Genin Exam

Genin Exam Mission Details:

It was the day of importance for Ryko. After all he was finally able to leave the Academy and join the Shinobi force of Hyogagakure proper instead of just being another student of the academy for those wishing to become a proper Shinobi. There was nothing wrong with the fact he was eighteen years old compared to the literal child starting their journey and there could come a day one of these very children to grow stronger than himself in the future. It was the way of Nature. Each generation would surpass the prior in their knowledge and growth if lead and train properly.
 
That knowledge and acceptance didn’t mean that Ryko enjoyed being stuck around kids all day and being treated as if he was just another toddler learning his first steps after all he had been someone who had survived the wilderness on his own and fought many life and death battles in his childhood. This whole practice felt to soft to the young man, but he understood the necessity. The duality of his opinion on the practice was something that he internally dealt with on the daily but at the end of the day he went to his studies and lessons as needed, because the faster he showed he was ready the faster he could climb the totem pole of village so that he could truly make an impact on the world around him.
 
So he got ready for the day, doing his daily training regime, showering and dressing in his standard garb of black clothing with his white jacket. He left his sword in his room as he had been instructed to leave his weapons at home for today and while it made him uncomfortable being weaponless he was not worried or scared to do so. A small part of him wished someone would attempt to fight him so he could go back to the basics of beating someone with his fists. A small nostalgia feeling with a rush of memories of those days where he had to fight literal tooth and nail against the beasts of the woods and other people who thought he was an easy mark due to his age and size. A primal part of him stirring which was interesting for someone of his clan who tended to be cold, distant and emotionless as cold as the ice they were known to wield. Ryko was different in that aspect he was like a flame hoping to be fed with every battle and scrap. He was intense in his interactions and burned with a passion for strength and power. His childhood had changed what he could have possibly been like and Ryko was thankful for his trials and tribulations.
 
Almost to the Academy Ryko was reviewing what he had been told the day prior by his teachers. They were going to be undertaking the Genin Exam to show their expertise in the Transformation and Clone Technique the very basics of what a Shinobi was suppose to be able to do without any issue or flaw. The Transformation Technique allowed those with mastery of it to turn themselves into anything they could think of, allowing for disguises nearly impossible to see through beyond those with better Chakra Sensory then the average person. It could also intimidate those of weaker wills by transforming into something that scared them like a superior or animal. Some part of Ryko wished he had that ability growing up as it would have made some of his dangerous fights in his youth a lot easier and less necessary but that was the past and it did not do well to dwell there to long.
 
The Clone Technique which was another staple of Shinobi’s was a technique that allowed one to spawn into the world another image of the user. While this was a weightless and lesser version of the legendary Shadow Clone technique where the clones could and would function as another you on the field which was hundreds of times more valuable it didn’t mean that this technique couldn’t be useful in a pinch against lesser opponents. After all a moment of hesitation or diversion could help cause enough hesitation in the opponents for an opening of an attack or counter. These clones that were made with this technique were substanceless and just a simple projection onto the world. They would mimic actions of set commands or simply stand somewhere as needed.
 
The exam would make sure those who could accomplish these techniques could do so with a level of skill that was acceptable as a budding shinobi. Ryko while not the most accomplished Ninjutsu user had trained these technique till they were of second nature to him as he did not accept failure of himself easily. He could easily perform these techniques with his eyes closed and in any environment, Ryko did not take his training half-heartedly. So entering the Academy he made his way through the halls to his classroom and awaited his turn for showing the instructors his ability. Each person undertaking the exam were called one by one into a room that held an assortment of instructors that would grade and pass or fail those who were on the chopping block for moving on or staying longer.
 
The class wasn’t big but with time it was finally Ryko’s turn to show his skills, he walked into the room and gave the proper greetings and respects to those in the room. For now they were his superior and he was one that followed those with strength until he himself proved to be stronger. With the instructors go ahead on his testing he first started with the Transformation technique, he chose a Kunai as his item to transform into as his knowledge of how weapons looked, felt, existed was deeply engrained into his body. With a Single handseal, Dog, a poof of smoke appeared and in the next moment Ryko was a perfect copy of a kunai which the original laid upon the desk of the instructors. Who moved slowly to inspect both objects and with some nods and writing on paper notes that Ryko wouldn’t be privy to, they gave him the go ahead to continue onto the next part of his exam.
 
Ryko dispelled the transformation and returned to his normal look, the next technique was the Clone Technique and again with the usage of a single Handseal, Ram, he produced four identical copies of himself in the room. They all stood in a line, equally mirroring one another only those with proper training would be able to know which was the true one. Once more as before the Instructors inspected his work and technique and with more nods and writing he was told to exit the room and await the results with the others.
 
The hours passed as he awaited for the other students to complete their Exams and for the instructors to finally post the results but with patience the results were posted and after spending some time looking for his name he saw it with a passing grade. He had completed his Genin Exam and was to be awarded a Hyogagakure Headband and a new rank of Genin, finally able to begin his true journey of the Shinobi.
 
The Ceremony was straight forward, they called your name and gave you the items you would require and the certificate of promotion. It was militaristic in nature and to the point. With its completion Ryko had to simply head home and go about his day, allowed to choose his missions as needed within his rank. Ryko wore his headband tied to his waist hanging in the front displayed for all to see.
