Flower Picking

Mission Link
Reality was clashing something awful for Ryō; he had had a rough few nights following a rough few weeks of getting readjusted to life in the village and beginning to scram to learn what had transpired in the village. But he felt like his first big breakthrough had come and felt a new energy, a new drive to get out and do something more for the village; he felt like tackling the woes of the village head-on... and yet he was stuck in one of the parks inside Konoha, plucking flowers for an arrangement being handled by one of the Yamanaka Clan
Ryō understood logically why he was still being assigned such missions and labors; he was still being evaluated as a returning shinobi for the village. There had been a long stretch of inactivity that called into question his fitness and dedication to the job. And since he was still merely a genin, and a fairly green one at that, Ryō found himself stuck with the lowest of low tasks; tasks that were so simple, if no genin could be bothered to be thrown at the issue, ordinary civilians could complete the job with virtually no difficulty and with no danger.
It didn't mean he had to like it, or that he had to accept it without complaint. Still, the simplicity of the task meant that Ryō was largely free to let his mind wander. He was reviewing some texts he had read the day before, working to alter his diet and achieve a greater degree of energy within the day. It was little mundane details like that that had proven some of the greatest impacts on his life as a shinobi. If he was to catch up to the rest of his generation, Ryō knew he was going to have to work incredibly hard to overcome the gap that had been created between them over the years.
While most of the current genin were far, far too young for Ryō to have any real association with, there was a handful close enough to his age to make associating with them at least tolerable. He began to ask them about various struggles they'd seen and what little tricks they had come up with over the years to make their lives easier. He had begun to keep a running list of various textbooks to look up or jutsu to practice. He was resolved to take these active steps, to be better than he was. That meant he had to accept that hard work was ahead of him, and that if he was going to take on the troubles of the village or master new techniques he had to be ready to put up with things that he didn't care for or felt especially excited for. That was a shinobi's life.
Still, Ryō allowed himself to indulge a little as he plucked another flower and set it aside to be taken away, just like the hundreds of others he had already picked that day. He would not miss these sorts of jobs whatsoever.

Approved, remember that the element must be named by the time you finish training.
