Ninja lessons

Mezurashii smiled as she watched the sun rise, her morning laps already done and her adoptive father had been dragged to the Hokage tower to help with paperwork, jumping onto her balcony window she enter her house and made a healthy breakfast, quickly showering she walked out the door right on time.

She lived farther away from the residential district, her house being surrounded by trees and the like. She enjoyed her walk and greeted the people she knew along the way, by the time she made it to class she only had about five minutes, however before she could open the door a group of academy students cut in front of her.

"Loser" the redhead heard one of the brats mutter, Mezurashii glared at her and squared her shoulders. Strutting into the room she walked passed and dropped one of her smoke bombs onto the floor.

The brats exclaimed when smoke erupted from their feet, obviously not seeing the goggle wearing girls trick. Grinning victoriously the girl took her seat in the empty back row. The class in an uproar at the explosion.

"Who did that?" the head-brat yelled, glaring at everyone. All were quiet, this group of brats were from some special clan so they probably thought themselves the best thing since chopsticks. Grinning, Mezurashii raised her hand, sensing the familiar chakra signal that was nearing.

"You! Why you little-"

"What is going on here?" the teacher asked as he walked through the open door, The redhead waved with her raised hand to the teacher and he nodded, before glaring at the only kids standing.

"She threw a smoke bomb at us!" one of the three brats yelled. The teacher raised an eyebrow, Mezurashii got comfortable for the show.

"Did you see her do it?" he asked and when they shook their heads he sighed and explained that there was no proof. This incited a very humorous argument on whether or not she was guilty and that quickly escalated to a lecture on ninja skills.

That got the brats to sit down, as far away from her as possible, and once the class calmed down... the lesson began.

Arashi Uzumaki, heir to the Uzumaki bloodline and last Konoha loyal Uzumaki steps through the hallway of the Shinobi Academy, the postponement of the Chuunin exams has given him time to prepare his abilities, of course the first thing he wishes is to further sharpen his mind.

Remedial lessons at the academy, his body is less honed then he'd like and this particular class happens to be Taijutsu sparring.

He walks in moments after the Taijutsu instructor, his blue irises scan the room is blazing red hair sticking out like a sore thumb.

He blinks once before moving to take his seat.

Uncaring of the events with a smoke bomb...it's harmless after all.

From the door, Itami observed the smoke bomb incident with a subtle smirk.
The little brats were all riled up and the girl seemed amused with their attempts to explain the sensei what happened. No proof was presented though and Itami didn't feel like helping them out. He never chose sides, he preferred watching from the sidelines. All in all, it provided a nice entertainment for Itami, who was boredly waiting for taijutsu class to start.
When the sensei finally hurried them all into their seats, Itami put his hands in his pockets and slowly headed towards the back row. He recognized some of the academy students but there was one particular student who looked a bit older than all of them. He seemed quite familiar but Itami couldn't pinpoint who exactly he was. He inwardly shrugged and sat down next to the girl who threw the smoke bomb.
The sensei already started the lesson and after about 5 minutes of listening, Itami realized he knew a lot about the material they were discussing so he started to pay less and less attention.

Mezurashii nodded politely to the white haired boy as he sat next to her. Noting the new-comer who seated himself a few rows from the front, she gazed at the board for a quick second before sighing to herself and pulling out some paper and pencils.

The goggle wearing girl then began to write down notes on a new jutsu idea she had, though she doesn't have the chakra for it yet she was sure this could work! Scribbling down other idea;s on the spare papers as she went, Mezurashii noticed she was being watched but dismissed it since she didn't feel a threat.

She smiled to herself, their sensei thought she was taking notes! Mezurashii's smile turn into a victorious grin, this meant she didn't have to listen to his lecture, and this guy had a habit of repeating things a million times over.

She flipped the paper for more room and continued to scribble idea's for idea's.

Itami was bored out of his mind. He looked at the girl next to him and noticed she was viciously scribbling something on a piece of paper. It didn't look like the lesson the sensei was presenting. Suddenly she started grinning and Itami just raised his eyebrows. He put his chin in his hands and kept staring at her sideways, without turning his head. In a boring lesson with nothing to do, she presented at least some entertainment. He considered saying something to her but he kept changing his mind. He wasn't much of a people person and he was always worried how people would react.

He looked at the paper she was writing on. It seemed like some type of a jutsu.
Itami's curiosity got the best of him and he leaned toward the red haired girl: "What's this?" he whispered.

Fundamental techniques, Kawarimi, Bunshin and Henge no jutsu, these are the bread and butter of any Shinobi worth their salt, and are the jutsu learned in the academy.

Some clan children learn other techniques while learning this as the clans traditions state.

Arashi when learning the 'Basic Three' was learning the sacred art of Fuinjutsu..

Now some would call him arrogant as he with the help of his clans chakra brush would begin drawing up exploding tags and sorting them into a neat pile next to them.

Each one is made with a practiced ease and fluid motions of the Uzumaki's wrist, they take no more then forty five seconds to create each and by the end of the lecture while he waits for Taijutsu training the stack is nearing fifteen strips high.

Mezurashii jumped slightly when she heard the boy's voice, turning to the white haired boy she smiled politely.

"It's a wind-type jutsu I've thought of, I haven't figured out a name but I think I've got the basic components down" she said as she looked down at the paper riddled with notes and diagrams. She glanced at him and saw his eyes intently on the paper.

"Actually, I was going to ask you a question" she said, looking down at the paper "I can't figure out how to balance the rotation of wind with the power impute. If you add too much rotation it spins out of control but to much power and the pressure explodes, and I can't figure out how to balance the two properly" Mezurashii glared at the sheet of calculations that was now mostly ink.

She moved the papers towards him so he could see it better. "Any idea's?"

Itami listened intently and tried to think of a solution. This was a hard question and he was suprised the girl was coming up with a complicated jutsu like this one. They were both still academy students after all. His respect of her grew a tiny bit though Itami never admitted it to himself.
He looked at the papers and pointed at an equation near the bottom and whispered back. "Lower the numbers here, that will steady the power. If you control the rotation with more chakra, it won't spinn out of control and you will be able to maintain the spinning, eventually making it stronger without the pressure of it exploding. At least I think that might work ... You will have to test it." He bit his lip and turned back to listen to the sensei although he wasn't actually listening. He was calculating the numbers in his head to see if he made a mistake or not. This jutsu was quite complicated.

Mezurashii smiled excitedly at him before turning back to my polite stature, it was so rare to find someone who actually knew what they were talking about!

"Thank you! Though the numbers here are required otherwise it can't take shape... oh wait, we can use a large amount of power to gain the initial shape and stability but then tune down the power just enough to gain stability. That should work... but you're right we'll need to test this out" Mezurashii admitted, smiling she wrote down a few more notes and turned to him.

"I'm Mezurashii, it's nice to meet you" she finally said, hopefully he wouldn't be like those arrogant boys who just say something smart and expect you to worship him, but he seemed different, kinder even. She hoped that they could get along, after all if he was smart enough to actually know what she was talking about then she was sure they could have some interesting conversations. Not the girls nowadays, they just keep talking about boys and Mezurashii thought that's kinda stupid when your a ninja.

Itami smiled to himself and looked back at the girl's notes. She was adding and correcting things now. Her idea seemed quite good to Itami and he was suprised when she said 'we' and not 'I'. Maybe that meant she didn't mind if he joined her, when she was going to test the jutsu out. He wondered if it would work ...

When she was finished, she turned to him and introduced herself. Itami noticed a hopeful kind of look in her eyes. As much as he was reserved sometimes, he didn't mind making new aquintances so he nodded, smiled and said: "My name is Itami Himitsu, pleasant to meet you as well."

This girl was different than most her age. As far as he noticed in the village, most teenage girls went around gossiping and only caring about their looks and boys. That annoyed Itami quite a lot and was one of the main reasons he didn't like to hang out with girls that much. But Mezurashii seemed smart and nice to talk to. He wondered if she was a good fighter. She certainly learned quick. Maybe they could spar sometime. He always enjoyed a challenge.

"Are you graduating soon?" Itami asked, curious.
