Mangetsu walked around his village bored on the misty morning. The village was usually misty in the morning, rainy in the afternoons and in the evenings. He had received a scroll from a fellow shinobi of a higher rank. Upon opening the scroll he read the assignment that had been given to him. He read the mission as a grin appeared on his face. “Ah mission eh? This will be fun.” Mangetsu said with sarcasm. At least this would break the boredom Mangetsu was dealing with at the moment. He folded up the scroll and tucked it away after he figured out his plan of action.
Mangetsu turned into a puddle and began to move across the ground, and considering there were already many puddles on the ground it made transportation that much easier for him. The Hozuki clan is notorious for turning into water. In fact that is what their bodies are made out of is water. But due to this they have to drink a lot of water. There are very few members of the Hozuki clan around today, but those that are around still have the special Hydrification Technique. This technique is what helps the clan members of today.
Mangetsu has a general idea where the pit may be. He had overheard some villagers when they were walking by his puddle; they were planning on betting on a animal fight that was scheduled inside the village in an underground area. “They take interest in such minor things. They could be doing something worth there time instead they fight animals and then kill them.” Mangetsu said as he went through the village. No one probably even noticed his moving puddle, but that is how he preferred it. The water kept his identity anonymous and it also kept him hidden. He traveled to a small crumbling building that was once a restaurant. He stayed hidden in his puddle for quite some time before he heard people nearby. From what they said there would be a fight tonight in this building underground. “So this is definitely the place. Meh, guess I should figure out how to get inside and take a look around.” Mangetsu said as he stayed in his puddle in the same spot. He had not moved an inch for quite a while, but being in this position did not bother him in the least. When you are practically water, not much really bothers you.
The plan was simple, as soon as he knew it would be safe, he would enter the building by sliding under the door and he would stay a puddle until he thoroughly checked the place out. He would then become his other form and wait and hide until the people would arrive then he would become a puddle again and find out exactly who the pit boss is. After a couple of hours, it had become late afternoon and the area was clear. Whether the villagers didn’t care to be there in that part of town as late as it was or whether the rain was keeping them in he didn’t know. He did see that this was his opportunity to go into the building. He slid underneath the door and down a dingy damp hallway. Animal sounds were coming from a room just up the hall. Emerging from his puddle and into his other form he over looked all the animals, some of which were cut up and scratched up and a small box in the corner containing the carcasses of dead animals. “Bet they dispose of those after every other show. Eh, it’s sad!” Mangetsu said looking over the animals, He heard voices and immediately turned into a puddle.
Sliding across the floor he was able to see a older man walk by asking about the bets and which animals were fighting that evening, after the assumed boss and his workers were done having their conversations, He had heard a couple of names mentioned, and he knew one of the names was that of the pit boss. Mangetsu had discovered the venue, the pit boss and the animals being used for the fights. As he slid away, under the door and off towards the kages building, Mangetsu replayed all the images and sounds in his head. When he arrived at the kages building he left his puddle form and made sure to write it each and every detail down and turn it in.
