Mack rolled out of bed and stood on his feet. He was a bit wobbly at first, but eventually, his feet firmed underneath him and he stood in an erect posture. Mack stretched out, reaching his arms high above his head towards the sky, leaning his head back and opening his mouth wide, yawning. Mack then dropped to the floor and began to fall face-first, as if he was about to face-plant on the cold, hardwood floor. But just as Mack was about to hit the ground, his arms shot out from his sides and caught him in a perfect pushup position. He deftly performed 100 pushups in only 85 seconds, a record for him, his previous record had been 90. Mack smiled, he felt that luck was on his side today, he felt that today he was going to do something big, something important. Mack took a hot shower, all of his previous feelings of drowsiness going down the drain with the warm water. He stepped out, got dressed in his usual attire, ate a quick breakfast, popped a cigar in his mouth, and left. When he was out of his apartment building, Mack lit his cigar with a lighter that he kept in his pocket, the bittersweet taste of the tobacco filled Mack’s mouth. Mack sighed joyfully, he was filled with a new peace and tranquility that he got when he smoked a cigar. Listening carefully, Mack heard that there seemed to be some sort of ruckus coming from the east. Activating his byakugan, Mack saw a ring of people about 500 meters to the east, they were all gathered around 2 men viciously battling. These two men had moderately powerful chakra signatures, and Mack could tell by observing that they were not new to the ninja arts. Mack observed as one man shot out a medium-sized bullet of fire, while the other, faster man, leaped backwards just in time to escape the attack. Mack observed the people around them, they were mostly drunken men, pumping their fists and cheering the two fighters on. Mack decided that it would be fun if he got involved. Mack ran his way over to the scene of the fight using his full speed, at this point, he was almost teleporting he was so fast. Mack weaved his way through the crowd and appeared to teleport right between the two fighting men, just as one of them swung a bo staff aimed at the other’s right temple. Mack caught the bo staff in his right hand, as the man was to his right, and wrenched it from the weaker man’s hand. Mack cracked the man who had aimed the strike in his temple with the staff, causing him to fall to the ground unconscious. He was dragged out of the ring by a spectator. Mack could see behind him with the byakugan while he cracked the man in the temple, so he could see as the other man started to form hand seals. Before the man even had the chance to finish his hand seals, Mack used his immense speed to spin around and sweep the man’s legs out from under him with the bo staff. The man fell to the ground and Mack slammed the staff down into his stomach, causing him to be so badly winded that he had to be dragged out of the ring like the other man. Mack snapped the bo staff on his knee and threw the two halves into the crowd. Grinning, Mack shouted, “Does anybody want to take me on?” For a good minute, Mack just stood there chuckling, reveling in his power; everybody was too scared to fight him. All of a sudden, Mack heard a loud, deep voice sound from outside of the ring of spectators, “I’ll fight you,” the voice boomed ominously. Mack glanced forward at the source of the voice, he saw a man, more like a giant, a good 12 feet tall, twice Mack’s height, and muscled like King Kong. Mack heard whispers, and from what he found out from eavesdropping on the conversations taking place. Apparently this man was an extremely powerful chunnin-level shinobi from Kumogakure, there were many legends about him. Apparently he was born with some sort of rare deformity that made him the size of a giant and gave him superhuman strength. Mack summed up the man in front of him: he had no shirt on, so his freakishly large muscles appeared to be bulging out of his skin. The man wore simple camo pants and brown sandals. He had a large, wooden baseball bat strapped across his back, so that the handle was facing up over his left shoulder, allowing for an easy draw. The man had a perfectly balled head and cleanly shaven face. His face was red with anger. Mack gulped, questioning whether he should have messed with this guy.
“Hey man,” the man said mockingly, “You know those two guys you just beat the crap out of? Well those were my brothers, and now you’re going to pay for laying a finger on them!” The man said ominously, cracking his knuckles. He drew his baseball bat from his back and began to charge at Mack, luckily for Mack, the man was incredibly slow, so Mack did not have to worry much about getting hit. Mack easily stepped back as the man swung the bat inches away from his face. Mack merely grinned, perhaps this would not be as hard as he had anticipated; however, the man continued and pursued Mack. He continued to move forward, swinging his bat in any attempt to hit Mack. There was only so far of a distance that Mack could retreat and as the man continued to advance, swinging his bat, Mack got closer to the wall behind him. This man had incredible endurance, he was not getting tired at all despite vigorously swinging his bat back and forth, continuously. Eventually, the guy had Mack backed up against the wall, and was about to go for a kill shot, taking the bat to Mack’s temple. The bat came arcing in a downwards swing, right towards Mack’s temple. Mack was forced to make a last minute decision as the swing came in. He glanced at a trash bag in the corner of the alley they were in, and after forming a few hand seals, substituted with it right as the bat was about to hit him. Mack was able to do this due to his immense, teleportation-like speed. The man’s bat met the trash bag that Mack had substituted with, tearing it in half and sending trash everywhere. Mack substituted into the alley where the trash bag had been, panting, hands on his knees. The man turned around and saw the exhausted Mack, immediately charging forward again, bellowing a fearsome war cry as he ran. The man was a good 15 meters away, but was moving significantly faster this time, he was not as fast as Mack, but not far from it either. Mack decided that it was time to stop playing around and end this fight once and for all. Just as the man was upon him, Mack formed the ram hand seal, body flickering behind the massive behemoth at well over teleportation speed. Once behind the man, Mack used 128 palms and swiftly struck 128 of the man’s tenketsu with his gentle fist style, causing the man to fall to the ground, immobilized. Mack grinned over the man’s immobilized body, adjusting his fedora.
“You thought you had me there for a second, didn’t you big guy? Hah, well hate to break it to you, but you’ll never be as good as me. Not in a million years...” Mack taunted the man. The man was probably enraged right now, but could not get up to strike back at Mack. Mack began to laugh hysterically at the man’s hopelessness and inability to retaliate. He glances once again into the crowd, “Any more tough guys out there?” He says, awaiting a response. After a few seconds of no answers, Mack merely grins and walks away from the scene, shaking his head. The crowd must not have known about the capabilities of the byakugan, for as Mack walked away from the scene, some guy with a black sword charged towards Mack’s back, thinking that Mack could not see him. Just as the man was about to slice through Mack with the sword, Mack spun around and caught the man’s wrist with his left hand, snapping it with his far superior strength; the man hollered out in pain. This caused the sword to fall from the man’s hand, plummeting towards the ground. Mack caught the falling sword with his right hand, moulding his wind chakra into it and causing it to become very sharp. The man looked to be some sort of emo, long, black hair, many piercings, eye makeup, black clothes. He disgusted Mack. Still holding the man’s wrist with his left hand and the sword with his right, Mack sliced right through the top of the man’s head all the way down his body, bisecting him the long way. This caused a mess of blood, internal organs, and intestines to litter the ground where the man had been standing. His two halves lay on opposite sides of each other. Mack thought about throwing the wretched sword into the mess, but decided to keep it instead.
With a cheery smile, Mack warned the people in the crowd, “Don’t mess with me...” before walking away. Whistling a tune as he walked, Mack pondered where to go next. There were many possibilities, he could go to the bar, head home, stroll around town, or go to the training grounds to polish his skills a bit. Mack decided on training. Perhaps if he had trained a bit more before encountering that giant man, the whole fight could have gone much smoother. Mack strolled up to the training grounds at a casual pace, he was in no hurry. The sun was at it’s peak, it must have been around noon, he still had the whole day ahead of him. When he reached about a mile away from the training grounds, he noticed that there was a young boy there, he must have been an academy student not even 10 years old, he was training his ninja skills. The boy was throwing kunai and shuriken at some wooden training dummies; he had surprisingly good accuracy. Mack grinned sprinting up to the training ground at full speed, almost teleporting there.
Upon arrival, Mack approached the boy, and tapping him on the shoulder said, “Hey, I would like to train a new technique of mine, would you please help me? I’ll give you something special if you do.”
Mack saw the boy ponder for a moment, before replying, “Okay.” Mack grinned, he could definitely put this boy to good use. Mack retreated a good 10 meters from the boy. “I need you to throw a bunch of weapons at me. Don’t worry, I won’t be hurt,” Mack saw the boy shrug, before drawing 5 shuriken in one hand and 5 kunai in the other. Without hesitation, the boy launched all 10 weapons towards Mack. The boy was still young, so the weapons were kind of slow, but perfectly on target, they would be good practice for Mack. Mack had already trained his clan’s secret taijutsu enough, he decided that it was not time to train the rest of his clan’s secrets. As the weapons approached Mack, he focused on every single one of his tenketsu, perfectly aware of where they were in his body. With an immense amount of concentration, Mack expelled chakra from each one of these points at once, while spinning a full 360 degrees. This caused a large dome of Mack’s chakra to surround him just as the weapons would have hit him. The dome propelled the weapons backwards, knocking them uselessly to the ground. The Revolving Heaven technique had been much easier to perform than Mack had anticipated, even so, he was proud of himself for learning it so quickly. Over the course of the day, Mack continued to have the boy throw weapons at Mack, and he continued to use the same technique to block them. The boy watched with wide eyes each time.
It was now evening, and Mack and the boy had been training all day. Mack had gotten much bettered at his technique, while the boy’s shurikenjutsu had also improved drastically.
“Well,” Mack said, “I think you should go home now, it’s getting kind of late. Thank you very much for training with me though, and here is your gift,” Mack handed the boy the black sword that he had taken from the emo man that he had slaughtered; he had, of course, wiped all of the blood from the blade. The boy stared at his new weapon, wide-eyed, a foolish grin on his face.
“Thanks!” the boy said.
“No problem,” replied Mack, “Thanks for training with me. You’re very strong for such a little guy, perhaps someday we might meet again. Maybe I can even train you.”
They boy smiled at Mack and waved, before running home into the twilight. Mack grinned, he knew that the boy would be exceptionally powerful one day, he hoped that he had inspired him to live up to his full potential. Sticking his hands in his pockets, Mack strolled home to take a nap, it had been a long day.
