Misha's Surgery Topic (Solo)

Once upon a time, Misha got dental surgery at like, 9 am, and when she woke back up for the 2nd or 3rd time around 3:30 PM, she decided to write a training thread.

Lachesis, obviously, had no idea what this was supposed to mean, but with the recent repairs of her favored weapon- Sleeping Crane- practicing various moves and lunges seemed like an efficient use of time, especially considering that the weapon was weighted differently than anything she could produce with her Ice Release, regardless. The Onomori made her way to the training grounds, scanning her way in (though did it really matter, anyway? There was nobody there to man the desk).

Her arena of choice, located towards the back, was approached slowly and deliberately. The leftover water had mostly evaporated or otherwise made its way down the drain. A strong scent of mildew remained identical from last time, which was unpleasant but not immediately threatening. After a few moments of surveillance, she whistled sharply, letting a shadow clone manifest at her right side. The weapon in her hand was identical to Sleeping Crane- but after a few seconds she let it disperse and summoned a Weapon of Ice with a burst of frigid chakra.

She wanted to practice with different styles of weapon anyway, and given that the Weapons of Ice technique allowed her to make anything within a certain size, it seemed like a logical solution.

The clone weighed the weapon- a massive axe this time- before lunging at speeds that would dizzy most chuunin.

Lachesis sidestepped, turning the lunge into a vicious swipe at the clone’s hip. Close range was more effective against an axe of that size, so Sleeping Crane would be more useful as a katana at the moment. A clang of metal and ice rang throughout the room as her blade met the hilt of the glacial weapon.

Both weapons locked, the next logical solution was to attempt to attack her opponent’s leg directly. She gave a vicious kick to the shins, pushing her advantage as she did so, only to get a glancing punch to the ear that made her vision flash in and out of focus. Damn.

She drove the pommel of Sleeping Crane up into her clone’s ribcage, and as the shadow clone dispersed with a pop, she found herself wondering what she could have done differently. Maybe an opponent of a different size…?

After washing off some dirt and grime in a nearby water fountain she appropriated, Lachesis returned to the mildew scented room with a barely masked grimace. Yup, still stank.

She whistled for a shadow clone once more, but this time, she took time to inspect the still creation once more. They wordlessly exchanged a conversation with a series of meaningful glances, and the clone transformed into someone much smaller- roughly eight inches shorter with little musculature to speak of. Good- many people she expected to fight would be considerably shorter than her. The creation formed another weapon- a short sword, this time- and lunged at her with a ferocity unique to her.

Lachesis, in response, grabbed the hilt of Sleeping Crane and made a wild slash, letting the weapon telescope out into what would have been the clone’s hip had she allowed it to connect. Range was more important here; if the clone got close, she could overwhelm her with strength alone, most likely, but the tanto was nasty.

She caught a desparate swipe with the hilt of her naginata form weapon, thrusting it forwards and throwing the clone off balance.

It retaliated by stomping on the ground, nearly impaling her shin with an ice spear that manifested from the soaked floor. Damn- fighting dirty. This was intended to be a weapons only spar, but real life opponents wouldn’t give her that luxury, would they? She twisted the weapon viciously, bringing the butt of the naginata to slam her clone on the outer thigh.

She hissed in pain, but evidently the blow was not enough to dispel the shadow clone. It came at her with a vicious swing from underneath, and after rolling out of the way as fast as she could, she jabbed it with the naginata, dispelling it once and for all and letting the Weapon of Ice drop to the floor.

She breathed heavily. Cold mist slowly filtered into the room as the weapon began to sublimate into regular air. Inhale... Exhale. Fuck.

She had a long way to go before she’d ever be able to keep up with anyone. First and foremost, however, she’d need to learn her own body in and out. She wasn’t a medical expert in any sort of way, but…

It made sense that someone else in the village was. Words have trickled down about the deputy potentially knowing that kinda thing.

No reason not to ask about him later.
