Kikuko would let out a small giggle at Saya’s admissions, the idea of a ship with a giant Saya face stretched across it bringing joy from the corners of her mouth all the way up into the twinkling of her eyes. As much as she was worried, this still being an S-rank class mission, somehow it felt that with a person who was so upbeat as Saya that losing was simply impossible. Did she know better than that? Absolutely. However, there was nothing wrong with dreaming every once in a while. She would be cautious as they moved forward regardless.

As Saya okayed the usage of her vessel, she would wonder internally when she had the time to instruct her crew to ready the vessel. Perhaps it had been while they were talking to Temujin? Or maybe even earlier? While it felt sudden in the moment, she felt that it was a rather genius piece of pre-preparation for what might end up being a rather colossal battle in of itself.

And then she gave her the look. The look that she knew so well, the look that asked that anything as trifling as the risk of death was going to stop one Sayatria Lenoria Tass. And you know what? Frankly, she was right. She should know better, considering that this was her teammate she was talking about. Then again, it wasn’t a bad thing to check regardless from time to time anyways.

As they set sail from the docks, Kikuko would peer from the side of the boat into the waters as they sailed into ever deeper waters, looking for any shadows out of proportion in the water. While the briny deep wasn't exactly made for easy sight, after a certain size of creature it became trivial to spot even if the water was a slate blue color. Then again, she still had no idea what exact sort of creature they were looking for beyond that it lived in the ocean. Perhaps a squid? Maybe a shark? Even though they had yet to reach the island, she still felt it was necessary to keep an eye out.

“How close are we to the island?” She would call out over the song of the surf and the sea to the two ninja currently on the commanding deck. “I’ve seen nothing so far.”

It was officially time. As the convorsation finished, Saya began to quite literally vibrate with excitement. It had been so long since she got the chance to take her boat out. While it was sad that she didn't get the change to show off the longship, it made sense. When one is chasing a giant sea creature, what better vessel then a galleon?

"Ladies and gentleman. May I present..... the SS eccentricity!!!" Any description of the vessel pales in comparison to actually seeing it. The ship was absolutely massive, which could be expected with travin at least having seen the craft, but somehow every inch of the wooden craft seemed to shimmer. Atop the main mast flew two flags. The first was a black background flag with, yes. you guessed it. A perfect sewn vissage of Saya's face. The second was the standard skull and crossbones, but with the entire flag having been dyed a vibrant lavender color. Heres the thing though. Saya had definitely said that she'd called her crew right? At the center of the deck, where you would expect there to be a group of people working quickly, was just a single girl. Both would recognize her most likely, though Travin would have a much stronger reccolection of the blonde haired konoichi turned seamstress who had once tried to kill them. She waved brightly as they approached.

The set up took a bit, with Saya yelling out orders while team puppet rushed off at high speed, but finally they were off and sailing towards the position Travin had told them. The small pupetteer checked in with travin, allowing him navigation, and after about an hour(give or take. our dear heroine isn't exactly great with time) They would be in the area, with the crew following Travin's lead.

Travin sat and watched as Saya’s puppets were the workforce for the ship. Part of him wondered why she didn’t hire people to work the ship and another part of him didn’t want to know why. Once they had made it into the area where most of the sitting has been happening Travin left his seat and went to stand by Kikuko. “If it’s real it should be coming at us any time now” he would tell Kikuko.

However, it would take a few more hours of simply sailing around the island before they saw any signs of danger. On the other side of the island that they came in on was a crashed ship still sinking into the waters. Travin pointed towards to get everyone’s attention and then remembered that it was just the three of them out here on this massive ship. With his Seigan active, Travin scanned the waters for any sign of a threat but found nothing till he looked directly below the ship. Coming straight up at them at an insane speed a massive chakra signature was coming right at them. “Saya hard to port” he would yell out over the sound of the water splashing against the ship.

Travin could make out a massive shell on the back of the monster but not much else. “It’s some kind of massively large turtle” he would yell out.

Feeling the rocking of the boat beneath her feet, the gentle shift and flow of the sea, Kikuko would finally begin to relax. Certainly the trip ahead of them was a potentially dangerous one, but until they were in truly treacherous waters she could let her hair down just a little. Humming a song under her breath, she would let her mind drift for a moment. A song of the riches hidden beneath the waves, the fish that lived there, and the guardians that slept in the deep. It was a song usually reserved for treasure hunters, rowdy and reckless- yet somehow it simmered within her at this moment.

This sudden, unexpected moment.

Left unprepared for such a sudden assault, Kikuko would grip ahold of the ship as the vessel would lurch, gaping openly as she would gaze upon the sheer enormity of the creature. This was bad, she instantly realized- with how fast it was, and how large it appeared to be, a battle staged solely upon the ship could be disastrous. They had confirmed the existence of the creature, but this would call for a change in strategy.

“Let’s create some distance between us!” She would call out to her two companions, steadying herself to the ship using the surface walking method. “This thing is way bigger than I thought. We’re going to need to find reinforcements for a creature like this.”

Whether her advice would be heeded or not, Kikuko would remain squarely upon the boat, holding on for dear life in case any more sudden rough currents would cause the situation to escalate further.

"Huh. Ain't that something. " It wasn't every day that you see a ship get destroyed right before your eyes. It's a miraculous and impressive--WE'RE ON A SHIP!!! THERE IS A SHIP DESTROYING SOMETHING OR THE OTHER AHEAD OF THEM AND SAYA'S GALLION IS SPECIFICALLY A SHIP!! This is fine. This is fine. This is fine. Saya rushed to action, sending Ai to the front of the ship as she turned the wheel hard. Her fingers shifted through broken hand seals as she tried her best to multi task, and then she felt a hand over hers. With a nod, yagami took control of the helm, sliding the small senju girl backwards as she realized what needed to happen to protect their prized posession. granted, Saya could always just make a new ship if something actually happened to her favorite pirate ship, and if she were being honest, using her mokuton as a means of creation instead of repair would end with the vessel being even larger and more grand, but it was her favorite. She was NOT a fan of losing her favorite things.

"Hold. Hold. Hold....." She didn't need to lock eyes with the Ai puppet. As always, they were in perfect sync. As Saya prepared the seals, releasing her trifle of the senju and regretting her decision not to draw sage mode nature chakra while they were sailing, Ai pinpointed the perfect position for their plan.

Tiger. Boar. Dog. Dragon. Bird. Rat.

"Whirling waters of wowness."

Bird. Dog. Tiger. Bird.

She brought one finger to her lips, and as she did, Ai mirrored the action. From the puppets lips poured a torrent of water, aimed at an angle to help the actions of the assassin turned seamstress. The ship literally spun three hundred and sixety degrees before slowing to a stop the exact opposite direction with the cancelation of Saya's powerful suiton technique. They were up to speed and moving at an incredible pace, heading back to the village safe and sound.

"That.... That wen't well I think?" The ride home would be pretty uneventful. How could it not?! They'd just almost had their boat destroyed and their lives lost.

Travin agreed with Kikuko that they would not be able to handle this thing alone. Especially on the water like this with no preparation. “Keep going” Travin would yell out as he jumped over bord landing on the water with the water surface walking jutsu. He ran out several meters away from the ship to be the distraction as Saya and Kikuko would work on getting the ship out of here. His Seigan active and his Seigan upswelling running Travin would dive into the water towards the massive creature. Finding its head Travin would look directly into its eye placing it under his Seigan genjutsu. While within the genjutsu Travin would mask both himself and the entire ship from the creature’s sensory capability while also creating another version of their ship heading off in the other direction.

Swimming back up to the surface to find the location of the ship he noted that they had managed to get it moving. After a few handseals, Travin vanished from within the water and appeared back on the deck of the ship drenched in water and breathing hard. “I don’t know what the hell that thing was, but we need to let the Mizukage know about it so he can get a team out here to deal with that thing.” He would say as he caught his breath and started to walk back up to the helm. “Double speed back to the village Saya” he would say as he passed the young women and sat down in his seat. Letting his head fall back and looking up at the sky. He would think about what kind of monster that was, and if was here what else is out there that they don’t know about.
