Re: Impressing Echo: Navi's Chance (PRIVATE)

"Kekkai Genkai yeah?" Echo notes analyzing the technique with his eyes "Such a supplementary skill draws on chakra and even projects the chakra, it's like saying me firing a Masendan is fair in a fight with only chakra enhancements allowed...besides....I can get even stronger at a moments notice" He says with another shrug as Navi backs away, the boy is quite lucky he isn't an enemy or he'd be faced with Echo's more dangerous skills and the actual bite of his blade rather then simple shield bashes and the other things Echo has under his sleeve.
Navi shrugged as he responded, "Kekkei Genkai come in all forms, chakra projection included. A bloodline can come in the form of dojutsu or otherwise, just because its form is unique doesn't classify it as a ninjutsu."
Echo had clearly been holding back slightly having used his shield instead of his blade, although Navi had been holding back to. He could have used one sword to stop the shield and the other to stab him in the back. What could've been done had no consequence though, so Navi shoved all those thoughts out of his mind.
"Hey Navi..? How fast can you duck?" He asks ominously his grin widening in a vulpine fashion leaving the threat hanging Echo's speed enough to instantly close the distance and strike if he so chose, the wind still swirling around him....Echo is obviously still going to cheat...it's just how he fights, since when do Ninja's care about fighting fair anyway?
Navi didn't even need the Navagan to confirm that Echo was about to cheat. The wind currents in the cyclone were still spinning and Echo's chakra level was still fluctuating. Plus, Echo's muscles seemed to lean forward as if he was waiting to lunge forward in a moments notice. None of that mattered though, as Echo's smile gave it all away. "I guess I can duck pretty fast," Navi started slowly, "how good is your aim?".
With the blur of a handsign a bright light illusion would blind Echo immediately, giving him no vision or access to his Sharingan. Navi had no doubt that Echo would be able to break out of the genjutsu quickly, but first he would have to figure out that it was a genjutsu, and not a physical flash of light. With the window of time he had given himself, Navi immediately replaced himself with a completely identical clone. The entire movement was executed smoothly and flawlessly, the real Navi vanishing from view and crouching entirely concealed from view and senses in a nearby tree. The clone had evenly distributed chakra in order to fool even the Sharingan on close inspection.
The real Navi would watch closely with his Navagan, while his clone would draw a couple shuriken with lightning quick speed, using the sides of his fingers to hold them while still clutching the hilt of each blade. With an untraceable gesture Navi threw both shuriken at the center of Echo's chest.
Even if Echo was able to decipher it was a genjutsu immediately, he would need incredibly fast reflexes to be able to deal with the shuriken being thrown. They were traveling at a speed that would practically overtake the sound barrier, a movement so fast it would be invisible to the naked eye. After just emerging out of being blinded, even for Echo, the attack would at the very least prove to be a close call. Navi's clone rushed forward with both swords drawn, utilizing blinding speed to swing both swords at Echo, following up the projectile attack with a close quarters encounter.

The sword Caliburn's special ability immediately dispels the Genjutsu Echo's goggles blocking out the flash of light as he immediately bursts forward with a sonic boom resounding his step Echo's feet leaving the ground as he manipulates the wind around him to grant flight, the dash starting just as the boy begins his handsign Echo's speed allowing him to close the distance nearly instantly Nine tails of V1 chakra sending him bursting forward with even greater speed, the charge begins just as the boy begins his handsign and Echo's rather cheap move is set by only a flash of red the blade of Caliburn resting against the side of Navi's neck His tails arched forward ready to impale several ligaments in his arms and sides the nine tails curving near Navi's skin the heat radiating from them an ominous testament to what Navi would endure if Echo were to snap the trap so to speak, Echo's speed is the stuff of Legend and it would take an act of divine intervention for the boy to escape Echo's enhanced speed.
He awaits a word of surrender from a definite candidate for ANBU Captain in Echo's mind...though he of course still has to show up the boy, He does claim to be the strongest in Konoha after all...plus that Yamaki clan Kekkai Genkai is pretty strong, there wasn't much need to hold back.

Navi's eyes grew wide as his Navagan sensed the Genjutsu being dispelled almost instantaneously after being cast. Echo hadn't dispelled it with his Sharingan, it was done too quickly, the blade he was holding must have had something to do with it.
With almost no time to react Navi sensed and predicted Echo's muscles lunging forward and his chakra spike as he manipulated the waves around him. In response Navi flapped his wings upwards, a last resort evasive move as Navi quickly became airborne. Navi readies his swords, and channels an impressive blend of fire, wind, and lightning chakra into them, creating the desperate hope that he will be able to repel Echo.
Navi's heart sinks as his Navagan eyes detect the Kyuubi chakra coming forth, and he watches as the red chakra cloaks around Echo, granting him a speed that even Navi can barely trace. Echo's powerful blade collides at full force with both of Navi's ANBU swords, causing a magnificent clash of steel to sound on contact. While Navi had more strength in his position, Echo's momentum when blended with the Kyuubi chakra would overpower his defense, causing Navi to land hard on his back with Echo on top of him.
Navi would normally be able to use the lightning chakra concentrated in his swords to shock Echo, but with the Kyuubi aura around around him the attack would most likely prove useless.
The clash was held for a few moments until Navi realized it was all over. Despite his ability to stop Echo's main attack, the tails of his powerful cloak still loomed over him, signalling Navi's inevitable defeat.
"It looks like you got me sir," Navi said with a small amount of disappointment in his voice. With activation of Kyuubi it was only a matter of time before Echo would overtake him. It was somewhat of a cheap move, but it was expected as Echo had no doubt aimed to win the fight from the beginning. Despite his loss, Navi felt like he had put on a good show against Echo, and felt confident Echo would promote and give him the position.
Especially with Echo's departure, he would no doubt need a lower ranked but skilled captain to take over the ANBU administrative duties while he was gone. Navi watched Echo, listening for his response and awaiting his thoughts about the intense fight that just took place.

"Sorry about curbing ya like that kid, but I got a tight schedule" He begins the blade flashing away as the Kyuubi's chakra fades, he pushes off of his subordinate his shield being clipped to his back once more in between the strange looking tonfa at his sides.
He stretches a bit before turning towards the gates once more "Keep up the missions, my earlier declaration stands, This unit follows Hokage-sama, you follow his orders." He waves over his shoulders as he crosses the threshold of the gate
"You got my vote if a new Captain is to be instated though, Good luck Navi Yamaki." With that Echo vanishes in a shunshin blurring forward in a burst of speed....he stayed any longer and his love for his village would root him into the ground.

Navi dusts himself off and stands up, sheathing his two swords as he listens to Echo's words.

It didn't even need to be said, the ANBU always followed the Hokage, whether there was a captain or not. Navi grumbled a "Yes, sir." as Echo started to leave, crossing through the main gates.
"You got my vote if a new Captain is to be instated though, Good luck Navi Yamaki." With that Echo vanishes in a shunshin blurring forward in a burst of speed....he stayed any longer and his love for his village would root him into the ground.
Navi's face lit up as he said this, "A recommendation from Echo Uchiha, perfect..." he thought to himself. Navi would go to the Hokage's office soon, as Viper was most likely looking for a Lieutenant that would look after Echo's ANBU administrative duties for the time he was gone.
Navi first decided to take a break though, as despite Echo's support, Viper himself would probably want to test him as well...
