Link to Legacy Mission:-
Yusuke had been hard at work on his sealing techniques. He wanted to master something on his own and after a couple of classes he had done it. He had finally been registered as a fuinjutsu user. He could remember his classes like it was yesterday...
- flash back...:
Don’t want to be a one trick pony… Yusuke was reaching the end of what he thought he could achieve with earth and fire release. His skills in ash release were coming along, but he still had a while to go before he’d call himself a master. He thought he could use another shinobi skill to work on while he was training his ash release. He had read a bulletin about Fuinjutsu. There was an early morning class for shinobi of all levels interested in learning. Yusuke Himself decided that he would take a chance on the class. This could be the new skill I’m looking for! With a bit of excitement to his step he rushed over to the academy to try his hand at Fuinjutsu.
After arriving in the classroom he noticed he was pretty early. Must have been too quick… He looked at the clock on the academy wall noting it was a quarter until 7:00. He decided to open the sliding door regardless and step into the room. The only person in the class was an older woman of short stature. Hello there sonny boy! The Lady walked over and reached upward, pinching Yusuke's cheek and pulling on it. Are you here to learn about the sealing arts from old lady Hana? She asked, keeping a tight hold on the boy's cheek. She smiled brightly without any teeth, and eventually let go of Yusuke much to his relief.
Ahaha. You’re the teacher granny? I am here for the lesson, yes. Yusuke didn’t know what to think of the lady. She wore a shawl wrapped around her body and moved with a cane. She was half of Yusuke’s height at best, and she had thick glasses. Yusuke could notice that she was extremely wobble even with the cane.
Is this really going to be okay? Yusuke sat down in the front row with some slight trepidation.
The class had gone well and he now knew all the basics to accomplish the mission he had been assigned. It was a simple job for a wealthy noble in the residential area of the village, the Fugaru family. They were a bit of a paranoid bunch, and had thier house surrounded in a sealing formation that would protect them from intruders.
Guess they weren't so paranoid after all... Yusuke walked through the streets on Sunagakure holding the mission file. It said that the families formation had been breeched, and their first concern was over getting it repaired. Suna was a little short on Shinobi with sealing expertise so they sent Yusuke to handle it. Since he was the MVP of a mission that would undoubtedly require a high amount of focus and brain power he was in need of escorts to make sure nothing befell him while he worked on the formation. There would be at least two other Shinobi meeting him at the site. Yusuke was pretty sure he wasn't going to be in much danger being inside the walls of Suna, but the company wasn't unwelcomed.
This should be pretty chill... He sauntered up to the mansion and waited about ten meters from the gate surrounding the extremely large dwelling. Guess this is as good a spot as any... Yusuke was a uncharacteristically nervous considering the fact that people would be depending on a skill he'd only recently acquired, but he had studied the formation all last night. He felt he could do it, but would his cram session really be enough. He let out a sigh as he waited for the others to arrive. He was about 15 minutes early so they had plenty of time to show up.

As Guren sat within his office, he recalled that a new assignment had recently been undertaken by Yusuke Sarutobi. This was the same genin he had recently transplanted a Jugo organ within, and so he was particularly curious with how his development had been going so far. Though the Kazekage had quite a bit of work on his place at the moment, he figured he would play hooky and spectate Yusuke during this mission. From the report of the undertaken missions today, the one that Yusuke had been assigned to was nothing too difficult. But still, the berserker bloodline that was boiling within the genin could cause a rage at any moment. And if one were to happen, Guren should be there.
Focusing on Yusuke's chakra signature, Guren would discern his location: approaching the Fugaru Manor. It was near a tucked away corner within Sunagakure, beyond the Grove and adjacent to the Training Grounds. They had built an estate near a location that would attract little to no traffic, yet was as close as possible to capable shinobi should they need to call upon them. Paranoia at its fullest. Recognizing where the genin was, Guren would form a series of handseals and raise his hand to his forehead.
*Knock, knock, knock*
Right as Guren was about to depart there was a knock at his door. Likely another pile of paperwork being dropped off to him, or a last minute request to handle some laborious task. In either case, these things could wait. Besides, his workload never seemed to diminish despite the amount of hours he put in. It would only grow. And so before the guest could open the door to his office, Guren would teleport out from the spire and 5 meters in front of Yusuke. The boy was standing in front of the gate to the manor, so this would place Guren equidistant from the genin and the gate. With a smile upon his face, Guren would call out to the Sarutobi as he moved his hand from his forehead to the side and in a waving motion. "Yusuke, good to see you. The mission assignment says that Kota and Kaito both undertook this mission too, any clue where they are?"
As Guren spoke, he'd monitor the chakra signature of Yusuke. It had seemed tainted from what Guren originally detected, just as he had expected. Yet still, no signs of being overridden. Good.

It was another day as far as Kota was concerned. The recent death of his mom due to debilitating disease filled him to the brim with depression. Unfortunately sadness did not pay the bills. His dad was developing a drinking habit and Kota needed to work harder. Kota moved his sluggish body and got ready quickly. He put on his armor, grabbed his bow and quiver, and was out of the house in less than fifteen minutes. His first destination was the job boards to nab himself some work.
He picked a mission to guard a rich person's sealing formation. To him it was really more of an assisting thing. He did not know how to repair seals but helping and guarding people was an easy enough task for himself. Kota ran to the designated area not wanting to be late. He did not even break a sweat running at full speed. It was actually a bit comfy for his body and he felt more liberated than usual. The sunlight that kissed his face provided him with some much needed warmth that was missing in his life. He made it to the mission location in record time.
Being the third one there gave Kato some time to seize up the other two people present. They were people he could not recall ever seeing before. One of them looked vaguely familiar. As if they had met in a dream once. Upon a closer look and sensing the chakra present. Kota recognized him as one of the most important Jounin in the village. The archer was unable to recognize the man as the current Kage. In his depressive haze he had shut out all outside information. He even took a sabbatical to recuperate. If it was not for the fact that he needed ryo he would have not continued on his ninja way. Kota could be called one of the few unable to recognize the new Kage as simply that.
The other chakra signature looked like it belonged to a man about similar in age. Kota had no way of telling for certain. Nor did he want to try. Ever since he met and learned about Mizu and her clan. He figured it would not be wise to judge people based on age. He really hampered his dating prospects at times even more. He could not tell if the dude would be seven or ninety seven.
“Hello. Glad I was able to make it. I am Kota Apollon. Reporting for duty.” Kota made sure to give his best in terms of non threatening and golden smiles. First impressions were always important.

Kaito made a point of running through the streets of Sunagakure at almost his top speed. he was excited. Very excited. Just a few moments prior he had been assigned to the B-Rank mission with Yusuke, the Lord Kazekage, and a name he thought he may never hear again; Kota Apollon. Kaito remembered sitting in on a patrol training class with him and a kunoichi whom he could not remember her name. That had been months before, back when Kaito had first graduated from the ninja academy, and the patrol mission the three of them had initially been assigned ended up being canceled due to a sudden lack of manpower.
Kaito was glad to see that Kota, however, was back, as it was an opportunity to show the fellow Genin how far he had come from their previous encounter.
'Time to show them all what I'm capable of, even if Lord Kazekage and Yusuke are aware of some of my power, it doesn't mean that they are aware of all of it...'
Kaito could see the training grounds now not too far off in the distance.
"Nearly there! Nearly the- Oof!"
Without realizing it, Kaito had run into someone. The force of the impact was enough to knock both himself and the other person off of their feet and they both hit the ground with loud thuds. It didn't take long though for the Inuzuka to regain his composure and stand himself back to his feet. Looking down at the ground, however, he could see the other person laying upon their back. They wore a white sweatshirt that covered their entire upper torso and arms, baggy brown pants, black boots, and black gloves. To complete the look, the person also wore a turban of bandages similar to Kaito's own, but these bandages covered every bit of the person's face except for their eyes.
Kaito didn't bother with taking a mental note of the person's attire, however, what mattered now was helping the person back up to their feet and Kaito apologizing for paying better attention to his surroundings.
"I am so terribly sorry for running into you!" He exclaimed, bending over the person and outstretching his arm. "Here, take my hand and I'll help you up." The person, who seemed slightly dazed and confused, shook their head from side to side as though to shake out the pain of the impact. As they did, however, their eyes locked with Kaito's for a moment. Kaito could see the person's eyes widen before the person stumbled backwards to their feet quickly. In their hands they held an upsidedown satchel; the contents spilling out upon the ground everywhere. Kaito noticed this. "You're dropping your things. At least let me help you-" As Kaito began to outstretch his arm, the person finally spoke.
"Don't you touch those, you mongrel!" They shouted, basically throwing themselves over the items to stop Kaito from helping to pick them up. The Inuzuka couldn't help but be confused.
This person... Why were they so frantic and skittish?
As Kaito righted himself back up from his crouched position, he could see many of the items glistening in the sun and reflecting a rainbow-esque light into his eyes. Taking as close a look as he could, Kaito could see that they were rubies and diamonds. He didn't head this anymind, however. As it was such expensive pieces, he could understand why the person would be hesitant to allow anybody else to touch them.
"My apologies. I guess I'll be on my way then."
Kaito nodded a goodbye and continued walking down the street. He kept finding himself looking back at the person he had knocked over, and by the time Kaito was halfway down the road the other person had collected all of the items from the ground, put the satchel on their back, and ducked into a nearby alleyway. Kaito was left confused and with more questions than answers, but he wouldn't let it bother him. Now was the time to focus on the mission at hand and meet up with the others as to not keep them waiting.
Sure enough, as Kaito rounded the corner of the street, he could see Yusuke, Guren, and Kota all waiting for him. Kota was just introducing himself to the others, so he too must've just arrived. Kaito smiled, hoping that the two of them would get to know each other better during their time together on this mission, and walked up to stand to the group.
"Inuzuka, Kaito reporting in. Sorry if I kept you all waiting." The Inuzuka would make a point of bowing to Guren. "It's a pleasure to work with you again, Lord Kazekage. And long time no see, Kota. How you been?."

Lord Kazekage! Yusuke Knelt. Guarded by the Kazekage himself... A bit much...isn't it... It didn't seem that guren was here for any other reason so once Yusuke felt it was fine he stood back up. I only know one of those name, but I'm sure they won't be long. Yusuke wanted to talk to Guren about what he'd been through, about the progress of the experiment. Yusuke would consider it a success, but he had it written up in the form a formal report...almost. He had kept his notes in a journal and was still formulating it into a report format. Hard to find time to write when you're training and constantly on missions. Lord Kazekage ther is something I want to- He was cut off by the arrival of a new face. The boy introduced himself as Kota Applton or something like that. His last name was a bit difficult for the young Sarutobi to catch. Regardless he was decent looking fellow with a somewhat composed air about him.
Yusuke Sarutobi, I'll be the Fuin expert on this mission nice to meet you Kota. Keep me safe~ Yusuke waved and gave a wink as Kaito arrived. The boy acknowledged everyone but Yusuke. He made a defeated half frowning face with his mouth streached to both ends of his face. Not even going to mention me huh? Kaito-ni... I'm wounded~ Yusuke placed a hand over his heart and collapsed backwards as if he had been struck.
Without giving Kaito enough space to recover he would continue returning to a neutral expression one with a slight smirk. Well if everyone is here all you have to do is watch me at work and make sure no one sneaks up and kills me. I'll be honest I haven't worked on such a large seal before so it might take me a bit longer than a master, but I'm all you got. He glanced over to Lord Guren not sure if he was actually the only sealing expert since the Kazekage's presence wasn't mentioned anywhere in his briefing, but if Guren didn't stop him he would continue.
I've been looking over the array all night so it will go smoothly once we locate the breach. I suggest starting the search at the entrances. Anyone opposed to walking around back and helping in the search ? I was told I'd be in charge, and I practiced my speech, but I will defer to the highest ranking officer here if it is requested. Yusuke gave Guren a bow. The Yusuke from when the kazekage and guren were alone together was gone and before him now was Yusuke's standard act one he intended to keep up in front of those below the ranks that required the utmost respect. He hoped Guren didn't mind it too much, but since he'd seen Yusuke at his most serious in the form of his clone and on the operation table he was less worried about leaving a bad impression.
The back of the house had a lavish garden. The Fugaru mansion had taken to the groves appearance and funded a personal production, all be it at a much smaller scale, in their own backyard. I was complete with high hedges, lush trees, bountiful flowers, and a well furnished patio. Clear evidence of the broken sealing array could be seen along the perimeter of the hedges though it would all look intact from the front. The give away to those who knew of this seal was the lettering used was plainly visible to the naked eye. This meant the chakra running through it and powering the protective circle was not fully connected. This lettering would be invisible to anyone without chakra vision once the seal was complete again.
If Guren didn't change the plans Yusuke would lead on following this lettering until he came to a point where it stopped. This was the spot that Yusuke would know the circle connected into another circle filled with a complex inscription for chakra storage. Whoever broke this knew exactly how to do it. Yusuke would think once he saw it. I can replace this but it will take me at least half an hour...Keep yourselves busy until I'm done~ With that Yusuke would reach into his pouches pulling out a few scrolls and placing them around the seal. Some would aid in his job of completing by transferring some of the very long inscription on to the proper place, but most of it was simple notes for himself. Alright here goes nothing...

With Yusuke's bow of respect, Guren softly smiled to himself. He wasn't one of formalities but it was refreshing to see people holding him in high regard. After their last encounter, Guren was unsure of how Yusuke had perceived him. The kage had been somewhat reprimanding of his demeanor, not to scold him but instead to educate him. But it was good to see that the Sarutobi was still in one piece. But managing the Berserker bloodline would be relatively easily when expending idle amounts of chakra. That's what particularly interested Guren: seeing how the experiment resulted, and how Yusuke handled his chakra control when actually expending energy. The Kazekage nodded in sync with Yusuke's bow but right as he began to respond to Guren's initial question, the pair were interuppted.
Interestingly enough as Guren had questioned Yusuke about the rest of the team, Kota and Kaito would both show up right after another. As Kota arrived, Guren looked him over before greeting him. It had been quite some time since the Chinoike had seen the genin, with the last time actually being in a relatively intense situation. This had been some time ago though, and a lot had happened in between then and now. Guren was the new Kazekage, and had gone on to take on all of the affairs that came with it. He wondered what Kota's progression had been and how he had developed his skills with his bow. "Kota, good to see you again. A lot has changed since we last met. I'd like to catch up with you if time allows."
And finally, the drunk: Kaito. He had put away enough sake to open up a bar, alongside Guren and Seb. Ironically Guren couldn't help but smile when seeing the Inuzuka. Perhaps it was his immaturity, and he felt like a kid somewhat snickering to himself thinking of Kaito at his worst. Or it could have just been a sense of camaraderie and leadership that warmed his heart. For it did feel good to have unique bonds with each of the shinobi before him, and to see them in action. Though, today may have been more so monitoring their thought processes. "Kaito, you been laying off the bottle?" Guren would ask while maintaining a serious expression and tone of voice. Deep down he wanted to laugh, but it wasn't appropriate as Kazekage.
In any case, Yusuke would take on the mantle of leadership with this mission. And it was completely fine to Guren, as he had no intention of spearheading the mission. He wanted to sit back and watch the genin, genin. Besides he was no fuinjutsu expert, he had Seb, Suika, and Lilith for that. Potentially he would be adding a fourth to that list, depending on how Yusuke's performance today would pan out. Out of respect, Yusuke offered Guren the leadership role in this mission. Immediately Guren's left hand would raise, with his head shaking "no". "Today is about you all, not me. No one will attack the three of you. And if they do, we'll pray for them after they are crushed." Guren would say with joy in his eyes. The thought of protecting his genin was compelling, and made him feel like he served his purpose. "But go ahead, Yusuke, Kaito, Kota; show me what you all are made of." With that, Guren would smoothly tuck his hands into the pockets of his yukata and relax his posture.
When Yusuke would lead, he would follow. Reflecting on the Sarutobi's words, Guren was impressed by how serious Yusuke would be taking this one. He even said that he practiced his speech. It was pleasing to know that since the two last had spoke there were signs of his maturity blossoming. And his perception seemed to match, as shortly after leading his patrol to the hedges Yusuke was able to discern the source of the broken seal. Guren walked over to it, observed the seal visually, then looked over to each of the genin. How they reacted would be important. Yusuke immediately hopped on the job, instructing his team to keep themselves busy. As a leader, Guren hoped to see Yusuke be more vocal of what exactly he needed them to do. But simultaneously, he understood that a mission this simple really didn't require much work. The rest of the team were simply look outs and protection. With a quick spin of the rings upon his fingers, Guren would weave a few seals with his off hand and spawn an identical clone adjacent to him. The clone would remain in place, guarding Yusuke should he need it, and Guren would turn his back to the group. "I'm off to inspect the rest of the perimeter. My clone here will watch your backs."
As the Kazekage proceeded to inspect the rest of the estate, he'd have his clone stay behind and watch Yusuke. Surface level, it was to aid the team should they need help. But realistically no one was attacking this estate today, not with a group of genin and the Kazekage. And so Guren's clone would keep a watchful eye over Yusuke, monitoring his chakra reserves and any sudden influx of nature energy exerted.

Kota was glad to be able to place a face. When Guren acknowledged him he was able to place where he had met the ninja before. Kota was glad that they both managed to survive. Good times. He wanted to talk and catch up but did not get the chance to. Shortly after Kota’s own arrival the last member had shown up. It was another familiar face that he could place. It had been some time but even Kota could tell how much the Inuzuka had grown.
“Good to see you too.” When the young man said a greeting to the Kazekage, Kota was a bit confused. Kota did not even know the Kazekage had changed. He looked at the other two people and tried to figure out which one was the Kazekage. He had met Guren before and just remembered him as a Jounin. The previous Kazekage looked young, so when Kota saw the other guy. He did not think it strange that he looked young. In fact Kota thought it was a testament to the man's power to hide his skill so well. When the other man bowed to Guren and proclaimed him the Kazekage. That took him by surprise. He kept the shock and disbelief off his face. Guren was the new man in charge. He felt happy for the guy but could not help but wonder. What had happened to Mizu? As if reading his mind Guren spoke to him. Talking about how things have changed and how they should catch up. If Kota was not sure that Guren was into chicks he would have believed he was getting picked up. “I’ll say. Mr.Kazekage. Congratulations on the promotion.” Kota gave the man a slight bow. It was the most he would give. Kota would only bow to his future husband and his parents.
Kota’s body shook and he cleared his mind. He wanted to get his head back into the game for the sake of the mission. “Yep. I am more than happy to help guard you. I may not be the best but I can get the job done.” Kota was starting to feel better about being out and about. Work could help one clear the body and move on with life. The mission was to guard Yusuke but Kota was finding himself curious about the man as well.
“I am ready to get started at any point. We could even chat and get to know each other. Like finding it a pleasure to meet you Yusuke. You could also fill me in with what the Kage meant by drinking. Don’t tell me you have an alcohol problem.” Kota said it in a slightly concerned voice. Too many ninja die from effects of the bottle compared to any jutsu. Kota was not one that wanted to see the good die young. Even now looking closely Kota could see that Kaito looked a bit off. When Kota had met him the man had a certain air of freshness and optimism. Now Kota could only describe the feeling he got when he looked at Kaito, it was like finding dog poop in your shoe. Disappointing and messy.
Thinking about it, Kota discovered that he had a lot of catching up to do. Time did not stand still due to his previous depression. The village had rapidly changed and things were much more different than he had expected. Kota could see Guren as the first one to leave. He did not check to see if the new Kazekage really left. This was his village; it was above his pay grade to look into it anyway. Kota understood that when Guren wanted to talk to him. They would simply talk.

Kaito couldn't help but laugh at the way the Kazekage had chosen to greet him. It had only been a few weeks at most that the two of them, along with another village higher-up named Sebastian, had come together in the Eastertide Fairgrounds. The three of them entered into a drinking competition, which they won, and from there the Inuzuka allowed the recreational drinking to overcome him.
Come the next morning, however, when he had woken up upon the roof he had fallen asleep on before being miraculously transported to that fairytale land, Kaito was a mess from the hangover. At that moment he swore to himself that he would never touch a sip of alcohol ever again.
"Of course I have, My Lord." He would reply, rubbing the back of his neck as he chuckled with a hint of embarrassment. "The only drink bottles I touch now hold water and tea." Kaito would then turn his attention to Yusuke, who playfully showed a hint of disdain for Kaito not saying hello to him initially. "How could I forget you, Yusuke?" He said with a laugh before nudging his friend with his elbow playfully. Kota would then ask the Inuzuka if he had turned to drinking. "Ah, it was just a one time thing. No more of that crap for me."
With all of the formalities out of the way, everyone seemed ready to get things started. Kaito was no different, and he would keep a diligent eye on things as Yusuke got started with fixing the barrier. The Kazekage would create a clone of himself before heading off to do some scouting around the area. Not knowing too much about Fuinjutsu, all Kaito would do was sit around and watch as his friend examined the complex seals. As the Sarutobi worked, a high burley man shot through the front door of the home they were safeguarding.
"Someone stole my jewels!" He would say before dramatically collapsing to the ground and having an extremely childish fit of anger and sadness. Concerned, Kaito would walk as closely to the man as he could get without disturbing the intricate formulas that Yusuke was making.
"Your what, Sir?" He asked calmly.
"My jewels!" The man uprighted himself, sloppily and seemingly uncharacteristically whipping tears and snot upon the sleeve of his fancy overcoat. "My rubies and emeralds... All gone!"
Kaito pondered for a moment before it struck him.
'I knew something was odd about that guy...'
The person who Kaito had accidentally ran into on his way here had been carrying a bag full of rubies and emeralds and other delicate and beautiful gems in a satchel. They had also been covered head to toe in black garbs.
The Inuzuka would swear to himself, clenching his fists as a bit of anger overcame him. He would turn to Kota and the Kazekage's clone.
"As odd as it sounds, I'm almost certain that I saw the person who stole the client's gems..." He would point north, in the general direction he had last encountered the scummy thief. "Kota, I don't think we have much of a chance, but if you and I split up, we may just be able to capture that son of a bitch. Lord Kazekage, would you please allow Kota and I to go after the person, should Kota want to join me, that is?"

Yusuke was busy handling the sealing formula while Guren had created a clone to standby and watch while he patrolled the perimeter. Rewriting the formula wasn't a big task for him. He had really spend lots of time studying it after all. His notes covered most of what needed to be written. The trouble came with the next part. He needed to fill the seal with chakra. He had plenty of it, but he was somewhat worried about the amount he would have to use. The nature chakra could comeback to get him at any point. Relax Yu, we trained with Enryu there's no way that we'd would lose control now. He calmed himself and placed his hands on formula. After a deep breath, his chakra flooded the seal. As his own energy left him, the seal's lettering would light up showing the progress towards completion. Minutes would pass, and at about the half way mark. Yusuke could feel the nature chakra overwhelming his system. Those with chakra sensory could also tell something was happening to him. Alright here it comes....aaannddd....RELEASE! Just like that the foreign energy had left his body, and he was able to return to the task unabated. If was in a fight or losing a much more significant amount of his chakra it might have been more difficult, but this normal everyday usage of chakra had been what he and Enryu had been working to control. Mastering the power of nature chakra had made it easier, but he was a definitely nervous with Guren watching him.
At about this point, the burly man had exited the house, and was shouting about jewels. Yusuke retained his concentration trusting the others to deal with the new entity. Kaito seemed to have stepped up to prevent the man from disturbing him. Yusuke smiled it was good because him losing concentration would not be ideal. The formula had to be completed in one go. If he stopped he'd need to start over. He'd rather not try his luck with losing even more chakra. He listened as Kaito and the man conversed, but only half way. His attention was focused mostly on the seal until it was complete. Once it was the sealing formula disappeared from the ground and all seemed well.
Phew all done... he would sit back as the boys had asked for permission to leave. I would love to join you all, but I'd like to look over the formula just once and make sure that it's all good. I'll report the mission a success afterwards and alert the mission desk to the pursuit of the thief if you all want to go after them. I'll fine here on my own. He reassured them that he was all good and would keep hq apprised of the situation. If there were no objections he would take a lap around the building and then bound off towards the mission counter to tell them that the seal had been reset.
