Task: Our sensory ninjas detected an unknown chakra signature entering the area near village boundaries. It could be anything from an animal that is rarely found in the region or a potential missing ninja. Your task is to go out and survey the surroundings for any signs of potential threats to our village. If you find an enemy you and your team (if you so choose to form one) are to engage and nonlethally neutralize that threat for interrogation unless given no other option. Good luck, shinobi.

“What a pain in the ass,” Goku said when he stretched a hand high over his head while flourishing a piece of paper in front of his face with a piece of paper that supposedly told him what he needed to do.

Goku studied the paper closely and heard a couple bones pop in his back from his stretch that only told him that he was getting too old for this shit. He gathered that he was supposed to find something that was lurking around outside of the boundaries of a town and he was supposed to bring whatever it was in for questioning, assuming that was an option.

Goku decided to take this task seriously so he geared up in his Armor of the Crusader. Five kunai were on his person underneath the armor which would normally be an issue if he didn’t have a way of calling the equipment to his hand using a technique he’d recently learned. He wanted to bring his second sword to battle but it’d been sent off to a smith for adjustments. He’d have to make do without it. Thankfully he had his refined katana sheathed at his side.

Goku stood at a crossroads not too far from where he would start his search. He was waiting for someone else to show up since he was told to expect some company. He leaned against the sign post and murmured, “I hope whoever shows up is good at fighting. I don’t have time to babysit…”

Time came and went. When it was noon Goku realized nobody else was coming so he set out on the path to find this disturbance he was looking for to fulfill the mission requirements.

Uchiha, Iryūjon:

Uchiha, Iryūjon was a short man for his age, he stood at 5ft4 and was slightly overweight for his height, giving him a stocky appearance. He had neck-length black hair that was shaggy and covered much of his face above the eyes and swept to the side so he could see. He had a plain-looking face apart from the eyepatch covering his right eye, the hint of a scar could be seen below it if his hair was not covering that side of his face. He wore a dark blue overcoat with no buttons and a folded collar, it reached down to his knees. Covering the shoulders and ribs were pairs of shaped metal that were attempting to provide protection to the man's vital organ and weak points, but due to the ill-fitting garment, their accuracy would probably but close to zero. Underneath the overcoat he wore a plain black t-shirt tucked into a pair of black trousers, they were kept up by a white robe tied tightly across his slightly curved belly. On either of his wrists, he had a wrapping of black fabric, perhaps covering something or perhaps just for fashion. He had a pair of black sandals wrapped around his feet and on his back sat a ninja pouch with 5 kunai and 5 shurikens inside.

The road Goku was traveling along would eventually become less and less well maintained and eventually give in to a more gravel path with debris scattered along the side of it, the path was 5m wide and would travel in a near enough straight line for as far as the eye could see. The first notable landmark he would come across would be pillars of marble that bordered the path, they were in various different stages of decay, some stood tall still at their base but had the top missing, some were toppled and laying along the border of the path, the pillars had a diameter of 2m, given them a circumference of 6 meters, and were spaced out 10m between each other or were in their original positions. After 5 sets of pillars in their various states, the middle of the path would be occupied by a broken cart, one wheel broken off and laying a few meters away, the other snapped in half, but still on the cart. Spewn around the cart were various boxes, most f them open and empty, but one lay up against the cart and had what looked like to be something shiny and golden within it. Behind the cart were two fallen pillars, both of which had fallen across the pathway and created a natural blockage, almost like a gate.

Iryūjon knelt on top of one of the destroyed pillars, he was 6m up in the air and had defilade from the path approaching from Goku's direction, he was also covered up to his shoulders from the direction of the cart, which was 8m away from the base of the pillar as the crow flies. Iryūjon awaited someone to come along and investigate the cart, it would be his second victim of the day if successful.

Goku was walking along when he saw what appeared to be a big fucking mess of boxes and pillars and general debris that looked reminiscent of what the would call an attack. There was a suspicious looking cart that just begged to be looked at but Goku didn't know if it had been rigged to explode or if something was inside of it so he wanted to keep his distance.

"Well I think I found what the mission folks have been bitching about," he said with a lazy yawn. He created a shadow clone when he was about fifteen meters away from the cart/gate and told the clone to, "go check it out. I'll keep an eye out."

"Of course I have to do it," the clone said with a groan. He couldn't complain too much though, it was exciting to investigate.

The clone would briskly walk on up to the cart and start looking around while Goku stayed put and scanned the surroundings. Neither would immediately spot the enemy hiding if he chose to stay in hiding... But eventually they would likely find clues that would lead to discovering that there has been an attack earlier in the day. The cart was already a big giveaway unless it had been planted there.

Iryūjon hunkered down in his hiding spot as the minutes and hours passed, eventually, Goku would arrive within 15m of the cart. Iryūjon was alerted to his presence due to Goku's footsteps, when he stopped 15m away from the cart he was also 7m away from Iryūjon's pillar. Iryūjon peeked around the pillar to see his next intended pray summon a shadow clone, as this was happening Iryūjon activated his Sharingan and performed the False Surroundings technique, due to his mastery of the technique he would need to perform no handseals. Iryūjon would remain hidden unless Goku specifically was looking to his right and up at the top of the pillar.

With the center point of the jutsu being the space in between the two Goku's the earth began to shake and split apart at certain points. At an alarming speed of 200, the earth 5m on either side of the pair would split apart and a wall of earth would rise out of the ground that was 10m in length in total, covering 5m in front and behind the pair of Goku's. At the same time, two more sections of earth would rise up and connect to the other two sections of wall to create a rectangular prison of earth, 10m long and tall and 5m wide, a roof connected across the top of the 4 walls. The sections of the wall and ceiling were not complete and every other 15cms there was a break in the wall from top to bottom, effectively creating an earthen prison cell. 

The speed at which the illusionary jutsu raised might arouse suspicion if Goku had training in Earth jutsu, or it might indicate to him that he was facing a particularly powerful ninjutsu user, both of which were untrue of course. However, that was exactly what Iryūjon did, he used illusions to try and seem more powerful than he was. Iryūjon would wait in his section of pillar up above the prison and see what the two parallels of Goku would do, his Sharingan looking for the slightest hint of movement.

Imagine Goku’s surprise when out of the blue a massive cage was constructed right from the ground he stood on. “Holy shit!” he shouted. His first instinct was, of course, to try escaping the jutsu but even though he sprinted to the end of the cage as fast as he could he wasn’t in time to clear it. He saw the top being formed as well so it wasn’t like he could jump out either.
 
When Goku got to the end of the cage he drew his blade and chopped at the earthen prison wall at waist level to see if he could cut through it. Unless the illusion had some material property to it that stopped his blade from slicing through like butter Goku would realize that something was amiss.
 
“must be a genjutsu! My sword went right through it!” he’d call out to his clone as he stepped out of the prison and started looking around.
 
“Hey, I know you’re around here. Come out and fight!” the clone shouted. It also had stepped out of the cage after testing it with its blade.  
 
For the life of them they still couldn’t spot the enemy. It only served to remind them that they really ought to start learning some sensory jutsu. “Just start breaking shit I guess?” Goku called out to his clone.
 
“Sure, whatever,” the clone shouted back. If uninterrupted it would create a Lighting Beast Tracking Fang jutsu and the lighting hound would start rampaging around and breaking everything it could within range at ground level. If given enough time the crates and pillars in a 20m radius would be broken down. Meanwhile Goku kept an eye out to see if anyone was going to jump out at them. He was fully expecting the enemy to be invisible at this point if they were that skillful at genjutsu.

Iryūjon watched on as his illusion took hold and appeared to box in the pair of Goku's, the genjutsu sapped at their stamina and chakra. The original Goku would sprint at the end of the earthen prison to try and escape, but as the illusion was designed it appeared that the prison rose at speed even faster than Goku. The chakra control and ability to create earth jutsu at that speed would be on par with an enhanced S-rank individual, perhaps even only someone as high level as a master or a kage. Iryūjon certainly was not a ninja of that level, but he had a good eye for detail, with the addition of chakra vision. These two combined allowed him to at least try to fool people into thinking he was a high-level ninja.

As Goku swang at the earthen prison, Iryūjon made a quick change to the illusion. Using his sharingan's ability to foreshadow movement he timed the illusion to include Goku's sword breaking against the earthen prison wall, and making no mark. If Goku had a clear mind he would be able to realize that even though it appeared his word broke he would have felt no resistance as his blade impacted the wall. Iryūjon used all of his experience with genjutsu to try and make it seem real, the blade would impact and a sound would be heard, then the blade would snap, at least in the illusion.

After the change in the illusion if the clone of Goku would continue his action he would create a beast of lightning. If the beast were to rampage around he would easily pass through the illusion and continue on to break the cart and the wooden boxes. However, if he were to continue to rage and impact the pillars he would have insufficient power to break them. Iryūjon decided that he would wait at least a little longer before he would take the fight to the individual, making full use of his genjutsu as long as he was able to maintain it, hopefully, he would be able to sap the ninja chakra all away and cause him to pass out before he was found, then he could rob him of all his money and be on his way. Obviously, with this ninja arrival, Iryūjon had assumed that the local village had sent someone to capture or kill him, so it was probably time to move on to another hunting ground.

Goku cocked an eyebrow when his sword broke. “holy hell. I’ve never seen a cage with offensive properties before,” he said. He looked over to his clone who had pretty much destroyed everything except the pillars with the ninjutsu it’d used. Whoever was here, if anyone even was here, was clearly too stealthy for them to see. Still, things didn’t seem that bad yet. The cage was just a cage when it came down to it. These sorts of things tended to have a set time limit before crumbling so Goku thought, “I’ll just wait around and see if the prison falters.”

The clone walked over and yawned as it did so. “you got any other ideas?”

Goku shook his head and said, “nope. I guess eventually someone else comes around and gets us out of here. Unless we get attacked I guess we just play the waiting game. Maybe you could try digging a hole to crawl through or something.”

The clone groaned but he took out a kunai all the same. He started chipping away at the ground to try digging a hole to crawl out through slowly but surely. If uninterrupted the hole would be a meter in diameter that’d exit right outside the cage. It might take hours but they had all the time in the world…

Iryūjon looked on as the pair of Goku's floundered about within the earthen illusionary prison, their chakra still being sapped by his genjutsu which he currently was maintaining. The illusionary prison would only last a little longer, Iryūjon decided that it was time to act. Iryūjon crept down the side of the pillar using the surface walking jutsu on the opposing side than the vision of his opponents, as he did so he performed 4 handseals Tiger > Rat > Dog > Boar. Once the handseals were complete he slammed his hand onto the ground and a web of intricate orange strands started to spread out from his palm. All of this would be unseen to his opponent unless he possessed some kind of sensory ability.

The web would spread out 15m wide and its radius would be 7.5m long at its longest point. Iryūjon using his Sharingan and the sensory ability of the blistering web waited till the clone Goku would be digging into the ground he would be met with a 2m wide explosion, instantly vaporizing him due to being a shadow clone unless he could evade somehow. At the point of needing to do so Iryūjon would make the Ram handseal to trigger the explosion. Iryūjon then waited behind the pillar to see what the real Goku would do next, the earthen prison illusion still operating.

“Welp,” Goku thought when his clone exploded and the cage finally went away, “No point in hanging around if nobody is even here anymore.” He’d stretch out and look around one last time. Seeing nothing but the pillars, no enemy, and a big ol’ mess of broken wooden parts lying around Goku sauntered off back home.
