Let us Dance in the Moon Light - Page 2 Empty Re: Let us Dance in the Moon Light

Tue Jan 24, 2023 4:17 am
Remika, distracted by the motions of the person in the distance, wouldn’t see the actions of the others, not even noticing the fact that the two other females had came close enough to her for her attention to be caught; it wasn’t until Bali spoke up, offering for them to attempt to catch the person she had seen, “I think so.” Remika nodded, taking off at full speed, her hands waving seals as she moved, her body flickering in a straight line, her field of vision focusing on the closest pin point where she had watched the figure enter into the newest of the houses, Remika would land only a few feet from the house, only slightly crouched in positioning, her eyes watching closely as the figure came flying out of the house and barrelling towards the next target, however Remika was laying in wait just out of view, she would lunge towards her prey, a predator in the night waiting for her meal, her actions were primal,

Any bystander watching would see graceful movements, almost as if she missed her target, but her left hand would swing upwards, catching the back of the figures collar, grabbing a hold of the fabric quickly enough for her to use the momentum to fling the figure towards the closest ally way, sending them flying through the air both in shock and horror, her redden orbs glowing with excitement as she continued her movements, bringing herself closer to the figure, her claws extending outwards as she rushed towards them once again, this time digging her claws into the figures shoulder, the rough smell of iron rang through the air as she fought the urge to bite into the neck of the poor soul she had finally entangled with, using her continuous momentum as her way to fling the figure into the alleyway.

Her eyes continued to burn a hole into the figure, their face obscured by a black mask, their height being far more than Remika, but nowhere near enough to be a problem for the pure blood Kyuketsuki to through around like a rag doll. Remika closed the distance quickly, her voice lower, no longer melodic like it normally was, but rather a horse guttural sound that escaped her lips, her fangs fully out; as she did speak, “Where….Are…You hiding your spoils, thief?” Remika stood still, only being a few feet away from the figures position; still laid on the ground, staring at the Duchess of Blood, fear strewn across their dull grey eyes, panic formed in them, the beat of their heart had increased tenfold from Remika’s actions, it wasn’t often that the pureblood used her abilities, or even bothered to get her hands dirty, but Remika wanted to deal with this situation quickly and swiftly as possible.

However the figure didn’t respond… This enraged the woman, her hatred of having to get her hands dirty with such minuscule work, to the blatant lack of regard for its own life with the lack of response. “Do you not worry for your life?” She questioned the figure that still remained silent… She could still hear the heartbeat, but it wasn’t directly in front of her anymore, which made no sense as the figure remained in front of her… Her eyes narrowing as she swung her right hand, hitting the object in front of her; watching as it puffed up in smoke… Whoever was stealing was skilled in the art of deception… More than she was prepared to like in the current moment, at least. “Cute tricks… But I know something you don’t know.” The sing-songy guttural tone of Remika’s voice rang out, she might not visually be able to see the figure anymore, but she was certainly able to pin point them based off of the sound of their heart beat.

Fast or slow, tricks or not… The thing in your chest, that pounds like the beating of drums is how I’ll find you.” The pureblood stated, her eyes scanning the alleyway, she knew the distance sound from the beating that the figure was more than close enough to her, only a few feet away, trying to find a way to scurry past her without being seen – Remika locked on to a dumpster, large enough to conceal the figure from her sight, but not large enough to effectively hide it from her grasp.

Remi moved quickly, the silence in her steps would give her the advantage she was looking for, as she quickly grabbed a hold of the collar of the creature once again, pinning it down, her claws and hand wrapped around its throat, the black mask quickly being torn off to reveal the face of a middle aged woman, hair unkempt, a bewildered look on her face as the tears began to stream down it, Remika’s own face still that of horror – Remi would allow her features to dissipate, her fangs and claws retracting as she continued to hold the woman down. “Do you think crying is going to help your situation, peasant?” Remika inquired, but was meant with nothing but silent tears.

The woman cried out, loudly this time for a male, Remika assumed it had to have been her husband, an accomplish in the thief’s, that would explain the speed of which she assumed the figure was moving, there had been two of them all along… And from the sound of it, not too far off, the others had gotten the other one already. “My friends already caught him… And I’ve got you. I wonder which one of you will break easier?” Remika inquired moving her hand down to the woman’s arm, grabbing her wrist tightly as she reefed the limb upwards, pushing it past the point it would bend naturally, but not enough to break it yet. “You’re choices here are simple. Return what you’ve stolen. Have your husband do the same, and I’ll allow you to keep your life, and your arm.” Remika stated, her eyes staring down at the woman who laughed towards the Duchess.

A loud, wet ‘SPAT’, rang through the air as the woman on the ground spit in Remika’s face… The audacity of creatures so much weaker then herself… Remika would quickly press down, the sound of the woman’s arm snapping in the air was almost as joyful as the screams of pain and horror that followed it brought Remika the most joy; the smile that creeped along the Duchess’s face as she was the now useless limb fall to the ground, broken and battered. “You’ve got far more limbs, and this time…” Remika reached down to touch her other arm, “I think I’ll savor this one… Breaking each finger… Then your wrist… Then your elbow before finally your shoulder…” Remika whispered, letting the hand caress her face as her creeped her own fingers up the arm towards its hand. “Oh could you imagine how much fun it would be for us to play for just a little?” Remika huffed out, her sheepish grin growing ever wider as she found the excitement building up.

FINE! STOP! I’LL GIV E IT BACK… I’LL GIVE IT ALL BACK!” The woman cried, causing Remika to pout just slightly. “That’s certainly what I wanted… But not I don’t get to have fun.” A soft sigh as she got up off the woman, grabbed her collar to drag her upwards. “Time to get you back to your husband… You give back what you’ve taken, then you go get your arm fixed… If you do this in any other way, I’ll find out… And it will be your throat I come for next.” Remika stated, blankly and without emotion, as she pushed the woman out into the street.

The woman would take off towards her husband once they found sights of each other, the grimace on the man’s face towards the woman’s condition was enough to make Remika aware they would listen to their warnings at the very least.

Before Remika could state anything, Iscarot would return to the group, his voice booming as it did, alerting the group to the incoming blizzard and missing husband. This would cause Remika to groan ever so slightly, “It’s always something here isn’t it?” She questioned, before agreeing to the request of assistance in retrieving the missing husband. Sight would be useless for the others in the group, but for Remika, she didn’t have to rely on sight, but rather the sound of beating hearts in a close range distance. “Let us prepare for our mission then.” Remika would state, nodding, “If we are required to travel into the blizzard we should know of what is in the surrounding area, should we need to seek shelter of any kind.” Remika stated, placing her thumb and index finger on her chin as she thought, her tongue pressing against the roof of her mouth as she thought carefully about their course of action that would need to be taken.

Remika glanced around, noticing a strangely dressed man, in what appeared to be a uniform, although it didn’t look like a normal uniform, she gathered that as much, he had to be some type of authority figure within this strange village. Remika would quickly approach them, inquiring about the outside of the village, and the surrounding area, as well as the missing person they were heading out to find. Even though the man advised against it, Remika explained that they were highly skilled shinobi of villages around the world, and could easily handle the situation… That was when the man’s facial expressions changed, “Well… If that’s the case, I can give you a map… And directions… But I also need your help too then.” He stated, explaining that there had been a recent band of robbers going around the wealthy sector of the village, the same homes that could be located just on the outskirts surrounding the village, he circled a specific part of the map, to a large house, stating that he thought they would go to this one next; as it matched the line of actions that they already had taken.

Remika nodded, listening, taking the map and the information, having already agreed to it, she returned to the group with the information, informing them of the secondary task, and the line of houses that they could use for cover should they need it, as well as the group of robbers. “I think we can certainly manage these tasks together, even if it seems a lot, we could even split up to accomplish them if we choose to… But I think it be smarter for us to stay together, especially with the blizzard coming.” Remika noted towards the others, her eyes glancing towards Bali and Rin, before falling back on Iscarot.

Within the right area,” Remika pulled open the map, as she kneeled down, using her knees to keep it propped open enough for all the others to see, her finger scanning along it, pointing out the house where they suspected the next hit, “If we follow the larger round about to bring us here, we have a decent chance of running into the missing husband… At least I hope.” She stumbled for a moment, she couldn’t understand why he had taken off, knowing the town was blocking the area off because of a blizzard… She certainly hoped that his taking off didn’t give him involvement with the thief’s they needed to catch… It would certainly make things rather awkward… Though she would keep these thoughts to herself for the time being, she didn’t want to damper the mood any more than it already was.

Once it was completely agreed upon, Remika would head out towards the section they already begun to close off due to the storm, hearing the warning of people, the ‘it isn’t safe out there’, ‘there is a storm coming’, all falling on deaf ears, as she had no interest in the pity cries of sane people not wanting to put themselves as risk…

She wasn’t sure what it was... If it could have been the screams that wind proceeded as it flew by them as they walked towards what could very well be impending doom.. Or perhaps it was something else, something deeper and darker hiding out in the tree line that risked the excitement that came to Remika... She couldn’t be to sure... She never could be. She still didn’t entirely trust the land she found herself within... She knew that at the end of the day, she had a mission and a mission that would be carried out with the utmost grace as possible... Even if the people who walked with her didn’t know she was a Kage... even if they didn’t know she was a Noblesse... A Kyuketsuki of the purest bloods... She knew. And that was all that mattered to the Duchess of Blood...

Remika gave a soft sigh, knowing as they inched ever so closer to the end of the road, where the road block began, as the snow picked up ever more fierce than it had before, that most of them would be entering the blizzard blind, the possibility of death via hypothermia was more than possible...  At least for them, not her... Something would need to be alive to be killed by means that were so frivolous. Remika knew, however, that she would need to play her abilities smart, using them only when they needed them the most... Her ability to sense heart beats... Her hearing... her eye sight... Everything about the woman was more superior to the others, but the heart beats... That was her bread and butter... Should she ever loose her eyes... Lose her ability to hear...

She could always sense.

And thus she did, as the bodies of villagers walked past the rag tag group, their beating hearts went with them, silencing the surroundings save for the four individuals that stood around her her. The three within her group, and the final guard that watched the group approach. Something told Remika that this one wouldn’t give them much of a fight, his already slowing blood flow from the coldness of the air, and the decrease in his once steady heart beat made it rather obvious he needed to be relieved and sent packing. “Your Captain sent us. You need to go and report that we’ve made it and sent you off.” Remika stated as she passed by him, he went to go and argue with her, but was greeted with one of the most dirties side eyes, her crimson red orbs staring at him as if she could rip out his throat and eat it right there...

The look may mislead in the fact that she wouldn’t actually do it... As she would quite, in fact rip him limb from limb to feast as she was meant to... But restraint was something that she needed to use dearly in this case. The man would simply nod, giving up before taking off towards the center of the town, her eyes shutting for the first time as she stretched her arms out wide, slowly releasing her chakra from her body, the snow white chakra that radiated off of her would quickly begin to seep downwards spreading out as she searched for signs of life... Any other kind of life. She knew it wasn’t far enough away to make it impossible to reach, the faint sound of thumping... But the moment they’d move, she would quickly loose her spot, almost as if her chakra had been sent flying back towards her. “This way...” She would mutter, heading towards the left, she could feel a heart beating in this specific direction, but she wasn’t able to pinpoint an exact location... They were simple to far away... To many variables that could happen... She needed to think not only of herself in this situation but the group that was with her.

A soft sigh, as the snow crunched under neither of the feet of the group, Remika moved swiftly, making sure to stay within a sight able distance for those behind her as she moved closer towards the beating hearts in the distance, each movement she made towards them, it felt as if they were moving further from her, at a rather quickened speed... She of course couldn’t tell exactly what was happening, but by the actions and sounds of the inconsistent beats, at least two of them were either in trouble or in a fight... Or some kind of issue was happening up ahead, Remika knew that an average middle age man, around the age of 31-40 years old, which was in fact the description of the husband that they had to look for would have a normal beat per minute of around 78.5, however, the heart rate of what she would now call as heart one, stayed in a consistent range of 128 to 142, making Remika think that either this person was scared to death, had recently been beaten up but was still conscious enough to know their surroundings and to be scared about it, or was currently fighting due to the fluctuation of the beats, the others however, heart beat two, as she would refer to it as, compared to the others within the group, who had a consistent average rate of around 81.6 beats per minute, this gave Remika the idea that they were perhaps early twenties, late teens... But heart two, it middle out at a rate of 110, steadily, with little to no fluctuation in its beats... This would give Remika the idea that this heart beat... Would be the one either in the altercation with heart one, or at the very least be in charge of what is happening, thus causing the stress on the heart to increase the beats. She gathered enough that heart two had to be around 21 to 30 years old, but that he wasn’t the boss, since the lack of elevation in the other hearts, made it clear enough they didn’t fear or worry about heart one or two.

Remika found herself chewing slightly on her bottom lip as she remained focused on the beating hearts in front of her and not those surrounding her... Unsure of any conversations that were being had around her at the time, she would completely interrupt anything being spoken about. “We’re getting close... I suspect the building and the missing husband is tied together.” She would state, the wind around them whipping against bodies harsher than it had before, the low visibility was more than apparent when Remika came to a complete halt, crouching down as she attempted to focus her eyesight on the buildings in front of her. She knew by the steady pace of heart beats, along with the increased beats from the others that were grouped up with heart one and two, that they’ve entered a building or location, where the real boss was, the increased beats, ever subtle in change, were more than enough to show that someone with real power laid behind walls of stone. Remika had always enjoyed how fear interacted with the human heart, it was something else, when someone found themselves scared or terrified, the reaction and sway that could be made, the increase of beats, the sweaty palms of nervous men and women... It was all so much for them to bear, but for someone like Remika, someone who hadn’t known fear for a long time... Had she ever known fear? Could a creature like the pure blood Kyuketsuki know fear? Yes, she had... Thousands of years ago, Remika had experienced fear, fear for the unknown, fear for the murder of her parents... She knew what fear was... She didn’t like it. At least not in herself, but since the first time she had felt fear, fear was something she continuously used for her advantage.

She would place her hands into the snow, letting her chakra flow across the ground, searching for traps, searching for a path for them to use to make it across and into the building without notifying anyone else that they had arrived. As the chakra flew across the short span of land and stone and concrete, searching, writhing across snow and mortar, she found her path, it would take them across the court yard, on to the side of the house, over top of the frozen pool... That part could be dangerous if the ice wasn’t frozen enough, but she figured that most of them were shinobi and capable of walking across water if the need for it a raised...With a soft smirk, she realized that they would need to scale the building in the harsh wind, open the window on the third floor, slip in without a sound and descend upon them quickly and without mercy.

Almost as simple and easy of a mission, but it held many complications and unknowns inside of it... She could determine that there was a total of 17 people inside of the building, but she couldn’t determine how strong they were, what abilities they held... She couldn’t determine if they had weapons, as they certainly had traps down... “Listen here.” Remika announced as she turned back, cutting off her ties to the chakra that she allowed to move across the land and building as she began to explain to them what she had sense, the amount of people, the path they would need to take and the unknown pieces that she couldn’t give them.

I know it doesn’t sound like a simple mission... At least not anymore. But I’m almost positive that one of those bodies inside of the building is the missing husband. I’m also positive the boss of this whole operation is inside of there as well. I don’t think this is a hit house... I think the police had it wrong... I think this is their base.

Remika wasn’t completely sure of it, it would be strange for robbers to booby-trap the place they were robbing, considering the snowstorm and perfect cover they would have... But based on the surroundings, there was no other heart beats save for those of the three around her... She knew that either if there was more to this group, that they were not within the wealthy sector of the village, which she didn’t think was the case, she figured at most, everyone involved in the little ring of bandits were within that building. Remi would turn to look towards the building, “And if you all are ready.. Or if you want to plan for something... Let us do it now... Otherwise... Let us begin.” Remika stated, eagerly waiting to get inside and tear the people inside of it apart... The wonder and awe of the whole situation was something that the woman simply couldn’t wait much longer for.

Let us Dance in the Moon Light - Page 2 Empty Re: Let us Dance in the Moon Light

Sat Feb 04, 2023 12:44 am

Baliquis was expecting something. Maybe a slap, maybe a punch, maybe an attack because she was accustomed to the tense silence between two women resulting in an explosion. Learned behaviors and hyperawareness were gifted to her unconsciously by her family and her mother’s limitless and heavens-high expectations. She did not know what to expect or what she was expecting at all, but she knew she had to have an expectation for a reaction. She wasn’t expecting Rin to cut her off and have a burst of emotion, but it was also a very emotionally charged situation and discussion.

She lowered her head, and her hair covered her face and her eyes to make discerning what her facial reaction to everything completely impossible. “Bullshit.” she said quietly before she repeated it louder. “That is utter Bullshit! No one is a good person when the living corruption that is that asshole gets involved in your life, you violated something private, and I won’t ever forgive you for that, but there is no way in hell that thing is causing you any more damage than it already has. You mark my words Baliquis Hozuki, whatever horrors that creature has placed upon your life, you are not responsible for a single one of them, the Monsterous spawn, the creature sent masquerading as children to your home, are better off dead now, before they can be used for whatever sick plan they had been conceived for.” Then there was a soft, catching sound she had not heard in a while. It was the soft sounds of suffering, the swift, feathery catchings of breath, and Bali could have sworn she saw something fall before the other woman raised her head. She was crying indeed, and her tear-laden eyes, tear-streaked cheeks, and expression were just factual confirmation of it. Rin placed a hand on the woman’s shoulder. “Forgiveness or not, when it comes to the black stitched demon, you will have an ally in me, whatever choices you make. Just ensure that when you make a move, you do not lose more than you planned on wagering.” She said, waving her stump as if to make a point. Baliquis heard Remika and Rin’s voices after a sigh, “We should pick this up afterwards, it would be ill-advised to keep her waiting.”

The snowball fight went down as if she had been there before, and she joined in the festivities. To help her newfound comrades- well, that was a fucking lie. Baliquis just wanted a reason to pelt kids in the face publicly because fuck them. The two of them went right into a snowball fight; a group of five kids was raining down snowballs on the other man as he tried to have some semblance of shelter. She and the others got snowballs together, and they began to show comradery by making their own snowballs and fending back the children. Back-and-forth balls of snow flew until the children were called away by their parents one by one, and there were no longer any assaulting officers of the ramshackle militia of snowball soldiers.

This time, however, she didn’t notice the other person with them through these misadventures; a tall, athletic build man. He possesses two things that Baliquis had never seen before. Healthy hair that went down to the nape of his neck is silvery tussles. Then some smoothed-down- bulbous stubs? It seemed as if something had been there once before but cut at the root, and the root seemed to appear smooth and blemish free, only becoming apparent when he moved a hand through his bangs as he readied snowballs. A silver-haired male- he seemed to be as tall as Baliquis too. It had been a while since she met someone as tall as her since most in Hoshi seemed shorter or more petite than she.

After that was finished, a motherly scream erupted, and Baliquis looked over, but once more, Remika was first to lead, so she went ahead and followed a familiar scene of two children stuck to a cold pole. By their tongues. It was painfully familiar, as if she had already been here, and Baliquis smiled as she once again went over to the children and their frost-bought issue. Baliquis stepped in once more and once more used her ability to change her body to water and the water’s temperature to pour it down on the pole and above their tongues with lukewarm water against the cold air and the icy pole. The children could unstick themselves, and they quickly took off to their parents, and Baliquis chuckled.

Then she noticed it- Remika seemed to be focusing on something in the distance. Baliquis followed her gaze and saw something moving out of the house, and then she looked back at Remika. She seemed focused on the figure, and Baliquis moved over to her as Remika whispered, “Caught you.” Bali stopped beside her, leaning down, and asked her quietly,

“Want to go catch him and beat him up?” Baliquis whispered next to her ear and hoped she would be open to it just as she was open to the last time they spent time together. When Remika set off, she followed her willingly and let her take charge of the impromptu mission.

She ran towards the home-robbing culprit with her new group of companions, and she had to admit; this all seemed very familiar. The unfamiliar part was the resurgence of the silver-haired man to resurge as he flew past her, Rin and Remika moving towards the area. Baliquis was mortified. They could fly? These fucking shinobi could motherfucking fly? By the Sage, who goddamn sanctioned these vermin to soar the air? Did he touch a couple and say to them in a wisened, softened-with-age voice, ‘Go with peace through the air, my child’? How horrendous. They deserved the genocide they would receive once she became powerful enough to make sure none of these fuckers could stand against her when she gave it to them by her own hand. She watched as the silver-haired man caught a glimpse of what they were chasing after- a thief scrambling and robbing from house to house- and Baliquis watched as he landed on the house to catch the rascal. He landed on a house as if he had been training all his fucking life- and he continued to bounce from house to house. She did notice that he waited until the group caught up to wherever he had gone before he just kind of dropped down, and the thief- or perhaps a half-wit accomplice-  smacked into him. The thief fell to the ground, and in their bewildered and abrupt daze, bags and presents tumbled out and scattered onto the snow-covered ground before the silver man was upon the thief, who tried to struggle and squirm their way to freedom to no avail.” If I were you, thief, I would stop trying to wiggle free, or I might press wrong and remove your ability to walk ever again from your body. Why were you stealing from these people?” The new companion asked as he pressed down into the thief to sandwich him between his body and the ground. The silver-haired man gave paused as if to let them ask their questions- but afterward, since the man was detained, he got up and started picking up the presents and toys.

Baliquis noticed the partially horned man return to their group, “There is a person that is stuck out among the blizzard that is roaring towards this town… I would like to ask for your assistance in retrieving him before he is past the point of no return,” He voiced, and she blinked in surprise. This land was full of such wonders and such…similar situations. She could have sworn she had just helped someone else find their missing husband with a red-haired man.

“It’s always something here, isn’t it?” Remika questioned, but Baliquis smirked,

“Of course,” Baliquis said to show that she would be participating in retrieving the aforementioned lost beau.

“Let us prepare for our mission then.” Remika would state, nodding, “If we are required to travel into the blizzard we should know of what is in the surrounding area, should we need to seek shelter of any kind.” Remika stated, placing her thumb and index finger on her chin as she seemed to think or attempt to think. Not that Baliquis meant to belittle her by insinuating that she couldn’t think, but Baliquis thought the action was cute. There it went again, her mind labeling something Remika did as ‘cute’; how positively rude of Baliquis to think like this. Oh well. The black-haired woman glanced around before she saw someone and walked off, but Baliquis stayed. Why? Pure selfishness so she could watch Remika walk away.

“Lust is a sin,” that dark voice arose, and she mentally chided it to shut the fuck up. Bali would have to care about being virtuous first if she wanted to care about what was and was not sinning. Eventually, the woman returned to the group, informing them of the secondary task and the line of houses they could use for the cover should they need it, as well as the group of robbers. “I think we can certainly manage these tasks together, even if it seems a lot; we could even split up to accomplish them if we choose to… But I think it be smarter for us to stay together, especially with the blizzard coming.” Remika noted before looking at the others, “Within the right area,” Remika pulled open the map, as she kneeled down with her fingers brushing the paper, and pointing out houses on the map the robber was suspected of burglarizing next, “If we follow the larger round about to bring us here, we have a decent chance of running into the missing husband… At least I hope.” She seemed to hesitate. Why? Baliquis thought about and thought maybe…perhaps she was hesitating because the reality of a missing husband and home robberies right before a blizzard was about to touch down was maybe too much of a coincidence. Once they all agreed, Remika headed towards the restricted barrier against the impending blizzard area. Bali followed closely behind just in case and didn’t spare any thought to the well-meaning villagers and townspeople or their warnings. They would be fine, Baliquis was sure, or Remika would not have strode forward with such steadfast confidence. As they walked forward and down the road towards their destination, where its pavement ended, they reached another guard, the final threshold between safety and the wilderness. He seemed ragged, but Remika spoke up before he could offer- anything, in fact, “Your Captain sent us. You need to go and report that we’ve made it and sent you off.” Remika stated as she passed by him, he went to go and argue with her, but their eyes met, and he seemed to hesitate before he nodded and gave up before making his way to the town behind them. ‘How terrifying’ was the thought Baliquis was meant to have and feel fear, but when she thought it, Baliquis smiled to herself. Then it happened.

Baliquis watched Remika as her eyes shut for the first time. As she stretched her arms out wide, slowly releasing her chakra from her body, the snow white chakra that radiated off of her would quickly begin to seep downwards, spreading out like flakes of snow themselves. What a beautiful display. Bali wondered inwardly what her own chakra looked like and if it could ever be this beautiful, but she doubted it; if it was meant to be any reflection of herself, then indeed, her chakra could never have a pure color like Remika’s white chakra. Oh well, She would live. Either way, Baliquis waited patiently while she glanced at the other companions to see if they would move and try to stop her; so that the Hozuki could step in and ensure whatever focus Remika had dedicated to this action or jutsu remained unbroken until she broke it herself. However, it ended soon enough with Remika speaking. “This way...” She would mutter, heading towards the left.

A soft sigh, as the snow crunched under neither of the feet of the group, Remika moved swiftly, making sure to stay within a seeable distance for those behind her, and Baliquis couldn’t help but think about how considerate that was of her. Giving them a chance to keep up with her certainly was kinder than Baliquis probably was; she would have to take a mental note to work on that more virtuous task. While Bali followed Remika with seemingly blind devotion as she tried to stay close to her and not be lost in the snow, the blizzard clearly made that problematic; the woman spoke up, “We’re getting close... I suspect the building and the missing husband are tied together.” She would state, the wind around them whipped against bodies harsher than before; the low visibility was more than apparent when Remika came to a complete halt, crouching down. Once again, Bali crouched next to her because she clearly couldn’t think for herself and looked around, but with the snow, she could make out only the occasional flicker of a house’s outline or roof. How fucking troublesome. Remika put her hands in the snow before seeming to focus on whatever she was doing, and once more, Bali practiced patience by waiting. When he was finished, Remika addressed the group, “Listen here.” Remika announced as she turned back and began filling them in on what she had sensed, the number of people, the path they would need to take, and the unknown pieces she couldn’t give them.

“I know it doesn’t sound like a simple mission... At least not anymore. But I’m almost positive that one of those bodies inside of the building is the missing husband. I’m also positive the boss of this whole operation is inside of there as well. I don’t think this is a hit house... I think the police had it wrong... I think this is their base.” Remika said, and then she turned to look towards where Bali had seen flickers of a housing outline, “And if you all are ready.. Or if you want to plan for something... Let us do it now... Otherwise... Let us begin.” Remika stated, and despite the impromptu-ness of it, Baliquis felt quite inspired to do what she needed when it came to it, but she would rather those around her make the first moves.

After all, it would be better if they considered her a meek and mindless lamp rather than a wolf wearing its skin and pretending to be such, now wouldn’t it? She couldn’t be taking the chances of blowing her cover now.

Let us Dance in the Moon Light - Page 2 Empty Re: Let us Dance in the Moon Light

Sat Feb 11, 2023 4:32 pm
It was good to see that he was with some dependable Kunoichi, at least of the two that he had been able to see in action. He had a pretty good grasp on the Amazon and the female with porcelain skin yet the one with odd hair still seemed as if they had not done anything to contribute or at least from his eyes. The Elder Dragon had been confused on the aspect, but they were not of his village and certainly not of his ilk. Whatever they had going on mentally had been their battle and their battle alone. For now however he would remain silent as he had just came back over from delivering the toy to the family. They were ecstatic that their holiday would once again be a reality and all of the kids would be happy. It was a sight that had brought a familiar, yet old memory to the forefront. Currently he had been with the group once more and regaled them with the news that someone had been stuck in the snowstorm. A brief exchange between Remika and Bali confirmed his original thought that the two had been here before which is where they had likely met. He did not want to smile at the two way dialogue but he did add something to it," It would seem almost as if you two had did this before or something along those lines. Either way let us be quick to retrieve the wayward soul before he turns into a popsicle in this weather," it was a very common result to being lost in weather like this, more so for those who were incapable of warming themselves. Seeing as Remika had been the de-facto leader of the group as no one else had stepped up to take the mantle, Iscarot would follow behind the group in silence until they had reached their starting point. It donned on him of course that this would be an arduous task on the mere mention that they did not have a map to actually show them the lay of the land.

While they would be in the thick of a blizzard, mapping out a path or even knowing where certain landmarks would help the quartet find out the possible areas where the husband could be. Such a frustrating aspect would not deter Iscarot but as he stood there thinking of what they could do, Remika came back with a map and an additional request from someone. Seeing as she had agreed, he would not raise a voice to complain about it but now it came time to plan. Looking over the map while she held it within her hands he would take note of key points and landmarks that were of any significance for this endeavor. Seeing that it was a massive expanse of trees and snow surrounded by some buildings speckled here and there. When she went over their secondary objective which had been to stop a bunch of robbers, he seriously pondered on the security of this land and why they did not deal with any of this or put in preventative methods to deter robbers. Not being any sort of Shinobi village it made sense because maybe this didn't happen every winter, but if it did this would be annoying to consistently deal with . Burn it all he thought. After their planning the group would head out toward the end of the road, on the way to find not only the husband but the culprits responsible for the thefts in the outlier houses. One thing about this is that this type of weather did not bother him, rather due to his newfound resilience, it was not a problem. Regulating the pure flame within him thanks to the Red Oni style, he regulated his bodies heat enough to keep him warm despite the frigid conditions. He may have rubbed his hands together once or twice to keep an appearance, but inwardly and outwardly he was as toasty as a fire. His eyes however were no good in this kind of weather, so he stayed close to the group following Remika's direction as she had apparently had a keen sense of direction in the snow.

Many things had come to mind about the identity of the female for there had been many things that had struck him as odd, not in a bad way of course. Her demeanor was different from the two other women. The taller woman had held herself high, but the way Remika walked and talked had an air of regal. Royalty. Being from a land where they had Kings, Queens and so on he picked up quite quickly on those traits but he would silence himself in bringing up anything of the sort in the event that it was something she didn't want out in the open. He had not been keeping track in how long they had been walking throughout this frozen expanse, but they had came to a stop at a singular male that had been out here. A watcher of some sort'? He didn't know how Remika could discern him in this kind of climate, but it was just a testament to her unique skills. When she dismissed the male to head back to the town to report in and he had argued against it, Iscarot would place a had on the males right shoulder and pressed ever so slightly. Even with the slight amount of pressure the power of the Ushitora would still be felt as she smiled," She is telling you this for your own good. Go now or you'll not make it home Ser," the strength alone kept him in check and the look was what sold him. The male nodded and after the hand was removed he would scamper off into the direction of the town. With that out of the way he would turn back to the group and catch up as they were not that far ahead and returned to his position. As they reared closer, it would come apparent to him at least something was about to go down. Once they had stopped and Remika had caught them up on the current situation and what could come of going into the tower here, Iscarot thought of something. If they had all scaled the tower and went in that way, most of the bandits would be on the lower floors and would ascend upwards.

However, if one of them went through the front door to attract attention while the others dealt with the boss, numbers would be scattered and things would go a lot less chaotic at least for them. A plan was needed and while his wasn't a top tier motion it would provide the best chance of success. Raising his hand slightly he would point toward the direction of the front door," Speaking from personal experience if this is a multi tiered construct most of the lower floors will be riddled with guards with the big boss and the hostage at the top, the third floor as you've described it correct? What if one went in through the front scrambling the base from up to the second at least making them come down while the other three dealt with the boss and saving our hostage? It would make sense as they would not expect this kind of reaction and it thins numbers," he would pause for a moment as he allowed the words to be thought through. Taking in a deep breath he would once again continue," Remika if you and the others climb the tower i can distract them and corral them in on the 1st floor. It may not appear as much but taking on large groups is a skillset I am very proficient in and my fighting style would likely put you all in harms way if we have a large scale group fight on the third floor. This has the greatest rate of success and minimizes damages on our part at least," if there were no objections of course he would remove the white haori from his form revealing the black vest like shirt underneath. While the male himself had looked slender, after removal the haori those lean like muscles would be revealed to the world as he took out the small knife the old man had given him prior to heading out.

He'd give the three a good head start to climb the wall before he skillfully pulled out the knife and thrusted forward with immense force causing a spark to ignite before flames barreled against the front door and ripped it asunder, catching anyone behind or around the initial area to catch aflame. Walking into the door frame unscathed he would smile and begin to spin the knife within his hands," As they say Santa is here to deliver punishment... Come now ye bad children and receive your coal," was that the right phrase? Either way those that were on the floor that were knocked on their ass due to the explosion would stand up and try to rally themselves as the storming of foot steps would echo through the halls as the Raging Oni began his descent. Taking up a fencing stance he would begin to take down each bandit one by one, his footsteps mimicking dancing as he sidestepped oncoming blades. With one precise block he would knock a sword from the clutches of a nearby bandit and catch it in his right hand as he just sheathed the knife on his left. Testing the weight of the blade for a second as he took small steps back blocking he would smile as he nodded," Alright this is such a nice weapon to be in the hand of scoundrels. Now let our dance commence," and as he got into the swing of things, metal and flame would sing on the first floor as he clawed his way though the opposition to make his way to the third floor while hopefully the ladies were dealing with the boss. As he made his way up the stairs cleaving through the bandits he would stop on the second floor where the bulk of the forces were. Stained in the blood of their friends and coworkers he would pick up a second sword and steady himself as he pushed his hair upward to reveal the horns and smiled," I did not think I would get to work out today...show me a good time," he would shout at the group before charging at them. With each swing of the blade he would take one out as he blocked another blade and slid underneath its owner, taking out a leg or their arm before spinning through through the air and ground like a gyro blade.

Let us Dance in the Moon Light - Page 2 Empty Re: Let us Dance in the Moon Light

Sun Feb 12, 2023 7:14 pm
Rin observed the battle as it raged, watching with they eyes of one who had know war, not just from the trenches filled with blood, nor just from the position of one who stood in the commander's tent sending men to their death for the sake of numbers on a page. No whilst she had experienced war in both those positions, she was first and foremost one who's experience lay in logistics, in silent observation, after all that was what bandits preyed upon, and so she watched and observed the battle. There was little in the way of logistics to concern her of course, the 'amunition' was plentiful after all, scattered across the ground as it was, the combat so short and small that food and clothing was unimportant, and yet old habits die hard. She silently observed the ogre of a man grinning with joy as he lost himself to the combat, observed his hair fluttering in the wind and, to her surprise glimpsed the shorn down horns that peaked out of the man's hairline. That was something that piqued her interest, was it a technique of some kind? A sideffect of some experiment? Or was it simply a sign of some bloodline she had not yet encountered. The rivers of fate flowed strangely within the shinobi world after all, clans ebbbed and flowed, some rushing into notoriety for a few years only to become all but extinct before resurfacing years, decades or even centuries later. Regardless of what the cause was it was of enough interest that she made a mental note to pay more attention to the man even as the fight itself began to slow, the children being called away by their various caregivers.

Striding up to join the stranger amongst Remika and Balquis she overheard him paying the terrifying woman a compliment, a well deserved one, though one she still read with a hint of subsequience tinging his tone. "I must commend you on your throwing arm, you have quite the aim milady" the man said and Rin saw a chance to pick up at least a tidbit of information about the man. "You're not such a bad shot yourself from what i saw Mr..." she paused intending to leave the implicit question hanging in the air. It might have been noticed by the man, it might not but before she could leave the question hanging for long enough to continue her thought they were all interrupted by a cry coming from the distance.

Watching the rest of the group rush off in their own ways Rin gave a half hearted shrug before making her own way towards the disturbance, setting a reasonable albeit not blistering pace. She had noticed of late within this town that no matter how long it took for visitors to arrive to the scene no one seemed to actually be hurt by the delay. As if the townh itself was waiting for visitors to arrive before these events actually began to transpire. She had no proof of it yet of course, but she had seen it happen enough now that she was more than comfortable taking her time to show up to aid whatever had happened this time.

When she finaly arrived at the scene the rest of the group had already arrived at the scene as yet another pair of children seemed to have found themselves stuck to a pole, Remika was of course standing to the side observing in the calm and dignified manner that she had so consistently projected whilst the man who Rin had, at first, thought might be of interest was, instead of helping with the two children, having a conversation with an older man off to the side. She wasn't particularly interested in the man though she did catch a hint of the discussion that left her under the impression the two were simply discussing whittling. Balquis thankfully had taken charge of the situation. Just as before she stepped up to Remika, about to make a comment about the oddity of this situation repeating itself yet again despite the fact that the children, who had grown up in this enviroment, suposedly knowing better by this point. Yet again Rin watched what the woman did with interest, observing as she placed her hand on the pole, the flesh seeming to bubble and writhe slightly before turning to water, the liquid rolling down the pole and absorbing the frigid temperature from the pole enough that the children's tongues simply slipped right off. Rin had to suppress an impressed whistle, one that was tinged with a hint of surprise at the lack of the behemoth of a man's interest in the events as he continued his discussion with the older gentleman. Glancing over she saw that the man had just passed over his knife to the giant a moment before and the two were now standing there looking... at least to her eyes, rather confused. It was an oddity and one that she might have followed up on if it was not for yet another interuption.

With her gaze temporarily trained upon the nameless giant she didn't see what was going on behind her, at least not physically, and yet she felt something from Remika. Seeing the giant of a man start to head back towards them Rin saw Remika and Balquis exchanging a short array of words. She only caught a hint of the exchange and gave one of them a quick, slightly confused look as if to inquire as to the content of their little comunication. She felt the brute coming to stand behind her for a moment, the hairs on the back of her neck standing on end as he seemed to loom right over her, and then rather than join in he seemed to turn and wander off again; another oddity from the strange man, though as she trained her senses behind her she did overhear a snippet of conversation between him and what sounded to be a mother and her young child dissapointed over a toy. Perhaps she had been too harsh on him earlier, even if he was a little odd he obviously cared about others, striking a conversation up with a lonely old man and then, from what she could tell, assisting a mother and her tantrum prone child. She didn't respect the man's softness of course, that was far from her nature and after everything she had experienced she knew it would likely get the man killed one day. Her mind was already filing it away as an obvious weakness to be used if she ever found herself in conflict with the stranger, but even without respecting his actions she could acknowledge the well intentioned choices behind those actions.

Regardless of what the giant was doing she was more interested in what the pair of women next to her were doing, balquis was the closest thing she had to a link to the shadow of death that hung over her every move, and Remika was something unfathomable, a power well beyond what anyone else here could even begin to imagine, and one that, whilst she could not even begin to rival the sage of endless night, was undeniably on the level of a demi-god. Seeming to act with a prenatural speed the pair darted off towards one of the nearby buildings. Acting more on instinct than any consious decision Rin ran along with them, trying to work out what she had missed that prompted such a reaction from the pair, and yet before she could ask the question or gather information on where they were headding her spiritual senses screamed at her of a threat approaching from behind her. Taking a darting step to the side even as she tried to keep pace she felt the wind blow past her, whipping her hair and the empty sleve on the side of her body forward, as the giant flew past them. That wasn't a metaphor but rather he quite literally flew, soaring through the air a few feet above the ground for a short while as he sped out infront of the rest of their little group before coming to land on a nearby building's roof a few feet away from the rest of them. Making a mental note of the man's location Rin began to scan the direction they were headding in.

There, in one of the nearby buildings she saw a man quickly darting out one of the doors, a bag of what could only be described as loot, laid accross his back, seeing the oncoming group the man seemed to physically jump for a moment, letting out a panicked squeak as he darted into another house, the sounds of a panicked individual rushing through a cluttered building radiating out as the group quickly approached. The excecution of teamwork was quite masterful, Rin herself barely had to do anything, letting out a low whistle infused with just a touch of her chakra to distract the man she watched as he turned his head back to look at the rest of them all, desperation and fear in his eyes. Which was of course his downfall, at that exact moment the ogre lept from his position on a nearby building, coming to land right infront of the man with a loud thud. The ogre was a hulking brute of a man encased in muscle like a suit of armor, so of course when the thief barreled into him he was knocked back, shaking his head and looking well and truely dazed, the ogre seeimingly unphased by having a full grown man barrel right into him. Meanwhile the Aristocrat lunged forward, though in all honesty calling the maneuver she excecuted a lunge was doing it a diservice. The woman quite literally flowed forwards, not a single effort wasted as she drifted past the dazed man, Rin saw the woman's hand flash out in a blaze of motion almost too fast to see, and for a moment Rin thought she had missed her target before she managed to grab the thief's collar, taking advantage of the momentum he had built up staggering back from his impact to flip the man over in a maneuver that reminded Rin of a fighting style she had once seen. Though she couldn't place the name she remembered enough to recal the style itself was designed to redirect your opponent's mommentum, turning it against them, exactly like the scarlet clad woman had. Rin made a mental note to ask her about it when they next got a chance, though she wasn't one for close quarters combat herself, at least not since loosing her arm to The Rot that dwelled within the sands.

Shaking her head and snapping herself out of the dark memories before they could take hold of her again Rin turned her mind back to the situation at hand, she watched as balquis and Remika began interogating the thief, wondering if she should speak up and point out that she can just compell the truth out of the man, but something about how the two handled the man told her they weren't just trying to get the information out of him, it felt like they were taking out their repressed frustration on the man. Rin could relate, she had bottled up her own anger and fury for so long that at times it was prone to leak out in small acts of cruelty, though she had long ago learnt to chanel that cruelty into something at least tangentally useful. She was about to step forward and end the poor man's misery before he started loosing fingers when her spiritual senses alerted her to danger. A portal seemed to open up underneath her and she fell through into a vaugely familiar room. A room where once again she saw a candy cane four poster bed housing a withered old man. He looked healthier now than when she had last seen him, and yet she could still tell he was far from healed from whatever poison had claimed him. Standing with a grunt and dusting herself off she glowered at the old man. "Well that was uncalled for, you could have just sent another of your elves, what is it you want this time?" She asked, not bothering to hide the scowl of disdain as she looked upon the suposedly god like figure before her. Unsurprisingly he wanted her to, yet again, do his job for him. With a reluctant sigh Rin nodded her head, "well go on then, open a portal and have your elves grab me the presents." she said before 'helping the old man'
