Don't Look To The Sky No More [Hunter] - Page 2 Empty Re: Don't Look To The Sky No More [Hunter]

Mon Aug 26, 2024 10:10 pm
OOC

What's up Space and Battle Mod! This call is mostly due to the nature of the post and the fact that both of us have differing thoughts on the timelining of everything. I'm going to list a few points I think should be addressed. And if the Battle Mod could set our timeline straight or give some clarity on that. Would be much appreciated.

1. For my main point. I'm arguing that Space doesn't correctly specify his movement correctly. Leaving it to vague wording such as "While on the move," while not describing when he would interact with Tobias's techniques. I then had to fill in the information with the math I displayed to show the timeline of the post. Which he contradicted in the proceeding post by adding his own sets of numbers. Which he previously had not described. I find that since I did so first I have precedent.

2. For my second point, I'll draw attention to Space's second point in his post. I only need to do three hand seals for Hurricane Sidewinder. My hand seal speed is divided by his movement speed. He would only be able to run 3.27 meters. As 24/220 is 0.109 repeating. Times 10, it equals 1.09 meters of movement for Saturn per hand seal that Joro performs. 3 times 1.09 is 3.27 meters. So, he would not be able to move those 6 meters he described before my technique went off.

3. Since we are going into wording here of the timeline. Space uses the word dragging which when defined means, "pull (someone or something) along forcefully, roughly, or with difficulty." This can be found in Space's Second to last post. Third Paragraph near the bottom of it. Pull is the keyword here. As that would describe it behind him. If we are looking at the wording. With his new contradictory numbers, he would run into the Swamp before he could use his Axe against it.

4. For Saturn's third point you can look at the above example as his timelining is off if he really wants to teleport.

5. Would just like to get a third party on the discussion so we can continue from where is best and we can move past this confusion between the both of us. For the record, we both have discussed the combat thread at length to help each other in as fair a manner as we can. Just need another set of eyes to set us straight.

Last note, thank you to whoever picks this up for looking at this for us. Thank you to Space for being a solid combat partner. And indeed, this has been a fun topic. First IC fight, and it's been crazy. Thank you again for your time. Excited to see what is left in store for this Hunter!

Don't Look To The Sky No More [Hunter] - Page 2 Empty Re: Don't Look To The Sky No More [Hunter]

Greetings, warriors of the battlefield. I am your Battle Mod, here to serve as the impartial judge in this contest of skill and strategy. Like the scribes of old, I’m here to provide insights and unravel the threads of your combat narrative.

As we delve into this tale of tension and strategy, I will navigate the murky waters of timelines and movements, seeking clarity amid the chaos. Together, we will examine the actions and intentions of both parties, ensuring that honor and fairness prevail. So, let us embark on this journey to restore order to your clash, for the story is far from over, and the winds of fate are ever-shifting.

Space's Position (Saturn):

Space argues that combat is inherently fluid, suggesting that their post implied Saturn was already moving at full speed in response to Tobias’ actions. While they may not have provided explicit measurements at every stage, Space believes they conveyed the sequence of events in a natural, chronological manner. The phrase “while on the move” was intended to illustrate a continuous series of actions, and the numbers introduced later were meant to clarify, not contradict, the existing timeline.

Regarding timing, Space disputes Tobias’ calculations, asserting that Saturn was already closing the distance before Tobias began forming the hand seals for Hurricane Sidewinder. They believe this justifies the distance Saturn covered before the technique’s completion. Additionally, Space clarifies that the term "dragging" refers to the weight and force behind the axe, not to imply that the weapon was trailing behind Saturn, as Tobias suggests.

Space contends that the teleportation technique was already in motion based on prior actions and that Tobias’ Hurricane Sidewinder would not have interrupted it in time, given that Saturn’s movement and momentum were already in play.

Tobias' Position (Joro):

Tobias raises concerns that Space's posts lack specific details about timing and movement, leaving critical moments vague, particularly regarding when Saturn would interact with Tobias’ techniques. He argues that this ambiguity forces him to fill in the gaps with his calculations, which Space later contradicted by introducing their numbers. Tobias believes his timeline should take precedence since he provided clear metrics first.

He also presents a hand seal speed calculation to assert that Saturn could only cover a limited distance—3.27 meters—before Hurricane Sidewinder would activate, based on the relative speeds of their actions. This contradicts Space’s claim that Saturn moved 6 meters before the technique was executed.

Concerning the term "dragging," Tobias argues that it implies the axe was being pulled behind Saturn. This suggests that Saturn encountered the Swamp of the Underworld before using the axe to absorb it, thereby creating a timeline inconsistency.

Tobias seeks clarification on the timeline and believes a third-party ruling is necessary to reconcile the differences and allow the combat to proceed fairly.

Points of Dispute:

  • Movement Clarity: Tobias sees Space’s description of the movement as too vague, leaving the timeline open to interpretation. He argues that his timeline should be prioritized due to his earlier calculations.

  • Speed Calculations: Tobias asserts that Space's character couldn’t have covered the described distance before his technique was activated. Meanwhile, Space contends that Saturn’s momentum and full-speed movement justify the distance.

  • Word Interpretation: Tobias believes that "dragging" implies the axe was behind Saturn, leading to a timeline inconsistency. Space counters that it refers to the force behind the movement, not the weapon's physical position.

  • Teleportation Timing: The critical question is whether Saturn’s teleportation was initiated before Tobias’ technique could interfere, as Space claims, or if the sequence of events supports Tobias’ technique activating first.

Verdict:

After reviewing both posts and arguments from Tobias and Space (Saturn), the timeline and actions described in Space’s post appear to align with the natural progression of events. I will address each point in detail.

  • Movement Clarity: While Space's phrase "while on the move" may not have met Tobias' preference for precision, it effectively conveys Saturn’s continuous movement in response to the situation. Combat actions are often fluid, and Space tried to specify distances as the post progressed, notably with the 9-meter marker. Furthermore, Space's description of a 3-meter movement before Tobias' technique was clear. Since this movement was not entirely abstract and was later quantified, it satisfies the requirement for maintaining an understandable timeline.

  • Speed Calculations: Tobias provided detailed hand seal speed calculations, arguing that Saturn should only have been able to move 3.27 meters before Hurricane Sidewinder activated. However, considering the natural flow of events, Saturn was already in motion before Tobias began forming the hand seals. The speed of Saturn’s movement and the ongoing action would reasonably allow for the 6-meter distance covered, especially since Saturn was moving continuously in reaction to the combat situation rather than starting from a standstill. Thus, the timeline presented by Space is consistent with the natural progression of combat.

  • The Wording of “Dragging”: In context, the word "dragging" in Space’s post describes the force and weight behind the axe rather than suggesting that the weapon was physically trailing behind Saturn in a manner that would alter the timeline. Therefore, this interpretation does not create an inconsistency with the movement or sequence of events.

  • Teleportation Timing: The teleportation was triggered by the activation of Hurricane Sidewinder, and Space’s post indicates that Saturn had already initiated this process as a reaction to Tobias' actions. Based on the described sequence, it is reasonable to conclude that Saturn’s teleportation occurred before Hurricane Sidewinder could fully interfere. As such, Saturn’s teleportation should proceed as described.

Conclusion:

While not as detailed in the initial movement descriptions, the timeline outlined by Space is consistent with the flow of combat and the natural progression of events. Although Tobias’ calculations are valid, they do not sufficiently disrupt the continuous nature of Saturn’s movement and the following actions. Using the word "dragging" does not alter the timeline, and Saturn’s teleportation was appropriately triggered in response to Tobias' technique.

Therefore, Space’s post stands as written, and the combat should continue based on this resolution.

Final Thoughts:

As the dust settles from this epic clash, I commend both of you for your incredible skill and tenacity. In a combat realm where emotions can run high, your mastery of ninja techniques has entertained us and embodied the spirit of our community. There’s nothing quite like witnessing those intricate maneuvers unfold before our eyes.

Regardless of the outcome, both of you put forth tremendous effort, which deserves recognition. It’s also worth noting that you navigated this intense battle during a platform-changing patch, showcasing your adaptability and commitment to the game.

Let this experience remind us that, beyond victories and defeats, the journey we share and the friendships we forge truly matter. Congratulations to both of you, gentlemen.

Don't Look To The Sky No More [Hunter] - Page 2 Empty Re: Don't Look To The Sky No More [Hunter]

OOC:
Tobias was watching Saturn as the following steps went through, he had destroyed his Apasam Kamui, rid the Earth of his Swamp of the Underworld, and was now gone. Teleported behind him 5 meters. Slashing his weapon in his direction. Tobias's opponent was strong indeed. As he could feel the opponents chakra moving towards him from behind. The Sky Shredding Dragon heading his way. Tobias knew it was time to reconvene. He could sense that his energy reserves were a little higher. He knew he would have to play the long game with this one. Hoping that he could make his opponent beg for it to end.

With that, he instantly activated Kamui: Left Eye. Teleporting at 215 speed, exactly 50 meters behind Saturn. Dispelling all of his jutsu. Time for a new plan of attack. He was fast, that's for sure too fast. Once Tobias had teleported and there was a safe space between them he spoke. His tone soft, and cold. But yet carried to Saturn's ear. From years of being used merely as a weapon, disregarded by his clan and family. Now only to find that he couldn't beat a simple swordsman with strikingly blonde hair. Pathetic.

"So, you are as skilled as they said. Interesting... most aren't. Are you ready for another go?"

But Tobias would be unable to execute his teleportation 50 meters behind Saturn, whose back faced Tobias. That was a spot that was inaccessible to his Kamui: Left Eye. Saturn had made no changes to his strategy, waiting for each of his techniques to play out to their full extent just as he planned.

The assassin stood still in his position 5 meters in front of Saturn as the Sky Shredding Dragon (Power: 250 | Speed: 210 ) crashed into him to deal 250 damage, breaching his barrier technique and placing it along with his enhancer on cooldown. Thallium would add two posts to the cooldown of Noroi no O, and Senju Wood would steal 50 AP once again from Saturn's opponent. At this point, all of Tobias' Jutsu was dispelled. Since he did not react following his teleportation misstep, after taking damage Tobias would still be standing within the range of the air currents from the Sky Shredding Dragon that encircled Saturn, which had stretched out fully to a 10 meter radius all around him.

Tobias also stood still as he came within the range of Sage Art: Reduction (Power: 120 | Speed: 120 ), which had stretched out 25 meters in all directions around Saturn. The eyes summoned on the Spooky Doll as well as Mind's Eye of the Kagura relayed the situation accurately to Saturn as it played out behind him. It gave him a strong sense of deja vu.

If Tobias remained in the range of Sky Shredding dragon, he would be dealt another 250 damage, and the effects of Thallium and Senju Wood would take place once again. Saturn would stay alert, ready to react as soon as he senses Tobias move even an inch, if he still could.

When he spoke in his deep, raspy voice just as his Bukijutsu technique had initially stretched out to 10 meters, the cold words escaping his lips were, "You are already dead."

Where had he gone wrong? He had planned to teleport away from this god awful situation. But he hadn't. For whatever reason, he couldn't seem to touch that section of space and time. As he drifted through the air, the dragon made of wind slashing into his body. Tossing him and causing him to feel his guts slip out of his stomach. Quite the demise. As he retained his last few breaths it seemed. He couldn't help but wonder what went wrong. He had him, then he didn't, then he did. Now, he was dead it seemed. His energy gone, and his guts destroyed. Soon the blood would overcome him. The end of Tobias.

Just as he had began to become one of the stronger assassins. Only to fall from such a mighty place amongst the realm of Missing Ninja. He now seemed hopeless, and would soon be forgotten. As is the nature of dead Missing Nin. Feared, but forgotten.

Don't Look To The Sky No More [Hunter] - Page 2 Empty Re: Don't Look To The Sky No More [Hunter]

Tobias who had remained within range of the Sky Shredding Dragon collapsed to the ground behind Saturn when the assassin was struck with the second wave of shredding currents. Saturn turned around, and walked over to the lifeless body of his deceased assassin. He picked up on the last emotion stirring in Tobias' heart: despair.

"Stand up." Saturn spoke in a bland tone, but his heart pounded in his chest from exhilaration, and his eye swelled up with a single tear. "Oh. You're dead..."  His flesh hand shook, and he chuckled, grinning from ear to ear. He had not felt this kind of ecstasy since he took his very first life during his trial by combat in Warmonger's Arena. He grabbed his axe, and swung it down to stab the deceased assassin in his heart, over and over, gushing out crimson blood from his bursting arteries as Saturn burst out into manic laughter.

"Mi! Mi! Mimas! Mimi!" The blob that had crawled over burst into tears as it flailed its pink tentacles, now sprayed with dark red.

"What's that? You're right." Saturn wedged the axe into Tobias' ruptured heart as he paused to speak to his familiar. Drawing his axe out from Tobias' chest, he flicked it behind him to rid the blade from the assassin's blood. Grabbing the assassin by his collar, Saturn threw him onto his shoulder and promptly walked into the sunset. Before he disappeared into the horizon, he looked back at his octopus, and gave it a subtle smile. "You did good, buddy."
