Snacks & Literature
Tue Dec 21, 2021 5:08 am
The tubby Akimichi found himself in the depths of the Thunder Peak Campus. His head engrossed in the assortment of literature that the establishment offered. There were a lot of fictional and non-fictional stories for the young man to read and having taken a small break from active duty following a successful Chunnin Exam – the young man decided to eat well and read books. Naturally, the eating and sitting resulted in the Akimichi naturally gaining weight by way of his Kekkei Genkai. He still lacked a way being able to control his bodies calorie manipulation but perhaps that was something he’d think about going into the new year.
Rolling his shoulder, he sat up in his seat- the silence inside of the library was deafening and it made the young man quite uneasy. Tensing his left bicep, the sensation of the deformed scar and muscle tissue pierced his body; the constant reminder of the Hoshigakure Genin who scarred him for life. Flashing a toothy grin – he relaxed, his hand effortlessly fishing out a handful of high calorie chips while his free hand flicked through the pages of his latest novel. “I wonder if I could write something like this.” He thought to himself as the prospect of writing an eccentric story began to dwell on him.
“The Story of Gun Kai.” He chanted, clenching his left hand into a fist out of sheer excitement for the prospect of writing a more mainstream novel. Up to now, he had written a lot of fictional stories – publishers wouldn’t touch them with twenty feet poles but in light of the Akimichis recent success at the Chunnin Exams, he has received a dozen requests for publishing rights. Naturally, Gin wised up to their strategy and simply burned his previous manuscripts. It was time for a new step – one in a fresh direction – a step that would either seal his story of his life or death.

It was nearing on evening when the Akimichi decided to finally take a break from the campus. Scoffing down his last bag of chips, he waddled out of the establishment before making his way down to the local hot pot place! It wasn’t local to the Campus, more local to Gins area. He knew that his mother was preparing the assortments of foods for Christmas and so as to now disturb her process he figured it’d be best for him to eat out.
Smiling throughout he put one foot in front of the other, making his way through the city in quite a comical fashion. Finally arriving at the restaurant he flashed the door man a palm, slapping it up with him before making his way inside. In lieu of Gins Chuunin Exam victory, he was given a 50% discount coupon at the establishment. It first started off as an all you can eat for a full year but the owners quickly realised that they handed the privilege to the wrong villager – revoking it down to all you can eat for a year on Fridays only before eventually lowering it to 80% off and finally converting the coupon into a 50% off.
He couldn’t blame them as he was aware of his hearty appetite. In turn he created an expense account with them – paying his 50% at regular intervals. They never pressured him to pay on time but he did so out of courtesy. He enjoyed eating at this establishment and was almost a part of the furniture at this point --- if the furniture was comprised of massive, oversized pork belly Akimichis. The instant he entered, he was directed to his own back room table where he tucked into the delights.
Before long, he was full and on his way home.
