Dreams and Nightmares: Act One
Shinobis and citizens alike have witnessed as one night, the dreams and nightmares of their slumber began to leak into the world around them. Villages and settlements alike have found random dreams seeping into the world around them. As the night of Hallow's Eve approached quickly, multiple individuals with extensive shinobi arts are now looking to help ease the issues as the discovery of what is to come will slowly reveal itself. Many citizens have started to avoid sleeping, hoping it will stop whatever is happening to the world. Will you be able to help figure out the puzzle to the issues being encountered, or will you witness the Land of Dreams and Nightmares become overlayed into the world?
Welcome to Act One of the 'Dream and Nightmares' event. This event will take place as a two-part event. The runtime of the event as a whole will take up to 42 days (2, 3-week time frames). Act One and Act Two will operate under the same Event Shop but will also have a Site-Wide reward to be claimed on any character that completes at least one Arc Finale Mission. This will not extend to LCs but can be given to LCs by the character they were created by. As part of the premise and encouragement of the event, cooperative missions will work towards the Site-Wide reward. As groups complete Event Arc-Missions, the WC Requirement for those missions will be towards milestone markers that will determine part of the rewards given to qualifying players. Act One will contribute to one aspect, and Act Two will contribute to the other aspect.
Pumpkin Spiced Latte
Act 1, Oct 16th, 12:00 AM through Nov 5th 11:59 PM
- 1:All standard rules apply to this event.
- 2: All event threads must be completed by the end of the designated time frame for Act One and Act Two. Threads not completed will have till the start of Act Two, Nov 13th at 12:00 AM, to post and wrap up. This is referred to as the grace period. Once the window is up, no event missions can be completed. WC can be claimed from these threads post that time frame, but all mission claims must be completed by the end of the grace period.
- 3: Event currency, Dream Tokens, is the currency for both Act One and Act Two of this event. All event purchases will be made on this thread using the associated template. This currency is not transferable and should be tracked by the players and verifiable by staff. Purchases will be limited per character/living clones for higher-end items.
- 4: As part of the event, there is a joint effort reward for participation. To qualify for this reward, a player must complete the Finale Arc Mission and receive a 'Dream Waiver' for Act 1 or 2. Players can have a max of two Dream Waivers and will be rewarded as such, which will be outlined later. Having a second Dream Waiver will have a unique function revealed in Act 2. You can only receive a Dream Waiver once per Act.
- 5: As a two-part event coinciding with a primary holiday season, there will be a cumulative WC Tracker based on completion of the Arc Finale when completed by two or more people for Act 1 and Act 2. Completion and reaching certain Milestones based on the WC will result in site-wide rewards for everyone with a Dream Waiver in their possession. The WC being tracked will be based on the Arc Finale's WC Requirement. 2 Players completing it together will net 10k WC to the tracker, three characters will provide 15k, and four characters 20k. To keep this social, LCs participating can claim the mission rewards for the Arc Finale but will not add their completion WC to the tracker. Thus, if a person with 2 LCs goes on the Arc Finale Mission with them and one other person, upon completion, 10k WC will be counted for the tracker. The tracker will be updated upon approval of the Arc Finale thread being approved and verified. Characters who complete the Arc Finale a second time will contribute half the WC to the tracker.

Each character or living clone can grab up a limited item up to 3 times. Lastly, restricted items are limited to one per character . As you delve deeper into the spectral narrative, collecting each mission's unique reward, you'll be granted the coveted "Dream Waiver." This mystical item bestows upon you the ability to unlock a final, nightmarish mission, where the most coveted secrets of the night will be unveiled. Mission Name: Tear in the Fabric

Task: After waking up one night, you realize that your dream of an assortment of food was on your table when you went to your kitchen. Other small things have been ever so slightly off around the village, such as a little girl getting a larger stuffed animal that her parents didn't purchase nor any shop could produce. Other issues, such as the sudden appearance of creatures out of a kid's nightmare, have also shown up. Help figure out what's happening and help clean up some of the more minor pests starting to appear out of nowhere.

Mission Name: Questioning Reality

Task: A few days have passed since the initial shift of dreams becoming part of and entering our world. The issue lies in the children who have started having wild imaginations. There has been a public service announcement about trying to remain calm and not to dream wild dreams until a solution is found to the ongoing problem. The biggest concern is that one kid has dreamed himself into a fortress of some kind, declaring himself the "Dream King." This request is from his parents to get him out of his weird dream, and he hopes to snap back his understanding of what is happening. The request is not to be too hard on him as he is their only child and would be a strong shinobi candidate at the ripe age of 6.

Mission Name: Formation of Rifts

Challenges: Arc
Task: Sensory shinobi within the area have localized an anomaly and have requested assistance in an early investigation of the potential sealing of the anomaly. There are concerns about what could be the root cause, but many believe that the weirdness of dreams gaining a degree of creation in our world is connected to this anomaly. Speculation is that it's a rift or a gate of some kind, but others indicate it is possibly an entity that someone with a wild imagination dreamed up and is now creating problems within the Land. Help sort out what is happening and help contain, seal, and do whatever is necessary to lock down what is happening.

Mission Name: Nightmares Given Life

Challenges: Arc
Task: The anomaly that was investigated previously has been taken care of, but now a more significant problem has arisen. At this point, the leadership nearby has designated this a global concern as multiple reports from across the lands have indicated that not just your village has suffered the issues that have been arising. The most significant concern is a small rift that has begun to open above the Land of Hotsprings from current estimations. It is visible within all the land's skies, but it is uncertain if it's near there or not. It's far beyond the reach of shinobi arts, even with flight. Deal with the ongoing threat and see if you gain any insight into the nature of this sudden development.

Mission Name: Waking Demons

Mission Location: Anywhere
Challenges: Arc
Task: As more and more nightmarish creatures have taken form, many citizens have opted towards not sleeping to help avoid causing more issues. This has created a more significant problem as many who pass out result in issues spawning out of nowhere, resulting in sudden encounters of these dreamt creatures. Many have been told to be at ease as the local shinobi population has taken on more and more dangerous creatures. Help spread the word to rest and act as expected while doing so. Take care of any issues that arise, as even harmless dreams are now becoming monsters once they enter our reality. Be swift, as it seems the legend of the Land of Dreams has recently become the Land of Nightmares as it has been determined that there has been an attempt from beyond to overlay the land worldwide.

Mission Name: Into the Maw of Dreams and Nightmares

Challenges: Arc Finale
Task: With the revelation of the Land of Dreams being corrupted into the Land of Nightmares, it has been decided that shinobi would attempt to create a gateway into the Land through their dreams under supervision of others to make sure while they are attempting to enter the Land of Dreams. The rift initially assumed to have started over Hotsprings has grown to cover the Land of Rice, Frost, and parts of the Lands of Fire and Lightning. At this point, there is not much the shinobi of the world can do on this side of whatever is happening, and now it is time to take a more direct approach to combat whatever is on the offense. Be warned, as previous attempts to have shinobi enter through their dreams have resulted in monsters and creatures coming out of the aether attacking those around the sleeping individual. Be on guard as you attempt to enter the Land of Dreams and try not to cause problems. Alternatively, help solve any problems for those attempting to do so.

Mission Name: Formation of Rifts: Spawning Trouble

Mission Location: Anywhere
Challenges: N/A
Task: With what has been determined as 'Rifts' forming around villages and towns, it's up to the shinobi nearby to handle any issues that come from creatures that spawn from these Rifts or even attempt to close them. Watch out for sudden sleepers on the mission to ensure nothing more comes out of the rifts, or more rifts are made.
Must Possess a Dream Waiver
