Mist Uberwater
Thu Nov 08, 2012 2:33 pm
Rin was having breakfast, when he decided he will spend this day training in the forest. What gave him the idea was a drop of soup, that fell from his spoon back into his bowl. He saw ripple effect. When he was done, he got all his equipment and left for his training. He took a way a bit away from main streets avoiding noise and rabble. The boy needed no interruption as he was already thinking about the training. He knew just the spot where he could train near water and he knew it was very unlikely anybody would distract him.
A few minutes later he found the spot. It was a small clearing and a shallow watercourse. Nobody seamed to be around. The water here came from a nearby waterfall and was probably much bigger before, but now the water found a better way to flow, leaving this one as it is. Rin took off his shoes and top and left them on shore together with most of his equipment taking only one kunai with him. He wouldn't normally lower his guard so much, but since he was in the village territory it was very unlikely he would get attacked. The young shinobi got to the middle of the flow. Water here was almost up to his knees, it was perfect allowing him to practice footwork with some resistance while not disturbing more of his movement leaving all the upper part in the air. Rin exhaled and assumed him first stance, he was ready for his warm up.
First he did some easier acrobatics and kicks, then taijutsu movements. After 10 minutes of that he found himself ready for his water training. His aim was to use water chakra to attract and repel water drops he kicks into air. It was an exercise for both chakra control, reaction and speed. And it tired him pretty quickly. Kicking the water up into air, focusing on one drop, then thrusting his hand and absorbing the water into a bigger drop in his palm, then after repeating the for a few times he would repulse the water shooting it a few meters back into the flow. When he no longer could use his hands, he sat down near the runlet and used what was left of his concentration to make his chakra control more precise. In a meditative pose he would extend his chakra flow into the water flow next to him, infusing it with his chakra. He would sit like that for an hour or two, then make a 20 minute break, during which he would drink some water and do some acrobatics, after the break he would sit down again and repeat the chakra precision training. Sometimes he would stand up and try some more of water kicking, attracting and repelling for a change. When there were two hours left until nightfall he packed up and returned to the village, getting something to eat after a whole day of water diet.

A few days later Rin can back to the same spot for training. This time bringing some wooden planks, ropes and nails. He intended to make it somewhat like his secret training place. It was in nature, there were both shallow and deeper watercourses here, there were rocks and trees for target practices and various other exercises. First he made a pair of dummies he could kick, punch and use weapons on. He decided to continue building some other day and spend the rest of this one training. This time he would focus more on his constitution, with some chakra control training. After leaving all the equipment except one kunai and lower part of his clothes with everything he brought today, he began his training with standard push ups, kicks, some taijutsu. Then he walked to where the runlet joins with the main current, where it was quite deeper, and swam for half an hour. It was both an exercise and a break. When he was done he sat down near the water in a meditative pose. With his eyes closer Rin infused all the water on his skin and in his hair with his chakra, then manipulated his chakra to move the water down from his body. In a minute the boy was fully dry and the water that used to be on him was now in his right palm. He stood up and blew this chakra infused water from his palm back into the runlet, then turned around and walked up to the dummies already thinking what to practice next. He tried punching and kicking them and noticed that while his attacks are good in speed, but really lack in damage. A shortcut to damage is to expel some chakra with each attack. Practicing this skill seamed worthwhile, so that's what Rin did. After focusing some chakra in a fist he'd slam it in a dummy expelling the chakra at the same time. He was doing it for a better part of a hour until he was totally beat, falling backwards on the ground, breathing heavily. This training was exhausting both his physical stamina as well as his chakra reserves and concentration. But he could clearly see the progress, one dummy was practically a pile of wood. It was enough of training for today. Rin went for a swim and then after taking his stuff left for a snack and then home.

Next day Rin came back with more supplies. He constructed a little roof to protect him from rain when needed. Today he had planned a training for speed and reaction. When he was done with the roof he did same as before, got half naked and taking only one kunai with him he walked to the middle of the runlet. The training was about noticing and focusing on tiny objects - water drops. Rin took a stance and began, kicking water into air and trying to hit it with water chakra infused hands. This was not as tiring as yesterday's training, so he continued it for good four hours. When he was done he could focus on the drops and manage to hit up to three of them directly before they fell down. After making a small break, taking a drink and a little snack, he proceeded to the next training he had planned. For this one he needed another kunai. He would drop the kunai on the ground, then focus chakra on one of his feets and pull the kunai to it. Then he would start spinning and after three of four rotations he would release the chakra trying to hit a dummy with the kunai. It didn't really work at first, but soon he got how to track his target while spinning. It was a new way to use his senses. When he could hit seven out of ten tries, he would increase his rotation speed forcing his senses even sharper. After roughly one hour of practice with this he began doing back flips and throw the kunai. Next: throw both kunais at the same time and at different targets. After that: have one kunai at a feet with chakra and another in hand, start spinning on one leg, then do a backflip and throw both kunais at the same target.

Another day dawned. Today was a day for training and Rin got to the usual spot. As he was already quite good at controlling water, well at least he's been doing good progress with it, he decided to go purely physical today. After finishing his today's share of building and warming up doing that, he got nearly naked and jumped into water. And he didn't get out for good five hours. At first he was just swimming in circles, then he did some diving and fast swimming, and later he decided to do taijutsu moves in the water with his upper body part while using only his legs to stay on the surface. It was hard and it needed quite a lot concentration. But it was even more exhausting than it was difficult. Pretty soon Rin was nearly beat and if on the ground he'd probably fall on the ground, but here he just floated on the water breathing deeply so he wouldn't sink. Before he could rest he decided to force his body some more and began swimming in circles again. Even being very tired he just continued circling and circling. The clouds covering the area floated away and sun appeared. It was a bit uncommon in Hidden Mist, but it was pleasant. Rin left the water and headed back to where his stuff was. There he began other physical exercises like push ups upside down and back flips from a sitting position. When he felt he was more wet than when he left the water, he jumped in again and repeated the in water taijutsu moves. After that diving and circling again. This is how his whole day was - training like hell and all pauses replaced with different exercises, non stop. When the sun hid promising not to appear that day, Rin went home and slept for 14 hours.

Tonight Rin was training on his chakra control. Yes tonight. It was well past nightfall and he was in his usual training spot, standing on water half naked. He left most of his equipment at home, bringing here only his ninjato and a pair of kunais. He did not really need much weaponry as he had those chakra cannons implanted in his palms now. So with that thought he left even those weapons he brought here back on the ground with his upper clothing. Actually he was now a bit farther away than he'd normally go, he was standing on a lake. The water was very still and it was reflecting the moon above him. Actually it felt like standing on the night sky itself as everything was reflected by water. Rin felt at peace, as he was keeping his chakra concentrated on his feet to be able to stand like this. At the same time he was releasing some of it into water. He was standing like this, still, with his eyes closed, for a few minutes now gathering the force water beneath him. Then he slowly opened his eyes and looked down where he saw himself and many stars above. The water was so still it seamed like he was standing on perfectly plain mirror. The boy raised on foot and then touched the water with it. Ripples came shooting from the contact, spreading out as he released some more chakra into water. This was the trigger, he smiled and after waiting a moment he jumped back making a flip and landing on water several meters away. Then another moment passed and it seamed like an hour. Suddenly where the boy just stood rose a pillar of water and because of the reflection it seamed like it was connecting the two skies. Rin formed a hand seal and three more of such pillars shot from the lake, rising up into the night, then after a moment crashing down into the lake's surface sending small waves throughout it. Rin was quite happy with the results of his training. For a few days he was trying to make this work now. And it seamed he was getting close to perfecting it. A new and much more powerful technique! No, the most powerful in his arsenal so far - the water dragon! This technique was a must-have for any decent water attuned shinobi. And Rin aimed to be a first class one.
When the water calmed down again and the waves stopped, the boy sat down on the water, assuming a meditative pose and closing his eyes. He was now slowly but steady releasing big amounts of chakra into the water. It was a preparation for the next try, but he also took the opportunity to test his chakra sensing abilities. With his chakra deep in the lake, Rin was feeling the mass of water bellow him, he was also feeling much life down there. If night is considered peaceful for humans, it was certainly not so peaceful in nature and in the lake. While it was true that much of the life down there was still, there was a lot of movement too, some simply swimming around and some making sudden moves trying to survive or hunting their prey. Rin liked nature and its order and there was certainly an order down there. The buy shifted his attention to the water itself, instead of the life in it. He was now feeling the huge mass, the slow and powerful flow of the nearby river that was feeding this lake. He felt peace in water, it was after all one of the primal elements, it was part of the order. Then he felt earth as his chakra reached the bottom and the coast, soon it had spread throughout the whole lake having infused all of it. Rin's eyes opened and a faint smile marked his face as he stood up and made his way to where he had left his stuff on the ground. As soon as he set foot on the ground he turned around to face the lake. Like before the water was still as mirror, a mirror soon to be shattered, thought Rin as he made few hand seals. For a moment nothing happened, then suddenly the water shivered as a huge pillar shot into the sky, the water in the air shaped as a dragon's head. Rin smiled widely "It's complete" and suddenly jumped back on water making his was towards his creation. The dragon moved back a bit, like a snake preparing to bite, and then shot forward heading straight for the boy. The smile on his face did not disappear as he saw all that force coming at him. He made another hand seal and stopped. The dragon was crushing down on him, making a sound similar to a roar - just like a real dragon would, and then the boy raised his hand. A chakra pulse came out of his palm and the dragon instantly stopped. Then after a moment in which seamed that the whole world had frozen, the dragon exploded dispersing all that water into thousands of tiny drops that rained down back into the lake restoring its water. Rin did not use the chakra cannon for that last feat. It was his creation - it obeyed him. The boy remained still as the water was returning to its source, he was looking at the sky, admiring it. The joy of such power at his control was slowly transforming into satisfaction of having completed the technique. The smile was slowly fading away too. Somewhere there, suppressed by his other emotions, appeared the feeling of exhaustion. Rin recognized it and slowly made his way back. Now being all wet he gathered his equipment and took a last good look at the lake. It was now all still again - just like a mirror, as if nothing had happened. Two skies, two moons and two times uncountable amount of stars. Rin bowed slighty "Thank you." and disappeared into the dark.

It was an early morning - still dark outside. Rin was already awake as he planned his training session to begin early today. Laying on his back in his bed he was blindly watching the ceiling as his head was full of thoughts and ideas. He stood up and slowly walked out of his room grabbing a towel on his way out. He climbed down stairs to the first floor and get into the bathroom. That was one of the ideas - to take a morning shower before leaving for his training. And actually this was the first part of the training itself. While in the shower Rin released some of his chakra and gathered it at the hole through which the water would flow out, preventing it from leaving and causing it rise up to his knees. Then he made a hand seal and closed his eyes to concentrate. Small drops of water would begin to rise up after separating from the main mass at his legs. After a moment more and more drops would begin to rise forming small pillars. They would not rise above the boy's head though, floating in the air around him. As more and more of the water was rising it began to form into a sphere of a sort with the boy in the middle. When it was complete there was no water at his feet - everything was in the air and whatever water was coming from the shower would be immediately absorbed by the sphere. Rin smiled and opened his eyes. He raised his hand to turn off the water flow from the shower, there was enough water already. Then he made another hand seal and the water began to spin around him as well as float down a little. In a few moments his head came out of the sphere allowing him to breathe normally again. The water now surrounded his body and was spinning quite fast. Rin made another seal and increased the water's pressure a bit. He smiled as he thought of a name for this move "Water Release: Swirling Sponge Ball" it was a silly thing, as he'd probably never do this again, but still it was good for chakra control training. The boy moved his hands so they would go against the swirl's flow. It was hard, but he thought it was a nice to way warm his muscles up. Without the constant chakra input and control the swirl only lasted a minute or two before it stopped spinning and started to break down. Then Rin released the water through the pipe he had closed with his chakra and left the bath.
He geared up light, leaving most of his equipment and only taking a pair of kunais with him. When he left the house, it was no longer dark outside. He started by running a few circles around his house and then into the forest. Today he would focus more on physical training over chakra training. When running through the forest the boy was admiring the nature around him, it was a good way to take his attention off his fatigue, letting him to push his limits easier. He was running for a few hours, passing the sea, in the forest, around the village, near the harbor, in the forest again. Well, mostly in the forest as he liked it there the most. Sometimes he would stop and do some push ups, then get on with the running again. Finally he got to his usual training spot with no people around. Here he had already built a little arbor, where he could stay dry and warm during rain and such. It was made entirely of wood, while the roof was covered in straws. Rin would sometimes come here just to read a book. There were also big wood pillars for training here and a few dummies for precision practice. The boy stopped in front of those. Now he would train his kicks, as they could really use some work. He began to repeatedly kick one of the pillars. At about 300 he switched legs and continued kicking now from the other side. When he reached three hundred with that other leg, he changed from side kick to a front one - more like a leg push. The intention was to train all muscle chains equally, not focusing on a single movement, but increasing the body's ability in general. When he was done with this kick he would a spin kick and back kick. Then - back to push ups, at first standard ones, then just on fingers, then on one hand and after that on one hand's fingers. He learned that push ups on one finger were not in his level yet. After such a training course Rin was pretty much drowning in his own sweat, so he jumped into water and continued his training there. In the water he would swim around at first, then he practiced one move he had in mind from the morning. It was quite the opposite from the one he performed in the shower. Not gather the water around him, but instead repel it and push it away from oneself. It was harder than he thought, as it was the water that kept him floating on the surface. so if he succeeded in pushing the water away, then he would start falling down and if he continued to repel the water, then he'd fall right down to the bottom. So after a few unsuccessful attempts he decided to drop the idea and get back to physical training. Rin got to the runlet where water barely reached his knees. Here he would practice his taijutsu. Actually he had an idea of incorporating his chakra cannons into the basic taijutsu evolving it into something else. After assuming his first stance he opened up with a sudden front kick leveling some of the water into the air, then continued with a few punches at his imaginary opponent and following up with a chakra cannon burst from his right palm. He added a flip to the move - if it was used against a person, he would now jump right behind them and bam! Another chakra burst from his left palm this time. He was at it for a better part of the day and when he was done, he returned home.
