So, Zachariah had these two people/bodies in his basement. One was already dead, his head lying on the floor next to him. The other wasn't in the best of shapes, but Zachariah had not planned for the wound to kill with anything short of infection, even thinking he had sealed some of the wound with heat. Well, even as he returned from his dimension with another speed-birthed child, gained through the standard methods, and took blood to preform the sacrifice, the original body, the soulless vessel, was still living and breathing as Zachariah walked off with with duplicate of the body. Little did he expect the person, just seconds later, to die of a wound he had thought non-lethal.
