He still couldn't go too far from the village, but Kiwoharu was at least allowed to train in the mountains as well as the village itself. There were many things he wanted to train. Had to, if he wanted to be as strong as his parents. One thing he could use to his advantage was his size, this combined with speed would let him strike fast and precisely. He also wanted to work on his stamina, his overall health, as well as his ability to control his chakra.
He was practicing his chakra control when he heard loud footsteps. He looked toward the sound. He could see a dinosaur running around. It was pretty big. He couldn't tell whether or not it was tamed, but he figured if it was this close to the village it must not be too dangerous. He decided to dash toward it and start trying to run alongside it. It would help his own speed to have something to race against.

He was paying close attention to the dinosaur's movements. He wasn't looking for a fight himself, but he was prepared if it came to that. He moved away a little when the large creature roared. He was starting to think the dinosaur wasn't all that friendly. At least he had anticipated it might happen. He was still focusing on the dinosaur's movements, so he could nearly feel it when the dinosaur leapt into the air.
There was only one way he could dodge this quick enough. He leapt up and straight backwards toward the dinosaur, planning on either landing on its backside or being above it when it landed. Kiwoharu only had his body right now, he hadn't taken tools with him. The roar destabilized him wherever he landed though, so he couldn't yet try to attack back. He'd just have to focus on not being hit by whatever came next.

He was entirely on the defense for now, since the dinosaur was much bigger and stronger than him. He took the first chance he got to leap off to the side, managing to avoid the tail, but was hit a few times with the shock waves from its landings before he got out of range. Despite his speed, he couldn't dodge that many attacks that quickly. As well, since he couldn't get close enough to attack without being hit by an attack, he couldn't really even try to damage the dinosaur.
At about the last few meters of the shock wave's range, he nearly fell and had to roll forward to keep going. He faced toward the creature again, breathing heavily. He couldn't defeat it directly, so he decided he'd just try to last longer than it. It was the only way he would beat it at this rate.
((TWC: 466.. or am I supposed to count both of us? I have no idea.))

He was slightly dazed from the attacks. He shook it off while he watched the T-Rex again. He was considering his options carefully. Kiwoharu stared back into the creature's eyes. It did seem that the creature had intelligence, as it had planned ahead, and now seemed to be considering its next move. He got ready to move just in case as the dinosaur looked toward some of the trees. His opponent had superior strength, but perhaps with his slight speed advantage he could afford to keep fighting. Plus it did seem like the creature wasn't intent on hurting him too much.
He heard the tail slam into the side of the tree, his eyes quickly connecting the line of falling trees and the likely path of it, and moving out of the way quickly, long before he would actually have needed to. Kiwoharu decided to head toward the T-Rex again, though he stayed quick on his feet in order to not get caught by surprise by an attack. His focus, while mostly on the direct threat here, maintained awareness of his surroundings. If he was too careless, he might get hit by something, including an obvious attack.

[Sounds good to me. I may figure out how to put more words in posts eventually.]

The boy's steps were fairly loud against the rocky surface of the mountains. With his current skill, he had either speed or stealth, and right now stealth was already out the window. It was from running a lot at this altitude that his stamina had gotten where it was. He had only used a little bit of his limit, probably with the jump earlier. His observation of his opponent made him wonder if the dinosaur might be getting tired. Still, he kept approaching. His father had always encouraged him to give his best in any situation. Even when he lost in sparring, his father had only praise for him. Even losing was a valuable experience to learn from. Thus he was able to push any fear or doubt aside while fighting.
His parents were his inspiration. They were why he had become a ninja in the first place. He wanted to grow stronger so that he could make them proud. Kiwoharu wouldn't disappoint them, even if they weren't here to watch right now. He could win this, he just had to push fear aside and focus enough to get a strike in. This wasn't the time to be thinking of his reasons for training, but they were still there, in his head. "This is just a sparring match, so you can take a break if you want to." He said in the T-Rex's general direction as he got within striking range. He figured even if the dinosaur couldn't talk back, it would understand well enough. It did seem intelligent from what he had observed, after all.
He approached the creature's side, not wanting to be in range of the head, arms or tail. Any of those could hurt quite a bit if he got hit with them, though the range of the arms wasn't that long. Once he was in range, he slowed down a bit. He stepped forward with his left foot, at the same time his left hand made a fist as it approached the dinosaur's tough hide. This would carry the energy from the step into his attack, allowing him to put more force into this. He had learned this from his father. It allowed even his somewhat weak muscles to at least do something to his opponent. Unless they were just too tough.
