A birth of a new Shinobi

Hearing her name being called by the proctor, Wynne would emerge from the line of students and enter the designated room. Today was the day she had been waiting for, the day she had been training for weeks now. If everything went well, this would be the last day she would remain an academy student. She had studied hard, listened to her teacher, done extra credit, and did everything she needed to do in order to succeed. And now it was time to see if it was worth it. Taking in a deep breath and preparing herself mentally, she opened the door and stepped inside. It was time to show the proctor what she was capable of.

Giving the proctor a nod in return to his smile, Wynne would calmly listen to his words before taking a moment to collect her thoughts. All she had to do was show him two basic shinobi skills and then she could collect her headband and move on with her life. No big deal. She knew the techniques, she trained them. And while they weren’t perfect, they were as close as she could get them at the current moment. Wriggling her fingers and stretching them, Wynne fluttered her eyelashes before debating on which technique to start with first. Probably the easiest one right? Just to get it out of the way? The question was, which one did she consider herself to have mastered the best?

Both the transformation and the clone technique required the use of one handseal, so she couldn’t use that for comparison. And both of them used the same amount of chakra since they were both E rank. Normally Wynne would use whichever one required less, but since they used the same amount, she couldn’t really do that. But if she had to decide in a timely manner, it would have to be transformation, just because of the versatility of the technique. Naturally if she chose something hard to replicate, it would be harder to use than the Clone technique. But if she chose something easy to copy, then it would be easier. It was a simple comparison. Now she had to decide just what to transform into.

Should she try something complex to impress her instructor, with the risk of failing? Or something she knew would work, with the risk of being average? Both had pros and cons and there was no way to tell which method was best. Although she had used this technique a decent bit, Wynne hadn’t tried anything crazy, so she wasn’t sure if she wanted to do anything crazy, like an octopus that constantly changed colors or something of a similar vein. Plus while such a creature would look cool, would there be any real point in doing such a thing? Out on the field, such a transformation would just be foolish to have. Either way, she was procrastinating and she had made her proctor wait long enough. It was time to show off her transformation skills!

Bringing her hands together in the Dog handseal, Wynne began to direct her chakra throughout her body in the right manner. Her goal was to disguise her as a training dummy that she had seen quite frequently in the training fields that her academy teacher had brought part of her class too. Due to training there almost everyday, the image of the dummy was ingrained into her skill, and thus almost every detail of the wooden mannequin was easy to visualize. Which made this technique easier to perform. As the disguise layered itself over her body, Wynne’s form would now resemble something of a wooden puppet, with a brown wooden body. Her face would now be smooth and have no visible faceless features while her joints would resemble a dolls. Her form would be uncanny to look at and she would fit right in on the training field that she had been at merely a week ago.

Once the technique was done, she would keep it up for a few minutes and would only release it until the proctor was satisfied. After this was the case, she would move on to the final technique, the Clone jutsu. Performing the Ram handseal and sending chakra towards her hand, Wynne would create two identical clones next to her. While technically she could create an additional clone, she didn’t want to risk messing up in this case, so she decided to be on the safe side and make one less than normal. It wouldn’t do to fail so far along in the exam, and she also made one more clone than normal, so the proctor should be satisfied with that.

Directing her clones to move about, Wynne would show that they resembled her in every way, with no physical deformities. The only way someone would know something was wrong was if they were attacked, and thus revealed to actually be intangible. And with that, the two techniques were done. Now it was time to await the proctor's judgment.
