The heat was almost unbearable inside of the Country of Rice. Even with her resistance to natural heat, she couldn’t lie that the heat against her skin was absolutely unbearable. The smell was also unbearable near where she had been walking for some time. The people had asked for someone to help with the water situation, she needed the money, and wanted to move her legs, as such she was able to acquire this painstaking job of delving into the mystery of why the village’s river had been running low. She first had thought that it was because of the drought. Yet upon hearing that this river could survive such heats and even higher. It made her curious if there were other factors at play. The bright sun was practically blinding inside of the barren fields of Rice country. Her eyes flickered into her Kashogan state, seeing the world around here in a almost 360 like effect, with there being multiple heat signatures near the center of the water. Something huge was near the water, not only that, but she could see that there was water near the massive creature. But what creature it was, she had no idea about. She almost wished she could have an encyclopedia on monsters and other beasts. But for now, Sukiba would have to confront whatever it was that was within the center of the River.
What Sukiba saw shocked her to no end, there were people, not only that, but they were building something, a dam almost. Yet what they were also doing was disturbing the beast that she had seen, the creature was big, almost 4 meters in length and 1 and a half in width. Its wispy purple hair was in contrast with the beautiful, pearly scales that reflected the light of the sun around it. It’s tail started out lizard-like, but then expanded at the end almost like a paddle. It was a Mitzutsune, a beast known for being near sources of water and springs. Some of the workers held makeshift spears, poking and prodding at the beast while it snarled at them. Small bubbles were being emitted from the beasts skin. Sukiba realized just what they were doing, they were building another water way. . . One that was being sourced back seemingly to only themselves. Yet it also seemed as though they had disturbed the Mitsuzune. The beasts small cries and snarls made Sukiba peer further with her flaming eyes. . . Seeing what she could only assume were smaller heat signatures near the stomach of the beast. It’s tail wrapped around them. Her eye could see that they too were moving, before a small tail, very similar to that of the Mitzusune’s own, would pop out. One of the men called over towards what he could only assume to be his boss.
“Hey Boss! This ones got children!” His voice was gruff, but sounded almost excited at the news of the beast before him having children. SHe had kept away from view, keeping low to the ground with her hair acting almost like a beacon. Her luck would probably run out soon if this kept up. She didn’t have a lot of firepower, or enough firepower to completely blow away the dam. . . But to help the Mitsuzune could allow her enough time to set fire to the dam. Before her plan could be put into place, someone appeared in a mix of red and brown, they were wearing some form of armor with rims of red. A damaged cape hanging out from the man's armor, It had seemingly been slightly torn from what Sukiba could see. Yet what she saw next shocked her to her very core. His hand started to form handseals. . . A ninja of some kind, as even the other bandits surrounding him didn’t seem to mind or care. They were use to their boss using some form of hand seal.
He weaved the tiger, then dragon seal, before suddenly summoning from his arms a sword and shield. The Mitsuzune’s body continued to coil around it’s smaller children. Small bubbles floating out of the creature's body. It was now or never that she had to help deal with this river situation. Her throat felt sore from the heat. Sweat dripped from her head, before suddenly she shot out of her position like a cannonball. A glint of steel appearing for a single moment until her body had begun to blur from focus. Appearing right before the Mituszune with her refined katana pointing directly at the supposed boss.
“Ah, look who’s finally come out of hiding. . . Your the famed Sukiba Moeagaru? Seems you couldn’t wait to get back into the action?” The man with the sword and shield snickered. Sukiba’s sword was held with two hands, her eyes the same red that was the activation of her own dojutsu. The ground was slightly uneven from years of the river smashing about. She remained silent for a moment, knowing that she couldn’t do anything stupid with the creature behind her. She hoped it would simply run away from the fight. A single drop of sweat began to fall from her forehead, slowly trailing down her cheek and rested on the bottom of her chin. There was one final intake of breath, before both of them rushed at each other.
She led in with a horizontal slash, aiming at the man's abdomen. His metal shield blocked the attack, shoving her sword to the side and thrusted his blade forwards. Sukiba shifted her body to the side, the sword still lightly cut her side. Leaving the Goka clan member to wince in pain, holding her side with a small annoyed glare.
“What’s wrong? I thought you were known for your swordsmanship skills? Have you gotten soft?!” He shouted, the grunt as well was rushing towards her, aiming to act as a decoy while the man with the SnS continued to rush at her. She needed to find a way to take care of that shield. Lifting her blade, she’d hear the sudden rushing of water behind her. Her blade continued to be parried and pushed away by the shield blocking her blows. Yet she could see the maw of the Mitsuzune surging with watery chakra, molding into a thin like shape within it’s throat. Sukiba’s sword would slam down onto the shield, chipping at it before ducking from an incoming slash of the mans blade, her hair had been slashed slightly, leaving small red strands of hair on the ground. At that very same moment, the Mizutsune’s jet of water would push out of it’s maw, causing the man with the sword and shield to try and block the attack, but it was too late. The shield held up for almost a second before the water punched through like a spear. His side pierced through by the jet of water, leaving it slightly bloody when it shot towards the ground, splitting a part the rocks to allow more water to begin flowing upwards. Sukiba using this opportunity to slam her blade downwards, decapitating the man while he was on the ground, as the water began to rush out of the opening, with the Mizu’s beam aiming directly towards the dam that had been built. The wood splintered immediately, right as Sukiba would begin to climb out of the riverbed, rushing outwards and standing on the side, looking on with surprise as the massive beast would begin devouring those that fell into the water. She was lucky that the creature didn’t try to approach her and eat her up too. Yet the coolness of the water allowed her to relax for a moment. The Mizu and it’s litter would swim off along the river, disappearing while Sukiba was covered in water, hopefully she could get a new change of clothes.
The heat now has never felt so good.
