To train, in the rain / looking for a master
Thu Dec 12, 2013 9:22 am
Mesumeru stepped out into the rain, dark cloak pulled up over his shoulders, with the hood obscuring his features. He paced down the hard road towards some of the training ground. He sighed while he was walking, it was early in the morning, even before the break of dawn, so with the rain the darkness was almost absolute, if it hadn't been for the street lamps. The village seemed nearly deserted. No one out at this time, "A village full of shinobi, and absent of warriors of dedication. Waking early to train was not Mesumeru's idea of having fun, he genearlly liked to sleep in. However since achieving the rank of genin he has felt the need to make himself stronger. The village, was his home and his world, and it was to weak in his opinion. "If only I could find a sesnsai, with my thinking, that wanted to take over the village and raise it to be a contender in the big 5." Mesu thought to himself as he arrived at the training grounds, if that day never came, he was willing to strengthen his body to were he could be that ninja.
Arriving at the training ground he started by standing in front of a straw practice dummy. The straw was dripping wet, and blew slightly in the wind. Unsheathing his newly bought katana, Mesu settled into a proper swordsman stance. Quick as he could he delivered several body strikes, attempting to recover balance, and return back to a defensive stance as quickly as possible. Breathing in he placed the sword above his head, in a full attack position. Wipping the word making it whistle in the rain, he brought it down several times upon the dummy's neck, attempting to decapitate the wooden advisory. He continued this until he felt the reassuring burn of success spread from shoulders to biceps. At the end of this he sheathed his sword and approached a nearby tree. Leaping and grabbing a hold with his hands he began to do several pull ups to complete the training. Sitting in what little dry dirt there was Mesu took a breather.
He once again began pondering on the state of the rain village. He knew one mission was to find a team of fellow ninja to begin collecting ryo for both himself and the village. Though he knew this could be difficult. "Perhaps I should pay a visit to the leaders office to see what I can find." Mesu thought to himself, though the thought of assisting leadership he didn't agree with was disturbing, but one must do what they have to for the greater good of the village and nation.
Standing feeling recovered, Mesu took off for a jog. He ran for a long time with rain splatting from his steps. By now some civilians and unknown to him shinobi had began to stir and move about the village. Mesu continued to jog around town to see what and who was out. In addition to jogging he was taking opportunities to sprint, to help improve his speed. These intermittent sprints where causing him to break a sweat and to breath heavy. Dodging civilians, and gaining several choice words from residents, he could already feel the sprints to stretch his legs and help increase his rotation for speed. Belly grumbling he held his stomach for the last couple meters. He ran until his legs burned and his feet ached as they did from running in the rain for an extended period of time. Arriving back at his small apartment Mesu stepped inside and showered, and changed. Walking back out into the village he began walking around the village to see what he could find.

Mesu continued to wander down the streets looking for something to do until his evening training was to begin. He walked into a local ramen shop, and got a to go bowl, of the spicy stuff. Taking it outside and Mesu leaned against a wall with umbrella overhead. Searching the streets through his peripheral vision he waited to see if anything interesting might happen, of if any interesting people might wander by. The rain was creating a pleasant rhythmic sound as the water dripped from Mesu's umbrella onto a hollow pot. Mesu began to hum to himself and watched the rain fall for a little while.
