Make The Medicine Go Down(Mission)

Getting The Good Stuff Mission
While traveling the borders leading to Konoha it brought back a certain sense of nostalgia, each step brought him back to a time before all of this. While walking through the borders he could see his old self walking the trails as well, a time where things were much simpler, everything was new and made no sense to him. He had just escaped from an old perish and so many dark things that took a hold of his life. Hikirishi, everything in front of him seemed to be lapsed over with that of the past. Blocking out the memories everything returned to normal and their walk continued down the dirt road to Konoha. As they continued he couldn't help but notice a group of what seemed to be a rag tag group of ninja hiding by the way side behind the tree line. Nudging Maku slightly he'd point towards the group that hadn't noticed them yet. They didn't seem to be very good at their job and also hadn't noticed them either, it seemed that they couldn't really sense anyone around them either. Walking over to them from the dirt path he'd nudge one of them in the back forcing the young male to fall forward into the others all bunched up together.
With his rasped voice Youka would speak out in as few words as possible from underneath his hood to ensure no one could see his true identity."What is-" Before he could get it out one of the young ninja raised a kunai to strike down at Youka with a decently fast speed. For the briefest of moments Youka allowed his bloodlust and power surge outwards latching onto the man. Just like that the male fell down paralyzed. Clearing his throat once more under the hood he'd attempt to speak again."What is it that ..you all are doing?" The scared ninja took time and explained their plan in great detail for fear of what would happen to them, and as they were explaining it the other ninja finally regained control of his body trying to attack Youka again. Not even turning to acknowledge the man he'd allow Maku to handle it as he saw fit. After the deed was done Youka spoke once more to the group,"You all won't do a thing, we'll take care of-" He'd spoken too much they didn't need to even be a part of the equation anymore they had told him what he was looking for and where it would be. There were only 8 of them, Youka's threads ripped through his skin wrapping around each one of the ninjas heads preventing any sound from being made. Soon it was silent as the threads wrapped and squeezed each head till there was an audible pop from each head besides one. That way the survivor could report a job complete and everyone else simply fell in battle. Letting the last body drop from the threads passed out from the loss of air he'd turn to Maku to explain what needed to be done.
"Caravan coming, potential protectors, need to find a vial of poison...they said it might be hidden among other things...I'll find that myself since I have the medical background." If Maku said anything about the bodies he'd look in the general direction of the dropped now headless bodies."We only need one". Just as he finished speaking around the corner cam a caravan convoy with 4 caravans going back to back with each other being pulled by horse. By each caravan were four guards for a total of 16 that Youka could count from the tree line, standing up no longer attempting to hide his presence he would step into the middle of the road stopping the caravans progress in its tracks. "I'll take the back two." He didn't wait for a response as he began walking towards the stopped group in front of him. The guards were yelling obscenities telling him to stop and move back but he kept slowly walking forward. He could have destroyed everything here but today he had to be delicate and each attack had to be guided to ensure as little collateral damage to the caravans happened.
It seemed the ones guarding the caravan were hired swordsman no ninja as far as he could see, no one was forming chakra or attempting hand signs at the moment just each of the sixteen men hand on hilt or had already drawn their weapon. Each one of them had moved forward of their caravans to now be by the front one forming almost a horizontal line across the road three people deep each for five rows of them and one was at the front of the group his sword drawn and chakra covering it. A low audible grumble escaped his lips as he noted the rough chakra forming around it, either this person was the leader or he was ju-. As he was about to finish his thought he could sense chakra growing and forming around each of the swords from the swordsmen. This situation had just escalated slightly and it irritated him with the likelihood that now also some of these men might know jutsu as well which would be very unfortunate. His threads now pouring out of his body in preparation for what was to come, usually this was when anyone without battle experience or just people in general would show fear and possibly attempt to run however what happened was the exact opposite. The first man of the group began to step forward his sword ready as he extended it forward, the strike looked like a mistake as he was more than 2 meters back yet what happened was chakra being shot forward from the blade almost faster than Youka was able to react to as the threads formed a wall almost in front of him.
Youka could feel the threads being cut each and every one of them as whatever that attack was cut through his defenses pushing through it almost as quickly as he could form the threads over again. Weaponry was always an interesting speciality having used it himself before he should have seen something like this coming however it had been a long time since combat had come to him. Twisting his left hand while his right formed the barrier his left would spew threads as well shooting at a blinding speed towards the first man. yet his strike was deflected by another from the front line charging to protect the first from any damage that could have been inflicted. His strike was a crosswords down slice and a physical kick to the heap of threads pushing them back while the others fell to the ground still writhing. What Youka thought was going to be a one on one quickly turned into four of the swords men stepping forward from the group while the first man that had attacked was beginning to start a run towards him.
Things were beginning to become more annoying and his reactions weren't up to the speed they usually would have been at. He was getting flanked from all sides as the four split up each to a specific side and began their movement inwards to pincer him in with their weapons. From under his robes his back began to pulse and bulge as it squirmed to life. from the cover of it a lighting bolt and a four meter fireball shot out to the sides catching the two coming from the side off guard killing the first hit by electricity as it pierced his body. The second went up in a ball of flames screaming as he was burned alive, the masked beasts on his back partly sticking out from him their arms holding onto his shoulders pushing his back down as if they were attempting to rip out of him. A third lifted itself over the others pushing out an air bullet from its face crashing into the third swordsmen crushing his chest in from the impact killing the man on impact. Now fear was settling in for the rest of them, they had thought they were attacking a man a human, someone normal, now they knew...this was no man, nothing human was left to be seen of what was now in front of them. The original first man now stopped in his tracks s he saw his attack pattern and the men beside him fall almost all at the same time. The chakra around the mans sword fading in and out as he tried to maintain chakra control and overcome his fear.
Hunched over, the thread beasts moving on their own still pulling against him forcing his body to convulse as if he was actively having spasms and going into cardiac arrest as he moved forward. The man he was now walking towards dropped his weapon, the once confident face he had was now switched to that of fear. As the distance closed between them the rest of the men tried to steal themselves to route some form of counter attack there were fourteen left, well fifteen but the man in front of him had lost all will to fight and the masked beasts from his back were hoisting the poor man up over Youka's body and now ripping the man apart from each corner of his body. The blood fell downwards covering the threads and some hitting Youka's hair, the body parts were thrown to different areas as the beasts made room for one more pushing now from the rest its mask snaking through the rest of the threads. Spiraled water torrents formed in front of the mask before shooting forward corkscrewing through the air penetrating multiple men their swords attempting to deflect it but being shattered by the sheer force of the water. Multiple bodies were punctured via the water taking six more of them in the process. "Take care of the other six, I'm going to look for the vial."
As he finished speaking the threads and the masked beasts returned to inside his body stitching it back up once more. It allowed him to stand straight up again letting him let out a sigh as he regained his composure and jumping to the top of the caravans searching them one by one for what he was looking for. Each caravan he searched had a different group of vials stored in them, the serums all varying colors. Opening most of the vials one by one through the caravan he'd dip his threads into the vials allowing his medical chakra to breakdown the compounds in an attempt to find which one would corrode his threads. Sure enough during going through the third caravan on one of the vials it began eating at his threads destroying the color turning it white. Having what they came for and hopefully Maku had finished dealing with the rest of the men. Youka would begin to walk toward the bandit in the bush he had left passed out kicking him awake. "Hears your vial, take it and mark the mission complete, you will put the money inside this tree and I'll come back to collect the money, if you don't I will find you and everyone you love will die." With that the man would run off with the vial of poison to hopefully fulfill his job. Looking back at Maku from under his now torn robe and blood soaked hair he'd speak again softly "I'll need to change my cloths" he'd say it in a matter of fact way as he began the walk back in the opposite direction to where he had left his pack where his extra clothes were at. Once picked up he'd take a turn to the tree line where he had heard running water where he would make a trip so he could wash himself nd change out of the blood soaked clothing articles."Once I'm done we will return to the road and reach Konoha soon."

Re: Make The Medicine Go Down(Mission)
Thu Jun 09, 2022 9:42 pm
The woods, what an interesting place to travel through. They were not totally unfamiliar, though he was confident he could not find his way out without the road. He'd been here before, a long time ago, or somewhere akin to here. As they walked he could practically feel the waves of nostalgia coming off not only himself, but the pensive Youka Tau as well. It was in this place that it had all started. In a place so much like this very one. It had been Maku who had stumbled across Youka and another man. At a campfire, he had stumbled across them, little more than a child. He'd gone by Kani at the time, not wanting to give out his real name. Even back then he was at least mildly aware of the dangers such a thing could cause. Though he had given the two his real name not long after meeting, lulled into trust. one of the men disappeared once they made it to their final destination, never to be seen again, and well with Youka....the rest was history. It made him chuckle as they walked, remembering all of this. In particular was the three way scuffle the three men had engaged in in a bit of impromptu training.
Looking back at their clumsy attempts at fisticuffs was humorous in the extreme. If the modern day shinobi that walked this path could see their younger selves...well it would be met with laughter or a certain amount of cringing, it could go either way in truth. With all of his mind full up on nostalgia he almost missed the clumsy attempts of the people that clearly Youka had noticed. Following over he let his friend do the leading. it felt like his portion of the story anyways. A brief scuffle that was over before it began and then an explanation. He listened with some vague interest, before one of the folks had regained their composure and went for back attack on ole Youka boy. A dirty trick, Maku couldn't stand those who didn't fight fair, at least when they weren't him, he was allowed. He watched the man move as though in slow motion, not making a movement for a long time. He assumed Youka would do something to prevent the attack, and yet he did not. At the last possible moment, the man seemed to simply collapse and writhe in pain.
The shackling stakes had taken hold of him, his body was no doubt in extreme anguish, at least Maku assumed so. He'd never used the technique on himself, that would be crazy. Still the technique did its job and he'd essentially taken the man out of the game. Honestly, what would Youka do without him. To anyone watching though, it would be impossible to tell what had happened. The violet contacts hid his dojutsu, and no hand signs were needed. It would just appear as though an invisible force had struck him, which to be fair, was exactly what had happened. That taken care of, he resumed a level of concentration on the conversation. What came next was something out of a hentai novel where the author switched to the horror genre.....clearly not knowing what "climax" was supposed to mean. Making a face he'd look down on the one man left alive still writhing about and moving slowly. :looks like you got off easy champ." He'd say casually. No doubt they were nothing but criminals, he hated criminals.....except himself, and sometimes Youka. "Seemed a bit unnecessary if you ask me." His tone was condescending, the same type one would use on a child who continued to break a toy despite how many times their parent fixed it.
"O well, sounds good. I'm a little light in the pockets anywa...." He'd cut off at the sound of coming footsteps and caravan wheels. Quieting himself, he'd watch as the caravan approached. 4 wagons, 16 swordsmen, plus whatever was inside the wagons. Though presumably the fighters were all outside. He thought they would do it all together, but he guessed he was wrong. Youka carelessly as you please walked straight out, and instantly had garnered the bulk of the attention. The man always preached patience and stealth then he had the audacity to pull such a flamboyant move. Removing his knapsack from his shoulder he laid it down to the man who was still breathing heavily. "Listen buddy boy, I have the books and the model frog figurines counted. You take any and I'll be real grumpy ok?" Satsifed, he would walk his way through the trees, though out of the direct line of fire. Biting on his thumb, a small bit of blood appeared, a couple handseals later and placing his palm on his shoulder an ugly toad appeared. (Objectively of course, he thought himself not bad looking).
"Apple, potato, sqashuty?" The toad said. It's words making no logical sense, but within his mind the same voice was transposed in a language one could. "Whats' all this then?" It would say with a croak. Interesting that it croaked even during telepathy. weird.
"Just a little job for you to help me out with. Give me some cover, just incase. I'm a little rusty." He would ask pleasantly. As he did his own hands moved through seals as the toad did the same. Their actions were independent, and as the toad seemed to power up it's form became more monstrous, glowing slightly. 11 handseals it weaved before placing its webbed hand onto the back of Maku's skull. With the feeling like a cold chill of water a small seal would form on his scalp, completely hidden beneath his hair. The spell binding seal should keep him safe in the event anyone in the group actually knew what they were doing.
As for Maku, he was making his own seals. As he concluded and moved into the next several a variety of odd things occurred. Under three men arrows appeared, firing them into trees. 5 left. Then a point opened up behind all of them a black hole sucking in everything around it. The remaining men plunged towards it, just as the caravan almost upended itself. Before it could however, he placed his still bleeding thumb on the ground summoining a large demonic gate which the carvan bumped into, falling back forward. He gave a slight wince at that....hopefully everything in there was ok. He heard more than saw the crunching as the blackhole did it's job. Stepping out of the trees he had just enough time to witness Youka making someone piss themselves. Really he was so rude, when it was easier to take them out the way he had done.
At Youka's words he struck a salute as he had stepped into full visibility. "Done boss, thank you sir, pleasure to work with you sir." He stood at a mockery of attention as Youka continued to walk by, not flashing a grin until he had already moved away from him. Relaxing he'd go back and collect his knapsack. "Thanks Doku, guess i didn't need you."
"Yurish mau salmon, scritch." He would say, while within Maku's mind "This was so boring....and a waste....ribbit" and he was gone in a puff of smoke. His seal still in place. Gathering up his knapsack he'd sling it over his shoulder. Helping the still trembling man up he'd lead him towards the caravan.
"Now I guess you could say, this wasn't the greatest of days for you. I see where you are coming from with that, but....I mean you now get more money, you'll be ok, and my chap and I did all the work for you. Not bad not bad, if you keep looking on the bright side, thats what I always say." He would continue as they stepped over the remains of what Youka had left behind. The terror on the man's face plane. "Just keep looking on the bright side and it'll all be fine aye?" Helping him sit and lean against a wheel, he'd make a show of dusting off the mans jacket, and then go to find Youka. He had cleared the first caravan and was clearly looking through the second. Popping in, he'd lean his head around. "Any luck just yet?" He'd say. He would listen to what he said, before returning outside due to a coming commotion.
The Rashamon wall was descending into the dirt, and he had released the black hole. In doing so the three men that he had thought were unconscious had been able to let go of the trees. They'd started their walk over, swords at the ready. Sighing he formed a couple of handseals, raising his hand a bright red beam of energy would fire out, igniting the man on the far left. He'd clear his throat with a wince. "oof, sorry that was a little more than I meant. Well listen, " He'd hold up his hands. "Why don't we call it all square, and you all make like trees, and get out of here? Everybody wins." Perhaps if the men couldn't see everything that had occurred, or the quickly going silent of their barbequed friend they'd be more inclined to conversate. Sadly that was not to be the case today. Both men rushed forwards. In truth due to his own actions Maku had seen very little of what the men were capable of. Where Youka had went head on and given them a chance, Maku's own strategy had involved a much more...shinobi-esq solution. Now however he did see as their blades glowed and their shape changing growing.
Bringing his hand down to his mouth he coughed and he cleared his throat once more. Starting to sing, his face would morph for the two for a moment, before they found themselves transported and sealed away. For them, it was some time before they passed out, for Maku a mater of moments. Shaking his head, he'd turn back. " I think that's all of them, can we hurry this up? I know we aren't on a deadline but we will never get anywhere with these pit stops." He'd yell in the direction of the caravans, so that Youka would hear him.

Waiting, no sound came from the caravan. He waited for a little longer before getting annoyed and went to investigate. Going into the caravan he found Youka looking over two vials. Waiting for a moment, he would eventually hold one up after a decent amount of thought. They'd move through the rest of the caravans and their contents, finding a couple more vials of the supposed good stuff. Taking them to the still shaken up would be mugger, they'd assist him with going to where he had been hired. There they would discuss the details of everything that occurred, including the unfortunate passing of the other seven men. Something the one surviving was happy to agree with.
Chatting up the drug buyer, and possibly with a little help Maku and Youka both received payment for the mission that they hadn't originally been assigned to complete. Taking full bags of money, they'd exit the sketchy area and return to the road. There the journey would continue to the town that was their ultimate goal. While they walked, no more shady characters or odd groups would be seen. instead at odds with the start of the day, they were greeted with nothing but silence and tranquility.
Soon, they would make their way into the latest town on their stop, the final checkpoint. Once again maku would enter first and thanks to some new income would seek out their lodgings. Once secured, they would have a single room to share. Two beds, just incase Youka was worried. A hearty meal was prepared, a couple of drinks ordered, and they would retreat to their room. There the map would be brought back out and a vibrant discussion would begin to take place. It was all coming together after all this time.
