Aristocrat off-track, with a bad back! (Mission)
Tue Jul 13, 2021 1:42 pm
Mission: Aristocrat Off-Track
Participating Shinobi Stats: Uchiha, Shiroyasha
Part 1: Leaving for the Silk Road
Early morning had just begun, and Shiroyasha was faithfully at work already. Rising from his slumber just before the crack of dawn, the Uchiha had his typical plans ahead of him. After scrubbing the grease from his body, the sleepy headed teenager made his way to the kitchen. He found some left over rice, and tossed it in the wok with some soy sauce. In just ten minutes he was frying an egg. Careful not to spoil his clothes, Shiroyasha left the pan on the range and washed his bowl. With breakfast done, he was ready for the day.
Shiroyasha had a dedicated training regimen he followed everyday. Before begining any shinobi missions he had a list of physical trainings to complete. First on the list was sprinting down the mountain he lived on, wear weights equal to three quarters of his weight. After he ran down the mountain, Shiroyasha made his way through the desert to a large boulder. This boulder was wrapped in leather, and he would practice simple punching and kicking. After five thousand double punches, and one thousand of each basic kick he sprinted to Hoshigakure for missions.
Shiro stepped out of his families temple eager for his training to begin. The tall teenager looked exceptionally large as he jogged into the gazebo like courtyard, passing his mother's rose garden and heading for the gates that confined the Uchiha Temple of Aiya. His mother laid in bed while she watched him run off, noting the weights he wore on his wrists and ankles.
Wearing his black robe, Shiroyasha was fully equipped for the day. The sleek black leather covered his pale skin from the cold winds, and his golden embroidery ensured he looked particularly clean cut. On the back of his coat the Uchiha Crest was sewn in, and he proudly began his jog. Shiro ran along the path descending the mountain he lived atop, and by 8am he had arrived in Hoshigakure. With his weights still on, clipped to his ankles and wrists like jewelry, Shiro perused the available mission dossiers.
Usually Shiro would search the lower Ranked missions first, managing his time wisely so he was able to practice his faith lightly as well as clean the temple grounds. Feeling adventurous the Uchiha ninja started with B Ranked missions. To his dismay the only available ones were for teams of Genin, so the lone ranger flipped the book to C ranked.
The first mission he saw was a mysterious one. There was an expected arrival of nobility to Hoshigakure, however the nobleman was 3 days late. Eager to help an esteemed member of society Shiro accepted the urgent request to discover the whereabouts of a nobleman named Fu. Nobleman Fu had last been seen being carried atop a tamed bears back, somewhere west along the borders. Shiro was tasked with finding him, and bringing him back.
The possibility of his bear turning against him was largely overlooked, as most knew Nobleman Fu to be close with his pet. Shiroyasha was suspicious however, and investigated further before leaving the village. It seemed that Fu had unconventionally forgone the usual accompaniment of soldiers to protect him on the roads. It was believed bandits had taken Fu captive, so Shiroyasha was given records on known bandit groups west of the Hoshi Border.
Afterbbeing debriefed on the various mercenary bandits, Shiro couldnt still help wondering if this bear had attacked the nobleman, and prepared himself for the mission no matter what the cause of Fu's disappearance was. His kind heart had gotten the better of him in taking this mission so he prayed to Aiya that mercy was blessed upon Fu. Shiro was most hopeful not to be carrying a detached corpse head back home. After all his kindness urged him to take the mission, he could only hopehis relief was welcomed by the living.
Before leaving the village Shiro stopped by a blacksmith, eager to see the work he had done with his lance. To Shiros dismay the blacksmith was unable to restore the golden mechanism that retracted Moerusharin's spine. While being unable to retract his lance, Shiro still paid for the repairs. He strapped it to his back, and headed off. Shiro was prepared to kill if he was out in the situation, and his spear was an excellent weapon even without its surprise extension ability.
Part 2: Tracking Fu
Once he had exited Hoshigakures cobbled stone roads, and traveled a good two days west, the scenery began to change explicitly. The terrain was previously desert like, with canyons and rocks covering large earthy hills that culminated into small mountains; but now there were more trees. Shiro was certain he would be close to nobleman soon, and stayed on the Silk Road to Hoshigakure.
The Silk Road was named so because of the many different species of silk spiders that lived in the milkweed growing along the path of the road. Shiroyasha was horribly disturbed, however he pressed forward and did his best to overlook any of the tiny creepy crawlers. To his relief most of the spiders were smaller than his pinky, and ignoring their webs was easy if he stayed on the road.
Traveling for another day in the humid forest Shiro was certain he was onto Nobleman Fu's trail. He had found giant bear dung, and even toilet paper along the road. Shiroyasha was certain to note the nobleman wasn't particularly interested in maintaining the environments integrity. Despite the savageness of Fu's disregard for cleanliness, Shiro was unable to determine if violence had occurred on a human. There were no struggle signs, only poop to follow; so Shiroyasha traveled for another day.
The young teenager couldnt help but laugh to himself, following literal poop to find a rich member of politics in his country.
Part 3: The Noble in a Bush
Early in the morning Shiroyasha shockingly discovered Nobleman Fu laying on his stomach in a bush. The nobleman was unconscious and his bear was nowhere to be found after following the trail for 20 meters. Shiroyasha tried to wake Fu when he returned to no avail, and waited by the roadside. After 3 hours of Shiroyasha monitoring his pulse and breathing Fu awoke.
The Nobleman spoke with a real nasally voice, and face first into a bush it was even harder to hear him. "I broke my back!" Fu screamed, unable to get up. Shiryasha winced as the old man screamed and groaned. The impact to his Spain was surely painful, and the Hoshi ninja scrambled to ease the mans pain. He gave him a food pill, and helped him drink some water before turning him over.
Shiroyasha did his best to calm the man, and rolled him over carefully. Fu could move his arms, but his legs were limp. Fu told Shiro his bear had stomped on him after bucking him off and darting into the woods. Fu had been laying there for days, rained on and all.
Part 4: Savage Battle
"Usually I dont need guards, my bear is good- was good for that." Fu cried to Shiroyasha as he wagged his arms around helplesslly. To Shiroyasha's surprise, he heard huffing from the trees next to him while Fu told his story. There seemed to be a large presence shuffling it's way close to the two who were talking. In seconds Fu exclaimed with familiarity, terrified now that he could hear his savage bear closing in on him again.
Shiroyasha jumped into action. Front flipping over Fu and acting as an obstacle between the two. The bear was in sight. It was running at him full speed, and then unusually long hair of the bear flowed around it. Shiroyasha drew his spear from his back, spinning it once and entering a long range stance.
The Uchiha prepared to size up the bear when it attacked suddenly. The giant bear claw rushed as Shiro and he was just able to deflect it with his lance. The weapon flew out of his hands, and he rolled back sloppily from impact with the bears claw. Shiroyasha was bleeding, the strong bear claw shredding through his clothing like paper.
Meanwhile Fu was screaming wildly. Amidst his blood curdling shriek the bear noticed him and rushed the cripple.
Shiroyasha put together hand seals and performed the substitution jutsu on a rock Fu was leaning on. Shiro appeared next to Fu instantly, and quickly sent a heel kick into the brown bears jaw as it tried to bite Fu's head off. The Uchiha moved forward, leaving Fu to incessantly scream in terror.
Shiroyasha rolled toward his lance while the bear charged him once more. Grabbing it and rolling forward, Shiroyasha doubled back. The bear was almost within reach of Fu again, when Shiroyasha swung his lance in an arc. The spikes protruding from its radial sides pierced the skull of the bear and killed it.
Part 5: On the Way Home, Miserably
Shiroyasha slowly walked over to where Fu was laying, gripping his bloodied arm. When he crouched down to Fu he did his best to console him and said in between panting from the surface pain, "We will get you to Hoshigakure where medics can treat you. Have no fears, tonight we will head back, and I will guard your safety." Shiro turned his attention away from the bloody bear corpse, and stood nineteen Fu'a view of his dead bear.
Shiroyasha prepared to carry Fu on his back. The teenager was strong but after his battle with the bear and considering how large Fu was big; Shiro expected the trip to take at least double the initial strwtch.
The hopeful teenager talked with the fragile and elderly nobleman, constantly reassuring him they were only 8 days away from home. After providing him with Food Pills, Fu was calm and suffered no overwhelmingly present threats of starving to death. Shiros clothes were ripped, and he had some thick cuts in his flesh. Where the bear struck his shoulder Shiro had a bruise, and his physical status wasn't ideal for carrying someone on his back.
Had Shiroyasha been any less patient, he might have been less kind with the nagging old man. Besides being in pain, Fu was not a real genuine or sympathetic man, constantly rushing Shiro to the hospital in Hoshigakure Hoshigakure completely ignoring the fatigue Shiro was under from battling with the bear. Shiro did his best to grit his teeth and listen to the cries of an injured old man and steadily fed him Food Pills to keep him quiet.
The trip took double the amount of time returning as it had to find Fu, with Shiroyasha carrying his fat limp body on his back the entire way. When Shiro made it to the Village gates with Fu on his back, medical ninja took the nobleman to a hospital.
Fu would never walk again, and made a record amount of complaints about the hospital. A cranky but rich old man had been robbed of his mobility out on the border, and would surely suffer political loss from his family being unable to provide an able bodied leader. He was greatly saddened by the death of his bear, and plans to have another. However instead of training it as a pet, he is considering requesting Hoshigakure ninja to help him create a battle ready warrior.
Uchiha Cult: Hoshigakure Cult of Aiya, Lunar Goddess
Shiroyasha was promptly paid for his service, and returned home very tired. He had only a few food pills left, Fu eating most of them to himself on the way home. Shiro wanted to rush home and sleep in his bed, but instead decided to stop by a local farm.
After buying freshly chilled goat milk, he made his way home. The Uchiha was eager to pray with Aiya his Goddess, and tell her about his mission. The young man had kept his mouth quiet for so long with Fu, he had so much to tell Aiya about the new experience he acquired.
Without his Sharingan awakened Aiya couldnt communicate to Shiro from the chakra infused statue that was protected by the Uchiha cult within Hoshigakure. Despite this, he knew she listened to what his father told her; as well she could resonate with his chakra frequency through ritual prayer and sense his emotions, so Shiro continued his religious practice as a member of the Temple of Aiya.
