Averaging out
Thu Dec 28, 2023 2:59 pm
- Mission Details:
Mission Name: Expression and Construction
Rank: C
Mission Location: Kirikagure Village
Challenges: N/A
Task: During a nighttime hunter mission, Dracoso Hehane destroyed the bottom three floors of one of the financial district buildings in an attempt to weaken his foe. The explosion has left a crater, the top floor of the building sitting as a platform within it, and damage to the buildings on either side and behind it. While support beams have been put in place for the buildings which are still standing, some serious construction is needed.
That is where your mission begins.
Due to a recent effort to 'provide opportunities for the future growth of Kiri', you will be given free reign as to how you reconstruct this building. You may use any design or style that you see fit as long as it is appropriate for public viewing (no nudity, offensive language, or death threats) and you may make it up to 13 meters tall. Due to the buildings on either side being unused, you may expand out to as large as a 30x10 meter area to encompass all three building lots. Also, please make sure your building is not perishable. The last time that we did not account for this, we lost half a town.
Thank you and enjoy 'building the future!'
Word Count Requirement: 2000

Mission Name: Infiltration Training
Rank: C
Mission Location: Kirigakure Village
Challenges: N/A
Task: Any ninja from within the mist must learn how to silently enter any location, retrieve necessary information, silence targets, and/or leave a message as needed. For this mission, three separate training sites have been set up for you to choose from to infiltrate. You must choose a minimum of one site to complete this mission. The three sites are listed below with general details to help you choose which of the three you will engage with. You will be required to 1. make preparations and observances of the structure(s) and any occupants, 2. enter the building and engage in one or more acts, and 3. report back findings and any retrieved documentation if needed.
The three sites are:- A small shop set up just outside the edge of the village. There are no outward signs of what their business entails. Retrieve documentation to determine their activities and if they are a danger to Kirigakure.
- A campsite has been formed out in a field off the path from the village towards the ocean. Several tents have been set up and an unknown number of individuals are occupying them. Determine their intentions and, if hostile towards the general public, silently eliminate their leader.
- A small cave system has been found off towards the mountains. Several individuals have taken up residence there and have been stealing the local livestock from a nearby town. You are to determine their numbers, retrieve any livestock you can, and leave no evidence of your presence.

Challenges: --
Task: Hey, kid! You, there! You got a real voice for radio, don'tcha? Why don't you swing by the Stadium and commentate a match for the poor suckers listening from home? Give 'em the real play by play, make them feel like they're right there with you!
-Kirigakure R&D Radio Department
Word Count Requirement: 2,000
Reward: 4,000 Ryo / 20 AP
Character Requirements: Kirigakure shinobi
Character Exclusive: --
Mission Name: Family Visit
Rank: C
Mission Location: Kirigakure
Challenges: --
Task: It is understood by Kirigakure that civilian families and partners of its shinobi will often have access to information that they shouldn't. What many civilians of Kirigakure have experienced, but seldom speak of, is the visit by masked shinobi to let them know that since their loved one is part of Kirigakure's forces, the village has eyes on them. If any information leaks, they will know, and they know where you live. Your task is to carry out this 'talk'. Go let one of our forces' loved ones know that if they can't keep their mouth shut, they will be a training mission for the hunter-nin.
Though this mission will not always (or even often) be carried out by hunter-nin, you will always be loaned a hunter's mask and a cloak in order to present a front of anonymity.

It felt like a lot of time had passed since Mako had been walking through the halls of the Academy trying to learn and hurry through the requirements to become a full fledged shinobi of the village, but when he really looked back on the time and days that had passed he realized that it hadn’t been that long at all maybe a week or two but not anymore then that. So far since his graduation he had met with many shinobis of the village, a couple genin Kouji, Nemui, Heibon’na, A chuunin by the name of Izu and the former Mizukage Shiro. Some he liked others he simply didn’t have any real feelings for either way so overall it was a positive couple of weeks so far.
During that time he had met all those people he had also undergone quite a few missions, he was starting to get a slight reputation in the village enough to at least be recognized by the common folk though he felt that was more due to his appearance then what he had done so far but either way it was something compared to when he was just another person. On the subject of missions that was where he was heading off to now, he wanted to continue his upward momentum of knocking out these missions and was on his way to the building where he could select his tasks and get registered for them. The building was bustling as it typical was with other people from those leaving requests to fill the board with to those looking for jobs to do from that same board. Not wanting to take to long Mako just walked up grabbed a handful of slips and went to the register to get signed up for them. The worker there looked at the tall shark man looked at the tasks and did their job without any comment. Once he was all set on that front he was suppose to head to the designated meeting spot similar to like the last time he had done missions, once more there was to be a team of Shinobi for him to work with and given the level of the missions he wouldn’t be surprised if different people showed up for this one though maybe he would get lucky and work with the same team as last time.
Regardless the walk was calm and stress free with Mako enjoying the air and sunlight and getting to stretch his legs taking in the sights committing them to memory so he could eventually walk around the village with his eyes closed and not get lost. That was one of the negative about living on the edge of the village and not really exploring it growing up, you didn’t really know where everything exactly was beyond the major spots. Within time Mako arrived at the meeting spot and was the first to arrive once again, which wasn’t a surprise given how early he typically gets up and how much ground he can cover with his large strides now it was just a waiting game to see who would show up for this patch of missions.

There was always more to do in the village and it felt like there was some more work to do. Heibon’na was quite impressed with all that had occurred so far in her journey. She had recently graduated from the academy and met a few people of note already but none of the leadership of the village thus far. Which this did not surprise her honestly. She was not an exceptionally gifted shinobi with regard to some of the individuals she had met. She was not a gifted teenager in the village as compared to the others she had met around her age. No one skill of hers was a strong directive for her to work around and help out as a signature feature. That did not stop her from growing as a shinobi however. She still worked towards bettering the village and helping improve her own small fishing hamlet with her brothers and mother. Being the middle child of her family meant a lot of her capacity was that she just had to do her best and that was all that was really expected of her.
Upon the acceptance of more missions she noticed a familiar name and smiled as she went about her day to get to the intended meeting spot. Downing her old uniform still with her Kirigakure no Sato headband. She waves toward the giant genin in comparison to her. “Hoshigaki-San!” She said from several meters away attempting to catch up to Mako as he was just arriving to the meeting spot. “Good morning cousin! Nice bright and early for some more missions huh?” She asked breathing a little heavy from the quick rush she did to catch up. Although she did not need to run to catch up she felt it was a good show of faith and commitment and confidence in the method of approach that they had done already. Noticing that they were the only two present, she scratched the back of her head, “Guess we gotta wait Hoshigaki-San.” She chimed in as she stood next to the Kirigakuran Giant. Her stature was surprising to say the least against Mako’s in terms of overall outline and shadow. There likely was not much growth for the young Genin to grow and further but that was fine with her. She was quite the average looking girl and she accepted that fact quite some time ago.

As Izu prepared herself for another set on mission, she saw on the assignement that for once she wasnt teamed up with kouji or her usual team, Shiro and Kaimera. As she sighed, not sure on how she felt about this, Izu got out of her house, wearing her usual outfit with half her armory underneath, armed as usual to the teeth for missions. As she walked silently trough the village busy streets, Izu was harboring her usual cold face, unbothered and seemingly bored, her eyelids low and her hands in her pockets. She walked slowly toward the mission center. As she arrived, she saw Mako, the tall shark new genin, and Heibon'na, the recently graduated genin too. They both seemed to be waiting, so Izu took the guess she was paired with them. Great! At least it wasnt randoms or Heifu, the old crone who would chew her ear all day.
As she approached the duo, her steps completely silent, Izu arrived on their side, with only the sound of her voice breaking her cover and signaling her presence.
''Sup Mako!'' said Izu in a neutral tone, nodding to the tall shinobi before continuing. ''Sup Heibon'na. Congrats on the headband!'' Added Izu toward the young girl, doing the same nod of hello. As she sat and waited for the last member, Izu twirled around her hands with one of her special senbons, humming a tune in her bubble.

Water washed away the dirt on his hands, the fruits of his labor clearly visible. "Sosuke's Smithy" the young swordsman thought out loud, keeping the future dream in mind. Although the Hyuuga was a shinobi first, he'd still be a blacksmith at heart. Aware of the many duties and responsibilities a proud Kirigakure warrior held, Sosuke knew there were various tasks waiting to be carried out. Wasting little to no time, the martial artist prepared himself to head out and check what needed dealing with. Dressed in his typical outfit which consisted of a black shirt underneath a white haori, headband of the Mist around his waist, he finally set out.
Walking full of confidence, his right hand firmly placed on the katana on his right side, his left hand being kept free to allow for quick and fast handling, Sosuke made his way to the designated meeting spot. The young Hyuuga's experiences with previous missions blessed him with a certain sense of trust and belief that the present day would be no different and success would only be a matter of time. On the way over, the future blacksmith wondered if there would be any similarities between the upcoming tasks and the ones he carried out not that long ago, or if they required an entirely different approach.
Allowing his thoughts to wander, it eventually didn't take him that much time before arriving at the meeting spot. Doing so, the Hyuuga swordsman noticed three people had already gathered, confirming his own assumption that the missions were going to be carried out in a group of four. Standing out was a giant individual towering over the others, the man resembling a shark like creature if anything. Next to the massive specimen would be a girl he had yet to identify but probably hadn't met before. Lastly, the final member, himself not included, was a familiar face, one belonging to a kunoichi that joined him on a couple of missions before.
That being said, he approached the group and joined them at their location before greeting and introducing himself. "Sosuke Hyuuga, nice to meet you". Offering everyone a polite bow he then waited for anyone to speak up, whether to return the formalities or discuss the plan of action.

It looked like everyone had shown up, and weirdly it was full of a random assortment of people that Mako had meet in the past. There was heibon’na a girl that called everyone cousin and was just an overly friendly individual, the next to show up was Izu an aggressive shinobi who had dreams of becoming one of the Seven Swordsmen, and finally someone Mako who wasn’t overly familiar with but after a moment he remembered how he knew the guy. When Mako first started doing missions there were some cleaning ones that he had to complete and by the time he had arrived there to accomplish them this guy who introduced himself as Sosuke Hyuuga was there and had done an amazing job on the tasks given it was wild to see for the young Hoshigaki.
“Hello Cousin.” Mako replied back to the black haired bright girl adopting her greeting. “How are you doing today?” He would ask and nod to her observation that it was bright and early, “Yeah early bird gets the worm and all that, though I don’t think we will be waiting long for the others to show up. With the appearance of Izu it was only her voice that sounded her arrival which was peculiar to say the least it reminded Mako of the rumors of a skill that Kirigakure had and taught to certain individuals that allowed them to move with complete silence and even supposedly without leaving a trace behind them. “Welcome Izu.” Mako said as the woman sat down and started to hum a tune and twirl a senbon of some sort.
Now that the last person showed up the team was ready, “Welcome Sosuke, I believe we have done some missions together though we didn’t get a chance to introduce ourselves to one another.” Mako mentioned as he wore a smile on his face more then ready to get things started and underway. The mission they were doing were C-rank missions and it carried a bit more responsibility with them one that Mako was more then ready to undergo.
“So I’ll go over the missions that we have been tasked with real quick and then we can go ahead and get them going,” He would say as he pulled out the requests, “The first mission is a reconstruction request to rebuild a destroyed building that got decimated during a hunter mission by one of our own Comrades Dracoso. We have a lot of freedom with this one.” He finished once he was sure they had no questions he continued and would do so between each mission, “The next one is some training for infiltration, that is pretty self-explanatory, the following is a trip over to the Stadium to help out with a match that will be taking place later on. And finally the last one is to undertake the role of “hunter-nin” and give a talk to one of our comrade’s families the importance of silence.” He mentioned as he finished up his briefing.

As the two others arrived, Heibon’na would wave and return Sosuke’s bow. “Hello Cousins!” She greeted as she nodded to Izu’s commentary about her graduation. “Gotta catch up since I’m a tad older than average.” She expanded on before turning to the newest person in the group to her, Sosuke. “My name is Heibon’na Ogawa. It is very nice to meet you Hyuuga-San.” She said respectfully towards the other genin who arrived last. It was then that the group was well rounded for them to begin the debrief and the process for the mission to begin. With the overall skillset that they boasted as a squad of four including a chuunin in the mix, the tasks presented should be relatively easy and straight forward to complete in a timely manner.
Once more it appeared that Mako had been the first to snag the fishing line with the information for the missions for the day. Heibon’na could not help but consider how early the giant woke up to not only be there ready to go but also fully debrief themselves about the tasks to be prepared for. Presumably it could also be a late night affair where prep is done the night prior and then rest till he needed to get up but there was no telling. The first order of business proposed was that of reconstruction and aid in rebuilding post a violent mission gone wrong. Nothing too crazy to consider from the young kunoichi as rebuilding her hamlet during storms was commonplace for her. When Mako gave pause to see if there were any comments, she simply remained silent. The other missions were also addressed by the Hoshigaki but provoked no responses or subsequent thoughts from the generic Shinobi.
That’s once no one else had any more input to add the group moved forward towards the location of the first mission. Cleaning up after another Shinobi’s mission was not something that Heibon’na expected would be something that was needed. When thinking about it more on the way there it was very clear and simple to see you that any messes that they made on behalf of the village, would likely need to be cleaned up either by themselves, or by others at some point. when she considered it that way, it’s just like back in her fishing hamlet, if you messed up gutting a fish you had to clean up the mess made. She gave a slight shrug to herself as her thoughts wondered about that truly trying to think about what conditions or work was going to be asked and demanded of them. It could be a mixture of clearing out, rubble and debris, helping build supports properly instead of the temporary ones, or even doing actual construction work. Looking amongst the group, Heibon’na call De La, heavy lifting, was likely going to be done by Mako considering his size and to her knowledge superior strength. She had a good set of arms and a good set of legs herself and knew that she had a capacity to keep up with him should she exert herself, but that would likely be ill advised this early in the day.
Once the group arrived and the damage was assessed it boiled down to creative artistic design. Not having a huge direction for the development of the potential three lots, Heibon’na would simply voice her thoughts openly. “Should try to stick to the area’s design. Give it some elevation but perhaps the building shouldn’t bring more attention to it than the rest of the area.” With that she waited to see what the others wished to proceed with. The work that would be required would be rather intensive and laborious so Heibon’na took it as a test of pacing and endurance. Waiting to see what was needed, she adjusted to get accommodate the desired design. Although she was not small or frail, she kept up fairly well across the board with capacity. At a certain point so they would have more hands, she did a quickly flurry of handsigns before two more of her appeared beside her. From there the trio of Heibon’na’s began to work in triplicate to get the work done faster. Before long the base structure had been rebuilt with the help of little miss generic being a driving force of the reconstruction. At that stage she took a small break while her clones continued the work. They would take moments of reprieve to best remind each other and to instill the rhythms of work and cooperation. It was not before long the the work would come to completion and the group would need to proceed to the next mission on the list. Now it was time to begin infiltration training within the village of Kirigakure no Sato.

Re: Averaging out
Tue Feb 13, 2024 12:07 pm
Greetings were exchanged, a couple of them engaging in a bit of small talk before their group would tackle the tasks laying ahead. "Indeed, thank you for the help once again, it was much appreciated" the Hyuuga responded to Mako, both men referring to the time when they had to clean the Mizukage statue among other things. With the formalities out of the way, the four Kirigakure shinobi could officially begin. The tallest out of everyone present, the man possessing shark like features, took it upon himself to brief the others on what they could expect, going over the missions before effectively carrying them out.
Listening attentively, Sosuke paid close attention as Mako started to explain, describing the details from the first mission to the last. They would start of with a request to reconstruct and rebuild a house that unfortunately got destroyed during a fight involving a Kirigakure shinobi. "Sometimes the innocent get caught up in our business" the Hyuuga softly remarked, emphasizing the world they lived in. Up next was quite the different task, one where they were expected to show off their infiltration skills. For the third one they would be able to channel their inner commentator and give a real play by play of a stadium match for the viewers at home.
Last but not least was a mission where the four of them could temporarily dress up and become a Hunter-Nin for the time being, visiting the loved ones of some of Kirigakure's forces to remind them what would happen should any secrets be spilled. Having no questions or further comments, Sosuke figured it was about time for the group to head out and tackle the various tasks at hand, but he would wait nonetheless to make sure nobody else had something to add to the conversation. Assuming there was no more input, the Hyuuga followed behind and made his way to the location of the first mission.
Upon arriving at the destroyed building site, the swordsman noticed how Heibon’na, the kunoichi who liked to call everyone cousin, took matters into her own hands, taking initiative by creating two identical clones to aid her with the labor. The young blacksmith would follow the three women's example and help out wherever and with whatever he could, already used to hard work from his time in the smithy. With the combined forces and joint efforts it was only a matter of time before the rebuilding finished, their group that in the meantime lost a member due to Izu's sudden departure now able to move on to the next mission, infiltration.
