The Escape Plan

Mission:

Amikiri stirred from his sleep. Blinking the remaining sleep out of his eyes, he pushed the dark covers aside and sat on the edge of the bed. With his head in his hands, he sat there in silence. The dark haired Hyuuga had felt troubled recently. Amikiri had never been this lonely in his entire life. In the past he had always had his family and their, while there was a bit of distance between them, neighbors. Additionally, Amikiri had always found solace in the nature and world around him. It was something truly beautiful and it was what he missed the most during his time in the city.

The Hyuuga got up. Even if he didn’t enjoy his time here, he still had to work to support his family and therefore he would have to eat. Though, sometimes the Hyuuga did ask why. His family was doing alright before he started working as a shinobi. Sure, they weren’t living the life of luxury but they weren’t poor. Amikiri had always intended this shinobi job as a way to help them live more comfortably, but in his time away, Amikiri had been living life very uncomfortably.

Amikiri started by walking to the door of his apartment and looking for mail. Sometimes the letters were slid under his door, sometimes they were slid through the mail slit. Amikiri saw a letter sitting there. He grabbed it and, upon turning it over, saw a wax seal. Touching the wax, it felt warm, clearly it was relatively fresh. He activated his Byakugan in an attempt to read the letter but that was to no avail as there was some sort of fuinjutsu seal preventing Amikiri from seeing the contents of the letter.

The wax seal did not want to seem to budge, so the Hyuuga took a kunai. He focused chakra into the blade, causing the blade to gain a blue hue. Making a quick slash across the wax, Amikiri was now able to open the letter. He studied the contents of the letter carefully.

If your name is not Amikiri Guhin, stop reading this letter immediately.

Amikiri Guhin, you have been given a top-secret mission. This mission is of the rank of D and must be completed as soon as possible and as stealthily as possible. No one is to know of this mission other than you.

In one of Hoshigakure’s strongest religious and anti-shinobi groups, The Primeval Few, a member has recently become scared for his life. After secretly reporting this information to the Hogokage, you have been assigned to extract him from this position. All we know is the location of the entrance of their hideout. They are currently using a kitchen in the apartment building at twenty three forty two on Rosalia Lane. Cult members enter disguised as chefs for the restaurant.

Do not let anyone know you are there or who you are. Extract the target in a way where it looks like they escaped naturally. Deliver your target to the Gazebo within the Water Gardens. Below is a photo attached of your target.

Remember, your stealth is of the utmost importance. Do not let yourself or your target become compromised.

After Amikiri read this letter, he got ready for the mission. He would not be taking his armor and great spear with him, as they would be too noticeable and not let him blend in. Additionally, his normal outfit wouldn’t work. Being dressed in all black compared to a group of people dressed in white chef’s outfits would simply not work. The Hyuga changed into a neutral set of light gray clothes. It would stop him from someone noticing bright white clothes in other locations, but allow him to pass off as simply having a dirty uniform. He also wore a white ball cap. Most people wouldn’t notice it, but with the brim shadowing his eyes, he could hide his Byakugan.

The Hyuuga made his way downtown, walking by the restaurant in question. Using his Byakugan, he scanned the interior of the restaurant. The Hyuuga noticed something strange. There were two separate doorways entering the kitchen, but one of them didn’t lead to the kitchen. It quickly turned into a staircase downward, leading to an underground compound. This compound went deep and stretched wide, even going under the road where the dark haired Hyuuga stood.

Amikiri walked over to a newspaper stand, buying one to disguise his next plan. He sat down at a bench, pretending to read his newspaper. Instead he was using his Byakugan to scan the stronghold beneath him, looking for every potential entrance and exit. The cult had several hidden entrances to the sewers, which would allow for easy access to the street if needed. However, due to some shit caked on the walls of the sewers, they were quite difficult to find or access, unless you were exiting from the stronghold into the sewers. There was also a long tunnel that stretched for miles, with not even his long range Byakugan being able to see to the end of it. He also noticed his target, sweeping the floors in one section of the building. Looking at the network of pipes and the man's movement patterns, Amikiri should be able to intersect him at the perfect time.

Amikiri started formulating a plan. He noticed a construction company’s headquarters were a block or so down from where he was sitting. Walking through the alley next to it and entering through the side, he stole a construction vest and a hardhat. The Hyuuga left a small amount of ryo there for what he assumed was a fair compensation. Normally he wouldn’t resort to theft, but the urgency of this mission required it. Additionally he couldn’t take it and declare it was needed for a mission to the business, because this cult might have spies surveilling the nearby area to their entrances.

Putting on his new disguise, Amikiri found a man hole in the street. He popped it open, went inside, and slid the cover back on. The Hyuuga descended the ladder before making his way into the sewers. He had to pause for a moment to process the disgusting smell surrounding him.

Using his Byakugan to locate one of the hidden sewer hatches, Amikiri made his way to it. Pulling out a Universal Projectile, he cut through the shit and the steel. He made sure to make the cut rough, as if there was great difficulty as if he was using an improvised tool to do the job. He moved the rough circle of steel to the side and made his way into a small tunnel. It was so cramped that the Hyuuga had to crawl through it. He made his way to the end of the pipe and, making sure the area was clear, he performed the difficult part of his operation. Unfortunately this narrow tunnel went under the hallway where the man was working, so Amikiri would have to cut through upwards of a foot of steel and rock if he wanted to get through. However, he had a different idea. Using the Flowing Passage technique, the damaging area of his Universal Projectile expanded greatly. He cut through the rock, but unfortunately this was a very clean cut. A topic the Hyuuga would have to resolve later. He popped out of the hole and when the man looked startled, Amikiri quickly made a whispering noise. Using a couple hand signs, the Hyuuga directed the man to go through the hole he created and out the tunnel, into the sewer.

Amikiri took the man’s janitor cart and started putting together his plan. Taking some paper and a pencil he carried with him, he made a rough map of this section of the complex and made a marking where the hole Amikiri made was, in an attempt to make this look preplanned. Then, he took a bucket from the cart and poured a large amount of cleaning supplies into it, randomly mixing them. Hopefully this would fool any cult members into thinking that this man made a mix of chemicals that ate through the floor, which was now inactive.

The Hyuuga then placed an explosive tag in the center of his hole and activated its fuse. He quickly crawled up the tunnel and, after handing the fugitive his hardhat, the two exited the man hole. A few seconds later, Amikiri’s Byakugan saw his explosive tag go off. From up here above the ground, no one heard it thanks to the large quantities of rock between beneath the ground and above the ground. However, Amikiri saw some cult members rush to the location and for that reason, Amikiri hurried the man along, trying to quickly get him to the Gazebo while still blending in with the crowd. Eventually, Amikiri dropped the man off at the Gazebo and, seeing another shinobi take him away, the Hyuuga left to go home after a hard day of work.
