A Misty Meeting (Private)

It was a cool and pleasant morning. Nietzsche was standing behind his desk looking down onto the village. The Mist had been unusually peaceful these past few weeks though Nietzsche knew that could not last forever, but he felt it was his duty to prolong the peace as long as possible. That was why he had been looking over the village dossiers for ninja of skill. He needed more ANBU, which he hoped would assist in keeping the village safe and enforcing his will as a Kage. He had been interviewing and testing individuals for the past couple days and he was starting to lose hope. All the ninja he had talked with had their hearts in the right place, but simply did not have the skill needed to be an ANBU or hunter-nin. He was now waiting for one: Raiu Inazuma. He rather hoped that this interveiw would go differently than the last few. What he was looking for in an ANBU operative was someone who was strong, observant, smart, and most of all loyal. Maybe this Inazuma person would prove to be all those things or, if she followed the recent trend in ANBU hopefuls, she would be an utter dissappointment.

Nietzsche had a whole slew of tests for this applicants and lately he wondered if they were too hard, because as of yet no one had cleared all of them. These thoughts were all jumbled in his head making it hurt a bit. Clearing his head with a shake he took a seat in his chair and waited for Inazuma. It wouldn't be long now, so Nietzsche braced himself for another boring interview. While waiting he idly filled out some paperwork regarding a wave immigrants that had just entered the Mist.

Inazuma stared upwards, her eyes tracing the outline of the Kirigakure administrative center. She placed her right hand over her left chest, feeling the scroll tucked within her cloak. She felt a slight flutter in her chest... A feeling of excitement she had not felt in a long time. The scroll was a letter sent to her directly from the Mizukage, issuing a summons for a meeting. Though it was not stipulated in the message, she had heard rumors that the new leader of the Mist was holding interviews for potential positions in the city's ANBU organization. The young shinobi's heart was in her throat as she moved through the red oak doors, pushing aside the wood with a slight huff. Ina walked along the spiraling corridor, slightly taking her higher and higher up the building. She let out a huff as she passed through the somewhat familiar corridor, finally reaching her destination after another couple minutes of walking. As she approached the door she stopped short of it, adjusting her cloak around herself. She sighed once again, trying to maintain an appearance of cool confidence. She lifted her left hand slowly, and powerfully knocked on the door.

*Knock, knock, knock*

Nietzsche sighed as he heard the knocking at his chamber door. He then quickly cleared his desk top of any papers leaving only Inazuma’s dossier on his desk. He then responded to the knocking with a rather lazy yet polite: “Come in and please close the door behind you.” The first test had already begun and the person on the other side of the door, presumably Inazuma, probably didn’t even know it-it was a test of personality. Nietzsche now lay back in his chair and put his feet up on his mahogany desk. Around his right index finger spun a tri pointed kunai. Overall Nietzsche was trying to look as relaxed as possible. Though this relaxed state was merely a façade. Underneath it he was ready to watch every move the girl named Inazuma made and analyze every word she said. He wondered if she would take the initiative and introduce herself. One could often tell a lot from a person’s mannerisms and speech; this meeting would be no exception.

Inazuma reached out, her fingers grasping the cool bronze beneath her fingers. She took on more deep breathe before turning the handle. As she crossed the threshold she spoke clearly and confidently. "Lord Mizukage," she spoke as she gave a small bow, "I am Raiu Inazuma." With that the young girl closed the door behind her with a light thud. Quickly she approached the desk where the young kage sat spinning a kunai around his finger. Her mind as racing but her mouth formed the right words, "I'm here in response to your summons. How may I help you sir?"
