- Why Don't We Dance (Pt. 1):
Yoto came along a surprisingly well-maintained path to a small village under one of the largest mountains in the area. In a nearby tavern, there was talk of the upcoming festival and how the annual drunken brawls would make this year's festival a good one for security guards. Yoto accepted this and so his job was to protect and assist the local theatre group that was preparing for the upcoming event, where he was to provide entertainment in any form. The group consisted of five members who were all enthusiastic performers. Each had their own talent and style that they wanted to showcase to the audience. They were:
- A storyteller who could create exciting and interesting stories full of adventure and imagination. He had a sense of humor and could hold the attention of the audience.
- A dancer and singer who loved music and movement. She knew how to dance different kinds of dances, from traditional to modern. She had a beautiful voice and could sing a variety of genres, from folk songs to pop.
- A juggler and magician who was skilled and dexterous. He could juggle a variety of objects, from balls to knives. He also had several magic tricks with which he could amaze and entertain audiences.
- An actress and puppeteer who was talented and expressive. She could play a variety of roles and characters, from the comic to the dramatic. She also had several puppets with which she was able to bring her stories to life and give them personality.
- A musician and comedian who was musically and verbally gifted. He could play a variety of instruments, from the guitar to the flute. He also had a sense of humor and could joke about current events and situations.
Yoto was curious about their art and wanted to see them in action. The group invited him to their tent where they had their props and costumes. There, they showed him what they could do and asked him for feedback. Yoto was impressed with their talent and creativity. He admired their ability to engage and entertain the audience. He also gave them some advice on how to improve their performance. For example, he suggested that the narrator use more voice changes and gestures to make his narration more lively and interesting. He advised the dancer and singer to combine different styles of dancing and singing to show their diversity and elegance. He told the juggler and magician to add more tricks and humor to his juggling and magic to engage and entertain the audience. She advised the actress and puppeteer to use more puppets and stories to make her act more engaging and original. And for the musician and comedian, he suggested that he play different instruments and make jokes about current events to make his music melodious and comical.
The group was very grateful for Yoto's ideas and thanked him for his help. They told him that they would love to see them again and that they wished he would stay with them longer. Yoto was delighted with their hospitality and told them that he was looking forward to seeing them perform. He felt that he had developed a friendly relationship with them and that he had become part of their group. He was glad that he could forget about the harsh reality for a while, earn some change and have fun at the same time.
Yoto joined a group of street performers a few days ago, who welcomed him into their troupe. He shared with them his ideas on how to improve their performances, such as adding more humor, music and engaging the audience. The group was very grateful for Yoto’s suggestions and thanked him for his help. They told him that they would like to meet him again and that they wished he would stay with them longer. They invited him to join them on their next show, which was to take place in another city.
Yoto was excited by their hospitality and told them that he was looking forward to their performance. He felt that he had built a friendly relationship with them and that he had become part of their group. He enjoyed their company and their passion for their art. He was glad that he could forget about the harsh reality for a while, earn some money and have fun.
He wandered from east to west looking for a place where he belonged. He met many people on his way, but none of them welcomed him or understood him. He felt lonely and lost, until he came across a group of street performers. They greeted him with a smile and offered him a place to sleep. They treated him like a friend and a fellow artist. They gave him meaning and joy.
He knew that he could not stay with them forever, but he wanted to enjoy the time that he had with them. He wanted to learn from them and share his skills with them. He wanted to make them happy and proud. He wanted to be part of their group, even if it was only for a while.WC: 852
- Why Don't We Dance (Pt. 2):
Yoto was a traveler who loved to explore new places and meet new people. One day he came to a small village under the biggest mountain where a festival was to be held in a few days. The village was full of life and joy, people were decorating their houses and preparing for the celebration. Yoto was curious about the festival because he had heard that it was a big event that attracted many artists and spectators from all over the world.
Yoto stayed at a small inn where he met a group of young artists who were traveling around the world showing off their skills. They were a puppeteer, a juggler, an acrobat, a magician and a musician. Yoto was enchanted by their talent and sympathy, and so he befriended them. He offered to help them with their performance at the festival because of his experience in theater and art. The artists were happy to have a new helper and friend, so they accepted him into their group.
Yoto spent several days with the artists, helping them rehearse, improve and promote their show. He was particularly fascinated by the puppeteer, who could bring her puppets to life so that they looked like real people. She had one large puppet that looked like a samurai, which she controlled with a complex system of strings and rods. The puppet was made of wood, metal and cloth, and was very detailed. The puppeteer called it Kenji, and claimed it was her best friend and protector.
Yoto suggested to the puppeteer that they could put on a new show to captivate the audience. He told her that they could perform a perfectly rehearsed fight between puppet and human, with blunt swords so they wouldn't get hurt, and with the seriousness of Kabuki theater. The puppeteer was thrilled with the idea, and they began to practice. Yoto learned to control the puppet, and the puppeteer learned to fight with the sword. Together they created a scenario in which Kenji rebels against his creator, and tries to kill her because he is jealous of her new boyfriend. The puppeteer must fight back, and eventually manages to overpower the puppet and return it to obedience. The performance was full of suspense, action and drama, and both performers were pleased with the outcome.
After Yoto suggested a new performance to the puppeteer, they decided to practice every day to be ready for the festival. They took advantage of the free time when the other performers were busy with other things and went to the forest where they were undisturbed. There they found a small clearing where they built a makeshift stage out of sticks and stones. There they practiced their fighting, and perfected their movements and reactions.
Yoto quickly learned how to control Kenji, and the puppeteer quickly learned how to fight with a sword. Both were very talented and intelligent, and both did well. They were able to create different situations and scenes in which Kenji tried to kill the puppeteer, and she tried to defend herself. Sometimes Kenji was aggressive and aggressive, and sometimes he was sneaky and cunning. Sometimes the puppeteer was brave and courageous, and sometimes she was scared and desperate. But they were always in harmony and accord, and they could adapt to each other.
Training was not only fun for them, but also a way for them to get to know each other better and bond. During breaks they talked about themselves, their interests, dreams and experiences. They discovered that they had a lot in common and that they liked the same things. They both loved art and travel, and both longed for adventure and freedom. They were also both lonely and looking for someone who understood and loved them. Gradually, a strong emotional relationship developed between them that went beyond friendship.
One day, when they finished training, Yoto and the puppeteer looked into each other's eyes, and felt it was the right moment. They moved closer together, and kissed. It was their first kiss, and it was full of tenderness and passion. They made a commitment that they loved each other, and that they wanted to be together. Then they embraced, and lay down on the grass. There they enjoyed each other's company, and planned their future. They decided to leave the village after the festival, and travel the world together. They wanted to see new places, meet new people, and perform their art. They wanted to be happy and free.
After Yoto and the puppeteer had made love on the grass, they decided it was time to return to the village. It was already late afternoon and the sun was beginning to set over the horizon. They packed their things and took Kenji with them. On the way they held hands and whispered sweet words to each other. They were happy to have found each other and to be together.
Translate to English: When they left the meadow, where they enjoyed their tenderness, they entered the dark forest, which separated them from the village. It was already dark and the only light was the stars in the sky and the moon, which occasionally shone through the clouds. They had to walk carefully, not to fall into a pit or stumble over a root. They held hands and felt the warmth and strength of their love. Kendži, their wooden companion, ran ahead of them and protected them from danger.
The forest was full of sounds. They heard the rustling of leaves, the swaying of branches, the barking of foxes, the growling of bears, the howling of wolves and the singing of birds. The forest seemed to them like a living organism, which breathed and felt. They felt like part of this nature, which offered them its beauty and protection. The smell of the forest so intoxicated them, that they forgot everything and did not perceive anything except the beating of their hearts. He woke up only at the moment, when a squirrel ran across the path in front of him. And another one behind it. Suddenly he realized how lively it was around him. Birds sang, frogs croaked and the wind whistled through the tops of the trees so fast, that it whistled. He stopped as if scalded. He looked around and his gaze was captivated by a huge tree. Its trunk resembled the construction of a huge skyscraper rising into the height. Above it spread a massive and wide crown, which seemed to keep watch over the surrounding “colleagues”.
This tree reminded him most of a shepherd, who watches and drives his sheep. When he got to the tree, a flock of birds flew out of the crown. From the next tree came the song of thrushes, who seemed to announce his arrival with a fanfare. He touched the trunk of the tree and his hands rested on the thick bark, which did not move. His hand passed through some current, which came from the inside of the tree and left him with a joyful feeling. Unfortunately, he also passed through a regretful feeling when he thought about how trees are being cut down nowadays. This giant had to be very old, but still he stood proudly and did not show his feelings or even fear of his human “enemies”. His roots spread to a distance of 30 meters from his massive “body”. Part of the roots were covered with fluffy tufts of moss or lichens, which almost blended with the surrounding grass. The sun was almost setting behind the horizon and he realized that he had to spend at least four hours in the forest. He sighed, looked once more at the tree sage and disappeared behind the thickets of bushes.
They walked almost silently and enjoyed all the beauties of the forest, which he left soon. He wanted to enjoy it as much as possible, so he did not go straight along the path, but continued as he pleased. He felt like a bird, who flies in the sky and lacks nothing. Twilight slowly came, but they was far from the end of the forest.
They arrived at the village where it was already dark and everything was ready for the feast. They saw how people had already decorated their houses and streets. They watched the empty street, lit only by the lights from the houses of some people who had not yet slept. Together they walked through the whole village to the very edge. Yoto and the puppeteer reached her tent, which was set up at the edge of the village. It was a small but cozy tent that had plenty of privacy. The puppeteer invited Yoto in and told him that she would like to spend the night with him. Yoto agreed and entered the tent. It was fortunate that the tent was quite far away from other houses and people. Otherwise, many people wouldn't have gotten any sleep the night before the festival because of the suspicious noises coming from the tent.
The next morning, they woke up next to each other with no clothes on. It was festival day, when they were to have a newly rehearsed group performance. They bathed together, dressed in festival clothes, and once they had finished basic hygiene, they headed out of the tent into the middle of the village where the fetival was already in full swing.

- Why Don't We Dance (Pt. 3):
Yoto woke up feeling something pressing against his chest. He opened his eyes and saw that it was the woman he was holding in his arms sleeping next to him. It was the puppeteer he had spent the night with in her tent on the outskirts of the village. He remembered how they had first met a week ago. And yesterday when he had helped her practice her puppet skills. It had been a strange but exciting experience, the way their bodies and puppets moved in unison and fought against each other. It was a one-time experience, but Yoto enjoyed it.
Slowly, he extricated himself from her embrace and rose from the bed. He put on his clothes and walked out of the tent. The sun was already rising over the largest mountain in the area, which towered over the village. It was the day of the festival where the puppeteer was performing with her group. Yoto was excited to see her on stage, bringing her puppet to life and showing off her talent. He was proud of her for improving so quickly.
While he waited for the puppeteer to wake up, he went to wash his face and hands in a nearby stream. Then he found something to eat from her supplies. It was a simple but nutritious meal that gave him energy. When he returned to his tent, he saw that the puppeteer was also awake. She smiled at him and thanked him for the night. Yoto offered her something to eat and she accepted. They sat together and ate while they talked about the festival and their plans.
The puppeteer then went to get ready for her performance. She put on her festival outfit, which was colorful and decorated. She was beautiful in it and Yoto told her so. She blushed and thanked him. Then she took her puppet and checked to make sure it was okay. It was a warrior puppet that had a sword and shield. It was made of wood and metal and wore the same outfit as the puppeteer. It was her most prized possession and Yoto admired it.
Together they then walked out of the tent and headed for the village. Along the way, they met other members of the group who each specialized in a different field. There were four others, all men, but one of them was not there. No one had paid much attention to it yet Yoto knew them, but not nearly as well as the girl he had spent no with. They were friendly and cheerful people who welcomed Yoto into their midst.
They reached the village where the festival was in full swing. There were many people there enjoying themselves, eating, drinking, dancing and watching the various performances. There was even a stage where a group of puppeteers were to perform. It was their big performance, which they had been preparing for a long time.
They reached the village where the festival was in full swing. There were many people there enjoying themselves, eating, drinking, dancing and watching the different performances. There was even a stage where a puppet group was to perform. It was their big performance, which they had been preparing for a long time.
But when they arrived backstage, they found that one of them wasn't there. He was a musician and narrator who was supposed to accompany their puppet play with music and words. They couldn't perform without him. They started looking for him and calling out, but no one saw or heard him. They were desperate and nervous. Time was running out and the audience was waiting.
The puppeteer decided she had to do something. She remembered that the musician had told her that she was the only one who could play musical instruments. She had an ear for music and could feel the rhythm. Maybe she could fill in for the musician and play his piano. But what about the puppets? Who would play them?
That's when Yoto, who was standing next to her, spoke up. He was a young and enthusiastic helper who wanted to learn the art of puppetry. He offered to take over for the puppeteer and play with the puppets. The puppeteer was surprised, but also grateful. Yoto may have been inexperienced in this particular art form, but he had talent, imagination, and experience with puppetry. The puppeteer thanked him and told him with a bit of humor that the puppet was in good hands. Then she turned to the others and told them of her plan. The others agreed and supported them.
Yoto quickly changed into the festival clothes he had borrowed from one of the organizers. It was a brightly colored kimono with a floral pattern and a wide belt. On his head he put on a round hat with a long tassel. He felt a little embarrassed, but also excited. It was his first opportunity to perform on stage with a puppet, which he had also borrowed.
The puppet was small and light, with a wooden head and a body made of cloth. It had black hair, white skin and big brown eyes. She wore a red kimono with white polka dots. Yoto looked her over and tried to move her. The puppet was no masterpiece, but it responded to Yoto's questioning hand. Yoto found it quite easy to move it.
Then he heard his name being called to the stage. He hurriedly picked up the puppet and ran out of the dressing room. His teammates were already waiting on stage. One of them was a puppeteer who played the shamisen, a traditional Japanese stringed instrument. She was wearing a blue kimono and a white mask. Next to her stood another member of the group holding a sword. He was Yota's opponent in the story. He was dressed as a ronin, a homeless samurai who served an evil spirit. He wore a black kimono and a red mask, reminiscent of the very evil demon Akuma. The third was the narrator, who wore a green kimono and a yellow mask. He introduced Yoto and his puppet to the audience and began to tell the story.
Samurai loved a beautiful girl
With whom he shared his dreams and desires
Together they lived in a small village
Where they were happy and content
But one day the demon Akuma appeared
And destroyed their peaceful home
He killed all the villagers
And kidnapped a girl as his prey
The samurai woke up among the ruins
And saw the demon take away his love
His heart broke with pain and anger
And decided to avenge his loss
He took his sword and went after the demon
He overcame many dangers and pitfalls
Till he arrived at hell's castle
Where the demon held the girl captive
The samurai fought his way to the throne room
And challenged the demon to a duel
Both fought with great fury
And their swords clashed with fiery sparks
The samurai attacked with quick and accurate blows
He tried to penetrate the demon's defenses
But the demon was strong and resilient
And deflected each of the samurai's blows
The demon counterattacked with violent and devastating blows. It tried to break the samurai's will
But the samurai was brave and unyielding
And evaded the demon's every intention
The fight was long and even
Both opponents were wounded and tired
But neither would yield
And they fought to the end
The samurai was brave and skilled
But the demon was powerful and cunning
He dealt the samurai a fatal blow
And wanted to finish him off with his claw
But then the voice of a maiden was heard
Who broke free from her bonds
And threw herself between the demon and the samurai
And saved her lover with her body
The demon was surprised and angry
And wanted to kill the girl with his anger
But the samurai held on with his last strength
And stabbed the demon with his sword
The demon closed its eyes and died
And his castle crumbled to dust
The samurai and the girl embraced
And kissed with love
But their happiness didn't last long
The girl was mortally wounded
And the samurai was on the verge of death
And they both knew they had only moments to live
The samurai and the girl looked into each other's eyes
And said they loved each other forever
And then they closed their eyes together
And they went to eternal peace
It was the story of a brave samurai who fell in love with a princess but had to face the evil demon Akuma who wanted her for himself. Yoto controlled the samurai puppet. He had to defeat the evil ronin who served the demons. Yoto tried to play his best, but he was nervous. Sometimes he would forget lines he had no chance of learning in a few minutes. Fortunately, the puppeteer helped him and whispered in his ears. But mostly it was pure improvisation. Shamisen supplied the music and the atmosphere of the story. The narrator commented on the plot and added humor. The audience was enthusiastic and responded to every scene.
The puppet samurai and his girl lie on the stage, surrounded by blood and flowers. Their lives ended in a fight against the puppet demon, who wanted to destroy their village. But their love remained forever in their hearts. It is a sad but beautiful story that touched the audience.
The audience is amazed by their performance. They saw how the puppets fought, loved and sacrificed themselves. They felt how the puppeteer breathed life into his puppet, how he gave him emotions and personality. They admired how the puppeteer controlled his puppet, how he gave him movement and acrobatics. They listened to how the narrator told their story, how he gave him voice and words. They heard how the music accompanied their story, how it gave it rhythm and atmosphere.
The audience does not want it to end. They want to see more, they want to thank the puppeteer for his art. They start clapping, whistling and shouting. It is a stormy and sincere applause that expresses their enthusiasm and appreciation.
The puppeteer hears their applause. He is happy and proud of his performance. He knows that he managed to convey his story, his passion and his skill to the audience. He knows that he managed to create something beautiful and unforgettable.
The puppeteer gets up from his place and takes his puppet in his hands. He goes together with the other actors and musicians to the center of the stage and bows. It is their way of thanking the audience for their attention and support. It is also their way of saying goodbye to their puppets, who were their companions and friends.
The audience still claps for them. They want to show them how much they appreciate their work. They want to tell them how much their performance influenced them. They want to let them know how much they love them.
The puppeteer smiles and thanks. He feels satisfied and happy. He slowly returns to the backstage, where he meets his colleagues and friends. Together they celebrate their successful performance. They talk about what they achieved, what they could improve, what they would like to do next. They share their experiences, their feelings, their dreams. They are like one big family, united by puppet theater.
After a while, the festival moderator appears on the stage. He announces that it is time to announce the winner of this category, which focuses on traditional theater. The audience falls silent and anxiously awaits the result. The moderator opens the envelope and says with a smile: “And the winner is … the group with the performance ‘Samurai and his girl’!”
The audience bursts into thunderous applause and cheers. The group is surprised and happy. They get up from their seats and rush to the stage. The moderator congratulates them and hands them the trophy and a check for the cash prize. The group thanks the audience, the jury, the organizers and their colleagues. Yoto says that it is a great honor for them and that they want to share their joy with their puppets, who are their soul and heart. Then he lifts his puppet samurai and kisses him on the forehead.
The audience is moved and excited. They clap and call the names of the artists again. The group bows once more and then returns to the backstage. There they are waiting for another surprise. A drunk man comes to them, ready to play in the theater. He is wearing a puppet demon costume and waving his arms. He finds out that it is the missing colleague, who got too drunk at the festival and had to be replaced by Yoto.
The group laughs and hugs him. They tell him that they forgive him and that they are glad that he is okay. Then they show him the trophy and the check and tell him that thanks to him they won. The colleague is confused and bewildered. He asks what happened. The group explains to him that Yoto replaced him as a puppeteer and that he performed an amazing show. The colleague is horrified and apologizes. He says that he doesn’t remember anything and that he just wanted to have fun. The group tells him that it doesn’t matter and that he can join the celebration. Then they take him by the hand and take him to the others. Together they enjoy their success and happiness. They are like one big family, united by puppet theater. After the celebration, Yoto and the puppeteer return to her tent. There they discuss the future, and find out that Yoto is not able to make a living from the theater, because he has a lot of work outside this area. He is a wandering ninja who travels around the world. He tells her that he would like to take her with him, but he doesn’t know if it would be good for her. The puppeteer tells him that she would go with him anywhere, but first she has to play the tour. She has love in it, while Yoto has fun. They have different lifestyles and different dreams, yet he tells her that he will stay with her until the end of her tour and then take her with him.
Then they lie down in bed and fall asleep in each other’s arms. As soon as the sun rises in the morning, the puppeteer wakes up and tries to feel Yoto with her hand. She immediately finds out that he is no longer in the tent and from the bed she sees that all his clothes are gone. At that moment, Yoto was already several kilometers east of the village. He left her a note on the pillow, in which he apologizes and says goodbye.
The puppeteer reads the note and cries. She feels betrayed and abandoned. She doesn’t understand why Yoto left her, when he promised her that he loves her. She doesn’t understand why he left her alone, when he promised her that he would take her with him. She doesn’t understand why he hurt her, when he promised her that he would protect her. She wants to find him and ask him for an explanation. She wants to find him and tell him that she still loves him. She wants to find him and go back with him. But she knows it’s impossible. She knows that Yoto is gone and that he will never come back. She knows that Yoto is just a memory and that he will never appear again.
