra copy but today someone must of made a mistake. Shortly after Youta arrived next was sebastian, another one of his team mates he didnt really remember much about. Zeref was starting to think it was a waste having met at the hospital as they did. When sebastian arrived he also greeted Zeref and Youta before making his attempted at small talk, but once again Zeref wasent going to say much. "Hello , the details are with Youta but im sure our leader already has the mission details", Zeref said. 

Zeref was going to actually attempt to get to know his team mate but before he could ask any question their sensei arrived. Once Akabayashi arrived he broke down the mission and told them where they would be going and what he believed happened. Not wanting to waste anymore time , Zeref switched his gaze between his team and said, "Well if were all ready lets get going", He said as he awaited everyones response.

Youta having greeted his teammate took the mission notes that he had so he could learn a little more about what they would be doing today. He opened them up to read them. He saw something about a missing merchant and tracking down the merchant and saving him from whatever he had gotten himself into. Youta began to wonder if they would be facing other ninja, bandits, or maybe a foreign military of some sort. All these ideas began to go through Youta’s mind. He tried to read more details and saw that he had not been missing for too long and that he should not be far from town, hopefully.

He then watched as his third teammate began to come up to them. “Good day to you,Sebastian, how is it going. Oh ya we have some basic information I am sure that our team leader will have more information for us. This folder is rather scarce when it comes to information. My guess is that there is not much information on what we are going to be up against on this one so we should definitely be careful. But here is the folder with the mission brief if you want to look at it.” He then hands him the folder that Zeref handed him. He would then continue “I am so glad we are not meeting at the hospital that was a little bit creepy last time.”

At this time Youta sees his team leader coming into the area where they are meeting. He could tell by his face that this was a serious mission and that Akabayashi was not here today to teach them anything. He had a focus and sternness about him that Youta had not seen yet from his team leader. “A merchant was taken by bandits? The letter and folder we received was very vague about what we would be up against. Do we know how many bandits are in the camp? Do we have some sort of plan?” Before he got an answer though Akabayashi started to head away so Youta looked at Zeref and said “I guess we are ready, I guess let us get a move on before Akabayashi sensei leaves us.” He will start to follow his team leader.

Sebastian would accept the offer to read over the basic mission briefing folder. It was sparse on the details, but it at least let the team know what the primary objective was. So finding a merchant seemed easy enough, but there were always possibilities that could cause them all a great deal of trouble. What would they do if the merchant was captured by enemy forces? Would three rookie shinobi be able to take down the enemies while keeping the merchant safe, or at the very least alive? It would be no easy task to prevent them from just slitting the merchant’s throat when things started to look bad for them. It would mean no payout for any ransom, but it would also mean that the team failed the objective. Of course then their only bargaining chip would be removed… The wolf pondered this all as he finished his reading.
 
Doctor Akabayashi would appear, seemingly coming from outside the village as well. He had a good idea as to where the man was, and the doctor being the most experienced one here meant that the rookie would simply follow the man’s lead. When their leader started going, Youta spoke up asking about a plan, and details. “Perhaps we will need to do some reconnaissance once we near this bandit camp.” The wolf would add, nodding to the pair and then towards their team leader, “I’m ready as well. Hopefully this all gets resolved without unneeded bloodshed.” And then the wolf would follow, taking the rear position to allow his nose to help prevent the enemy from stalking and flanking the team from behind.

"I don't know how many bandits are there, but I do know they aren't particularly dangerous. Its why the village mostly ignores them, their presence keeps out worse ones from showing up, but if the merchant who doesn't know stumbles onto them and they think he is worth some money to the village then they create the a problem the village can't simply ignore. They will use the merchant as a hostage if we oppose them directly they will kill him. Make no mistake the merchant isn't innocent, he killed his wife and her lover but his safety is our mission. That is the priority." He would continue moving at a pace that was comfortable for the others, but fast.

"We will do some reconnaissance objectives of which will be find where they stashed our target, find out the size of the enemy force, and lastly find a way to avoid the bandits and get our merchant out alive." He would then move onto how to deal with the bandits. "When we have the merchant I will keep him safe my lava and medical jutsu are useful for defense. While I do that you three will kill the bandits. No survivors and no prisoners, others will take note of the brutality and keep their heads down for a while. I told you I would eventually order you to kill and today is the day." The deaths of the bandits weren't part of the mission it was unnecessary and that is exactly why the man had taken this mission he could do it correctly and create the killers the village needed. 

"I hope none of you have an aversion to this as I promise enemies will have no second thoughts on killing you." Out of all of them he suspected Youta to have the biggest issue with the task, Zeref to be the most enthused and Loghain to be somewhere in the middle between its not okay, but orders are orders.

Zeref would watch as the folder he was holding earlier get passed around to the rest of his team mates. He knew they wasent going to get much from that paper , cause it seems like the most important stuff gets relayed to the team leader in person. Zeref guessed it must be some secruity thing that the village does, either way it didnt bother Zeref much. He just wanted to get the job done and fast as possible and if some bloodsheed was to happen on the way so be it. Before starting his walk to the village gates Zeref would listen to the rest of what his sensei had to say and for once in a very long while a small smile appeared on Zeref face. He couldnt help but be happy that he would be allow to kill as many of the bandits that he would like. It had been a while since ha actually clashed blades with anyone that was trying to harm him , but then again he knew that he wouldnt get much of a challenge from the weak bandits that they would be facing today, so the smile didnt last long. Zeref sighed and realzied that he did have a team mate that might get a little over whelmed out there in the feild so Zeref knew to keep his eye on him. The one called sebastain though looked like he was great at hand to hand combat from the looks of it.

Once his sensei was done talking Zeref started walking to the gates , as he began walking he would say "If either of you have a problem with killing i suggest you stay here now and dont get someone or yourselfs out there killed, I would hate to be bringing back one of you on our first real mission out", Zeref would say taunting his team mates. Even though he seemed like he didnt care , Zeref hoped both of them would do a good job. More so that he wouldnt have to pick up their slack and not because he genuinely cared.

Youta would look at Akabayashi then try to catch up and say “I think I can help with the recon. I have a dojutsu that might be of use in helping in determining where the bandits and the merchant are. I think I can definitely tell you where they are. I really also only have 1 move that is useful but it is a range around me so I will need some room and it will fuse and neutralize chakra so it might knock down your barrier if you do not use a high enough level but it will also push with a lot of force. This is what the Yuumei does I just wanted to warn you before I do it.”

he would turn and look to Zeref and say “I have no problem killing it is just mutilating a dead body that has no appeal to me. It gives the Yuumei more to use to try to take over and then I will be stuck in darkness forever and that sounds unappealing. To say the least. Oh it’s a darkness in my mind which sucks to try to overcome. It is mostly a pain and no fun or at least that’s what the elders say would happen if you did certain things. I do not know if it is true but I just conquered it to learn how to use the Yuumei in my Dojutsu and it was tough and scary but worth it in the end.”

He would also turn to his third teammate Sabastain and say “It is probably fine as long as we do our best I can get you to the precise location of the bandits and we can surprise them. I should be able to find them.”
