Welcome home

With crate in hand holding a solid number of those nice volcano flowers, Sett had returned home to see his father busy cooking something while his mother was out. Wondering where she had gone, the dirty Sett had set the crate onto the table with the thud sparking his father's attention. Sett couldn't help but smirk while resting both hands on the crate, leaning down until his head rested on the wooden box while looking up at his father.

" Could you be any quieter, momma's boy?" His father opened up with a chuckle, which made Sett lower his brow as he gawked up at his father. " That's not funny. Where is mama by the way?" Sett was rather attached to his parents, and with his mother expecting a little one, Sett felt rather protective of her. Irietsu, her own husband however, snorted to himself while setting his foot onto the table and looking down at Sett. " Aww, you sound worried. She's out gathering wood. Almost broke my arm when I told her not to, but she does what she wants and can take care of herself."

Sett had relaxed that furrowed brow and grinned up at his father. " Heheh, papa's whipped, isn't he?" Though, saying that, Sett should have expected Irietsu to bring that other planted foot up and crash it into Sett's face to kick him to the ground. Rolling onto his butt, Sett rubbed his face while glaring at his father. " What'd you do that for pappa!?" Sett got ready because his father came lunging from over the table with his foot landing square in front of Sett, almost stepping on Sett if Sett didn't move back a bit. " Ahh! You're crazy!"

" You arrogant, snot nosed brat! You take after me more than I thought." Irietsu said as Sett came to roll back away from him and onto his own feet. This was a usual occurrence for the 2, and yes his mother would jump in to break them up, but while she was preggos the two just took her loud word for the beating she'd usually give them.

Speaking of the ever capable mother, one could hear here a block away as she yelled at the twon from the entrance into the kitchen. " Knock it off, or I'll beat you both!" There she was, Nagaro Maya, Sett's beautiful mother. With such long, elegant blond hair to match her rather ecstatic personality, she was ready to crash those large blocks of firewood over both their heads.

Sett and Irietsu were quickly on their knees before her, arms resting over each others shoulder in a buddy-buddy way, so to speak. " We're behaving, see?" The two said in a weirdly choreographed tone that synchronized a bit too well. Sett's hair took after his mother's hair in length, while he retained his father's hair and eye colors. He had many of her looks as well, though he was along way from having her strength. As she set the wood in place, the two men of the family went to set everything up for dinner, Irietsu busy finishing the food, Sett placing the table right, Maya trying to work while Irietsu and Sett made her sit down and take it easy.

As the food came to a finish, Sett took his seat and Irietsu delivered everyone's food. " So, how was your day, Sett?" Irietsu asked, though Sett answered while talking to his mother as if to disregard his old man just to get a reaction out of him. " I went and picked flowers for papa here. I met a new friend too. She's just visiting, but I..."

Sett would have finished if his father didn't cut him off. " Ah, you met a woman? When I was your age, we didn't think about such perverse things!" His father joked while Sett grew rather red in the face. " Shut up, you old lecher, you're as perverted as they come!"

The two's little tantrum was stopped rather quickly, a quick knuckle to both of their noggins as Maya swooned at the idea of young love. " How nice, my little boy is growing up so well. He even met a nice girl too."

"M...mama." He looked up at his mother while playing with his food a bit. Irietsu had taken a bite of his own food before putting in his words.

" You know, I was 2 years older than you when I met your mother. Of course, she put me in the hospital first we met."

Sett looked at Irietsu with a smile. " You don't say? You two never told me how you met."

With his father and mother grinning as they started, Sett brought his hands up to stop them before they could. " Nope, nope, nope. None of that talk. Forget I said anything. I'm going to finish my food outside." With that, Sett laughed as he grabbed his food and hopped up onto his feet, heading to the moonlit night sky of the outdoors.

Settling down onto the ground, Sett finished his food outside. It brought a smile to his face as he thought about how lucky he was, to have such open parents he could be open with himself. And with a little sister on the way, he would continue doing good things to make them proud of him.

With his food done, Sett stood as he heard the door open behind him. It was his father, Sett saw as he turned to face him. " You busy tomorrow? I was thinking of taking you to the clinic and doing a brush up of things with you." Irietsu asked, and Sett nodded with a content smile. Sett loved visiting the clinic with hi father, the work one put to preserving life was much more fascinating than taking a life. It was also more complicated, trying to save a life over trying to take it. Maybe that's why Sett had such a lean towards working with his father.

" Oh, papa. I'll have to introduce you to my new friend sometime. You might like her." Sett said as he headed on in to wash his dish. His father shrugged as he rubbed his ear. " I'm proud of you, Sett. Don't ever forget that, k?"

With a moment to just enjoy his father's hug, Sett nodded. " I'm proud of you too, papa. You are one of my big role models, no?" Sett replied with a laugh as Irietsu gave him such a noogie. " What do you mean ONE!?" " Ahh, I regret nothing!"

Through laughs and small talk, Sett yawned from a hard day's work. With his father tricking Sett into a sip of warm sake, Sett was rather tired as he sat with his old man. " You know, pops? I'll make you proud of me one day. I'll make you and mama real proud of me." He said with a smile, a red cheeked smile as he looked up at his old man, who had brought an arm around him.

" You already do. Every day you come home, Sett. Now, come on. Your mother will kill me if she finds out I gave you a sip."

" A sip?"

" AAAAAND UP WE GO!" Yelling out loud in a joyful banter, Sett's father rushes Sett to his room, where Sett laughed before closing his door behind himself and passing out on his own bed. A day well spent.
