Eternity was lazing around on the beach with Snow. They were both reclined on beach chairs and just taking in the sun. Finally, just maybe they would get a single day of relaxation out of this “vacation” of theirs. Unfortunately, there was a bad person in the area. They cast a powerful genjutsu on the beach goers and Eternity was thrown into it. Eternity thought she woke early in the morning to start on her exercises for the day. She was trying to get into a routine to build up her body. She’d always thought that being able to roll well was important for pulling off burglaries. Rolls would help move out of someone’s field of view quickly or move quickly while crouched. Unfortunately, she had never really spent the time to learn how to do them well. She was fairly incompetent when it came to these sorts of things, having no natural born gifts that helped. If she wanted to improve, she definitely had to work at it.
Eternity didn’t do the stretches that she ought to have. It wasn’t as if anyone had ever told her to do so. She just picked a spot in her back yard and just started rolling around on the ground as best she could. Her first attempt went just about as bad as she expected. Her elbows dug into the grass and as she threw her weight over into a flip, she fell onto her side. The grass really helped dull the rough impact so she tried again immediately afterwards. She knew what a flip was supposed to look like but for whatever reason she kept wanting to twist and land on her side.
“This sucks,” she thought after sideways rolling some more. Her muscles were already starting to say “no thanks” when her brain told them to try again. She definitely was not in the mood to push herself.
She sighed and laid on her back while she thought about what she was doing wrong. She pictured a front roll in her mind and thought about how the hands ought to look. She supposed they should evenly press the ground. Had that been her problem? She couldn’t remember even thinking about her hand positioning. She sighed yet again and looked into the clear sky wishing she could get stronger without putting in the work.
Before she got to try again, she was distracted by someone waving at her. Just what she needed, a reason to stop her foolishness.
“Eternity, good to see ya,” a man named Shamus said.
“Mind if I cut through,” he asked while motioning to the property behind hers. It was fairly common for him to make the request. He was related to one of her rear neighbors and it was faster to cut through her yard than to walk all the way around the complex of homes.
“Sure, go ahead,” Eternity said casually. She liked Shamus simply because he was to-the-point and nice to look at. She might have been embarrassed but this was hardly the first time he’d seen her fooling around in her yard.
Shamus nodded and made his way over the fence that blocked her yard off. He landed with a thud and stumbled a bit before standing up again. “What are you up to this time?” he asked.
“Oh, nothing much, just rolling around. I’m trying to learn how to flip but it’s pretty hard.” Eternity glanced back at him again and saw that he was shirtless. In an instant she forgot all about practicing and wanted nothing more than to get Shamus into her bed. She had no idea that he had muscles like that and the way that his sweat glistened. There was another thing that caught her eye: a purse. Since he hand no shirt to conceal it was visibly wedged between his waist and pants. Eternity might have missed it had she hadn’t been looking him up and down very closely.
“By the way Shamus,” she asked as a plan hatched in her mind. She plotted to get Shamus’ money and maybe a little more if she could manage to pull it off.
“Hmm?”
“You look like you need something to drink and so do I. Want to pop into the house for a sec?”
“Oh, that’s okay. I’m already late.”
“Well, if you’re already late then what’s a few more minutes compared to the time I’ve saved you by letting you cut through my yard? Come, let’s go, no sense in arguing out in the sun.” Eternity grabbed him by the arm and led him inside. She sat him down at her kitchen table across from herself and fetched some drinks for the two of them. Nothing special, just water for her and some juice for him.
“What brings you over to this part of town,” Eternity questioned as she thought of how she was going to find out if he was single and/or interested in her if only for just a fling.
“Just visiting relatives. I’m supposed to pick something up and deliver it for them.” Shamus glanced around the room. The home was nothing special and it wasn’t like Eternity spent much time making the place look good. Shamus just wanted to finish the drink and get out of there.
“That’s so sweet of you to do that for them.” Eternity said while looking none to subtly at his upper body. “Anything else planned for today?
“No, not really. I have some errands to run but this is my day off.” Shamus said.
“What was it that you do for work?” Eternity asked.
“I work in construction this time of year. I switch to working as a farmhand in the fall and I take whatever I can get in the winters.” Shamus tapped his glass nervously.
“So that’s why your body looks so amazing.” Eternity giggled.
“Uh, thanks?” Shamus said.
“Ha! You probably already knew that. So, what do you think about the two of us going on a date?” Eternity wanted to get to the point.
Shamus chugged his juice and stood up hurriedly. “Well, thanks for the drink.”
“Sheesh, you really are in a rush. Okay, if you must go, then go. I just thought that you might be… I suppose if I’m not…” Eternity trailed off. She was trying her best to seduce this man and she wasn’t sure why her charm wasn’t working.
“No no, I didn’t mean it that way. I’m sure you’re a great gal it’s just that there’s someone else.” Shamus said. He blushed and Eternity stood up to grab his hand. She couldn’t let him go, not yet. She could stand for him to go without flirting first but she still hadn’t had a chance to have a go at his money bag.
“I figured that might be the case. Just so you know, I’m totally fine keeping things between us…” Eternity laced her fingers of one hand through his and stepped close to him. She made a silent prayer to whoever might be able to hear it. She wished for him to give in to her and to be the kind of guy who was okay with cheating now and then. She knew it was a big ask but it couldn’t hurt to try. She bit her lip as she looked into his eyes and slowly went for a kiss. Her free hand wrapped around his back and fell to his side and then his waist where she carefully pulled the money bag free while Shamus was busy trying to decide what to do about the kiss. She tucked the pouch in her sleeve and opened her eyes to see that Shamus had turned his head to the side.
“I really, should be going,” he said. He seemed stressed out, embarrassed, and shocked all in one pained look. He shook his hand free of hers and used the door to get to the back yard.
Eternity frowned. She really had thought she could get the whole package. A kiss, maybe more, and the money. She wondered why he wasn’t interested in her. She thought she was as attractive as they came, though she looked a little disheveled since she’d been rolling around outside. Perhaps she had come on too strong, or not strong enough. She thought about it for a while as she poured the coins out onto her bed and tossed the purse into the fire to burn away the evidence. She ended up deciding that she should ought to have went to change her clothes into something more seductive as soon as she poured the drinks. Something to try next time, perhaps.
All in all, Eternity was pleased with how things turned out. She hadn’t gotten the man but she’d gotten the money. She doubted he would think she’d taken it and even if he did, he’d have to prove it which would be difficult as his purse was burnt to a crisp and the money was carefully hid. It hadn’t been a very large sum of money, but small-time theft was how she managed to get by.
“Now what was I doing before I got distracted?” She wondered. “Oh yeah, rolling. Oof what a chore. Plus it’ll be getting hot soon.” She’d think of any excuse not to go back out and do exercise. She settled for staying indoors to plan a shopping trip.
It was only when she laid down that she remembered “hey, I was just on the beach wasn’t I? Why the fuck am I here? I don’t own a fucking house? This is all fucked up!”
Everything in this world was drawn on the canvas that was space. To be a shinobi was to acknowledge this fact. And to be a legendary shinobi - a thing Eternity had soon approached was to master the art of pulling the veil from over the canvas. To erase what was there and reanimate what had been there before. To eliminate, in sometimes permanent fashion, the scrawled image of this world that many considered to be objective reality. How did one break objective reality, permanently? By acknowledging the false narrative; acknowledging that, in fact, it was subjective. There was no such thing as objective reality. Not in a galaxy where chakra could dwell. She voiced these opinions to her self, who agreed. She was further impressed by her grasp of reality and what constituted it. She knew that it wouldn’t be long before she could figure all this shit out, not that she had really demonstrated any progress… yet.
Meanwhile, Snow was having a very similar dream. She was in a totally foreign town. Unlike Snow Snow knew in the back of her mind that something was wrong from the start. She knew that this was likely some kind of advanced illusion but she still couldn’t help the illusion from running its course. In her new illusory life today was a day of celebration for most in the area. This was a day that they gave offerings of glass for the higher beings of the world by getting plastered and smashing glass. Snow was no different, though she only drank one glass of beer. She wanted to be sober when everyone else wasn’t. One could still enjoy the festivities even without a buzz. In fact, Snow thought it was even more enjoyable sober because it was sometimes hard to notice you’d been cut by one of the pieces of glass if you didn’t have your wits about you.
The drunken atmosphere provided many opportunities for a thief. Snow hadn’t gone out to town with the intention to steal but she did enjoy making a game of guessing where people kept their money. She had nefarious plans for the end of the day but for the time being, she stayed out of trouble. She laughed with complete strangers, made small talk, and tried to make new friends. The most interesting person she met was a man who claimed to not have slept in three days because he was in a fight with his wife. She had given him some sass and he’d committed to staying awake until she apologized. Somehow Snow didn’t see him winning this fight because everyone had to sleep at some point.
It turned out that trying to make friends was a fruitless endeavor as it usually was. People that were too drunk to make coherent sentences were rarely the type to remember much more than a face. Still, they were fun company to be around. Snow headed on home after sharing some delicious food with a group of them.
Full, sober, and happy, the budding thief made her way back home so she could set up for her evening plans. She intended to take a nice long walk down the neighborhoods until she found a nice empty home. There was bound to be a good number of homes empty since there were so many festivities going on. With any luck the people who did remain hope would be too drunk to notice her poking around. Nobody seemed to pay her any mind, though she wasn’t all that good at spotting when she was being watched. She was busy focusing on finding some good target homes at the moment.
As she walked she analyzed each home that she came across. “No, not that one,” she’d think as she managed to spot smoke coming out of a window. Someone was probably cooking inside. “Not that one either,” she’d think whenever she would see people walking into or out of a home. It turned out that a lot of people were home which was unexpected. Snow picked up on the trend that most of them were people with kids, or the elderly which made sense after she thought about it.
“Come on, there’s got to be at least one secluded home that’d be easy to steal from,” she thought as she got annoyed. This neighborhood seemed to be chock full of large families.
This wasn’t exactly a leisurely walk since the sun still blazed overhead. Try as she might she just could not decide on a home. There was always something that threw her off and by the time she’d decide to take a closer look she’d get nerves and keep walking down the street. It wasn’t so much that she was scared of failing to get into the home. When it came to that, she was quite confident. She was scared of getting caught or possibly beaten up by whoever was inside.
“Maybe I’m just not good enough to hit these kinds of homes yet. Maybe I should have drunk a little more to get rid of the butterflies in my stomach. I’ll have better luck around my own home.”
So home was where she went. She refreshed herself with a cooling wash and proper hydration. Afterwards she sat on a chair and stared out the window into her back yard. There were numerous homes behind her and she had a good view of most of them. She knew at least two who were very likely to be out of the home at the current time. There were a few others that she had actually been in before because she was friends with the owners. She felt a moral dilemma:
“Should I rob someone I know and like just because it’ll be easy? Or should I pick someone who I hate just to spite them? Do I want to feel bad or to have suspicion drawn to me? Who knew that being a thief was going to be so tough?” Snow ultimately decided to go with one of the homes she’d been to before. She liked the couple that lived there and really hated to have to pick them, but she valued her own neck more than she did their happiness.
Snow had some lockpicking tools in her pocket as she made her way into her back yard. She looked closely around her and tried to see anyone that might be looking at her. She couldn’t see anyone but like before she didn’t have much expertise in this area so there very well may have been someone watching. She tried to stay relatively hidden by concealing herself behind shrubbery as she approached the home. When she finally got to their back door she already had her relevant lockpicking tools in hand which she stuck into the lock with a practiced motion. A small creak of metal came from the lock as she inserted her tools.
“Shit” she thought. She’d have to be careful with making noise. She wished she had brought along her entire lockpicking kit which contained a tin of oil which she could have used to oil up the lock.
“Should I go back and get it?” she wondered, but she didn’t want to risk being seen so she decided to stay put. She’d have to be as quiet as possible when opening the lock. She tried to turn the handle of the door hoping that it was not locked, but it was. No matter, she slid her tools around within the lock as carefully as possible until she’d triggered the opening mechanism. There was nothing she could do about the satisfying but audible sound the lock made when it was unlocked. Snow glanced over her shoulder nervously before turning the handle and heading inside.
“Anyone home? I needed to talk to you, it’s urgent,” she said, hoping a response would tell if anyone was home or not. There was no response, thankfully. She realized that she ought to build a story in case she got caught but she couldn’t focus on that yet.
Snow made her way through the small home as quietly as possible, though her feet did end up kicking a few things since she was too busy looking for valuables rather than paying attention to the floor. She was looking for either jewelry or coins – the two most preferable things to steal in her experience. She went to the bedroom and started sifting through the various belongings. She checked the dresser, the closet, underneath inconspicuously placed items yet she turned couldn’t find anything. There was no telling if there even was something to find. It wasn’t as if this was a wealthy neighborhood.
“Think, woman!” Snow thought to herself as she started getting more desperate. While she’d previously taken care to put things back just as she’d found them she no longer cared about that. She rifled through everything she could find until finally she found a parcel that jingled when she shook it. She tore it open to see that it was filled with money. A wave of relief washed over her. She wasn’t exactly broke at the moment but if she went much longer without stealing she’d have to resort to getting a real job. Something part time and temporary, just until she could pull off another theft.
Snow looked over at the room she’d made a mess of with a feeling of regret and then made her way out of the home. She left the way she came and made sure to re-lock the door. The money was tucked neatly inside of her pocket and she snuck back home, hoping that nobody was able to see her. Once she was finally safe inside her own home she wiped sweat off of her face and went to lie on her bed.
“Oh, that’s right. I have to think of a cover story in case I end up getting caught.. Hm, I’ll say that I heard some noise and went to check it out. I went inside and there was a thief who threatened if I told on him he would kill me. I wonder if they’ll buy it. Not sure I even buy it.” She spent a good deal of time thinking of improvements to her story but it was always bad. Hopefully someday she’d become a good liar.
That was her last thought before she fell asleep. Then, her subconscious which was not immersed in the Genjutsu finally took control.
“KAI” she shouted. She instantly sat up in reality with her eyes wide open. She looked over at Eternity and the memories started flooding back. They’d been sunbathing when the mass illusion had been set. Eternity was drooling into her towel when Snow released her from the genjutsu as well.
“Hey, you were in an illusion. So was I,” Snow said.
“Huh?” Eternity asked.
“No time to chit chat. We need to take care of whoever is putting everyone in the illusion.” Snow said. She looked around. The culprit was obvious. They were the only ones standing as everyone else had fallen to the ground. Snow recognized the dude’s getup as matching the cultist from a previous shark mission.
“He’s part of that stupid cult,” Snow hissed at Eternity.
“Oh that figures,” Eternity sighed. She held these beliefs to heart, and as she did so, she channeled her energy. she focused. Twenty meters ahead of her. Twenty-five. she wanted to be able to run fast, faster than even the one who used teleportation. A massive blur in space, the blur that would be barely visible to those who she fought against. And so she sprinted. This was the fastest she’d ever gotten. she could feel herself accelerating still. And then it stopped. It retracted, and as the her nerves calmed down slowly, the energy that went into accelerating her blasted forwards.
Eternity was flung backwards, her body traveling a distance of several meters before her back hit the grass and dug into it, her simple clothes ruined by the dirt. The uchiha rubbed her head. "Fuck," she cursed. "I was so close, too." It was a technique that few in history had been able to do, save for the great legends. Eternity was close to beginning to even open the eight chakra gates but it was too unnatural for her as uchiha to handle as she currently was. She would need to do a lot of extra training if she was going to end up doing that in the future. She wanted to indulge in such a jutsu like gates but she wasn’t going to be doing it anytime soon. She only needed to take that final step. Her lower lip was bleeding, as she’d bit into it quite hard as she was flung back. The shinobi rubbed the blood off of her lip, spitting dirt onto the floor. "I came damn close," she grunted. "I’m going to learn this thing god damnit" Meditation had to be one of the first few things she had to work on, in order to manifest a sound mind within the sound body she possessed. In truth there had been a lot to consider as of late; first being created in this world with the purpose of being canon fodder.
“Still can’t open the gates huh,” Snow said sadly. Well, she had a counter for genjutsu, more genjutsu! She stunned the culprit in place while Eternity ran up behind him and tackled him to the ground.
“Motherfucker!! You wasted our vacation, you're gone!” Just when the death blow was about to strike, a knife that he had swung at her head was blocked by another weapon. No more noise, a heavy atmosphere, a thunderclap. A dark aura was felt, the others looked around, and became more and more nervous. They felt this demonic aura, but saw nothing. Suddenly, a loud rumble sounds, and of the ground left Eternity as it was literally parted away. Earth spikes rose, striking down the villain limb by limb. Now she was being rescued by this mysterious person. Finally, the shinobi were waking up and could deal with the threat. They were a bit late tho.
One shinobi even showed up on a big horse. He was sitting there, facing them, immense on his enormous steed, which struck its hoof on the ground which trembled with each blow. They all took out katana, and thought they could attack it like this. The good thing was that they didn't know anything about him, including that he couldn’t be touched by any physical blow. He sent a quick and powerful blow, to cut the enemy. That was the end of that.

Technically you are owed 57 WC though it doesn't make much when split.
