Dreams and Nightmares: Act Two
Taking the fight to the Land of Nightmares, shinobis find themselves in an eerily familiar setting as the world shapes to familiar locations and mixed amalgamations of their past, present and possibly the future? Establish yourself and lock in your form within this supposed Dreamscape as the night of Hallow's Eve has passed and the monsters and creatures threaten to stay for good! Find unlikely allies in others who have found their way into the Land of Dreams to figure out what went wrong, who is causing this cataclysmic event and remedy the problem. Be careful as who knows what or who is lurking behind the imagery you see before you. Friends and foes alike are likely lurking about and with appearances not necessarily being truthful to who is under that mirage.
Welcome to Act Two of the 'Dream and Nightmares' event. This is the second half of the Dream and Nightmares Event! The Event Shop will remain the same but will also have a Site-Wide reward to be claimed on any character that completes at least one Arc Finale Mission. This will not extend to LCs but can be given to LCs by the character they were created by. As part of the premise and encouragement of the event, cooperative missions will work towards the Site-Wide reward. As groups complete Event Arc-Missions, the WC Requirement for those missions will be tracked towards milestone markers that will determine part of the rewards given to qualifying players. Act One contributed to the size of the dice roll, and Act Two will contribute to the number of dice being rolled!

- 1:All standard rules apply to this event.
- 2:Event Mission threads cannot be invaded and PvP within the threads will be voided.
- 3:Event Mission threads can be made up of groups from all over the world due to the nature of the story and must be within the appropriate forum for approval. If a thread has been created in the wrong location please inform staff to help relocate it.
- 4: All event threads must be completed by the end of the designated time frame for Act One and Act Two. Threads not completed will have till the a week after the end of Act Two, Dec 12th at 12:00 AM, to post and wrap up. This is referred to as the grace period. Once the runtime for the event has ended, no event missions can be started. WC and standard mission claims can be claimed from these threads post that time frame, but all mission claims involving event rewards must be completed by the end of the grace period.
- 5: Event currency, Dream Tokens, is the currency for both Act One and Act Two of this event. All event purchases will be made on this thread using the associated template. This currency is not transferable and should be tracked by the players and verifiable by staff. Purchases will be limited per character/living clones for higher-end items.
- 6: As part of the event, there is a joint effort reward for participation. To qualify for this reward, a player must complete the Finale Arc Mission and receive a 'Dream Waiver' for Act 1 or 2. Players can have a max of two Dream Waivers and will be rewarded as such, which will be outlined later. Having a second Dream Waiver will have a unique function revealed in Act 2. You can only receive a Dream Waiver once per Act.
- 7: As a two-part event coinciding with a primary holiday season, there will be a cumulative WC Tracker based on completion of the Arc Finale when completed by two or more people for Act 1 and Act 2. Completion and reaching certain Milestones based on the WC will result in site-wide rewards for everyone with a Dream Waiver in their possession. The WC being tracked will be based on the Arc Finale's WC Requirement. 2 Players completing it together will net 10k WC to the tracker, three characters will provide 15k, and four characters 20k. To keep this social, LCs participating can claim the mission rewards for the Arc Finale but will not add their completion WC to the tracker. Thus, if a person with 2 LCs goes on the Arc Finale Mission with them and one other person, upon completion, 10k WC will be counted for the tracker. The tracker will be updated upon approval of the Arc Finale thread being approved and verified. Characters who complete the Arc Finale a second time will contribute half the WC to the tracker. Backstory: One apothecarian wanted to blow something up, but upon crafting the bomb, they accidentally mixed up one of the regents required for a completely different one. Backstory: Said to have originated within Wind Country, by an unnamed kunoichi a couple thousand years ago. - Damage – As it’s name would suggest, this quality is the basic damage dealer; when combined in an alchemical creation, it will inflict a flat amount of damage upon a target. The amount in which they take is dependant upon the rank of the alchemical creation. When combined with an Elemental quality, it will give a specific kind of damage depending on the Element. This quality is compatible with ones of a different name, those being any of the Elemental qualities and the Resistance quality.
- Incapacitation – One of the most powerful qualities throughout the shinobi world, incapacitation follows a rather strict protocol, but is pretty much the same as seen in Genjutsu techniques. These are always limited to A/S Rank Alchemical Creations, and the numbers (like duration and # to beat for the stat check) are determined as per usual, by the rank of the creation made with this regent. An incapacitation effect will always come with a stat check to actually attempt to afflict a target with the effect. At S Rank, if it lasts for the full 3 post duration, the target will remain incapacitated for the rest of the thread. This quality is not compatible with ones of a different name.
- Petrification – One of the most powerful qualities throughout the shinobi world, petrification follows a rather strict protocol, but pretty much the same as seen in some techniques. These are always limited to A/S Rank Alchemical Creations, and the numbers (like duration and # to beat for the stat check) are determined as per usual, by the rank of the creation made with this regent. A petrification effect will always come with a stat check to actually attempt to afflict a target with the effect. Qualities:- Damage – As it’s name would suggest, this quality is the basic damage dealer; when combined in an alchemical creation, it will inflict a flat amount of damage upon a target. The amount in which they take is dependant upon the rank of the alchemical creation. When combined with an Elemental quality, it will give a specific kind of damage depending on the Element. This quality is compatible with ones of a different name, those being any of the Elemental qualities and the Resistance quality.
- Resistance – Gain a specific kind of resistance to ignore damage or enhance durability against a specific kind of damage (similar to elemental clashing +/-25 mechanics or how armor works); the amount resisted equal to the rank of of the creation made with this regent. Only compatible with qualities of a different name, those being any Element or Corrosion.
- Removal - As the quality’s name slightly implies, this one acts as the basic cure-all against different status effects that someone may be afflicted with; the number being determined by the rank of the creation made with this regent. This quality is unique where, although it doesn’t impose a Stat Check, it will still use the scaled number. This quality can be combined with others of a different name, those being any of the status effects made by combining 2 Elemental qualities.

Qualities:- Water - Used to make Status Effects when combined with another Elemental Quality, Bleeding if combined with DoT/Damage, Water Resistance if used with Resistance, or Water Aversion if combined with the Aversion quality. All Status Effects and Aversion use the scaling number from having to impose a stat check of some kind. Any numbers are determined as per usual, based on the rank of the creation made with this regent. Can be combined with qualities of a different name; Resistance, Aversion, DoT, Damage, and any other Element.
- Aversion – Opposite to Resistance, this has potential to temporarily increases a specific type of damage in which a target or make it less durable against attacks of said types; this specific number being determined by the rank of the creation made with this regent. This quality always imposes a Stat Check against a target’s Vigor, so this quality specifically would use a creation’s scaled power. This quality is only compatible with qualities of a different name, those being any Element and Corrosion.
- Corrosion - This quality, like it’s name, acts as a means to create alchemical creations which corrode equipment or protect against that very thing. When it’s just referring to corrosion as a whole, it will inflict a DoT against any item, weapon, armor, or puppet which comes into contact with corrosive surface; regardless of which type it’s referring to, any numbers in the creation are determined through the usual means. Those being dependant upon the rank of the creation made with this regent. This quality is compatible with ones of a different name, that one being Resistance.

Task: After entering the Land of Dreams you realize that the world around you is shaped from memories, thoughts, and desires. Establish yourself and give proper form to your body as your chakra will help keep you from floating deeper into the Dreamscape that exists beyond the understanding of our own reality.
As part of this event, players may choose to take the form of creatures, monsters, and themselves! Note that once an appearance has been selected, it cannot be changed for that thread. This will be monitored for abuse.

Mission Name: Exploring Your World

Mission Location: Land of Nightmares, Dreamscape Sea
Challenges: Arc
Task: As you explore your initial landing more properly, you find yourself staring at structures that you recognize except they are decrepit, altered, not the same. Figure out if any clues can be made to help figure out what is going on as you find wisps of what appears to be memories, dreams or desires in these spaces that give insight to the surroundings you find. For example, a small teddy bear in a room you wander into might reveal the little girl suffers from night terrors every night and holds onto the bear very tightly to be able to sleep. Be careful to keep your wits about and not get lost in others dreams.

Mission Name: Finding the Monsters

Mission Location: Land of Nightmares, Dreamscape Sea
Challenges: Arc
Task: Now that you have been able to navigate, you find those monsters that keep appearing in your own Land. Take them out before they make their way to a rift or worse, make more. They have a home field advantage so be wary that they might not be as easy as before to remedy or take down this go around. Stay vigilant as it appears from the edge of your vision, lurking in the corner of your sight, in the far off distance that a pair of eyes, dark as the abyss with a twinkle of light has been watching.

Mission Name: Giving Form to the Formless

Task: Remedying one problem seems to feed into more as you find yourself facing the formation of something that seems to give itself form. The eyes in the corner of your eyes is taking form and it appears to be of a shinobi. Friend or foe, the more monsters you defeat feeds into its growth and formation. Study as best you can as the further into this Dreamscape you go, the more you feel the pain that the creatures inflict upon your body. Its a war of attrition as you find yourself needing to beat waves of creatures and monsters from children's nightmares to proceed any further.

Mission Name: Nightmares Have Dreams

Task: A body has been given form and it matches yours! As you get closer to the edges of what you can fathom are the Land of Dreams, you see the world has been contorted and manipulated by something more sinister as the evils of the world also dream and the two lands, Dreams and Nightmares, have lost balance within this reality. The Land of Nightmares is seeked to overrun the Land of Dreams and plunge the world into utter chaos, allowing thoughts, desires, and the safety of sleep to feed into world as you know it and take it over. There's more to what you need to do but first you must defeat yourself in a world that is boundless and limitless to ones own imagination. How would you beat yourself when you fight the self you dream of becoming?

Mission Name: Nightmarish Avatar, Devourer of Dreams

Challenges: Arc Finale
Task: After defeating yourself, lick your wounds and fight on as the Land of Dreams rallies behind you to restore balance between the two. From monsters and creatures of children's dreams to aspirations and goals of rising shinobi fill the landscape, an all out war breaks out around the boundary between the two. Fight to reestablish the line and prevent the Avatar of an entity beyond comprehension seeks to grow beyond the confines of the domain he governs. The growth it has sought after is from feeding off of the wandering dreams that have more recently become nightmares. Failure here likely means the end of a waking world as its goal to plunge the world into a walking nightmare is nigh upon completion.

Mission Name: Closing the Rifts: Spawning Trouble
Rank: C
Mission Location: Land of Nightmares, Dreamscape Sea or Anywhere

Task: As you've defeated the Avatar of Nightmares and pushed him back into the corners of the Land of Nightmares, there still remains a problem of the rifts that had form and will likely continue to form post the fight. Be it in the Land of Dreams or back home, do what you can to wrap up and defeat and lingering issues.
