Kurais Kronicles: Everybody's Fool
Tue Nov 05, 2024 2:08 am
It was a very rainy day in Kirigakure, well more like misting. Well it is the “Mist Village” right? Kurai Tau had been searching for a journal and folder that he had been keeping with his team mates Jayden and Miz. Kurai was typically able to keep things because family members aren't nosy, not normally anyway! He had already given up looking for them last night figuring he had misplaced them.
It was about eight in the morning and Kurai was asleep in his room when he felt he was being watched. in a flash of lightning he saw his dad Kiken! In his hands he held up a journal and a folder.
“Why are you going through my private stuff?” Kurai said as he stood up looking at his dad.
“We need to talk!” Kiken said, sitting his stuff down.
“You didn't answer my question!” Kurai said face to face with his dad! Kiken somehow managed to keep his cool as he stared his son down! As the thunder echoed in the distance rolling through Kiri it added to the haunting scenario playing out in Kurai's room.
“if you must know I was in here looking for you and this was open on your desk and the papers were everywhere! If it's private, put it up. Now do you wanna explain why I read what I read? Or do we have to go get the other two and confront them as well?” Kiken said, crossing his arms, staring Kurai in the eyes. Kurai was extremely irritated and looked at his dad shaking his head before trying to walk past him.
“Fuck you asshole!” Kurai said as he tried to walk past his dad. Right before Kurai went down he saw Jeordie Terumi and Taki Hozuki in the doorway, Zeb Nara was against the wall, and then Kurai hit the floor fairly hard! Kiken had him tied up with his black threads.
“Let's get something straight, yes we are both Shinobi of Kiri, but I am also YOUR FATHER, you WILL respect me… understood?” Kiken said, staring down at Kurai. The others tried to step forward but Kiken held his hand up to signify he had the situation under control.
“Damnit! Fine! I'm sorry!” This was a first for Kurai, he wasn't one to apologize for his mistakes. But his dad was right, he shouldn't have said what he said to him. Suddenly, the threads unwrapped from around Kurai as Kiken and the rest of the so dubbed ‘Jounin Brothers’ took a seat in the room Kurai sat down on the edge of his bed, he knew he had a lot of questions to answer.
“First off, that was just a personal journal with thoughts written in it, and as for the papers we were just talking about doing the whole missing nin thing, I'm a little upset that you guys don't trust us! I spent years as a missing nin, would I really be fuck-...that much of an idiot to return to that lifestyle?” Kurai asked, looking at the group. “Why don't you trust us?” he added, mainly looking at his dad.
“Give me a reason to! One of your group already tried to go missing nin, and you killed him, which was the right thing to do, but then you went for Miz-” Kiken said as he got cut off …
“And I explained that to you did I not?” Kurai said and asked, frustrated.
“Yeah but Jayden tried to go missing ninja once as well!” Jeordie added.
“So with two of your team already having attempted it, this is concerning!” Taki Hozuki said as he looked at Kurai.
“I'm not them…yeah maybe I expressed thoughts about doing it but I wouldn't, everyone has dark thoughts now and then it's normal!” Kurai fired back.
“Listen, because of this, we have no choice but to keep an eye on you guys at this point.” Zeb said to Kurai. Kurai sighed and rolled his eyes at the group.
“You are very disrespectful, you know that? I know Shikami ‘talked to you about that shit already!” Taki added to the conversation. The group snickered at the comment.
“It's one thing to say you're going to behave, and then to do it.” Kiken said, looking at his son!
“FINE! You want me to.be honest…I was thinking about it….but put YOURSELF in my shoes…kill one of your best friends! Tell me that wouldn't haunt you and make you feel like shit!” Kurai sighed and put his head on his hands. The room went silent! You could hear the rain coming down outside and people splashing in puddles outside. Taki sighed and sat by Kurai wrapping an arm around him!
“I…guess I can understand that…why didn't you just say it in the first place bro? I can't say I have been there but I guess none of us really stepped back to understand or at least try to. It's not your fault. It never was…even Zeb would tell you it was Zims fault! But to be the one who…alright man…just…” Taki tried to console Kurai but honestly it wasn't working. Kiken knew his son wasn't one to kill. Kurai was a talker but never really would kill intentionally, probably not even accidentally! He sat on the other side of him.
“Why don't you just open up about this? It's not…good to really keep it locked up.” Kiken said.
“Maybe he was trying to leave…but I shouldn't have killed him! Miz was trying to stop me. But I didn't have the willpower!” Kurai looked really upset about the whole ordeal! It's something he's been conflicted about ever since it happened.
“Why would you try to do the same thing he tried to do? If it didn't work for him, why do you think it would work for you Kurai?” Zeb asked as he lifted Kurai's chin to look up at him. “It didn't work for Zim, Jayden got lucky the night he tried…I really don't want to lose another one of you guys, I actually give a shit about you guys. Maybe we tease you, pick on you, have even beaten up on you guys ... .we do it because we care and we prefer, it be us or someone we trust around you guys! If there is a problem, come to one of us! I don't care if we are asleep or if it's some random time…we will be here for you guys!” Zeb said whole heartedly to Kurai.
“I guess you're right. Sorry I lied about it, I just don't know how to express my feelings very well or I express them the wrong way!” Kurai confessed.
After all was said and done, the Jounin Brothers would still be keeping an eye on Team Fuku, but at least the issue was cleared up! Team Fuku Kiri was still Team Fuku Kiri, no one was leaving Kiri! Which was a good thing, considering the alternative would end in death no matter how you look at it! Kurai laid back down after they left, it was his day off and he intended to keep it that way. The sounds of the storm raging outside lulled him back to sleep.
